Hipkins announces four u-turns
Pm Chris Hipkins has announced four u-turns on policies, in a bid to try and win re-election (when they can bring them back). The are:
- RNZ/TVNZ merger – scrapped
- Compulsory Unemployment Insurance – delayed
- Biofuels mandate – scrapped
- Hate speech laws – referred to Law Commission
No decision yet on Three Waters and Auckland Light Rail.
