Mad cat ladies protesting at a Canterbury hunting competition are outraged after they were confronted by children shouting “meat, meat, meat” and taunting them with dead cats.

But organisers said that the activists provoked the incident by calling the kids “murderers”.

  I would have thought the likes of Forest and Bird and perhaps even DOC would have come out supporting the culling of feral cats?
  
  After all they support the culling of wallabies, wild horses, tar and deer etc.
  
  Plus support 1080 poison drops which apparently kill a variety of wildlife (and bird life … and the odd dog when people take them for bush walks)??
  
  How strange they remain silent …. surely it’s not because they are “anti-farmer” or something?

    @nathie – more evidence that most of the green movement are delusional ideologues. Like DOC who successfully translocated endangered weka to an offshore island in 1951.
    60 years later, someone in the Department decided they would like different types of bird to be protected. The problem was, the native weka are a ground feeding bird and have been know to eat the eggs of other birds and even the young chicks. A dilema!
    DOC’s response? Bombard the island with 15 tonnes of brodifacoum. Ostensibly to get rid of the rat population. However, there was a resident population of around 500 native weka. Also, many other native birds like hawk, kereru, fantail, waxeye etc etc.
    
    When challenged about this, DOC obviously realising the optics weren’t great, made a token gesture of removing 64 of the native weka and moving them to Mount Bruce, in the Wairarapa. A number died in transit. Who knows how the others fared after being taken from a sub tropical island to what is a bitterly cold location in winter.
    
    The irony of all of this is, the birds they wanted to encourage are migratory seabirds, they aren’t even native species……..
    They decided they could be God and make decisions around what is to live and what is to die. In this instance they slaughtered hundreds of native birds in pursuit of ideological fantasy.
    
    The whole organisation is now riddled with careerist ideologues who quite likely are genuine and well meaning. The problem is, they are delusional. Just like the climate ideologues are, just like the covid elimination ideologues were.
    
    Fantasists, all of them, but they have the power to cause enormous damage to all of us.

      Pity Justice has moved on and now protects animals that threaten a way of life those petal’s forebears once enjoyed and now threaten, maim and even kill innocents.

  Countries that have race based leglislation and regulation are divided societies. Prior to the introduction of such legislation and regulation NZ was a cohesive society.
  Now even one of the most basic necessities of life health is decided according to race (a breach of the UN Charter and the hippocratic oath).
  Until the citizens elect a Government that will repeal this legislation and regulation and enact a law that requires 75% of the Parliament to approve any race based legislation or regulation NZ will continue to be divided.

        Ghost – it isn’t set in stone, if it is any use strategically I’ll use it, but I haven’t figured out the difference yet.
        
        Basically I’m highlighting the stupidity of the whole concept of identifying as Maori. It’s as inane as identifying as a woman when you’re a man. The vast majority of Maori have far higher percentage of other genetic material than Maori.
        
        The point is, if everyone identifies as Maori then there can be no preferential treatment so there would be no extra ‘Maori’ seats. Everyone running for any seat would be ‘Maori’ except they wouldn’t.
        
        To save all the angst, the best idea of all would be to abolish race based electoral, health and education systems. Basically any system that gives preferential treatment for one person over another.
        
        Anyway, I’ll figure it out and make my mind up before the timeframe to decide runs out.

        If so, how could this happen?
        Let’s say that in 1223 AD several groups of Rarotongan natives sail to New Zealand. (I’ll call the ancestral home island group Rarotonga simply for convenience.)
        
        Eight hundred years later, would the Maori genes have mutated enough to distinguish a Maori genotype from an original Rarotongan one?
        
        One way that the Maori could have a unique genotype is if the population that stayed behind in Rarotonga was wiped out by disease, famine or invasion by other races. Only the New Zealand population of once-we-were-Rarotongans would remain.
        
        Is it possible to genetically test for unique “Maori” genes that are not found anywhere else in the Pacific? Can today’s genetic tests tell the difference between a self-identifying Maori, a Rarotongan, a Samoan, or a Tongan?

  Walking back after a deer hunt..always have scope wound down to low magnification..light one up with the head torch (huge green eyes) and its all over.

    By all means, shoot moggies, but shooting after dark on public land specifically is illegal IIRC.
    
    There was a lady brushing teeth with a headlamp on that got shot in the head & killed many years back – mistaken for an eye shine, and those people were: A: shooting from a vehicle and B: shooting after dark and C: shooting near a track or hut, all of which are No Nos.

    Kids raised as hunters have very clear ethical boundaries around what is fair game and not.
    While a feral deer that just jumped onto the wrong side of the DOC boundary may be a slightly grey area shooting/torturing the neighbors moggy is something more likely contemplated by a bed wetter as yourself.

    These kids aren’t going to wander into someone else’s property with a gun to shoot random things. That’s a stupid contention.
    
    The whole hunt was organised, it was on land that is supposed to support native fauna.
    
    If someone’s microchipped cat has wandered into that bush, it isn’t there to korero with the local weka. It’s there to kill it or it’s offspring.

    I don’t think this is any comparison to torturing or creating sadism. Encouraging rural kids to take part in pest control is great.
    
    Pest control, and that includes feral cats, is a good thing.
    This is not going through the urban or suburban centres knocking off fur babies either.
    If there was a beloved pet roaming onto distant farms and being caught out in the pest cull, then that is a sort of collateral damage, even if it was considered a scenario.

Thanks to all those hospo workers, apprentices, tradies, retail staff etc out there. Your contribution is very much appreciated.

Fortunately Victoria Uni has ‘paused’ its $10million debt underwrite with ‘only’ $1mill spent so far (just call it money, guys) for a new Pasifika fale building on the the waterfront. Be fun to know the reasoning behind that decision as it is not a uni project and uni connection seems tenuous.

Maybe the uni was flush at the time, looking around for a suitable virtue signal?

      Education (when I went there in the 60’s) was essentially free for the student. Universities (essentially 100% state funded) were not in dire financial straits.
      
      Now – uni is not free for the student. Universities (mainly state funded) appear to be in dire financial straits.

        Ian you know full well how we have arrived at the current situation.
        
        Entry to Uni was very restricted when free (not really free – early 90s its was something in the order of a few hundy a year and basically funded by central government).
        
        Entry opened up and more options started being offered with the introduction of large student cost supported by the student loan scheme which started operating in 1993
        
        The prevailing view was a Uni education was a pathway that should be open to all. A delusion as it has turned out…in my view. Lots of dumbed down content, lots of pointless BAs in BS costing the student a small fortune in debt
        
        The old it was free in your day chant is just rubbish…. A much small Unii sector turned out a lot more quality professionals who paid a lot of tax on earnings to fund ongoing Uni sector provision.
        
        Todays Uni and wuder tertiary sector is chocker full of crap course turning out a lot poorly skilled people with a chunk of debt. Been great for academics, been questionable for NZ overall…

    Nobody gets university education “for free”.
    
    Even if you don’t pay a cent, you’re giving up that time which is lost income. Time is money and all that.
    
    As a result, more and more people want value out of their education.
    
    Whether or not that semester-long basket weaving course is “free”, it still consumes 10 hours a week (or whatever) over 16 weeks. 160 hours at the minimum wage is still ~$4000.
    
    Odds are, you’d have learned a whole lot more spending an afternoon on youtube.

    It’s been many a long year since Uni was free Ian. Even better, students had to borrow money from a bank, not from the taxpayer. And they had to pay it back in short order. Universities these days provide a whole pile of courses that are utterly worthless, and get funded for them.

  Notice the language of the left. The problem is always “competition” and the answer is always government funding.
  In other words, the problem is allowing ordinary people to have choices. The danger is that students, and their parents, will opt to take better courses at better universities. The danger is that parents might prefer their kids to attend a safe functional university in Christchurch rather than a woke, expensive university in a crime ridden Wellington.
  
  Secondary school teachers are looking on and saying “we told you what would happen if we allowed parents’ choice”.

      Why surprise, my wife received a letter from the Prime Minister with the now apparently normal Maori openings etc. For that she did not bother reading it.
      However the date of the letter is 30 June 2023, I presume that was to give a few extra days grace for achievement of all the great things that he stated that I was not aware of had ever been.

      Culturally we’re at a loss here. Not using Maori greetings is now consideed odd for professional emails. But more than that, I never know how to address people. I work for a charitable organisation with an average age above 60. I’m half that so I address people formally as {title} {surname}. I’ve had multiple replies from said people to instead refer to them just by their first names. Yet I imagine if I did that, someone else would take exception. We used to have nice, tidy rules for this; I remember my parents teaching these to me. Now it seems we have no consensus.

      Yup, but most of the universities are filled with bullshit studies. We see more and more time spent trying to support them (eg. STEM morphing into STEAM and Cindy’s “free first year”).
      
      I’d say you’re wasting your time learning computer programming in a university any more (well a bricks and mortar university anyway). All that gives you is a bit of paper to wave around, but little real training.
      
      30 years ago, universities were at the front of computer science research. Now they’re lagging behind industry by 5 to 10 years – especially in smaller places like NZ.
      
      I was recently looking around for some MSc-level computer science stuff and could find nothing worth doing at any NZ university. Found a bit of useful online material elsewhere though.
      
      Good to see the NZ university arts programmes are in free fall. They’ve been doing so for a long time and that is only increasing as people want value out of their time and money.
      
      According to this RNZ article in 2018, the humanities seems to have peaked in 2010 and have been sliding ever since. That was back in 2018. Since then things have fallen off a cliff.
      
      This is what the “free first year” was really about: it was not a gift to students, but a gift to useless, irrelevant people providing useless, irrelevant courses at universities.

        By the time these children have done 3, 4, even 5 years at UNI they have lost all incentive to work. Getting a degree in political science at age 22, 23, they are still children. They will never help NZ economically. Just an office job doing nothing and get a gong at the end.
        New Zealand needs manufacturers, builders, sparkies, plumbers. chippies. You know, real jobs. NZ can not continue importing without exporting. Think farms.

They are the parts of the university that spawn new far leftists. What I would like to know is for how long can a government fund a business model that doesn’t work anymore? Young people have smelled the rat and are no longer prepared to get into massive debt so they can be indoctrinated and then sent out into the world with a completely useless degree and end up working in hospo anyway may have just as well cut out the middle man.

        The $500m is what was budgeted for tertiary education in the May Budget. However a big chunk of that was to bail out the failed polytechnic mega-merger Te Pukenga. This will very likely be additional expenditure, requiring reprioritisation of someone’s pet policy, or more borrowing.

    Have a nephew who was thinking about going to uni, steered him towards being an electrician instead and he will soon be earning more than his parents as he moves through his apprenticeship. Early 20s and bringing in more than enough money to be comfortable.
    
    I advise those of you who have kids coming up to school leaving age to tell them consider the trades if they are remotely practical. Paid to train, paid t learn, no student loans, and once they are outside of the training institutions, minimal wokery.

    Minister, Kiritapu Allan, says this will ensure the ski season goes ahead.

      I dont get this. Yes by keeping the field open this season local businesses are protected and may not fail. BUT, this is a commercial world, businesses go bust, does the tax payer need to bail every failed business out? If the Warehouse goes bust does the govt need to take it over?

    Not sure but the commercial skifield is just that – commercial, but is it on Tuwharetoa Land? Most of the forestry land around there is owned by Tuwharetoa. They lease it to whoever plants and harvests the trees.
    Or so I was told by a Maori bloke in the Turangi Cosy Club. Hatrick was his surname. He could speak English but not write it, so he signed the Visitor’s Book by drawing a hat. Bloody nice guy. My Parents lived down there. Smoked trout, give me some.

      I believe Tuwharetoa gifted the Mountain to New Zealand so the DoC concession is normal business activity but clearly one from the Tuku business center of economics can see gold in that there mountain so an Indian giver reverts to Maori, no surprises?
      My understanding of the economics of Ski Field operations has profits and investment needs rarely leaving distributable profits.
      Any creaming by Tuwharetoa will be a drain on excess income over costs never being available for reinvestment.
      Ruapehu is the harshest environment of any of the NZ fields with icing , winds and closed days ever recurring problems.
      My experiences include in excess of a dozen of them from Remarkables to Whakapapa

  The only real education is to “learn how to learn”. Once you’ve done that then there’s a fire hose of information and real education available.

  It’s a recipe for the disater we’re now in.

Yesterday I was referred to hospital by my GP. Due to the nature of the ailment he insisted I have an ambulance. After waiting for over an hour the ambulance service rang and said they wouldn’t be attending for several hours and it might be better to “self transport “. On arrival I was directed to the A&E this was at 2 pm approximately at around 5pm I was seen by the triage nurse to whom I gave all the referral paperwork supplied by my GP she gave me a painkiller and an anti inflammatory and sent me back to the standing room only waiting room . By around 7pm I was informed there were no beds available. The lady next to me whose son was coughing blood had been waiting for an X-ray since 11am there was an older lady with a suspected broken arm who at about this time approached the receptionist and said she had been waiting since 11.30am and was diabetic and didn’t have her meds with her and needed them. I could go on but I’m sure you get my drift. Turns out the ambulances were all ramped up and there were no beds so the whole situation was a complete break down of the system. At 7 pm I left and went home as I couldn’t see any point in being there and could literally have sat there all night or conceivably until a bed became available. Just before I left a nurse came out with an arm full of files and basically did a roll call I counted 10 names that didn’t respond obviously gone home too.

    It doesn’t need more money. It needs the money spent better.
    
    There are numerous issues leading to staffing crisis in nursing and straight money is just one of those. Nurses are leaving the country and leaving the profession. A year ago I met a senior nurse who was looking at giving up and getting a factory job.
    
    There is no shortage of money. For example, there’s massive money to piss away on “free fees” at universities which are really hand outs to humanities lecturers etc, as well as $200/hr consultants on useless vanity projects and billions for various NGOs that achieve very little.
    
    Which would you rather have:
    * One more lecturer in women’s studies in Otago university or two nurses in Duneeden hospital?
    * One more consultant doing reports on potential cycle bridges across Auckland harbour or five more nurses at Middlemore?
    * An extra plane flying to China or 4 more nurses, for a whole year, at hospitals of your choosing?
    
    Labour is not choosing the option that leads to more nurses.

    Step 2 would be no racial division in Health NZ.
    
    Step 3 employ Doctors like my Phillipino neighbour – a qualified Doctor who tells me he has no track to practice in New Zealand – what a waste. Strangely his wife, a theatre nurse was taken on straight away.

      I really don’t get that. Surely most medical (or other professional or trade) knowledge doesn’t change from nation to nation.
      So our new arrival would need to be up to speed on technical language in English, relevant local technical knowledge (e.g., a plumber moving to Queenstown from Tonga might need to learn about plumbing in a snow zone) and local legislative requirements.
      Or is the problem that we trust the education provided by the nursing school overseas, but not their medical school?

        The NZ medical profession makes it as hard as possible to come to NZ and practise. While I accept it is important to have quality control and people who know what they are doing, it has always been a protection racket, looking after the locals.
        I flatted with a Turkish doctor many years ago. With the hoops to jump through, it was to hard, so moved to Australia and last time I saw her, she had a medical practice in Sydney. Furthermore, by being registered in Oz, she could work in NZ but the reverse wasn’t true.
        I doubt this situation has improved. In fact with the Māori requirements, it will have got worse.

        My gp’s practise has an African doctor, German doctor, American doctor a Chinese doctor that they hired two months ago. Hospital is full of foreign doctors and nurse, we have two very good South African orthopaedic surgeons and one from Dubai. Last blood test I did was a Fijian technician. I had an X-ray 3 months ago done by a New Yorker who had just moved here.
        
        Although I do have a friend who’s daughter was a a senior X-ray technician that moved here and has been told to apply in a year when her English is better. Nothing wrong with her English.
        
        I met a South African gp who was working the weekend clinic, owns his own practise, been here a few decades. His wife has told him if labour get back in they are moving because it’s starting to resemble everything they left to come here.

Get rid of separate racially based health care – and I’m not talking about the newly established Maori Health, fire at least 50% of the non-medical staff in hospitals, fire at least 50% of MoH staff, name and shame those who thought that fewer beds were needed in our newer hospitals despite an increasing population, and get out of the UN migration compact as we do not have the resources or infrastructure to accept the current numbers of migrants. Suddenly the frontline staff would be under less pressure and would once again feel that they are appreciated and fewer would resign.

    Ian I’m afraid I don’t have a short term solution, I’m not sure that there is one. Equally I’m not sure that the solution will be found in any amount of deck chair rearranging within the health system. It’s taken a fair amount of ideological vandalism to wreck the country’s economy and institutions and the solution I feel will have to be a broad fronted reflection of that. It appears to me that so many things are interconnected, as one blogger points out the beds are there but not available because there are no staff. There are no staff because they are leaving the country and we can’t replace them because of the same reason and that is the country is not attractive anymore. The nurse from the Phillipines has the same choice as the nurse from Palmerston North. Why as a health professional would I come here? Failing education system, failing infrastructure, run away crime, health system collapsing, inflation, comparatively low wages, juvenile media and a society being ripped apart on racial lines. At least if I went to Australia as a Bangladeshi Dr I would have equal rights as a citizen to everyone else where as here I would not? Its all on the net and potential immigrants of high calibre and sought after skills generally do a great deal of research before committing to a new homeland. The country has to become attractive again and that is going to be a monumental task for any new government. If it doesn’t happen the country will collapse into an economic and social downward spiral that will be virtually impossible to pull out of. The fault can be firmly laid at this governments feet but the consequences will be ours to live with. Another thing to bare in mind is that the whole world watched Arderns repressive regime during lockdown and the way citizens couldn’t practicably get in or out of the country and the draconian measures that were put in place. Who would risk going to a country where there are no constitutional safe guards , no media, no political opposition to that sort of thing happening again. A collapsed health system is but a symptom.   When they say “no more beds” they don’t necessarily mean there are no more beds. What they often mean is that they have run out of staff and have no more staffed beds.
  
  When I was last in Chch A&E they said they had only part of A&E open because they were understaffed. Essentially a ghost ward.

      But kiwikidsnz they have been able to bring in 200 fish process worker for the Maori fisheries in Nelson. Now Marlborough need garbage operators so they stop sending the recycle rubbish to landfill. Meanwhile the Deputy PM is bragging about lifting benefits by 50% since 2017 and migrants are rushing to NZ for menial jobs so that those on Jobseeker benefits ( about 3500) can languish in the longer sunshine hours. Looking back before the 2017 election we all laughed at the Green’s screaming for a 50% plus increase in benefits. Pity Labour did not increase Super at the same level but they prefer to borrow to “invest” in the Super Fund. The cynic in me thinks the ultimate intention is for this fund to be a Labour slush fund to nationalise everything and a replacement for the Labour Superannuation Fund they started back in the day.

  We’ve been in limbo-land for the last two weeks as Hubby awaits major by-pass surgery.
  
  Admittedly some of that time is taken up running different tests to determine the extent of damage to his arteries and the condition of the rest of him.
  
  However there’s no word as to when or where surgery will take place. It appears Waikato sometimes sends patients off to Wellington or Auckland if a spot becomes available.
  
  Perhaps that’s the way it has always been…
  
  In the meantime….. If your dearly beloved tells you to get with the 21st Century and use a smart-phone/ tablet, OBEY her.

Like most western countries, our ruling elites have waged an inflation-powered war on the middle and lower classes. The printing of trillions of dollars to be showered on the favoured or the fraudulent is making the majority of us poorer as buying power dissolves, and earning power is held back. To wit:

Rishi Sunak has hinted he will ignore recommendations for public sector pay rises, saying workers “need to recognise the economic context we are in”.

The explanation of “stopping inflation” rings hollow because governments themselves are directly and knowingly responsible for the rampant inflation we are suffering under.

Most of New Zealand’s leaders are at best asleep at the wheel, or at worst complicit in this as was signalled when Ardern made a call on Blackrock to no doubt receive her ESG instructions.

History often repeats, I believe the plight of the Romain Empire hundreds of years ago is now being replicated by the US, EU, and probably NZ.
Here’s what the Romans did:

1. Over its last one hundred years, the State steadily devalued the currency by 98%

2. The high cost of government—particularly, growing entitlements and perpetual warfare, coupled with a diminished number of taxpayers, led the government to massive debt, to the point that it could not be repaid.

3. Those citizens that were productive began to exit the country, finding new homes in countries that were not quite so sophisticated but offered better prospects for the future.

4. The decline in the value of the currency resulted in ever-increasing prices of goods, so much so that the purchase of them became a hardship to the people. By governmental edict, wage and price controls were established, forcing rises in wages whilst capping the amount that vendors could charge for goods.

5. The result was that vendors offered fewer and fewer goods for sale, as the profit had been eliminated.

In a few weeks, cautious older New Zealand men might be moderate when it comes to eating bread.

From mid-August, the Government will require all non-organic bread-making wheat flour produced or sold in New Zealand to be fortified with folic acid.

There are contradictory international studies of whether fortification of bread with folate increases incidence of prostate cancer. About 4,000 New Zealand men are diagnosed with this a year, and it is the most common cause of cancer among NZ men. Many of us who post on Kiwiblog have, or have had, prostate cancer.

The flour will be fortified because folic acid taken by mothers in early pregnancy reduces incidence of neural tube defects, such as spina bifida. Britain’s National Health Service advises women to take folic acid ideally three months before they try to have a baby, and then during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.

Bread has been chosen as the most likely food to be taken by young mothers (folic acid tablets).

Organic flour will be exempt from the ban. A couple of small NZ mills produce organic flour that can be used to make folate-free bread in home-kitchen bread-makers. Small organic bakers’ bread should also be free from added folate.

Whether most young women eat bread daily is an interesting question, and while a Government ban on unfortified bread is well intentioned, it will be detrimental if it makes intended mothers – and sexually active, un-protected women – careless about folic acid supplements.

  Anyone wanting to take folic acid can and should. My wife did. Most women do. It isn’t difficult and it isn’t expensive. It should never be forced onto those who don’t need it or want it. The target audience is miniscule.
  
  Another expensive inconvenience caused by a Marxist government full of ideologues without a clue how the real world works. I’ll have to start sourcing ‘organic’ bread or get the flour and make my own.

    This is probably going to sound quite strange, but if the target population is women who can get pregnant, then I feel the product being targeted should be one that only women who can get pregnant consume.
    
    I wonder if it is possible to lace menstrual products with folic acid? Or maybe just hand out a pack of folic acid tablets with every menstrual product sold? Seems to make more sense to me.

    Cmm – it would probably be best in alcohol. Somewhere around half of pregnancies are unplanned and frequently associated with alcohol use. Most women do not know they are pregnant and continue drinking during those important first few weeks.

Immigration is a contentious issue in UK politics. In the “Telegraph”, Nick Timothy writes:

“Every manifesto of every party to win an election in the past quarter century has” promised immigration control, yet every government has failed to deliver it. We have had more immigration in this time than in the past 2,000 years combined.”

Timothy writes that a tight labour market in the UK is not leading to inflation-busting pay rises. “Over all, the country is having its real-terms pay cut.”

He blames education for a skills shortage that feeds demand for skilled migrants.

“We have created a higher education model entirely dependent on income from foreign students, whatever their quality, at the expense of British kids who are displaced from our best institutions and courses, and that fails to offer technical and vocational alternatives. Partly as a result we have skills shortages that cause demand for migrant workers to grow.”

Timothy argues that the political Right sees immigration as an economic shortcut, while the Left favours it from its obsession with radical diversity and identity politics.

The consumer should be an ultimate judge. If folic acid is indeed beneficial, perhaps it should be added to some flour. But flour without additive should still be available. And not just organic, which is considerably more expensive. We bake our own sourdough bread at home and as we are well past procreative age there’ll be no benefit from folic acid addition, yet, we will be forced to consume it. The world doesn’t consist of just the future mothers…

  If bread is indeed the appropriate vehicle, surely the folic acid only needs to be added to baked bread itself. Flour sold through supermarkets wouldn’t need it, as I doubt the people they are targeting do their own baking. If they were that organised, they’d probably also organise folic acid tablets for themselves.

  The aim has been to improve the picture. not get an exact picture. We will never have an exact picture because there will always be more mysteries to solve.
  
  Take for example electricity:
  * We discover some of the properties of static electricity – that it makes things stick together, that there are sparks, that there are lightning.
  * Slowly we discover these are all related and that they are all part of what eventually gets called static electricity.
  * We discover and characterise charge, current, voltage etc.
  * We discover electrons and protons.
  
  All along the way we’re learning and improving the picture, but for each question that is answered, more arise.
  
  We ask ourselves what gives electrons charge and make them behave this way. We might then discover that this is because electrons have a certain arrangement of smaller particles (currently that is thought not to be the case) and spin.
  
  That has not really answered the question, just shifted it: why does having spin or these sub-electron particles cause charge?

You have to wonder whether Gaurav Sharma might have been right in his opinion on Kieran McNulty to ex Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern with his call that McNulty is a bully.
We have a situation now that Kieran McNulty is rushing a Bill through Parliament that is very similar to the Three Waters Bill that our present Prime Minister Chris Hipkins suspended because it was losing votes in their polling and haven’t been heard about until recently until Kieran McNulty made a announcement that some say was trying to pull the wool over peoples eyes with it being the same broken and undemocratic Three Waters Bill as before.
Kieran McNulty has already announced that he intends to have it passed before Parliament rises for the upcoming 2023 General Election and because of that you will only have 9 days to make your voice heard.
If these are not a bulling tactics what the hell are they because the majority of voters have already voiced their opinion “NO” and are not being given the right to challenge this with only 9 days given for submissions.
What a corrupt bunch of arseholes with a gutless media backing everything they do.

Democracy is when you want what the late-stage liberal system wants to give you, and the system gives it to you. If you don’t want what the system wants to give you, your preferences are undemocratic and the system gives it to you anyway. You’re free to protest the things the system hates, but if you protest the system or any of its agenda, that’s undemocratic and you’ll be water cannoned to protect democracy. You’re free to believe in the principles espoused by late-stage liberal democratic politicians, but if you dispute them, you’re a danger to the free world and should be arrested.

We witnessed this with the police attack on demonstrators at the Wellington protest.
We see it daily with the censoring and vilifying of anyone daring to question co-governance, gender issues, covid issues and others.

The full post is very much worth reading. In a recent local election in Germany, the result didn’t go as expected for the liberal establishment. What do they do? Decry it as undemocratic, and of course, call it the rise of the ‘far right’.

Is there another Parliamentary scandal in the offing? Question 11 today was from Brooke ven der Velden to the Minister of Health and one of her supplementary questions asked who owns the warehouse and how much was the rent to store 17 million RATs tests that are bearing expiry date. Ayesha Verrall skirted all around the question which was asked more than once and failed to provide a reply. I suspect that there is more dirty work at the crossroads about to be exposed. Who does own the warehouse and what usurious level of rent is being levied on the taxpayer? Watch this space.

The “first major winter storm” of 2023 is brewing in the Southern Ocean and will heavily impact New Zealand over the coming days.

Described by WeatherWatch as a “significant global storm”, the low-pressure system near Aotearoa is due to start deepening, bringing with it a lot of wind and rain.

I wonder if newshub are stalking National mp’s, getting their license plate then running each through the website to see if there has been a claim made

Despite their strong opposition to the Government’s scheme to discount clean cars, it turns out it’s not just National’s leader who has benefitted from it.

Backbencher MP Tama Potaka has also got an EV discounted and says there’s nothing wrong with that.
