Labour goes from one disaster to another with the political bribe siphoning billions of taxpayers dollars to hopefully get ahead of the pack wanting to change the Government.
Labour promises four weeks paid parental leave for partners if re-elected.
Partners are currently entitled to two weeks parental leave (PPL) unpaid leave, but Labour staggard plan would give four weeks paid leave by mid 2026.
The new scheme would be phased in from July 1st 2024 with leave taken either concurrently or consecutively with the primary carer and on top of the current entitlement.
This policy will be solely funded by the Government Hipkins says.

Are the public that stupid that can’t see that this will be funded by a Government that has run out of ideas and is spending money from next year’s budget to get you onside, only to tax you more so they can put New Zealand further in debt leaving future generations to pay the bill.

  Now two weeks and a few focus groups later, they have turned 180 degrees and are advocates.
  Can anyone state what Labour stands for any more, other than whatever keeps them in their limos and on the green leather chairs ?

    Unfortunately for Labour, but fortunately for us the gainfully employed, Labour are knot on the mailing list from National Party HQ about pending policies for the election. Thus they have to wait for an official announcement of a good idea policy, before they can spin it as one they were ‘working on’.
    Bit like all their announcements from the podium.
    Hope that Christopher Luxon dumps that ppodium from parliament; and replaces it with a sawhorse to sit on for announcements- more reflective of the working people striving to survive.

  This comment might be unpopular but I think benefits for families have reached ridiculous levels. I don’t think it can be morally justified. I feel this is hard topic to bring up without being labelled uncaring etc, but let’s look at the facts.
  
  Free healthcare for birthing and kids
  Paid maternity leave
  Free education for 13yrs per child
  20hrs free childcare per week per child, plus further subsidies
  Free dental up to 18yrs old
  Best start child credit $60 per week for children under 2
  Free public transport until 18yrs old
  Working for families
  Accomodation supplement
  
  I’m sure there are some I’ve missed. Now they want to give fathers a month of paid holidays on top. What the actual…
  
  The fact is, parents in NZ do not have to spend a dime on their children. The costs of having children are literally entirely covered by the taxpayer, or in other words – people WITHOUT kids are paying all of the costs of people having children. Is this morally acceptable? No. Not at all.

    Some of this is not entirely accurate (free PT for under 13, half price to 25. Dental care is not free for everyone under 18: “Children in New Zealand who meet the eligibility criteria for publicly funded health and disability services are entitled to free basic oral health services from birth to 17 years of age (until their 18th birthday)” – some region/community providers do have free dental but limited such as Bee Healthy no ACC dental, no orthodontic treatment etc.)
    
    But I get the gist, and for argument’s sake parental support is removed – it will lead to less kids being born, more kids living in poverty, worse health outcomes, more kids with worse education, fewer people participating in the workforce – there will be lots of consequences for society – do we need to increase immigration to offset even lower fertility rate to pay for older NZers healthcare and retirement, are we happy with removing rungs from the ladder to help people improve their lives, increased inequality and link to higher levels of crime etc.
    
    There are still significant costs to having kids, opportunity costs to parents removing themselves from the workplace to raise kids – income down for many even taking into account PPL and hindrance to career progression, feeding and clothing costs, some healthcare costs, housing (you will require larger houses), transport (either extra PT or larger vehicle plus more trips) etc.

I was asked to justify my bold call that Luxon could be the greatest PM NZ ever had…..

a. Luxon is a proven intellectual leader with an ability to connect with people (don’t believe the despicable nz media nonsense)
b. Luxon has a strong moral underpinning.
c. The only question left is will Luxon (and Seymour) have the balls to take on the hard tasks.

A few examples of (hard task) policies to drive NZ forward.
1. Restructure, rationalize, replace, and downsize the public sector. 75% need to go and quality staff brought in by removing the current requirement to favour brown and gay over ability and experience. There is a signal Luxon is taking on this task with the introduction of the infrastructure commission.

2. Restructure primary intermediate and high schools, reset the curriculum and teaching methods back to the times our education was internationally competitive, remove racial bias from all aspects of education, ratify the curriculum with a referendum and require a referendum for major changes, bring back national standards, introduce results based pay for principals and teachers, report all schools’ performance to parents, give successful principals the ability to oversee multiple schools, reintroduce charter schools, disband the disastrous government department of education and establish an education commission with pay linked to results.

3. Restructure universities, defund 75% of admin staff (it is disgraceful NZ universities now have more admin staff then academics), concentrate the bulk of public funding into wealth generating engineering and IT students, remove race based policies, expand medical schools, and make the humanities and communications departments self funding.

4. Adopt the successful Guiliani law and order principles… arrest and punish all criminals, no matter how small the crime. Arrest rate is very strongly correlated with crime reduction.

5. A full covid inquiry by a Swedish Judge including vaccine procurement and administration. In light of the recently surfaced medsafe report’s damning assessment of the Pfizer covid jab; include an investigation into Jacinda’s false statements the vaccine was safe and effective; an investigation into why Doctor’s supported and administered the Pfizer jab contrary to medsafe’s assessment; and a transparent investigation into the cause of NZ’s horrific mortality coinciding with the Pfizer jab rollout. Instigate criminal investigations where foul play is detected.

6. Introduce binding citizens referenda to ensure any future changes to the excellent policies Luxon implements will require the approval of voters.

7. A forensic audit of all government spending over the last 6 years and criminal investigations of any suspected foul play.

8. A complete and comprehensive overhaul of the laws and regulations relating to government conflicts of interests, complete with independent oversight and harsh consequences if conflicts of interest policies are breached by MPs and their families.

9. A treaty of Waitangi Referendum. It’s time to put the historically corrupt treaty industry to bed!

10. Study and copy Ireland’s success.

  Most of those are good ideas. Much needed ideas! But most of them won’t happen because the Nats are not the party you and I would like them to be, because they are afraid of being branded “racists” etc and because they are beholden to a corporate world that is now distinctly woke. Luxon has said he wants the Nats to be “more diverse”, when what they need to be is more evidence-driven and more competent.
  
  Some good suggestions about universities, but your proposal won’t actually fix the main problem – which is the current funding model. Our universities are required to compete for a limited pool of students, and so spend vast sums on marketing their respective products that differ only slightly more meaningfully than those sold by BP, Caltex, Mobil etc. I agree that some of the admin staff could go, but a lot of them are actually essential under the current model. I have what you might call “inside knowledge” of the university system, and we have some superb admin staff. Frankly I’m more worried about woke academics, who are by no means confined to “gender studies”, “indigenous studies” – there are now plenty of them in science and engineering!
  
  The current funding model puts the students in charge, and is about quantity rather than quality of education – the worst possible option. Better options are (1) a proper state-run university system (as in Denmark or Germany) with strict academic entry requirements, funded from block grants rather than on a per-student basis; and (2) genuine private universities, with the shareholders in charge.

    I also believe we need to remove trades from universities by expanding apprenticeships. There is no need for our nurses and teachers to waste 3 years and $100k fees/living when they can work, train, and study on the job.
    
    On the upside, my daughter is studying engineering at Auckland. I was bouyed to see their evidence based assessment of the real, naturogenic, causes of global warming.

      With nursing training/qualifications would a major training hospital in both the North and South Islands be the best of both worlds.
      Or perhaps, training facilities with working ED’s attached to them.
      They may only be available for other than serious cases but could reduce the present waiting times and lack of doctors.

    His fear will prevent him from being proactive and he will end up as a lame duck constantly trying to put out political fires.

  You will never win with the haters on here concerning Chris Luxon Mark you can go back to Bill English when he was Leader the first time then Don Brash these same voters used to say even with John Key we have voted for Winston to keep National honest and look at the way they have changed their tune nowadays.

    As ‘one of those’ you have got your analysis all wrong. Some context:
    
    1). The ‘center’ has moved left over the past 20 years. Establishment parties move with the center – people, like me don’t.
    2). Looking at the establishing principals and National’s behaviors over the past 30 years it’s the party not it’s former supporters that have moved position on such issues as Welfare and ToW.
    3). Right politics under any proportional system will splinter over the next 10 years because the establishment parties reluctance to stick to principals and moved from the defined center.

He is the leader of the opposition to the worst government ever and he can barely get his nose in front and his solution is to move further left!!

    The reason I honed in on the covid jab is I believe there was proveable criminal behaviour.
    
    The procurement of the deadly early batches after the original purchasers and Pfizer discovered how unacceptably deadly the batches were, then proceeding to jnject the deadly batches into our medical fraternity was pure evil.

  You’ve got a couple of things in there where you want to lock in stuff and require a referendum to change it. I understand the temptation. However that kind of approach can be used by Labour as well as by National and with a couple of exceptions it is a bad idea. You don’t want a government to be able to lock in changes so that they cannot be undone by a future government.
  
  The exception is anything involving the electoral system. Changes to the electoral system absolutely should require a referendum. Our system currently lacks any safeguards against a government willing to change electoral rules to keep itself in power, and it needs some.

    The Swiss managed to implement a successful referenda system, and feedback from the Swiss voters Is very positive.
    
    Referenda are particularly important in NZ as the governing party currently has absolute power.
    
    Voters proved we can fulfill the upper chamber role successfully with our great decision making on the marijuana and end of life referenda.
    
    Do you you really want to leave those decisions to Chloe Swarbrick amd Marama Davidson, or suffer a repeat of the disastrous Labour government wasting our money and poisoning our children??

Labour’s announcement re paid parental leave, which comes into effect after 3 years and costs 75 million, after voting down Nicola Willis’s bill, which could have been implemented immediately and cost NOTHING, will simply make Labour look as petty and as venal as we suspected.

Politically, it’s a disaster for them, and if they had any sense, they would have voted for Willis’s bill and cut their losses. However, hubris won’t allow them to do so, and this is what’s going to kill them this election.

Labour will go into this election proud of their achievements. All National has to do is show just how little Labour has achieved.

  But this is purely political theatre; Labour is prepared to add 15% to the cost of Paid Parental Leave just to deny Nicola Willis a win in the run-up to the election.   Something really needs to us 60-year-olds who missed out on this treat because our breeding days are over. This is extremely discriminatory.
  
  I would like to suggest that the only way to correct this unfairness is to give older, post-breeding age people a “top up” to make this fair.
  
  Therefore I demand:
  * Every post menopausal woman who is not able to take advantage of this policy should be given 3 months of paid time off for every child they had.
  * Every male partner for these women should be given a month of paid time off for each child they had.
  
  If this is not corrected then the older people in the country will be incredibly disadvantaged. This needs to be addressed immediately.

Then you get a guy like Trump (who they say is a habitual liar and corrupt, a massive projection if there ever was one) who is intensively investigated in all aspects of his business dealings and personal life for 10 years and all they can get on him is some minor accounting errors, a few classified dox, and some ambiguous statements to his legions of loyal fans (which is the real issue they have with Trump, if we are honest).   Western media have finally changed course. They are now admitting that the much promoted Ukrainian counter-offensive has failed. In fact, they acknowledge that it never had a chance to win in the first place.
  
  The Hill, the Washington Post and CNN now agree that the Ukrainian army will never achieve its aims.
  
  In the northeast around Kupyansk the Russians have started their own offensive which has the Ukrainians on the run. Ukraine has ordered the evacuation of the area:
  
  A mandatory evacuation has been ordered for the Ukrainian city of Kupyansk and its surrounding areas, as Russia intensified shelling of Ukraine’s northeastern Kharkiv region and claimed to have captured Ukrainian positions near the city on Thursday.
  
  But Kupyansk is a Russian city and people refuse to leave.
  
  Now the question moves to – so what will the demented Biden now do in the face of imminent defeat? Lets hope he gets talked down from any further escalation and sending even more innocent young men to their death.

      I regularily watch The Duran (YT channel). Also follow Col MacGregor and a few others. They have been pretty accurate with their predictions and ahead of MSM on development by 4-6 weeks.
      
      The link above by Bridgenag provides a similar vein of commentary.
      
      I don’t think anyone can provide ‘citations’ as such on an active war. Propaganda on both sides is always the name of the game. All I’ve done is call BS on the typical western MSM narrative. If it comes out of Biden’s mouth it is almost certainly rubbish (IMO).
      
      We all decide what info to digest and then think about. I choose the guys above (not just one source) and reject most MSM. May be that’s wrong? But I don’t think so based on what has happened in the Ukraine over the past 18 months.
      
      By the way – most of this is not pro-Russian as such. It’s merely pointing out the fallacies in the logic being used by NATO leaders and what they are saying and trying to achieve in Ukraine.
      
      For me, as soon as the MSM started showing Zelenskyy as some kind of rock star war leader (similar to the NZ Jacindamania craze during Covid), my immediate reaction was “BS”
      
      One thing is for certain, the Russians aren’t going anywhere and NATO don’t have the fire power to shift them.

Quick update on the Kellie Jay Keen visit on 20 September.

According to her, she has been contacted by two members of the New Zealand Police. Apparantly by telephone. They have told her three things.

Firstly they “cannot guarantee her safety” if she visits.

I guess that is, literally correct. The police cannot. However they have not told her what they will do to protect her safety. The worrying inference is that they intend to do nothing.

Secondly, they advised her that she is not required to appear in the court proceedings regarding the man who assaulted her. They further said that if she insisted on participating, she should do so via video link from the UK.

Thirdly, if she does come to New Zealand, she should not organise a speaking event outside the District Court.

        For one thing, being labelled a “denier” of x presupposes that x is the case. Isn’t the very point of historical research to uncover the truth of the matter under investigation, regardless of the implications?
        
        Why is there such an absolute aversion to anyone questioning any aspect of the holocaust narrative? It far exceeds any religious heresy. On the one hand, we are told that it and all details are completely settled and irrefutable, yet on the other hand, it is illegal to question the event in many jurisdictions and people have been sent to prison for doing so. The latter seriously and obviously calls the former into question, does it not? This is completely bizarre, and it requires a rational explanation beyond “it causes offence.”
        
        No doubt many will disagree. But if anyone can point out any other historical event that attracts even half the amount of vitriol and repudiation towards anyone who questions it, I’d like to hear what it is.

Aren’t the logical implications obvious? You can’t get sent to prison for denying what occurred in the US Civil War, or the brutal Japanese invasion of China, or the Battle of Jena.
        
        BTW, when I speak of the holocaust, I speak of systematic extermination using technological means. That is an extraordinary claim. Don’t extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence? Nobody doubts that camps existed. In fact, they existed for years after the war as well, run by the Allies and used to imprison Germans. You don’t hear about this, though.

        The Nazi party policy around race and Jews, and those architects who assisted and were captured rather than escaped by other means – the fact that in the Nazi system all power came from the top and the Leader/Der Fuhrer – so many resources, trains and camps used to transport and complete the Special Treatment….it is sheer lunacy to deny the holocaust or even quibble over the scale or intentions.

        I have even argued with a jew-hater in NZ that the SS did not do mass execution (despite the harrowing evidence in photographs or eye witness or recollections of the culprits) nor did they dig up mass graves and attempt to destroy the physical evidence of the mobile Einsatzgruppen as the Russians reclaimed land – or that body counts weren’t all being reported back towards the centre.

  1) They can’t guarantee her safety because they can’t be trusted, as evidenced from Albert Park;
  2) She’s the victim. They should be doing everything in their power to have her at court so she can help their prosecution and, importantly for her, see justice done;
  3) I’m not sure it is down to the police to “advise” (read pressurise) a person not to do a thoroughly lawful (and protected under right to free speech and freedom of assembly) activity.

  The human immune system needs to be given the building blocks that it operates on to be effective: sunshine, vitamin and mineral rich food and exercise to keep the body trim and allow important processes like Vitamin D synthesis to occur.
  
  Ms Wiles should be promoting healthy eating and living to her base, not running scare campaigns about masking and waiting for science to build a better vaccine.
  
  Science, and the Technology it enables, is great. Science provides some awesome life saving & life enabling products, techniques and technologies.
  
  But the basis of good health is good quality food, exercise and reasonable exposure to fresh air and sunshine.
  
  Big Pharma and its running mate, Big Food, are not focused on health they are focused on profit. Less processed food and less wholesale distribution of unnecessary Pharmaceuticals is what is required.
  
  May Ms Wiles can turn her focus there?

    That is completely irrelevant David. The Constitution is the basis of the law. The fact that the reason for the law is no longer relevant isn’t relevant. Nor is the fact that the US has a massive gun problem.
    
    The Originalist view of the Constitution is the only correct way to view it. Saying things are unfair or different or no longer relevant is a dishonest attempt at circumventing the actual procedures in place to change the Constitution. If their beliefs were actually held by a Constitutional Majority, then they would be able to change the Constitution. They don’t, that’s why they’re trying to subvert the Constitution and pretend it evolves along with their ideological beliefs.

    I suspect that in NZ many who criticise the anachronism of the 2nd amendment will passionately defend our 183 year old anachronism.
    
    I would defend both as more-or-less non-achronistic, as they were written:
    
    The 2nd amendment because of its requirement that guns are conditional on a ‘well regulated militia’, which imposes duties on gun owners, and because in both colonial statutes and England, guns were recognised as necessary for self-defence – when seconds matter, the police are only minutes away. So still relevant.
    
    The ToW because, except for the second article pre-emption sentence – clearly inconsistent with the third article’s same rights provision and abandoned 160 years ago, as written is quite consistent with modern democracy. The alleged principles are a different story.

    The Supreme Court in the US has ruled that individuals have the right to bear arms for traditional uses such as self defence irrespective of connection to a militia – as per the Heller case. So, DG, you have to convince the SC.
    But I’m of the view, if I don’t have the means to excercise a right I don’t really have the right. It’s no good to say I have freedom of speech if I’m prohibted from all media (internet, press, tv, etc) and confined to very limited forms of expression. If I don’t have the means to self defence then I don’t really have the right.

    I am a firearms owner, and do think I should be able to retain them as I please.
    My trust in the Police has declined due to their politicisation. I used to collect firearms as historical items, but I do like the idea of having them for home defence. Can’t admit that though – the police don’t like that.
    
    However, the USA is not an example to follow and not really relevent to the debate here.
    
    The idea that the Constitution is sacred, and never changes, makes as much sense to me as the inability of Islam to reform beyond medieval mindsets because it is seen as ‘perfect’.
    The answer to guns is more guns, just like the answer to racism is more racism.
    
    But their ship has long since sailed. Moot point.
    
    If the point of firearms in private hands was to defend the state from outside aggression (LOL!), or keep the King of England out, then they should be all means be able to arm themselves as was envisioned – but only presumably with an 18th century flintlock.
    
    That said, if I was living in America I would reflect the (unfortunate) reality, and would want to be packing heat (a handgun) everywhere I go!

    DG: You are correct that it is an anachronism, but there is a way to change it: introduce another amendment.
    
    As I am sure you are aware, the US constitution is not a single document. Over time there have been many amendments. I believe the current tally is 27.
    
    Some of these replace/invalidate previous amendments. For example:
    * 18th banned booze and introduced prohibition.
    * 21st repealed the 18th and allowed booze again.
    
    If the second amendment is out of date and should no longer be in the constitution, then there is a way to address that: introduce, and get passed, the 28th amendment to undo the second amendment.
    
    Until then, anachronism or not, broken or not, the second amendment stands.

  The right to bear arms is about citizens’ ability to defend themselves against the government. The US government therefore has an obvious conflict of interest when it wants to disarm the populace. The argument for an armed citizenry is similar to the one the government itself uses to justify the routine mass surveillance of its citizens: if the government doesn’t attempt to overreach, then they should have nothing to fear from an armed populace.
  
  If they cared about the misuse of firearms, they’d send the military into crime-ridden Black neighbourhoods, which are the loci of gun crime. Instead, they want to disarm White guys with assault weapons because gun crime is completely acceptable, whereas the threat of overthrow by armed White men isn’t.

I keep a weather eye on the NZ Dollar/ pound exchange rates. Mainly because the largest part of my retired income comes from the military pension I have received since I was 41. My last rise in pension was 10% this year due to the hi inflation in the uk. But I can add to that another 10% because that is how much the NZ a dollar has fallen against the pound in the last 12 months. Says something about how bad our economy really is.

      While the Medsafe CE did decline to approve the vaccine (Pfizer) based on the evidence available to Medsafe at the time, it was formally approved by the MAAC, which is effectively an escalation path when a remedy or treatment is declined approval via the standard process.
      
      No one knows who sits on the MAAC apparently, at least that is what the Thomas Cranmer twitter and substack says.
      
      Tarring the Medsafe CE is not fair, the CE was overruled in what I suspect was a political directive, with that directive not being documented but verbal to hide the directive arising from within the Ardern Ministry (theory not an accusation so imho)
      
      Holding people to account requires the Public, the people from whom all Government and Executive branch power arises, to actually know who made the relevant decisions and gave the relevant directives.
      
      A no holds bar open terms of reference Royal Commission review of the whole COVID saga is required – across vaccines, mandates, MIQ and Lockdowns plus any other area the commissioners choose to investigate.

When you look at what is, has been, happening in Palmerston North recently you wonder what sort of childhood experience would –
Make you cut off someone’s finger.
Murder them.
Need to carry guns, knives.

Then you ask will a spell of ‘home detention’ turn them around.
After all, if they are imprisoned, they will be put in the whichever prison houses members of their gang.
Can’t mix them up because even in prison they can’t stop them trying to kill each other.

This is a serious problem with riches involved that they could only dream of earning legitimately – and allows them to be a warrior again.

Hawaii/Maui.
There will be many more deaths. Over 1000 reported missing. Rescue teams have not gone into buildings yet.
When we were in Hawaii/Oahu in 2017 a helicopter flew us around the Island, over the Dole Plantation. Then we flew over old sugar cane and pineapple farms. Pilot told us they were a fire risk but nothing was being done.
Well it has happened now. Glad we are not there, especially on Maui as we have not been to that Island.

      Why is “women going to school is good” seemingly an unquestioned first principle? There is a difference between education and schooling.
      
      Schooling just means they aren’t reproducing when they are most fertile. They can read a book or three when they aren’t actively mothering, and then, if they wish, go to school all they like when their kids are grown. That is how a sane society would structure things, not the inversion of sanity we have been told to cherish.
      
      When I hear that Muslim women aren’t going to Uni or wearing miniskirts or drinking alcohol, I start to contemplate and wonder where the West went off the rails.

      Loaded language aside, why would you assume that all cultures should have the same practices and norms, and further, that Muslim women should and must reject those norms?       The country’s undergoing both high inflation and a crime wave.
      
      I agree with Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, with the first one physiological, including need for food, water, warmth. This entails affordable food and housing.
      
      The second ranked of Maslow’s needs is safety, which in NZ’s case means safety from gangs, ram-raiders, city thugs.
      
      Surely the first targets for a political party two months from an election would thus be first, inflation from Labour’s money printing during Covid; and second, the crime wave.
      
      The goal of freedom would come after emphasis on those two themes.
      
      For the election: simple messages, simply put, repeated and repeated and repeated.

  Competition: There are so many companies and games being churned out. People only have so much time to invest in gaming. There is a massive oversupply of product. Supply and demand suggests prices will fall.
  
  Cost to market: Technology, AI, applications, have reduced the time and cost to produce these games. It’s not uncommon to see entire games from start to finish, produced entirely by one single person. There’s only so much you can charge for that.
  
  Game quality. Many of these larger companies have been relying too much on IP and churning out rehashes of the same products. Going with what they perceive as the “safe bet” over taking a risk and developing something original. Too many remasters and successions in series Ie Call of Duty 17.   You are free to live your life, so long as you don’t impact upon others. That is liberty.
  If you do start to impact on others, then far better that the state dispenses justice and protection for the other citizens.
  The alternatives are vigilantism or fear.
  So small government is great, but as far as justice and health, and possibly education, these things are a core service to supply.

    Before the UK entered the EU, NZ was just an extension of the British Agriculture. We grew sheep and beef, made crap cheese and exported it at basically a guaranteed price to the UK.
    
    The Conference Lines had a fleet of approx 120 ships carrying Aus/NZ produce to the UK and UK products back to Aus/NZ.
    
    There was damn all marketing done as it was to a guaranteed market. There were some exports to the US and Japan and exports/imports from Aus.
    
    Britain entered the EU and NZ was in the poo and had to find other markets and other industries. The car assembly industry employed THOUSANDS and that has gone and the garment industry has disappeared with cheap imports from China. And so on and so forth.

    Brilliant isn’t it? High taxes on middle class who struggle to afford children – and so delay and frequently miss out on having them, in order to pay failures who on average do a far worse job of raising kids who will contribute to NZ.
    
    We have to toughen up and say no. Make having babies strictly a privilege rather than a right, contingent on (say) having paid $100k in income tax, or $200k combined with partner. Prove you are a useful contributing human before making more.

      You can however stop giving these children creators money for doing so.
      
      Childless people saving to be able to afford to have a kid should not be forced to pay for those people who have children when they can’t afford to take care of them.
      
      When people have children they can’t afford to feed and don’t get public support they very likely have relatives who can help them. If not, there are plenty of childless couples who would love to adopt one of them.
