Both Marama Davidson and Chris Hipkins have spoken, actually telling you loud and clear what they think, and do not “walk back” …

The actual Davidson street “white cis men interview” and Hipkin’s response to the whole thing has become a bit more important perhaps than it was, now that it is part of the rationale that Labour untruthfully uses to frame its public engagement for the Election.

Note, if you haven’t already done so, that –

1 – A right wing blog did not harass Davidson – the approach was quite friendly and convivial.
However Marama did not answer the question put to her, but launched into a seeming rote response that appeared an already thought-out point of view, and spoken “past” the interviewer (and cameraperson, if they were not the same) – something Marama had already formulated (literally premeditated) and wished to express, rather than the wrong-thinking Hipkins suggests it was – being inappropriate was entirely a different matter.

2 – And Hipkins, either not knowing this (having not seen the whole video as he admits) or ignoring it, changes the narrative to a confrontation to fit the agenda he, in turn, wishes to convey – of violence which his MPs will have to be wary of, and also withdraw from.

Seeing the Davidson video reveals what an untruthful cis-male dick Hipkins may be himself in his Newshub video.

So when it comes to a matter like the Treaty of Waitangi, are these people going to discuss in any way its true relevance, or are they going to spout a formulaic preconceived agenda, perhaps because the Maori Caucus pressures them under threat to secede from Labour?

  I thought the reporter caught Marama Davison in a moment where she actually spoke her mind? I think this is what she really believes. I think she really believes that white men are the cause of most of the problems in the world today. That’s an ideology that has gripped many on the left and I think she spoke what she really really believed.
  
  The Prime Minister may want to walk it back for political reasons? But look, I think that is the real Marama Davison and voters need to note what she believes when they next go to the ballot box at the end of the year.

  Apparently in the interim between being struck by the motorcycle, and being interviewed for the video clip, Minister Davidson had been treated by first aid staff, and had been observed taking a full part in the protest, including dancing, and generally enjoying herself in a very vocal and happy manner.
  
  This puts her version of the narrative that she was still traumatised by the assault in a somewhat different light, but then the tenor of her statements at the time would also indicate that her version of reality is somewhat skewed.
  
  Also, in an interview on Radio New Zealand later that week, when asked if she intended to apologise, Minister Davidson stated forcefully that she had no intention of apologising to cis men, somewhat conveniently omitting that her original comment slighted WHITE cis men! So, can we add gaslighting to her list of crimes against reality?

A cabal of communist, neo-Marxist and socialist sympathisers have taken over our institutions and government.

Nowhere is this more the case than our Team of $55 Million, which is rife with neo-Marxist thought.

These extreme left-wing fanatics often expose themselves by describing rather moderate people as ‘far right’. There is some truth to the term, at least from where they are positioned. The middle appears to be ‘far right’, if you are a neo-Marxist.

Of course, many of the lickspittle extreme left fanatics don’t even realise that they are espousing neo-Marxist ideology. They are simply useful idiots for the neo-Marxist cause.

The failure of these socialists to deliver anything except economic ruin and social disharmony is not bad luck. This is the inevitable consequence of the centralisation of everything.

My concern is that Mr Luxon and Mr Seymour don’t appear to realise appreciate what is happening. It is obvious that a clear-out of neo-Marxist thought from our once proud institutions is vital to our future.

Even if National / ACT win the next election, eventually the extreme left will again return to power. They will simply start up where they left off.

Neo-Marxists must be identified, named and shamed. Presuming National / ACT win the election, they must, for the sake of our future, act to remove as many Marxists as possible from our institutions. The police, courts, universities, schools and government bureaucracy is overrun with these extremists.

The most important policy that a National / ACT government can do is to reform the Team of $55 Million. Privatise all State media. Completely defund the rest, including eliminating State advertising. Close all quangos, such as NZ on Air.

The government could require the private sector broadcaster who buys the State television networks to broadcast news free to air, to head off Marxist whining about unfairness.

  As I said before, you need to zoom out a bit and see the “left: and “right” as really two parts of the same thing – like the front and back of a wave.
  
  The front part (the left) moves things. The back part (the right) comes along and smooths things over.
  
  Sure, the Nats would undo a few minor policies, but mainly they will just “tweak” and “improve” them, provide the competence to bed the policies down properly.
  
  Once everyone has accepted the new status quo, then along comes the left to shift things again.
  
  There is no real adversity. It’s all professional wrestling or good-cop/bad-cop – however you want to view it.
  
  If you think any of the big Labour changes are going to be undone then you are in dreamland.
  
  Likewise, if you voted for Labour and thought they’d really change major National policies you’re in dreamland too. For example, Labour and Greens promised to nationalise the assets sold in the partial asset sales. They did absolutely nothing. Not a peep.

    If National / ACT don’t reverse the neo-Marxism, New Zealand will become a failed State. The economy will collapse, and Third World status will ensue.
    
    Make no mistake. Labour has declared war on the private sector in NZ.
    
    A few examples:
    
    1. Kommissar Robbo doubled government spending in just four years from 2018 to 2022 ($81bn to $162bn). The Marxist ideology here is that the government should eventually crowd out the entire private sector. Only the State will survive.
    
    2. The minimum wage has been increased, to the extent that ours is now the highest relative to the median wage in the world. Kommissar Robbo obviously wants everybody in New Zealand to be paid the same amount, per Marxist ideology. Eliminating financial incentives is a key target for Marxists.
    
    3. Kommissar Robbo and Cindy have actively tried to destroy our exporting capacity. Cindy closed our borders for the best part of three years during the Covid hoax, annihilating tourism. Labour has also smashed farming, and is trying to cut herds by 20%, as part of the Climate hoax. The consequence of this is that New Zealand now has the worst trade deficit in the OECD, and the worst in our history, at 8.9% of GDP. A currency collapse beckons.
    
    I could go on, but you hopefully you get the point.
    
    If we continue following the Marxist policies of Venezuela and Zimbabwe, we will also become a failed State.
    
    This time, it’s different. National / ACT must change the policies, or we are doomed.

  I think John is right. When Donald Trump became president he decided not to prosecute Hillary Clinton. He was gracious. Although I believe in grace, I think that was a mistake? Basically the Democrats know they can get away with anything and there appear to be no consequences? Whereas on the Republican side they get hammered. For an example we have the January 6 “insurrection” where nobody bought a gun and the only person killed at the scene was a female Trump supporter. The Justice Department hammered those involved and many spent months in solitary confinement awaiting charge.
  Recently mobs of trans-protesters have invaded state capitals and nothing happens? They just seem to get away with it.
  
  I actually think the Republican Congress need to do the following. Start investigating Hunter Biden. Put out articles of impeachment on Joe Biden. Impeach the guy who is in charge of the southern border.
  
  Donald Trump has promised to be the person who gets justice if he is elected. I think he needs to make good on that promise. If he is elected the voters need to see people arrested and jailed. There has been so much corruption that Democrats need to see that they will do serious jail time if caught. They do have to fight fire with fire.

    What evidence do you have to support this claim?
    
    I can think of 2 possible reasons for Trump to not prosecute Hillary and you have added a third;
    1 – “Lock her up” was an election promise he never intended to keep.
    2 – There was insufficient evidence to bring charges.
    3 – Trump was being gracious.
    
    Despite Trump’s track record, you are telling us 3 is what you believe.

    How do you define an insurrection?
    Are you confusing it with the term “armed insurrection”?
    Do you think people have to die for it to be an insurrection?

All one needs to do is to take a look at their increase in wealth during their time in Congress or the Senate. Rand Paul is an exception… and he does charitable eye surgery during recess. The Prime Minister is warning MPs to proceed with caution.
“Generally the best advice would be not to engage,” Hipkins said. “I acknowledge that can be very difficult when someone is right in your face like that. But ultimately no good is going to come from those sorts of situations.”
He’s expecting it to ramp up this year.
“It is certainly possible we will see more of that kind of aggressive, in-your-face sort of behaviour.”
The aggressive nature of some of those who protested against Posie Parker saw her ushered out by security. Scuffles continued out on the streets.
But on Tuesday the Prime Minister said if his schedule had allowed, he would have joined the protest.
“Conceptually, I would’ve had no issue with being there. It would’ve been something I would’ve been proud to support.”
He said he would have been supporting the rainbow community.

So there are serious issues at Gore District Council between the Mayor and the Chief Executive. There was a similar issue in Horowhenua District several years ago. Perhaps Mayors should be elected by councils rather than the public (former County Councils and Regional Councils elected a chairperson from among its members). Perhaps another idea is for the ability to remove a Mayor from office if 75% of councillors AND the Chief Executive agree.     We may find a lot of the population has woken up. A referendum was held in Berlin on whether to support climate neutrality by 2030. Only 18% of voters supported it. I did a poll on LinkedIn and found a similar response from 100 votes. It’s only politicians who want to scare us and journalists who are scared who are prepared to make other people make the needless sacrifice.

    In Germany a recent Referendum to bring forward Net Zero was defeated as it failed to get enough Votes for a Quorum.

      The wheels are falling off the Climate Change trolley. Germany and Italy have both refused to sign up to no fossil fuel vehicles after 2030 because Porsche and Ferrari want to continue building them and the Germans have worked out it will cost 100,000 jobs in the sector.
      When push comes to shove voters will decide and will always take the less costly to them option. I suspect over the next few years Net Zero will quietly fade away as pollies see they will be defeated if they persist.

        This is isn’t true no matter how much you wish it to be. At best manufacturers have a five year reprieve from 2030 – after 2035 no new ICE vehicle can be sold in the European Union, the law was passed earlier this year. In any case the VW Group (who own the Porsche, Audi, Seat, Skoda, Bentley, Ducati and Volkswagen brands) have openly stated they will stop production of ICE vehicles in Europe sometime between 2033 and 2035.
        
        So unless someone buys out Porsche, or Italy and Germany leave the EU, what you’re claiming is not happening.

      One thing that concerns me is that there’s plenty of grift to be made in Wind and Solar if you don’t have to pay for the backup power but can socialise it to the rest of the system.
      
      I saw some mention, I think basically a boast from Luxon, about $30 billion just waiting to be invested in wind/solar IF the RMA process can be re-worked, and I wondered how much support those people are giving to National – and how many Nats have investments in such companies.
      
      Look at the power price rises in Europe and every state that’s pushing unreliables. No wonder the German voters finally baulked. The joke is that the fossil fuel companies love it as well because fast, gas-fired plants that can switch on in minutes are more profitable than 24/7 stations – and more inefficient.
      
      And of course since all that back-up fossil fuel power is used for much shorter periods of time, the capex and opex costs are spread over much smaller periods of time and smaller amounts of power – hence price increases for “free” wind and solar.

      Look at the referendum. It was for NetZero in 2030. Obviously that was going to fail, just as it would in NZ. Simply not practical in just 7 years time.
      In contrast 2050 is 27 years away. I posted on this yesterday so am not going to fully repeat myself. Suffice to say that by 2050 the transportation fleet will be dramatically closer to zero emissions than at present.

  This is the thing with climate change mitigation. Nothing has changed since I first started working on it 20 years ago. Everyone wants big cuts in emissions until the bill is received. You are seeing that in Germany, the UK, and – with the unfortunate farmers – in the Netherlands. Australia is next off the block. South Australian electricity prices – caused by their mass move to renewables are just the start.
  
  Policy promises are cheap. Action is expensive.
  
  Just look at how the Government freaked out with the rising petrol prices last year. They had to do something because it was political death otherwise. Think that is bad – wait for the path to ‘net zero’ to get underway.

    That’s what got me about Mapp’s answer the other day where he claimed – contra my assertion – that he did understand the ETS, and went on to demonstrate that by showing numbers he’d calculated about what the ETS would have to force to have the same effect as his beloved ute-tax/EV-subsidy.
    
    And I thought to myself that he’d just demonstrated how he didn’t understand the ETS, which is designed to reduce GHG emission in the most economically efficient way. He’s cherry picked a solution he really loves and is then annoyed to find the ETS doesn’t support it – which is exactly the point of the ETS.
    
    Hell, I think it was none other than DPF (or perhaps someone he quoted) who showed what the Carbon Cost has been from all the EV subsidies to date, and it amounts to thousands of dollars per tonne of GHG emissions reduction. just economically batshit crazy and Muldoon Think Big level of resource waste.

      You seem to have have missed the point I was making. To get the equivalent effect of the clean car rebate, the carbon price would have to be unsustainably high. For instance if the ETS component of petrol was $1 the carbon price would need to be $350. That might happen over time, perhaps a couple of decades. However, an increase in a proposed minimum of $120 for carbon (compared to $60 to $70) was too high for the cabinet. They were concerned about the overall impact on prices.
      So yes, I stick by my view. The advantage of the clean car rebate is that it is targeted, whereas the ETS has a general effect. There is no doubt the clean car rebate has accelerated the shift into EVs. It is why just about every developed nation has a similar scheme. They are not all batshit crazy, though I suspect you probably think they are.

        It’s a conundrum, presuming the goal of the ETS is to stop people using petrol or diesel vehicles carbon credits become so pricey that so called carbon farming becomes the only viable land use and agriculture disappears.
        Of course the aim of the ETS is probably not getting people out of fossil fueled cars, hence the reverse Robin Hood tax breaks and subsidies for wealthy EV buyers.

We (all western countries) are therefore pissing against the wind (at catastrophic expense) trying to control the climate.         I think you are asking the wrong question here Wayne. The question is how high does the ETS have to be to make it more economic to buy an EV? MfE’s 2020 ‘Marginal abatement cost curves analysis for New Zealand’ estimates that by 2030 both the light passenger and commercial fleets are more competitive as EVs than fossil fueled at zero ETS.
        
        So the policy problem is transitional, how to handle the exist stock of vehicles. If you want to speed things up direct intervention might be worth doing, but if it will virtually happen by 2040ish is it worth it?
        
        The high ETS would however be needed for other problems. See the MfE publication.

        If your solution to a problem is many times more expensive than other solutions then it is certainly batshit crazy. Which is why those other developed nations you’re talking about are steadily reducing or eliminating EV subsidies and focusing on smarter and cheaper ways of reducing GHG’s.
        
        Just because you’re nudging people into EV’s via subsidies that they don’t think about, as opposed to more brutal approach of massive increases in the price of petrol, don’t kid yourself that the cost is going to escape the voters taxed pocketbooks forever. That’s why National is going to scrap this scheme.
        
        Suffice to say that’s going to have a negative effect on EV sales.

I remember when

Pamui updates its profit forecast:
The state farmer now expects a full year net operating profit of between $34m and $44m.
Its original forecast was $55.
The move was made in light of the impact of Cyclone Gabrielle on 24 of its farms, along with softer milk prices.
The annual increase to December 2022 in the farm expenses price index of 15% is more than double the consumer price index for that period.

This is in line with the New Plymouth District Council report comparing there increased costs with the consumer price index.
So there is still a considerable amount of inflation to slowly ‘drip feed’ into the consumer price index.

In today’s BOP Herald edition the front cover and part next page is given to a young lady who is now a recpient of Trikafta – a drug which keeps her alive.
The picture shows her high over New York where she is in training to be an airline attendant.
She missed AirNZ due to pandemic.
My question is the the cost we are told is $330,000 per year for which she and others are recipients.
Great, I have no problem in the drug and Pharmac.
But once she is qualified she will start as a junior domestic attendent probably in the USA.
A very poorly paid job.
Why is she not to pay any New Zealand Tax towards her great fortune unless he get back to AirNZ here where she will pay PAYE like the rest of us, where applicable.

If the Jury had come back with no call to indict, Trump would have claimed that as vindication, and used it to build support.

There was no attempt to find out who the so-called Nazis present in Australia were, or why they were present, just a rush to label Posie Parker and her supporters as Nazis. There was also no attempt to explain the democratic tradition of free speech in parks which is part of the rich British cultural heritage of New Zealand.
    
    One thing I learned from attending the event was something our press should understand well – what you see and hear depends on where you are in the crowd and when, as well as how other people perceive you. People at the back and those not identifiable as Posie supporters may well have experienced a dance party. Those closer to the front or identifiable with Posie have lived experience that is significantly different.

        1. taking drugs that will significantly increase their risk of suffering from cancers and heart disease within the next 10-15 years,

    And I spoke with two female friends who were their MCos, and both felt in danger. One was struck twice with a wooden pole (that had had the placard on it) by a looney counter protester. Both were physically pushed around by counter protesters when they explained they had come to listen to Parker speak.     Mcos – when our boys were getting killed at Gallipoli the officers on the ships didn’t think things were going too badly. The people reading the news at home didn’t think things were going too badly either. While this situation is much lower level than a WWI battle you and your granddaughters ignorance have some similarities.
    
    Unlike the public during WWI you can access footage of violence being meted out to senior citizens from young thugs. You can witness the assault on Kelly-Jean. You can listen to her accounts of how her security and the police saved her life and the police kept her in protection until her departure because they were concerned for her safety. They wouldn’t have needed to do that if this had been the love fest that Chloe and your daughter are claiming.
    
    Further you can listen to the women that were there attending the Let Women Speak event. Many of them rang into The Platform the Monday following. So you can hear their account from the band rotunda. You cannot deny the terror they felt, nor the trauma in their voices.
    
    I’d be interested to hear your insight once you have watched and listened to all this footage of the actual event.
    
    Why would your daughter have such an inaccurate view of events? Perhaps she wasn’t really there, perhaps she was stationed out to sea with the officers?

  Is it possible to use a consistent standard for judging both situations?
  
  My view is that no amount of non violent footage from either event will negate or invalidate the footage showing violence or criminal actions at either event, irrespective of the individual or media outlet making that claim.

As part of New Zealand’s provisional approval of the Pfizer vaccine, the country’s regulator Medsafe prepared a Non-Clinical Assessment in January 2021 which concluded that:

the lipid nanoparticles were distributed through the body, mainly into the liver, adrenal glands, spleen and ovaries.

with regard to pregnancy, “although not directly addressable from the nonclinical data, there may be a basis in the current circumstances for concluding the risk of vaccination during pregnancy is outweighed by the potential benefits of immunity particularly for specific subpopulations at heightened risk.”

the proposed data sheet notes that there is limited experience in pregnant women and provides appropriately cautious advice that, “Administration of Comirnaty in pregnancy should only be considered when the potential benefits outweigh any potential risks for mother and fetus.”

Despite Medsafe’s assessment, the Medical Council issued guidance to all GPs in April 2021 which instructed doctors to only discuss the benefits of vaccination and warned that there “was no place for anti-vaccination messages in professional health practice, nor any promotion of anti-vaccination claims including on social media and advertising by health practitioners”.

This jab was never “safe and effective”. Ardern, Hipkins, Bloomfield, Turner, Baker, Wiles etc etc all lied when they claimed it was. There was NO informed consent.

Use in immunocompromised patients

Use in frail patients with co-morbidities (e.g. chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), diabetes, chronic neurological disease, cardiovascular disorders)

Use in patients with autoimmune or inflammatory disorders

Interaction with other vaccines

Long term safety data

They didn’t have the safety information for this experiment, yet all of these groups were the ones pushed hardest to take this it. How was this permitted?

It is no longer possible to deny that we were lied to and misinformed by Ardern and her cohorts. They lied when they said the jabs were safe and effective. The withheld critical safety information, knowingly and deliberately. This is malicious malfeasance for political goals.

This was never to do with health.

It’s past time for National or Act to call this out for what it is and was. They will have to swallow their pride and admit they got it wrong, but they will be forgiven for that. The first thing they need to do though is acknowledge it as the complete disaster that it was, then promise that nothing like it will ever be allowed to happen again.

They can effectively spin it that they were lied to along with the public of NZ. The first of the two to move on this could pickup around 5% support, mostly from fringe or non voters I suspect.

I wonder if anyone in the government actually has any idea of the very real consequences of continuing to pander to the fertile imaginations of the lunatic fringe.

Prime Minister Hipkins speaks to us as if we are all just naive schoolchildren, which is exactly the same methodology that Jacinda used to achieve her goals.
Nothing much has changed then has it, same old bullshit using the same patronising tone.

We are constantly reminded of our failure to understand simple politics and policy which the government continues to tell us is in our best interests. This includes but is not limited to creating personal and legal identities for mountains and man hating anti violence ministers telling us that all white males are violent, whilst she participates in and endorses a violent protest against women.

Does this minister not realise what she is actually saying or is it just us the great unwashed who fail to grasp the ludicrous concepts she is pushing.

We are constantly reminded of how worthless and insensitive we are to the needs of the lunatic fringe. We are also constantly forced fed Maori language and culture based on pure guilt for supposed past transgressions, so evil and vile that we must atone and bow to the demands of these delinquents who insist that mountains are actually people with a male perspective and voice.

Now if I may be permitted at this juncture to quote a recent publication by Iwi leaders explaining how Maori actually see themselves.

“All Maori tribes regard themselves as part of the universe at one with and equal to the mountains, the rivers and the seas”

I simply had no idea we mere mortals were in the presence of such greatness and obviously a superior intellect and race, who transcend and surpass our beliefs in scientific and geological fact on such a scale.

Perhaps this is what Chris Hipkins is trying to tell us, that we are simply incapable of understanding such a fertile mindset. Should we all bow our heads in shame and prostrate our self’s at the feet of such an enlightened people, who wish for only one thing and that is a simple partnership.

Presumably this partnership will lead us all to a new life of fulfilment in a new prosperous and harmonious society based on such things as mountains that can speak to us and have feelings, which must not be upset or we will risk insulting the family representatives as well.

Sorry Chris – I am simply not buying what you are selling and no amount of sugar coating will change my view point based on simple reality. Call me simple, but I just can’t get my head around a partnership with anyone who believes rocks have feelings.

Then, less than 24 hours later the WHO Secretary General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus broadcasts the following plea:

In light of evolving evidence, WHO advises the governments should encourage the general public to wear masks where there is widespread transmission and physical distancing is difficult such as public transport and shops or in other confined of crowded environments.

Science was abused for political gain.

Either way, the conclusion is that they have no right whatsoever to demand complete assent to their claims and their policies.     I’ve not heard or read anything from Our local Green MP Dr Elizabeth Kerekere about the disaster (apart from a couple of tweets on her facebook immediately after the storms).

  Reminds me of when I was working on the access the Stadium years ago in Wellington.
  All the lawyers and judges and similar privileged members of society objected to access around that side in case the rowdy classes walked amoung them.
  A few years later when they found just how far they had to walk to their corporate boxes they had a change of heart and made inquiries about an extra access . . . . .

      Yeah I was thinking of the unaffordable purchase price (and large battery replacement cost if second hand) as factors for them being impractical as a daily driver for the median wage battler. Screwing around attempting to find charging stations and wasted time charging being other issues. That’s just the end user issues with them! China will no doubt produce cheaper and cheaper ones but at what cost to the environment and how much extra C02 output mining the rare minerals needed?

The green party list is out.
— 4 out of top 5 positions are female. 20/80 split
— 7 out of top ten spots (likely to be elected) are female. 30/70 split.

This is against the party constitution which called for gender equity.
The green party has the worst gender equity in the current parliament and will likely retain their dual crowns of worst gender equity and biggest carbon footprint per MP.
They hold the title of biggest hypocrites in perpetuity.

I just saw a great idea on interest.co.nz. Instead of pushing up interest rates to soak up liquidity and slow down spending, why not increase Kiwisaver contributions? That way the money will be retained by the individuals to be used in the future instead of just going to banks
