    At the end of the interview with Nicola Willis, the Host referred to her as “the Labour Party Finance Spokesman”
    
    This was after they had a critique of the new policies from and ‘expert’ whose prior job was as an advisor to Grant Robertson. A fact they conveniently omitted until Nicola Willis pointed that out at the start of the interview with her. That seemed to put the TVNZ host on the back foot……

        It wasn’t just TV1 that was playing silly buggers.
        On Morning report they talked to the CEO of Barfoot and Thompson. He pointed out that their policy wouldn’t affect first home buyers as they were in a different price bracket.
        This got turned by the reporter, a little later in the program, to that the National Party policy would not HELP first home buyers, as if that was a fault.

        Ahh, just going though KB again.
        cmm, I have hearing aids when I need to use them.
        Connects to my phone and connects to the TV thingy.
        Guts of $5K, but man do they work! Cellphone wise it connects.
        Partner does not know if I am asleep or not when going to the VCR.
        Almost invisible – and there is a remote for sound up or down, many other things.

  On the matter of elections having worked as an election official I suggest we dont move away from a paper system to an electronic system. Our current system has many checks and balances built in with many people handling the ballot papers counting and recounting and checking.
  My fear is an electronic system can be hacked and or manipulated. I say that is impossible with our current system. Voters can have 100% confidence in it. In addition the system manages to get the count done and the results released on the night except for specials. It is the envy of many other countries which is why our officials are often asked to be scrutineers in other countries elections.

    As an IT professional I can concur, as anything to do with computer systems opens up so many opportunities that can be hidden by the complexity of the systems. And for what? To get a result a few hours earlier? Save a few man hours?
    
    If computers are to be used, they must be employed in parallel with a paper based system that can (and should) be used to cross check the results, even if only after the event. Any voting machine must print out the choice, allow it to be checked by the voter, and then for them to place the form in the secure ballot box.
    
    Online voting itself also has a big trap – it cannot replicate the isolation and independence of the voting process when we go into the booth. In our homes and businesses we are always potentially exposed to the influence of others in some way or another. As yet there is no technology that can guarantee the same security that a polling booth does.

      As a fellow IT professional, and a chartered one at that, I can’t agree with your first two points. If a secure voting platform can be built, tested and securely deployed, it would save a great deal more than “a few man hours”. In fact, many such systems have been built and successfully deployed, and our profession wouldn’t exist if it were not based on the fact that far more data can be captured, stored, processed and exploited by computers and software than by a man’s head. It would save thousands of man-hours.
      
      I’d like to see you attempt to run a general election, or one of any kind really, without the use of computers. In fact they produce the paper forms, they capture the results, they store data and they analyse and report on the results. An election without computers? Tell im he’s dreamin’.
      
      As a complete aside, do you use internet banking?

Will a National lead Govt change our economy? Obviously it will be better than Labour, but they are still planning to spend spend spend….. Only $1 billion less than Robertson. That’s $55 billion more than Bill English!

Can ACT have any impact on a Labour Lite National?

  I suggest you wait a couple of weeks. Nicola Willis emphasised that yesterday’s policy was tax only, and their full fiscal policy isn’t coming out until after the PREFU. That’s because they can’t release a credible plan until they know just how bad the books are. And that’s a perfectly reasonable and responsible position to take, because the books when opened are likely to be in a very bad state indeed.

    Those creating goods and services demanded by the real economy are shrinking instead its the govt.borg.nz funny money economy.

  Quite a lot of the extra spend (the extra $55 billion) is baked in. For instance the nearly 50% increase in pay for teachers and nurses, and this everyone else employed in the education and health sectors. Which cover nearly 200,000 people. This increase is way above either inflation or economic growth and flows through right across all state sector employment.
  
  So we will never get back to the Bill English era, at least as measured in nominal dollars.
  
  The better metric is the size of government as a percentage of GDP. Under National it was basically 30%, though it took some years to get down to that level. Under Labour it has got up toward 35%. The increase in state pay, which is way above economic growth, bakes in a higher percentage than 30%. I reckon National/Act will do well to get the size of government down to 32% by 2026.

    IMHO Government should be no more than 20% of GDP. Any more and its sucks the life out of the productive economy. It can be done if a Government has the capacity capability and most important the will to do it.
    If I was in charge it would be zero based budgeting. Blank sheet of paper and officials and CEOs must justify even line of the Budget.
    Not just add 5% onto last years expenditure and then settle for 3%.

      No western nation is anywhere near 20%. Probably the lowest would be around 25%, and even then they rely on compulsory insurance for things that in NZ are paid directly by the government.
      
      Just adding up Health, Education and National Super gets you to around 20%. No-one is suggesting any cutbacks in these three. Then add in Police, Defence, Customs, Courts gets you to 25%.
      National works on around 30% or a bit less as a realistic figure. I imagine Act is closer to 25%.
      
      Twenty percent is unrealistic. At the minimum you would have to indicate what part of education and health you intend to load onto individuals.
      
      What things would you actually cut? Not a few hundred million here and there, but around $40 billion.

        You’ve justed Mapped out how a socialist society operates. Based on your view of NZ (status quo with a bit of tinkering), by around 2050 we will have Govt Debt of $1.2 Trillion. This is what Tresury have already projected out. Of course we will go bankrupt/default well before we clock up debt of $1.2 trillion.
        
        So we either increase taxes massively or make significant system changes to live within our means.

    What teachers and nurses are getting nearly 50% pay increase? My daughter’s a teacher, and she’s not getting anywhere near that, and what she is getting is only a catch up over what she’s lost out on over the past 3 years.
    A lot of comments on this blog point to teachers as being baked in Liebour voters, but talking to my daughter the indications are Liebour have lost a big chunk of this vote.

    National’s promise to appoint an infrastructure commissioner is a clue.
    
    A commissioner will have goals, metrics, and performance based pay.
    
    A commissioner will staff their own office with competent people,
    
    A commissioner will be held accountable for their (and their staff’s) actions.
    
    And hopefully a commiisiomer will report directly to the relevant Ministers, not via Peter Hughes!

        The total failure that is the MOE has more than 1 staff member per school. There is zero need for that level of staffing in an organisation that continues to underperform.
        
        Replacing the MOE with an organisation with 1/4 or less staff would free up cash for schools and might result in some better academic outcomes.

        @ IVV – and that’s all we can ask for; accountability. Labour cancelled targets right across the public sector. And unsurprisingly, when there isn’t a target to reach or exceed, then there’s no measure of success. And that leads to wasteful spending, which we have seen like never before in the last six years.
        
        Thank goodness that competent operators like Dr Shane Reti and Erica Stanford are waiting in the wings. At the National Party conference in June Reti said that he will no longer accept Covid as an excuse for non-performance in health, which is exactly the mentality we need.

Some Good News
In Tauranga this weekend is the start of the AIMS Games.
There are some 22,000 children, teachers, coaches and various onlookers participating.
This is wonderful spectacle to see some children from around New Zealand participating in many sports.
Am told it is this is the highlight of many children’s year outside school.
There, some very good news for today.

  Think of the “vox pop” as a microcosm of the entire macro media system. Just as they carefully select which “random person on the street” will feature in a segment in order to create and convey a certain narrative (and necessarily not convey a different narrative), so too do they carefully select, and sometimes even manufacture, the particular events/topics/issues that are or aren’t featured in the “news,” and what issues are or aren’t worthy of discussion or consideration in a broader sense. This is why the common complaint that “the media isn’t balanced and objective and has it’s own agenda” indicates a misunderstanding of what the media is and how it functions.

  I was stunned by the few people I saw talking about it. Comments like ‘its not really enough’ and ‘the two major parties don’t seem to care’.
  
  I mean WTF. You have Labour who NEVER give a tax cut and only increase taxes and then the Nats come through with a decent tax cut of around $100-$250 per fortnight and ‘there’s no difference between them’?
  
  The complaint lines are crazy, if the cuts had been small they would have said ‘its just a block of cheese a week’ or similar. Since they are decent its ‘not really enough’.
  
  To make it worse the Unions ‘Accidentally’ release their attack billboard on the same day as National tax cut announcement. Apparently the unions are concerned that National will ‘harm’ workers. A attack ad pops up early.
A attack ad campaign targeting National Leader Chris Luxon has accidentally been launched early, a digital board spotted in Auckland this morning pictured a black and white image with the slogan “out of touch to much risk”.It was on the corner of Sandrigham and Luke’s road and has since been removed.
The billboard said it was authorized by Richard Wagstaff who is the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions President.

    I was intrigued to see how fast the number of staff of the PSA seem to be growing. In the link you provided there are two ads for PSA organisers. The one dated 1 March says they have 180 staff. The one on 30 August says that they have 200.
    That is a 22% increase in only 6 months. Still that is probably in step with how the whole Public Service seems to be growing. What do they all do?

  This was no accident. It was purposely done to grab attention from National on the day they announced their tax policy. If you believe otherwise I have a bridge to sell you.
  
  So much for Hipkins claims that National and Act a running a negative campaign based on fear. The Labour / Union advert tag line is ‘Out of touch, too much risk’.
  
  Also I am sick and tired of Labour using the Unions to get around electoral spending rules. They get free labour and vehicles as the unions use their staff to call people and delivery Labour voters to the booths. The union spends mega bucks on advertising solely for Labour. None of this counts to the advertising spend limits for Labour. The unions are a ‘Super PAC’ in American terms and there should be rules around them.

      Had a look at the 2017 result register for third party promoters.
      
      Issues
      
      1. Each union lists as a different promotor so the spend limit for unions gets multipled my each sub union. In 2017 there were 9 different unions registered. That allows them 9 * the 391,000 allowed max spend
      
      2. In 2017 9 Unions registered. Only 1 union submitted a statement of expenses (requiired for > 100,000 spend). Who checks the expenses for the ones that dont submit, do we just trust them?
      
      3. The one union that did submit was only a 40,000 spend. So didn’t even have to submit. Looking at the report the quoted expenses were obviously at mates rates.
      
      4. The only other party that submitted a statement was hobsons pledge that spent ~250,000. Do we remeber hobsons pledges advertising or union advertising? Who do we think is being more honest about their spending?
      
      The Unions are obviously gaming a very loose system.

When I was online last night, I noticed someone had posted the following – Here for the comments…. And they have not disappointed – so naturally I went and had a look. And there are some doozies!

* How’s those 100000 houses going? fucking cheek to be lecturing on figures when yours have been wrong for six years.

* Hahahah, all you have left in the tank is to talk about National. Can’t do anything productive. Pathetic party. Good riddance.

* This government has the reek of death about it. Desperation has truely set in and the mud slinging has begun

The last comment is spot in. This is a government in its death throes, with no vision, no plan and no hope. Yesterday’s “big announcement” from Labour was integreated crisis teams for urgent mental health callouts. It sounds good, until it was pointed out that this was actually happening when Labour took office in 2017, and they canned it the following year! Now it’s a good idea apparently, so it’s being recycled.

The politicians and pundits are saying it will be close in 44 days time. I have a feeling it won’t be close at all. When the first tranche of results come out after 7pm on election night – the advance votes – the result is likely to be there for all to see. Richard Prebble wrote yesterday that this is threatening to be Labour’s worst result ever, and it’s hard to disagree.

Meanwhile, Labour needs to sharpen up its Twitter game. Yesterday was diabolical.

        Elections are won in the centre, by pulling over swing voters, and Trump, as polarising as he is, with great support amongst his ‘tribe’ will not pull wavering swing voters to vote for him. De-Santis, Ramaswamy or Halley, lacking those high negative sentiments are all better bets for the election.
        
        Seems increasingly unlikely that Biden will make it to the election, or even end of the year given piling up evidence of his corruption. Kamala will be paid to Foxtrot Oscar and it’ll be plastic-politician man Newsom on the ballot for the Dems. Wish it were Kennedy, or Gabbard, or some other ethical outsider.

      It should also be kept in mind that a very high proportion of this country’s charitable services are provided free of charge by churches. My own church has a community trust which provides a wide range of services to the local community, ranging from a nail-cutting clinic and pre-school programmes to food bank and English language classes for migrants. We are a small congregation faced with a major building upkeep bill. We are only one of many providing these services in difficult times. If all the churches around New Zealand stopped the services to the community they provide, the government would be totally unable to fill the huge gap.

        Some weeks ago, there was a community group wanting to reach out to those people who often can’t afford the services that many need. They were running a fair where they would offer health services (hearing checks, bowel screening, skin cancer, breast cancer advice), food, clothing, have the local community constable along – all for free. They just needed a venue.
        
        They asked around various locations, all of whom were going to charge for using their premises. They tried to explain that they were reaching out to the community, providing everything for free – nope, not interested.
        
        They approached our church to see if they could use our premises. No problem, and no charge.

        The original time frame waa 10 years, from 1992 to 2002. But you knew pretty quickly that was not going to work. Each set of negotiations took longer. When National got back in the 2008 election, I recall that 2020 was seen as the target, but based on experience it was not set as a hard target. The main difficulty is the Ngapuhi settlement. One of the largest, but still not done,. I think it is now going to be done as a hapu/iwi settlement, effectively as 5 separate settlements. I get the impression it is about half way there. A good Treaty Settlements Minister will do it within 3 to 6 years.

Today is rubbish day in my part of Auckland.

In my brief walk from home to the bus stop there were 30 standard rubbish bins and 12 of the new food scrap collection bins luanched in July (with great fanfare).

This is a 40% participation rate.

Given that it is a separate truck roll to collect these bins is this even worth it?

  I have followed this debate closely over the last year or so. It is clear to me that the advocates for ‘trans women’ in women’s sports know nothing about sport. Or data. Or reasoning.
  
  In athletics, post puberty, the gap between women and men in terms of performance is about 10 percent. Now in elite sports, 10 percent may as well be from here to the moon.
  
  Let’s look at 2017. (doesn’t matter which year you look at – it is the same story.)
  
  At the World Championships, USA athlete Tori Bowie won the 100 meters final in 10.85 seconds. In the same year, she ran a personal best of 10.78 seconds.
  
  During 2017, her PB of 10.78 seconds was beaten 15,000 times by men and boys. No that is not a typo. 15,000 men and boys ran faster times than the fastest woman in the world.

    The fastest time for the 100m sprint by a woman is 10.49s set by Florence Griffith Joyner in 1988. There are allegations that she took some performance enhancing drug but never proven. And while that time is incredibly fast, she wouldn’t qualify for the men’s 100m at Paris Olympics in 2024 which require 10s flat. That’s 10 seconds just to qualify.     That’s pretty much the same through ALL sports.
    
    One of my sons played a lot of hockey. The U18 B boys would sometimes play against the open A women’s team. And thrash them every time.
    
    It isn’t just in physical strength and speed either. The boys are far more determined to win and practice much harder – rebuking each other if they slack off.
    
    I know an Olympic-level hockey coach who has coached both men and women at high levels. He says that the women need constant chivvying to keep going etc otherwise they stop practicing and stand around talking. The boys will just keep going until you stop them or they fall over in exhaustion. He told me all the women’s coaching is like that.
    
    Extra and more focused practice turns into higher skill.

Mei reckons the changes National are making in lifting the ban on foreign buyers is very positive for NZ. And by dropping the briteline test back to 2 years, she has hundreds of overseas purchasers literally ‘champing at the bit’ to come here.

I remember her telling us ages ago, that prior to the CCP taking back Honkers, something like $100 billion was moved offshore and looking for real estate investment.

Very welcome news to hear that a couple on average incomes will be $60 per week better off under National.
Not just many Labour MP’s but also the Wgtn Public service are now like bunnies in the headlights, with total savings required over $1B. Remember ACT will demand much more, Luxon will have to make concessions during coalition negotiations.

        Willis has said they will look at the whole charities issue after the election. If National is in government, then they have the full resources of government and the public service to do the investigation. From opposition, it’s far more difficult.

Sports Bet in Australia has been taking bets on the New Zealand election for the last 3 months, with National shortening to $1.25.

They have now suspended betting. I don’t know much about bookmakers. Has so much money come for National that they were too exposed taking further bets? Maybe the gamblers here can explain 🙂

  I get the impression that Sportsbet have found themselves in a hole with the NZ election. They will have taken too much betting on National that has created a huge liability. At such a time a bookie will suspend betting and review the odds.
  Ladbrokes don’t take betting on the NZ election.
  Betfair have National at $1.20 and Labour at $5.70. But don’t get too excited about that $1.20 dividend. After Betfair commissions etc it would be an effective $1.14.
  Sir Robert Jones was offering 3 to 1 about Labour, but odds of 9 to 2, that is 4 1/2 to 1 would be a more fair option now. You don’t get as rich as Bob by giving money away.

The teacher-pupil sex scandal at Christchurch’s up-market Rangi Ruru Girls’ School didn’t end with the departuer of Maori language teacher Taurapa (using one personal name, but formerly known as Connor Matthews).

After resigning from Rangi Ruru, Taurapa/Matthews worked at Hornby High School and at a Christchurch “Maori immersion” school, and then as a Maori translator for Stuff. He was also a “house tutor” at Christchurch’s Christ’s College (a boys’ school).

Looks like another stuff-up by the teacher standards system.

But much respect is due to the young woman who shunned her anonymity to bring Taurapa/Matthews to account.

Re Maori wards on local councils and Nat committment to get rid of them. Will this be simply through an act of parliament and these seats will disappear at the local elections in 2025 OR given that Chris Luxon has told Radio Waatea that his party will remove the 2021 amendment which removed the ability to force a referendum which could overturn a council’s decision to create Maori wards. If its the latter it would suggest that if a council already has Maori wards and their ratepayers wanted rid of these seats, they would have to organize a petition to get the numbers to hold a referendum to dissolve them. Maybe someone can clarify this?

  But the local tribe gets to nominate two persons onto council .
  
  They have full voting powers and have already been the decisive factor in overturning a vote by the elected democratic representatives .
  
  This is contrary to basic democratic principles and the notion of the rule of law and equality .

  Like we want to be lectured by a government who implemented an EV Rebate system where buyers of new EVs get an $8000 rebate which will be funded by a $5000 additional tax on high emitting vehicles, to save the planet.
  I only got 60% in UE maths but even I can see that in order for the Ute tax to cover the cost of the EV rebate we’d have to sell nearly 50% more utes than EVs.

The 23-year-old man who raped a young Blenheim schoolgirl has been named as a seasonal worker from Vanuatu.

Name suppression lapsed at midday today for Steven Tari Tambean Garae who pleaded guilty last week to charges of rape and unlawful sexual connection over the April attack.

The Crown said earlier the offending was “the stuff of nightmares”.

The facts of what happened can now be revealed.

Ukraine have started to make significant territorial gains over last week in south, breaking through Russia’s 1st heavy fortification line at Robotyne and making 5km progress over a wide front towards their target of Tokmak 20km to south, from where they will have critical land-bridge supply roads Russia needs to hold onto Crimea within artillery range. Russians are also starting to lose ground in many other locations along the southern front as they lose capacity to defend.

Ukraine long range drone attacks have also stepped up considerably in number as their manufacturing spools up. Striking high value targets nearly 700km inside Russia. The war, mostly being fought by dirt poor ethnic conscripts from various icky-stans is no longer just a remote issue for insulated Muscovites.

The Ukrainian FPV drone warfare is also getting far more lethal, with greater range to take out vehicles far from the front and greatly increasing numbers. This is compensating for the relative disadvantage Ukraine has in air power and artillery shell supply.

So it appears the long slow-motion attritional phase of summer offensive is starting to bear fruit with severely degraded, stretched and now crumbling Russian defense that is running out of stuff to fight with increasing the odds that Ukraine make it to see of Azov this year. (though probably still only 20% given onset of intractable mud-season in another month or two).

Interesting travel-log videos by an english speaking Russian backpacker who travels to remote parts of Russian federation to visit run-down and increasingly numerous ghost-towns of this inhospitable and swiftly emptying land mass. Really bleak even in summertime. Soviet era infrastructure is fast decaying, with little upkeep and it’s clearly not going to hold together as a cohesive whole for much longer. No one is going to remain living in these shitholes if they have an option, they all have to hide indoors for 6-8months of the year. In a few decades China will just be able to stroll in and annex half of Eurasia.

  Russia + St Petersburg are financed by mineral wealth expropriated from far-off regions at the tip of a metaphorical spear. Oil, gas, metals. But if they lose their military power (which is happening now, Ukraine conflict has destroyed more than half of their conventional forces and degraded their military to a great degree), then they will eventually lose their ability to project power over the far flung regions of their federation and in the long run lose the ability to pocket the income to regional govts and warlords.
  
  The economic collapse of Russian Federation then is likely to be dire, and seems likely within next few decades. The climate is barely survivable, and then only with a lot of money and logistical support that corrupt/failing govt won’t provide. Anyone with brains or options will leave, particularly given relatively welcoming west in need of bodies to make up for lack of children.

There has been a lot of reporting in the media (and from various government heads) that Russia are so desperate for chips for their missiles that they are importing washing machines and stripping the chips out of those.

Yeah right!

I’ve been designing embedded systems (ie. the computer systems that go into stuff like washing machines, microwaves, watches,…) for almost 40 years. You can’t just pull the chips out of washing machines and use those.

The chips we’re talking about are microcontrollers. They are a single chip combining a CPU (the computer bit), memory and sensors (peripherals, but I’ll just roll with sensors here). There are literally tens of thousands of different variants of these (different CPUs, different amounts of memory, different sensors etc).

You most certainly can take a chip, reprogram it and use it for a different purpose, but there are a lot of things wrong with this story:
1) It really isn’t hard to get the actual chips you want. These chips are tiny. Typically a small fraction of a gram. 20,000 will fit in a briefcase. They are easy to source and smuggle. We did that all the time in apartheid-era South Africa when the chips were way larger and harder to smuggle and access was harder. So nobody is going to mess around desoldering $1 chips out of $1000 washing machines.
2) Most washing machines and such will use masked chips or one-time programmed chips. These cannot be reprogrammed (basically they don’t want people messing about with the program on their washing machine).
3) The capabilities of a chip for a washing machine are likely not the same as you’d want for a missile. For example the missile might be doing a lot of floating point calculations that a washing machine does not need to do.

When you understand something and see such obvious mis-reporting in the media it makes you wonder why you believe the things they tell you when you don’t understand.

  Some of us can’t use public transport. Try living in Wakefield and getting to work at odd hours. Yet, my taxes are used to subsidise other transport.

    The place I work has removed half the car parking to put up more buildings. The suggestion to the staff was “we encourage the use of public and alternative transport options”.
    
    Guy on my team lives in Karori. It would take him 2 hours to get from his house to the workplace using public transport. Each way.
    
    You’d have to be mad to think that was viable. Fortunately I live 1.5km away so walk.

Herald: “Universities reluctant to set deadlines to ensure parity for Māori and Pasifika students”

Well I should damn well hope they are reluctant. The only thing a university really has going for its brand is that its degrees are worth something. Tamper with the value of the degree and the university goes down the gurgler.

Remember the excuse when the gates of universities were thrown open so Maori and PI could get easier access to university? Yup, they said this was just allowing them in. They would still have to pass courses etc.

So the inevitable happens: if you make it easier for one group to get in, then they will fail at a higher rate. Hardly a surprise.

Well that’s not good enough, apparently. The TEC has deadlines that not only must they get in, but they must also pass!

And how to do that? Well it seems more kapa haka groups are the answer! Really.

If universities are forced to pass Maori at the same rate as others, then this can only end in tears. Free-market people will quickly discount the value of any degree awarded to a Maori person (or even from that university).

If I don’t know anything else about a graduate other than (s)he is Maori or white/Asian, then give me the white/Asian. At least I know that the degree (s)he got is real and didn’t have a thumb on the scale.

The people being hurt the worst here are the Maori who genuinely deserve to be there and genuinely earned their degrees. Oh, and society in general who are funding this.

    National and Act will very soon be owning this mess. They will need well thought out opinions and policies here (and all over the show, from health to roading to ….).
    It is soon to be their responsibility regardless of how it got created. “Not my fault” is not acceptable if they want to be treated like grown ups.

  The stupidity of this reverse racism, positive discrimination or whatever they call it can be illustrated by translating it to a different setting. What should we do about the woeful under-representation of Asian ethnicities in the All Blacks? Toss out those Polynesian props and put a couple of 95kg Chinese guys in to redress the balance?

  I mean look at the entry pathways for Otago med school
  
  Preferential pathway: You have to have NCEA 2 with merit or excellence, OR 140 points in NCEA 3 OR International Baccalaureate Diploma with at least 26 points, OR.., OR…, OR are a Māori applicant, or a Pacific applicant of Polynesian, Melanesian or Micronesian descent, who has not previously studied at a tertiary institution but who holds or is studying towards a New Zealand university entrance qualification.
  The implicatino being if you are Maori etc you don’t need the other requirments.
  
  There’s always the “competitive pathway” where it’s on grades alone, but even then they “expect that the majority of students will ultimately meet the criteria for Preferential Entry.”

Working for families is such a communist crock of s$&t. Such a shame to see National increasing it.

We are constantly berated with claims of the gender wage gap, a figment of feminist imagination. It is illegal to pay women less.

Yet we have a situation with WFF, where people are essentially legally being paid less because they are childless. What happened to equal work for equal pay? I can’t help but realise that people are not being paid based on their value and merit, but are being paid based on their wants and needs. It’s straight up “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs” eh comrades?
