  Tell the DHBs, Ministry of Health, Dr Dolittle.
  People are dying from cancer because of the state of the Hospitals.
  In context, the Govt is killing these people, and they don’t care.

  A good friend has recently started a course of Keytruda injections, at $8000 a jab. His cancer is terminal, but he has some important life events to live for. Keytruda is not funded by the New Zealand Government. I won’t pass on your Happy Cancer Day greeting to him, because he’s not feeling particularly well disposed towards cancer just at the moment.

    Would it be significantly cheaper if the FDA were not so difficult and pig headed? No one wants another Thalidomide disaster, but then if someone is terminally ill, standards can be relaxed so patients or health providers do not have to meet very heavy compliance costs.

Sweden deserves the pandemic response plaudits that are slowly coming its way. But, it ain’t no paradise. Parts of it are now worse than Wairoa. Forget ram raiding: there, kids chuck bombs.

  Sweden was an homogenous society with very low rates of crime. Now there are bomb throwers, people setting fire to cars and rape of Swedish women on an unprecedented scale.
  What could be the reason for that?
  
  Could it be the introduction of many thousands of military age men of a different culture and religion who simply do not want to integrate? Who look at their new society with contempt and wish to retain their old ways and their old religion? They want to retain their old ways but they come to Sweden to live more prosperously.
  
  What we are seeing throughout Europe is that Western civilisation and sharia law are just not compatible.

    Scott: Quite so…and down here we are still taking in the bearded ones and their female chattels, somehow expecting that by some miracle the result here to be different from every other European country which has allowed its Muslim population to exceed 5%…I believe Muslims now make up 20% of Sweden’s population?       Even worse for Germany, with the little university town of Freiburg for starters:
      
      The “asylum home,”which is where shelter is initially provided to those immigrants — mostly Muslims — claiming asylum, was turned by its inhabitants into a trap. They deliberately set off fire alarms in order to attract firemen and police so that, upon their arrival, the Muslims could attack them. This was an assault on the forces of order that represent the state, which the Muslim migrants regard with contempt, for they see it as run by and for Infidels.
      
      A few hours later, staff said they were threatened by North African residents inside the center, requiring a large police response….
      
      The staff at the asylum center are there, remember, only to help migrants. They provide temporary shelter, help migrants prepare their applications for asylum, and at the same time, aid them in applying for the many state benefits – housing, medical care, education, family allowances, even unemployment benefits – that they might qualify for. Yet instead of gratitude, the North African Muslims threatened the staff at the asylum center with violence;
      
      It seems the cops are treated with complete contempt by these Muslim migrants. Hardly surprising; the cops are infidels supporting a society run by infidels for infidels. There is no reason why those Muslim immigrants should treat them or their “laws” with respect.
      
      This is Freiburg, this is Germany, today. The street violence, the increase in every type of crime, the attacks on the representatives of state authority – policemen, firemen, ambulance drivers – are happening at a time when Muslims make up only 7% of the country’s population.

      But remember the keep quiet recent agreement between Ardern and Albi in Australia that Australia will go more easy in the selection criteria of thos brothers returning.
      I am not sure that the Australian media are yet aware of this signed agreement, told they will not be happy because they support getting rid of long term criminals with substantial convictions,

    Hi David, Press Reader itself is just another app; you download it from the Apple store or wherever you usually go.
    
    The trick is the free access bit. You get this by entering your library card number. You need to join your local library, of course. Press Reader enables you to download plenty of papers & magazines. One exception is your local paper: in Chch you won’t get The Press, for example. What I like is that you have an image of the actual newspaper or mag; it’s not an app. So you can see the small ads etc. Definitely one for a tablet; a phone screen would be too small.
    
    The best bit is that it’s all legit. The library will have signed up to some sort of subscription arrangement, so this is equivalent to the old newspaper reading room of yore. Ultimately, you’ve paid for it via your rates; it’s good to get something back.

  Entry used to be free for NZ residents the last time I was there. Admittedly quite a few years ago…

        Te Papa is free – funded by the taxpayer.
        
        Taxpayer funds Waitangi – it is a historically significant place – it should be free.
        
        As an example, the US charge for everything, but not nationally significant historical sites eg went to Pearl Habour memorial – all free.
        
        If not funded by taxes then fine charge for it.

        That’s the way it is in Thailand, but the difference is often far more than double. What’s more the Thai prices are presented using the Thai alphabet. So it might be ๕๐ for Thai people and 200 for us, which is four times as much.

  When I visited around 6/7 years ago, NZ citizens could go on to the Treaty grounds free. They didn’t publicise it well & you had to show photo id such as a driver’s license.

  My humble views on the Parties.
  
  Maori. Facist and Racist. Their only purpose is to exact revenge from the white colonialists and enrich the Party elites and other Maori elites. Maori peasantry will get nothing from them.
  
  NZ First or the Winston Party. Will fade away when Winston does. Only good policy is to end Maorification.
  
  Greens. Communists.
  
  Labour. Socialists and racists as we have seen over the past 5 years.
  
  National. I call them the bi-sexual Party. Confused as to whether they are socialist or liberal democrats. In their heart they know what they should stand for and do but just cant bring themselves to do it.
  
  ACT. The only party that adheres to the principles of democracy. Believes in the freedom of the individual to conduct their lives with only the minimal and necessary assistance and support of the State NOT the absolute command and control of the State. Policies are too enuanced and intellectual for many citizens.
  
  Having said all that I will be voting for my local Nat MP with my Party vote to ACT. A compromise but the only way to keep the other parties out of power.

      I agree with the sentiments but I might do something different; party vote Act but electorate vote Labour (hear me out). I live in Auckland Central and if there’s a chance of the Labour candidate winning I’d vote for them to keep Chloe out. I’m sure that the Greens will pass 5% anyway but there would be some satisfaction is seeing them lose the one seat they have.

    My thoughts exactly on where to place my vote this election.
    Have been a National supporter, often reluctantly, my whole life.
    Can’t bring myself to give them the party vote this election. They have been up against the most appalling government in decades and still cannot give us a clear and concise vision for the future.
    ACT will get my party vote, and Luxon will have to be happy with his electoral vote in Botany.
    Maybe National will get a wake up call.

Australia has left the King off its new $5 note. I hope an incoming National/ACT government will ensure the monarch is on our most commonly used banknote(s). And that an invitation for a Royal Tour is one of the first things they do. And adopt a set of criteria for appointing the Governor General which ensures that s/he is the most prominent and suitable person available. For a starter, every Chief of Defence Staff should be on the short list.

I note Martyn Martin has a new term of disparagement for the Waitakere Man of Chris Trotter’s. It is Ford Ranger Man.         Maggy, I hear you but if perchance on offer somewhere, perhaps try a nice “fruity” sauvignon blanc (preferably from Marlborough) or perhaps a small dose of Riesling, as they are both complete opposite in terms of taste to what you describe.
        
        Pinot Gris (note not Pinot Noir which is red) may also fair well?
        
        But maybe ignore Chardonnay as it can be harsher in comparison (no wonder the Chardonnay Socialists love it). 🙂

I was only offered tastings at one, and the owners weren’t too upset when I said I’d prefer a coffee.
        
        Then a few years later chef daughter and I took a cycle tour through some wineries in Marlborough.
        One of the owners was quite put out that I had no interest in her offerings and I had asked that she direct her attention to my daughter who was doing the tastings.
        
        Daughter has been working in one of the restaurants on a vineyard on the Mornington Peninsula. She warned the sommeliers that they were not to annoy me when I last went over to dine there.

I agree that stormwater management needs to improve across all councils. The regional councils, our regulators, also fail to enforce meaningful improvements. But it would be wrong to push stormwater management into the Water Entities and separate it from land-use management. Instead, the way to improve our stormwater system and avoid the catastrophic flooding we have seen recently in Auckland and elsewhere, would be by providing clear direction, changes in legislation and guidance – and not leave this to each and every local and regional council to figure out. We also need specialised environmental and economic regulators, with land-use planning an important part of this.

If Race Ralations is so vital to the fabric of New Zealand’s society, perhaps the office should be an example itself of “working together”, with two, if not three, Commissioners and organised in such a way that negotiation and agreement is forced on them, beyond bias, before they can make any recommendation to Government or utter any comment on how they believe New Zealanders should conduct ourselves.

Australia introduced its Capital Gains Tax (CGT) under the Hawk Labor Govt in 1985. It did not include the Family Home in its Scoop Net at that time. Now, under another Labor Govt, it’s already talking about including the Family Home but with no reasoning other than wealth redistribution AFIK.

Allowing legislation to proceed granting 16% of the population a 50/50 say over the democratic rights of 84% NZs on the direction and ownership of the much hated so called Three Waters/Maybe even Five Waters .
Her replacement named Hipkins seems to have picked up her cudgel as he appears to be running scared of and by the latest comments by spokespeople of the 16% reminding him of what he and his Party recently voted for.
We will now see or hear in the next few days how he will control the rhetoric of the 16% wanting 50/50 say in Three Waters/Maybe Five, or the 84%
who want to keep and control what they already own and have paid for .
The choice for the wee man Hipkins decision will echo any which way as NZ heads for maybe a General Election later in 2023 or earlier.or will he continue to be seen to be “Running Scared”so afraid to at least help make NZ “A Nation Once Again ” after such a division of NZs people by his previous now departed colleague.

  I’ve read quite a few times that over half of NZ Moari don’t identify with any iwi. They are just normal people getting on with life. So make that 8% of people ruling over 92%. Also remember that for each iwi there is a very small number of people at the top making the desicions so that 8% could become a fraction. To assume that those few represente the voice of Moari is delusional. Moari, as a whole, are not a united people.

The Auckland University medical school this year has 287 places available for new med students. Of these, 103 are reserved for Māori & Pacifica students. That leaves 94 for all other races.
This can’t be about the Treaty obligations (Samoa, Tonga etc didn’t sign the Treaty). So any idea what’s going on? Apart from the obvious woke neo-racism that is just as awe full as all other forms of racism.

  Dux of our local college failed to qualify to second year… I don’t know how, their grades were out of the world and also awarded a scholarship , tens of thousands of dollars .
  
  They’d be an awesome doctor due to being well rounded academically and in sports.
  
  But, there you go. A tongan/samoan/maori was deemed more qualified due to skin colour.
  
  If anything, qualification should be based on deprivation. I know 3 ‘white’ maoris from privileged backgrounds who queue jumped better people because of their skin colour.

    This has been going on for at least a couple of decades, originally thanks to National (Wayne Mapp etc) & Academic virtue signalling. He has previously argued on KB that the justification is that deprived communities benefit medically from the “cultural empathy of their own medical people” (never mind that we’re all the same under the skin). AFAIK no figures have ever been released on the numbers who return to work in rural communities vs those who don’t.

      If med school entry was done solely on exam results you have a problem that because some of the applicants already have a degree … hard to compare that with a first year student. Older – presumably more mature – proven track record at uni and all that.
      
      Also if it was just done on academic results we might find rather more Asian women in the mix.

  It is happening all around the world now Grunter. The son of good friends of ours in the UK, missed out on Cambridge. Our friends are fairly wealthy, live in a wealthy area, are white, and their son is very bright. He aced the entry exam. Our friends brother is not wealthy. Lives in less well off area, married a Russian who already had a son. Their son is not so bright. He didn’t ace the Cambridge entry exam (which he did at the same time as our friends son). But made the cut. A friends daugther averaged 94 in pre-med at Otago. And didn’t get entry over Maori and Pacifica who averaged mid-80’s. Entry is now not about the best and brightest, it is about social engineering. Dumbing down the education system and the quality of those coming out the other side.

      The trouble with these quota systems is that they claim they are required to achieve equity. But if that is the case they would have an endpoint when equity is achieved. But what really happens is that once equity is achieved they keep going because actually the activists don’t want equity, they want dominance.
      
      Just look at parliament to see this in action. Maori mps over represent on the basis of % of race. But there is no qualms about this but if underrepresented then we are all racist.

      it is a good point. Just because you are top of the class doesn’t make you a good doctor. It is something I’ve talked about with my GP, his clinic takes in new doctors to give them training. Some of them over the years despite being book smart lack any empathy and zero people skills.

      I am sure the doctor will be competent to look up your symptoms on google to find a remedy or treatment.
      Just so long as they are able to chat to you in a friendly manner – eh.
      PS : the very well trained and experienced GP we went to (now retired) , towards the end of his career used to get frustrated with an increasing number of his patients who looked up their symptoms on google and made an appointment with him only to demand a prescription for the medication they had seen on-line.
      Really pi..ed him off because after his assessment and diagnosis, backed up with lab tests, it was often found that Dr Google was wrong.

  Back in the 1970’s when I lived in Rotorua, I decided to take night class Maori language lessons. In my group of acquaintances there were several Maori guys. One time when when we were having a beer – a group of about 9, in which were 3 of the Maori guys – I thought I would be clever and introduce some of my acquired Language skills: but – I used an incorrect adjective. Two of the Maori guys chuckled & corrected me – the third, who was a teacher, ridiculed me and made of big thing of it.
  Really bears out & was a prefigurement of what the problem in our race relations is today – the vast majority of Maori are happy with the way society has been for decades and wish to keep it that way. The elite & the academics want to control everything.
  Time for the adults to take charge and stop this bullshit.

Then there are two articles written by Maori male journalists there is no ability to comment. Even though Stuff has the ability to censor comments the public are not given the opportunity to comment. Since the U.S. wants to keep the balloon to study it, and there are otherwise risks of an international incident, U.S. officials are working on plans to shoot it down so that it also lands in U.S. territorial waters, the official said.

    China can troll alright. All this hysteria over a bloody balloon. I don’t see other countries crying out over countless US drones and spy planes over other countries’ airspace.
    
    On the other hand, it’s quite remarkable that China can release a balloon from mainland China and has it navigated over tens of thousands of miles high up in the air to the US, then along a precise path covering sensitive military sites.

    Not an easy thing to shoot down a balloon at that altitude. Missiles won’t lock on to it. Guns would work, but you’re limited to about 60,000ft … and bullets fall to ground so best be over somewhere unpopulated.
    
    And difficult to manage downing it safely given the amount of civilian air traffic at lower altitudes.
    
    I’d be pretty sure though that something like a U2 or one of NASA’s WB57s has been up to take a close look at it.

      The interesting thing will be if/when they do shoot it down (likely once it’s out over the ocean) … will that disclose some previously secret capability?
      
      Or, alternatively, do you not bother because to shoot it down would disclose some secret capability that you don’t want to uncover?
      
      Back in the 1970s Carter took a lot of political heat because he cancelled the B-1A bomber, but couldn’t publicly explain that the reason was he’d authorised the work on the B-2 stealth bomber. It could be a similar thing here, where a President takes political heat for something because they’re not prepared to disclose a secret capability.

    Hmmm… good question, China has its own space station, has landed a Mars rover at the first attempt, has its own GPS called BeiDou. I seriously doubt that it possesses any spy satellite technology, too high tech for them.

    Yes.
    
    But spy satellites are in low earth orbit, so they travel on predictable paths, and pass over areas of interest only every few days. So you know when to hide stuff away the satellite doesn’t see it.
    
    A balloon can loiter over an area of interest for quite a while, by managing its altitude to catch winds flowing in different directions.

A man has been hurt after a machete-wielding trio targeted a store in Hamilton this afternoon.

Police say they were called to a building on Heaphy Terrace about 2pm after a report of three men entering the store and making demands.

One man was then assaulted, causing a wound to the shoulder.

They have been taken to hospital in a moderate condition.

After the release of the Project Veritas expose of their staff. The MSM have hit back with another “conspiracy theorists” article.

The article uses abusive labels “conspiracy theorists” “anti-vaxx” and “freedumb fighter”.

So what do these dumb, mentally ill, anti-vax conspiracists believe?

The article posts the conspiracy theorist husbands discarded pamphlet . But it must be a very early pamphlet from before widespread vaccination because the points in the pamphlet are all now proven true!

The Conspiracy theories as alleged in the pamphlet.
Conspiracy 1. The vaccine is experimental. You are taking part in a trial
(TRUE- it’s still only “provisionally” approved by medsafe. Pfizer has indemnity because of this status )
Conspiracy 2. There is no guarantee of immunity. The vaccine only lessens symptoms.
(TRUE- everyone knows now it doesn’t guarantee immunity like we were told! But the Herald are claiming this as a conspiracy theory in their article?! Still! )
Conspiracy 3.You can still spread the disease. You will not be exempt from precautions mandated by Government.
(CORRECT- We were told it would stop spread of disease and it doesn’t! And almost no one was exempted by the government despite Ardern saying that this was a conspiracy. They lied. Fact.)
Conspiracy 4. Vaccine Damage and Death. Doctors and Scientists do not know what short or long term damage this vaccine can cause, as no long term studies have taken place. This can include permanent disability and death.

So the Herald and Bennet smearing people who they want to shut down, yet 4 of the 4 “conspiracy theories” in the conspiracy pamphlet turn out to be true and had a serious impact on society.

Powerful people like Bennet and the Herald shut down discussion of serious concerns by mixing it in with stupid , rarely held beliefs – like holocaust deniers or flat earthers who have nothing to do with the anti-mandate protestors or the man’s pamphlet.

But the man with the pamphlets facts were true.

What is the word you would use for powerful people who suppress discussion and lie about the facts. Propogandists. Liars. Fascists

What’s the bet it’ll be those bloody Welsh again, they’re always up to no good – always trying to get you to try their bloody leeks.
