Cotard’s Syndrome: A mental illness whereby a person believes they are dead.

Koro syndrome: A mental illness where a person believes that their penises or vulva or nipples are shrinking into their bodies, and will eventually cause their deaths.

Ekbom’s syndrome: A mental illness where a person believes their skin is infested with insects.

Clinical lycanthropy: A mental illness where a person believes they are turning into an animal.

Clinical boanthropy: Similar to clinical lycanthropy, this is a mental illness where a person believes they are a cow.

Bucy Syndrome: A mental illness where a person has a desire to eat inedible objects, and sexual attraction to inanimate objects such as automobiles.

Now, convince me that a bearded man, born with XY chromosomes and a penis and yet thinks they are a woman isn’t suffering from a mental illness.

  I see in the UK a female Teacher in a Girls School has had to apologise after her 11 year old students staged a protest after she said “Good Afternoon, Girls!”
  
  Apparently one of the students doesn’t identify as a girl so they all started waving placcards with their pronouns on it.
  
  The teacher was forced to apologise because she can’t force her ideology on these students.

      That is not how “the science” works. There are many scientific readings, trends, demonstrable facts that do not support the Anthropogenic Global Warming narrative. There are also many “facts” from the global warming believers that are demonstrably false or distorted or manipulated. In science “facts” are debated and tested in an open manner where other scientists are given an opportunity to question the validity of these “facts” and prove or disprove them, and to publish their findings in reputable journals where other scientists can examine them.
      
      Instead we have a cabal of charlatans who get enormous amounts of funding to “prove” that Anthropogenic Warming is taking place. This includes heads of prominent University departments, editors of journals, etc. The press and governments worldwide give them the necessary cover to peddle their side of the story and “the facts”, while those who question their validity are not published, not funded and are derided in the press. This alone should make one suspicious of the narrative and the intent unless of course one does not have an inquiring mind or an understanding of scientific thesis and unquestionably believes “official” propaganda.

      There is no spectrum of sex anatomy or physionomy. There are those that are male, those that are female. In each of those two groups are those with disorders or defects that cause their sex anatomy and physionomy not to develop correctly. A human whose legs don’t develop to be able to walk isn’t some new species. He’s still a human, but just with a disorder or defect. Similarly with the sexes.

    Oh and a side note on the topic of following. Science can not be followed. It just stands, awaiting interpretation and debate. If science is followed it is no longer science. It has become dogma, and tyrants of all stripes have long used dogma to drive obedience.

  Yeah, but so what? Because if your next step, after you extract a concession that trans people are suffering from a mental illness, is to conclude that therefore they should be locked away in a lunatic asylum and subjected to forcible electro-convulsive therapy until they learn to pretend that they are no longer mentally ill – that would be a very different proposition from concluding that therefore they should be treated with kindness and compassion and provided with the medical assistance they need to be able to live with their condition.

        The WHO only removed Transgenderism from it’s list of Mental Illness in May of 2019.
        
        This, to me was a retrograde step.
        
        If your sense of self is so far removed from observed reality that you feel the need to mutilate yourself to fit that mental image, then to me that is a clear mental disorder.
        
        It doesn’t mean that these individuals should not be treated with dignity and respect, but I am ofetn bemused by the fact than when Biology and Identity do not match, the only acceptable treatment seems to be to mutilate the body, rather than address the identity issue.
        
        The whole notion that in the case of trangenderism, the body is ALWAYS wrong, when stated in this way, just goes to show how crazy the idea is.

        He was clearly referring to the fact that you were drawing a very long bow when jumping to a conclusion that kk was advocating something he never mentioned.
        
        The fact you couldn’t see that says a lot about your deductive powers and reasoning.
        
        The first thing I’d do if I was King of the World is to stop reinforcing their mental illness by agreeing with them, especially when doing so defies reality, logic, and biology. Forcing the rest of society to accept their alternative reality is even worse for said society, especially children, so I’d definitely start with that.

    Very few mental patients are locked up or given shock therapy (or should I rather cause it treatment as the therapeutic benefits are sketchy).
    
    Most mental patients are treated with kindness and compassion and are helped to live with their condition.
    
    But that does not mean of society bending itself to conform to the mental patients’ views of reality.
    
    My mother was a mental patient (and one who was given shock treatment when it was fashionable). At one stage she believed that plastic bags would cause everyone to die, going so far as to confront supermarket managers about selling rice etc in plastic bags.
    
    Should the supermarket manager have stopped stocking rice in plastic bags?

    The lie is in the academic concept. Not all are delusional. Because what they are changing is not their “Sex” but their “Gender identity”. And then society have just regularly conflated the terms.
    
    As Hipkins said when asked about womanhood, he said “you can change your Gender Identity. ” Why? Because Gender Identity is a social construct, an idea. That’s why gender can be a spectrum or you can identify with it. It is not science. It is social science.
    
    The problem we have is they have stolen the language of a biologically sexed female aka woman. To make it seem like if you identify as a woman, you are a woman. They are interpreting that bathrooms and sports and prisons are seperate because of Gender, when in fact the Human Rights act doesn’t include gender and recognises separate spaces based on Sex.
    
    They conflate the terms in law because going forward you can change your birth certificate based on your gender. But they are not adding gender as a separate category on the birth certificate. They are changing the record of your sex based on your gender identity.
    
    Gender and Gender identity was invented by one of NZ’s most famous scientists Dr John Money who frankly should have been put in jail for pedophilia see the monstrous study he did on David Reimer that led to David’s suicide.

For him, gender included not only one’s status as a man or a woman, but was also a matter of personal recognition, social assignment, or legal determination; not only on the basis of one’s genitalia but also on the basis of somatic and behavioural criteria that go beyond genital differences.”

      The terms sex, gender and gender identity are all exactly the same thing. You cannot have a “gender identity” that is different to your gender without being mentally ill, and your sex and your gender are one and the same. I struggle to understand why this is even up for discussion.
      
      It’s like saying “I have a Nissan Maxima but I like to think of it as a Ferrari Testarossa. I painted it red, and put a new badge on it, and you must all acknowledge it’s a Ferrari and call it that. If you don’t, you’re a bigoted trans-car-phobe.”
      
      Well you’re most welcome to do that, but you’ve immediately signaled to the world that you’re bat-shit crazy, and everybody (except the other delusional Nissan/Ferrari owners) realises it and doesn’t pretend that it’s a Ferrari Testarossa.

      But what is gender identity that makes it distinct. What separates gender identity from other identities? If it isn’t pinned down to sex, the “gender” part basically becomes meaningless. It’s just identity, which ends up becoming just personality and likes. There are people now who say their pronouns are demon/demon-self, there are others who say their gender is cake because they have a light and fluffy personality (these aren’t trolls either).
      
      If gender identity is a social construct, the moment you disconnect it from sex, it loses all meaning.

  In the USA the Boston Childrens Hospital has a major pediatric gender transition surgical programme for children.

  This includes full surgery for young teens.
  
  The parents of these children are cheering them on.
  
  Money drives this in the USA. In New Zealand we just don’t have the surgical and medical teams who could do this or the health insurers who would pay for it.

      Yeah not so much. An acquaintance who was a counsellor worked in an anorexia clinic in Wellington – live in residential. She said it was horrendous. Low recovery rates, a number of deaths. It is mental illness that is difficult to treat. High relapse rates.

  IMHO the Maorification of New Zealand will be the downfall of the Left. Pushing all things Maori down citizens throats doesnt put bread of their table. it doesnt give them better health care. it doeant give their children a better education. It doesnt fix the broken water pipes. It doesnt ensure law and order. it doesnt protect the vulnerable of our society.
  
  What it does is enrich a very small group who proclaim they are Maori even if only a small fraction of their ancestry is Maori and the rest is WhiteMotherf…..

  Unsurprisingly as you are not an estemed purveyor of The Science(TM).
  
  You see, every single one of those syndromes are states of being that our fine medical industry can affirm with medication and/or surgical intervention.
  
  For example the modern accepted affirmation for ‘Cotard’s Syndrome’ is called ‘Voluntary Euthenasia’. A very effective treatment I hear.
  
  ‘Ekbom’s Syndrome’ is treated with ‘Scabies’ (cleverly medicated by withholding Ivermectin).
  
  Repeat after me; “there is no such thing as mental illness”. Repeat 100 times and then go look in the mirror and decide what you really want to be!

  I believe there should be more focus on the reasons behind this transgender movement.
  
  Taking conspiracy theories out of the equation (depopulation program), I can’t help but notice there is a lot of money involved. The surgeries, the pharmaceuticals, the psychiatrists, the paid activist groups etc. This is a quickly growing and highly profitable industry.
  
  All of this makes me consider the larger macro-economic picture. Technology and processes are constantly improving, reducing the overall demand for labour in society. The reality is that there is much less “productive” work available in society. If there is no way to earn an income productively, then you must earn an income through deception.
  
  I hypothesise that we are seeing massive growth in deception based industries due to technological improvement. There are simply too many people and not enough “real” work for them to do.       No in actuality I’m comfortable with this approach. I was one of those voters that voted for National every election until now. Last 3-4 cycles I have been having internal debates as to why as my politics is more suited to the hard right hand side of Act.
      
      Don’t get me wrong Act isn’t perfect by a long stretch but they are far better than National, don’t have an army of middle management corporate woke like National and have better policies by the main. @ 10%+ means it is now not a wasted vote.

20 April: Labour announces changes in RMA to Fast Track Renewable energy Projects.

23 March: National announces Education policy including focus on Literacy and Numeracy, with a return to standardised Testing to make sure that students are achieving.

19 April: Labour announces new education policies stating they are slowing down the pace of change, with a focus on Literacy and Numeracy, while bringing back new standards.

It’s so obvious that Labour are simply copying the homework from Labour, and yet the MSM is not calling them out on it.

I would be keeping my powder dry as well if I were the National Party. It’s no good feeding ideas to a government bereft of their own.

Am not surprised to see that the Minister of Education and her Teacher sycophants have decided to “delay” the upgrading of NCEA as the Teachers are finding it to difficult to implement it in “such a short time”.
Remember that this was trialed last year to ensure of the veracity of the educational upgrade.
The results were an absolute failure indicating the quality of our education and Teachers were abysmal.
So now they are running away whilst they can –
A very sad indictment of our Children’s futures.

    Wouldn’t be surprised if the morning taken up spending hours and hours with their Comms teams perfecting their scripted answers and attack lines followed by an ample morning tea of course, which is the cue for the comms team to return to work to their offices to email the nation’s news editors about today’s Labour govt agendas, talking points and just quietly some tips like any dirt dug up on National and ACT politicians and also wannabe candidates.
    
    Mind you there probably is a second smaller group that simply don’t need to waste their time doing this each morning, they simply make themselves unavailable day after day, week after week, so they are not held accountable whenever there are problems with their portfolio. Looks like the likes of Minister of Corrections Kelvin Davis has this art perfected!

Paul Goldfinch, National Party Justice spokesman writes:

New Zealand is one of the world’s oldest continuous democracies. Of this we are rightly proud.

One of the pillars of democracy is that every adult has an equal say in who governs them, and through that vote, an equal say in important government decisions affecting their lives.

Some of those decisions are about water, which is essential for life. All of us have a shared interest in the reliable supply of clean drinking water, efficient wastewater systems and resilient stormwater – the so-called “Three Waters”.

But the idea of an equal say in civic and national affairs – which most Kiwis have taken for granted for decades, is under direct attack by the Labour Government.

The current example is the Three Waters reforms – however rebranded. The Government proposes 10 new entities that will oversee local water services, guided by boards appointed by representative groups that are 50 per cent Māori and 50 per cent everyone else.

The minister in charge, Kieran McAnulty, concedes that the proposals have moved away from a one-person, one-vote approach to democracy.

He followed up with the extraordinary statement: “There are provisions that we have in this country that wouldn’t stand up to a purely academic democratic framework, but that’s not how we work in New Zealand.”

The view that honouring the Treaty of Waitangi requires 50:50 decision-making between Maori and everyone else has been adopted by the Labour Government for the water reforms.

The National Party rejects that view because 50:50 co-governance in matters of important public policy is inconsistent with equal voting rights and equal standards of citizenship.

Sadly, this piece from Goldsmith resides behind the Herald’s paywall. I say “sadly” because it is a piece that should be read far more widely than by those who subscribe to the Herald. I’m tempted to post the whole piece, lengthy though it is, bit I would likely incur the wrath of DPF and his moderators, and rightly so.

But I will post Goldfinch’s conclusion, because it clearly articulates National’s position on co-governance:

If the logic holds at local government that Māori votes should carry more weight than everyone else’s, how long is it before an argument is made for changes at the central government level? Perhaps an Upper House with 50:50 representation?

Ultimately, this takes New Zealand in the direction of two standards of citizenship.

Show me another country in the world that works well and has different standards of citizenship, based on ethnicity.

National supports public services being delivered the best way to meet need, and in many cases Māori providers will do the best job. But National does not support the co-governance of public services, or separate systems for Māori and non-Māori. National supports one standard of citizenship for all.

Meantime, Prime Minister Chris Hipkins, like his predecessor, has never explained or justified the Canterbury Bill and has failed to put forward a coherent explanation for the 50:50 arrangements in the Three Waters legislation. He plays the latter down as advisory, which is nonsense.

But what is despicable is New Zealand’s Prime Minister characterising opposition to his Three Waters proposals as “dog whistle racism”.

Mr Hipkins dishonours his office by heading a government that makes profound constitutional changes, without explaining or justifying them, and lazily denouncing any criticism as racism.

We all deserve better than that.

Paul Goldsmith is not the most eloquent speaker, but when he puts his and National’s views in writing, he makes a very compelling argument.

What senior Cabinet (management) positions was Luxon (Seymour) promoted to and what is his experience implementing large scale change in large scale organisation’s successfully?

Which positive National (ACT) policies were implemented in their last term of goverment which still exist today?

How does baseless name calling of Hipkins, Labour, (Luxon, National,) and anyone who asks for the detail you believe supports your position help National (ACT)?

We wouldn’t want voters to fall into the trap of voting for a party without assessing their polcies and their talent to implement policies again would we

Then, just to drive the lesson home, glue them to one of the push-pull trolleys they have on the railways and make them travel the railways all around the country.

  The problem (from Labour’s point of view) is that not all 20 DHBs were disfunctional. Their PR problem was that some DHBs were showing up the others and making a mockery of the usual Labour excuses: racism, impossible, years of neglect, etc.
  
  Better to bring them under central control so the Party can control the message. Notice that measles vaccination is now due to “cultural barriers” at doctors and isolated communities with the only solution being race based health provision. Previously, several DHBs would have proved this to be a lie.
  
  Labour learning during the lockdowns, having a “single source of truth” makes government much easier.

Commonwealth Games but with bipartisan support? What a joke.

We have FIFA Womens World Cup happening soon. That event was secured with Auckland Council funding some years ago (just like Melbourne events are secured with taxpayer funds). Auckland Council is now planning to stop funding this sort of event attraction in future.

Why? Because central government takes all the GST from tourism ($3.8B annually) and spends it on other stuff, rather than sharing it with local councils to help improve tourism infrastructure.

Locals get annoyed with tourism because they aren’t seeing the benefits, and rightly so.

Now we have smug central government politicians saying the Commonwealth Games would be great for tourism.

They are complete muppets. You couldn’t make it up.

Apparently he tells us that the majority of nurses don’t want unvaccinated former colleagues reinstated!
Such a position is nonsensical from a scientific point of view, if you believe in the vaccines and are vaccinated then why would you be worried about being around an unvaccinated person?
But we now know with absolute certainty that the vaccine doesn’t stop transmission or infection. That it looks increasingly like it makes people more prone to infection.

Who is this Rob Zorn? He sounds like a completely unhinged Branch Covidian. Surely he doesn’t actually represent the views of rank and file members?
Though as one of the comments says, maybe they actually don’t want those former colleagues back because they failed to back them at the time and are feeling guilty…..

  It may be true that the mojority of nurses don’t want their unvaxed colleagues back, it may also be true that the Union is pulling their figures out of an orifice, either way we need more nurses and the simpla answer is for the health ministry to offer an apology, compensation and employment support to nurses willing rejoin the workforce.

  The only way to correct this issue would be to put in the same amount of effort correcting the wrong impressions that people have.
  
  Even allowing for the previous “scientific consensus” being that the vaccine was great, times have moved on and we now understand that the vaccine wasn’t so great.
  
  Sure, this might look like back pedalling etc, but in the long term it is better to be honest with people.
  
  If the medical industry keeps singing the same tune, then it can only increase the mistrust.

Interesting excerpt from a $tuff interview today with TV reporter Daniel Faitaua on his return from three years working in the UK-

“Once back in New Zealand, Faitaua says he wasn’t prepared for how his home country – and its citizens – had changed.

“I think I suffered a reverse culture shock,” he says, six months after his return.

“Three and a half years ago, you could walk down the street and Kiwis would be so friendly. Now, I feel like people are just so closed off, which is not the Kiwi way that I remember.

“I feel like I’ve come back to this new world, this new era, where there’s been, I sense, a lot of tension and a lot of division. Everyone you talk to seems to be upset about something. This is not a New Zealand I recognise.

“I’m still trying to find my way to belong here, in a country I really felt I belonged to. It’s just weird.”

I apologise for turning back to blogs of yesterday regarding Maori navigation. Many of the comments were very ill informed. Can I suggest that bloggers read “We, the Navigators ”
The Ancient Art of Landfinding in the Pacific by David Lewis. This excellent and thoroughly researched book shows that Polynesians were skillful Navigators. There are a number of excellent books on how navigation occurred in other parts of the world and how it was improved. Would suggest the following reads;
Sons of Sinbad by Allan Villiers, Longitude by Dava Sobel, and Sextant by David Barrie. Professional Navigators have huge respect for Polynesian Navigators. OK, claims that Maori reached Antarctica and returned are to be polite dubious but this in no way should denigrate the exploits of these Navigators.

    Early European exploration was in part searching for a great southern continent that was assumed to exist. The nature of exploration.
    
    In the case of sea faring Polynesians, they were well capable of travelling out of sight of land – and could see birds flying off to ‘somewhere’ or even find strange driftwood washing up on beaches and reasonably expect there was other land out there waiting to be discovered. It is assumed that there were failures, and deaths, but over many centuries the Polynesians reached out to distant Easter Island, NZ, and even it seemed South America.
    
    Rather a silly question, and quite evident that Polynesians discovered NZ, and made 2 way journeys in the earliest period of discovery.
    
    Also ironic that some people who want to deny Maori any achievements can apparently believe that Vikings, Phoenicians or Celts reached NZ. Kind of like they never looked at a map, or really thought it through very hard or logically.

    I will ignore your fatuous comment about the Chatham Islands which clearly shows your prejudices.Would point out Maori were heavily involved in the early trade around the NZ coast and to Australia as vessel owners, skippers, and crew. They ordered many cutters and schooners from Pakeha builders and assisted them. With the recent passing of Sir Hector Busby the great Maori navigator New Zealand lost a great son but his memory lives on in the school he started. New Zealand should be justly proud of its Maritime history whether it be Maori or European.

        It is a matter of historic record, that Maori traded surplus, such and Waikato exporting to Auckland and even Sydney. They also crewed and owned vessels as part of trade.
        
        I am not one of those who exalt Maori as special people and uniformly wonderful. It is sad that you can’t even believe something as basic as this.
        They even had flour mills, and grew crops, and wore human clothes – if you can believe that.

    What is known as ‘Maori’ are the people that Captain Cook found here. Maori of what is called the ‘classic Maori’ period no longer made long ocean going journeys. There was not the same pressure as with people on small islands, and they could face ‘inwards’ more than a person on a coral attol.
    Consider NZ is a massive landmass compared to what they came from.
    Ancient Polynesians were great sea farers. I would not say this is true of the classic-period Maori, but for their ancestors it was.
    The anti-intellectualism here (“books iz for stoopids”) is a ironic considering how we scoff at the woke choosing “Feelz over Facts”.

• single-use plastic produce bags, plates, bowls, and cutlery will be banned
• the sale of single-use plastic straws will be restricted
• a transition to compostable plastic produce labels by 2025 begins’.

Apart from the madness of these laws there will be unintended consequences. A very expensive kumara, passion fruit or tomatoe will slip into a carrier bag at self service because we are all absent minded at times aren’t we? I am sure the shoplifters have already worked out the many ways.

People say Africa like it it a country, it is a continent like Europe, it doesn’t make sense to him. “Most black people in this part of the world are mongrels’. AA is just another derogatory term like others used in the past… referencing the N word. ‘I am very proud to be black, but black is not all I am’.

Bringing this back to me… I equally hate being identified as a European New Zealander. I want to be identified as a New Zealander. I am very proud to have European ancestry, but European is hardly anything of who I am.

University of Otago to cull several hundred jobs. Ouch. And need to cull $60million.

They don’t say which departments have seen a downturn.

“While international students are up by about 495, domestic students are down by about 670.”

So a net -175 domestic students lost. And the international students pay more than domestic. Say they pay $15,000 each per year. That’s only $2.6 million. Why are they making a $60mill loss.

Woah on HDPA’s show she outlined aspects of the IPCA’s report on the Police’s response to the Parliament occupation.

So Grant Robertson, Speaker Mallard and Parker as AG (no sign of MIA Ardern as usual) spoke to Police Commissioner Andrew Coster and that night Coster gave the order for the Police to clear the occupation the next day. It was only day 3 and Labour were clearly rattled.

But hang on, what about the so called independence of the Police not to be directed by Govt politicians?

Even if, cough cough, there was no directive from Mallard, Robertson and Parker, PC Coster decided to act giving orders the next day – what a clusterf* because the Police were not prepared to take on the protesters.

In other words Labour and the Police Commissioner compromised the safety of the front-line Police – shouldn’t there be a health and safety prosecution against the Coster and Mallard/Robertson/Parker?

The other thing is unprepared Police then meant they were vulnerable to the protesters and the Police may have then acted more violently in frustration (with lack of equipment) thus endangering protesters from Police losing their cool.

All round it was bad for both the Police Officers at the front line and the protesters at the front line – all because Grant Robertson, Trevor Mallard and Parker, out of their depth normally anyway, thought they could order the Police Commissioner “to do something”.

Coster is also culpable because instead of standing up to a bunch of left-wing former-protester Labour MP hypocrites and telling them “No” – not until the Police had their safety gear – he complied.

Was always appalled by Grant Robertson and Trevor Mallard anyway but this now demonstrates they are much, much worse as human beings they really are scumbags who deserve to be remembered by history as Labour’s bullies who wrecked and divided NZ and without the slightest bit of self-awareness or regret at the harm they have done our society in all sorts of ways (including the economy etc).

Also about today’s ICPA report and Labour’s response – there would have been hell to pay if this was a National Govt doing that.

The MSM would have felled forests worth of copy and caused electricity shortages as the left wing and msm thrashed out criticism after criticism on their keyboards (with their servers running at max capacity), day after day demanding resignations and damning the National Prime Minister, in fact probably trying to fell the Govt.

This time around and being Labour in charge … mostly tumbleweeds from the rest of the MSM.

The MSM should be angry at this and angry at Labour and Speaker Mallard for controlling them and preventing the MSM from reporting properly on the ground when Mallard banned them from Parliaments forecourt. No wonder the protesters were saying the MSM was in Labour’s pocket! C’mon MSM as the saying goes, get some guts! Labour prevented you from doing your job to the detriment of your reputation and people’s trust!

I feel like the correct definition of a woke person is a person who bases their reality on opinions rather than facts.

I’ve noticed a consistent pattern when (attempting) to debate woke family members. The debate always boils down to a difference in understanding or acceptance of basic facts.

On the trans debate:
I say women don’t have penises. They can’t define what a woman is.

On abortion:
I say life begins at conception. They can’t tell me when they believe life begins.

On climate change:
I say it’s overblown and mostly natural. They can’t tell me how much CO2 is in the atmosphere.

The same issue keeps popping up over and over again. The core issue is that the “woke” have no interest in truth, facts or evidence. They only care what the majority opinion/consensus is, and go with that. Extreme intellectual laziness.

  I listened to this and am now feeling depressed. As always David spoke well but his summation that the election will come down to the wire and we can easily have another Labour/Greens/Maori govt is too horrible to contemplate

Labour ad claiming 65% drop in Ram Raids.
So anther Prime Minister Chris Hipkins just like the previous Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern cries fowl over the amount of misinformation being used in NZ Politics but believes it is right for his Government to tell lies to dupe the public on Ram Raids.
