Increasingly the world’s food production is not only burdened with regulation, green directives, endless petty cultural restrictions but now the WEF is demanding that nations take control of the whole food chain through the banking system which in itself is state controlled. Individual farmers are hedged in with tight controls now and more and more direction and management is being grabbed by the state at the behest of green lobby groups and the more sinister Davos supremacists.

        The point is, those in control of the money supply can force behavioural changes, whether you like it or not.

        “Corporations” in the context of fascism aren’t the equivalents of companies like Blackrock, Meta or Google. The concept of a “corporation” was really the equivalent of something like a guild. A corporation is a body, and isn’t restricted to companies, which are just a subset of the wider concept.
        
        In the sense that we have “corporations” calling the shots and funding politics in 2023, this is a feature of capitalism rather than a feature of fascism. It is inconceivable that Mussolini or Hitler would have taken their marching orders from shareholders of Siemens or Krupp or the Italian equivalents, whereas the logic of capitalism sees companies becoming so massive and having such resources that it is inevitable that they will control all politicians and not the other way around.
        
        Corporate control of politics is a feature of end-stage capitalism.

We got to the stage when Jacinda Ardern was Prime Minister that her policies were led by lies and deciet and while she was rewarded with the Queens highest honour it has turned the award into a joke.
Now we have Prime Minister Hipkins doing the exact replica with just about every time he opens his mouth in the race to what Party wins the October 2023 Election.
But it is not only him that is using disinformation to smear the National Party and gather vote they are in cohort with the New Zealand Media which are also dishonest, corrupt and deceitful on spreading Prime Minister Chris Hipkins lies.
I believed I would never see the day in New Zealand Politics that this would happen but it seems that many Labour Voters want Prime Minister to turn this election into a literary of lies and make our Country the laughing stock of the world.
Labour deceitful, dishonest and corrupt and are there for themselves not New Zealander’s.

      I really hope Luxon publicly states he is putting Uffindell in charge of a unit to investigate dubious spending, or spending that there is no appreciable outcomes from. This will put the shits up many within Labour, and their consultants/lacky’s. The investigation should be done, in part, with the Auditor General to ensure all avenues/aspects of Labour’s spending as a government is scrutinized.

Something is very wrong when the “developed western world” consider Argentina’s Milei a dangerous radical. Socialism is the problem. Milei is the answer to stop the damage caused by money printing and endless govt over spending.

    Gravel: Tonga was never colonized, so that is not available as an excuse for any failures by the Tongan state or among the people…but they were colonized by 19th Century Missionaries…lots of what is now “Tongan culture” is in fact 19th Century Victorian culture: strict observance of the sabbath – only eating sleeping and going to church permitted; wearing mourning black for a year for widows (and various shorter periods depending on one’s relationship with the deceased); inspecting the blood stained sheet on the morning after the wedding…all now considered “faka Tonga” (the Tongan way)

    I think what you encountered was the famous “yellow dust season” which happens at the time when Asian wind flows reverse in Spring and several million tonnes of the Gobi Desert get stirred up into the wind and blanket much of the Chinese seaboard, Yellow Sea and Korea. The ability to see clearly across the street is compromised for about a month and it all settles down until the next reversal brings the air mass from the south which brings the annual rainy season about the time of the harvest festival when it floods .

      There is the pure pollution haze as well. Yellow dust can seriously affect Beijing, but Hong Kong in the far south not so much. I recall looking at the sun with a naked eye, and seeing a circle like viewing the moon, in daytime. And that was in Xian/Shaanxi. Out in the rural countryside it could look like a light fog, but did not bake off in the sun like it does here.
      Can’t be great to breathe that for years on end. In the least polluted areas, like southern Yunnan, the clarity is comparible to NZ – but that is mountains and greenery more like here.

This is a post I never in my wildest dreams I ever thought I would post, but after 6 years of the most inept government any of us have seen in our lifetimes…..

I give you two countries, that appear to be on two sets of parallel lines.

Both countries are part of Oceania or Australasia….

Both are part of the Commonwealth, with Westminster style parliaments, and unicameral houses.

Papua New Guinea.
A land commonly said to have only 3 growth industries, these being: crime, compensation, and corruption. A land where the government/parliament is full of inept politicians that corruptly look after their “Wontoks” (ie those back in their electorates who vote them in to bring home the aid money). A country that despite its wealth of resources, struggles to achieve positive economic growth….

Then there is New Zealand….
Over the past 6 years where it appears the only growth industries have been: crime, compensation and corruption. The economic growth of the country is in the gutter, ranked alongside Equitorial Guinea….
The government has mismanaged an inherited “rock star economy” to such an extent they are broke. There is a level of violent crime in our communities the likes of which we have never really known, and the political process has sought to corrupt NZ society in ways unimaginable even six years ago…..

If ever there was one of those quintessential elections/Seminole moments, at which New Zealanders will be given an opportunity to continue on a path of chaos by voting for (w
Labour/Greens/TPM/NZ First or New Zealanders can vote for real change and to get New Back on Track by voting for a National led National/Act government!

The most interesting thing about the election so far has been Luxon’s decision to contest Epsom. Perhaps it was Act’s activity in St Heliers that could have been the step too far. Taking into account that National Epsom voters were “asked” to vote for the Act representative and party vote National I guess we’ll get to see the real party faithful vote this time. But I do wonder about the machinations behind this and if there was any prior concern about some of the Act candidates who have since been outed recently. I can’t remember his name but the man disowning his online comments and support of the Parliamentary protest squirmed very well under the reporters’ questions but I doubt anyone believed him. If old Rob was about he would have had a few choice things to say about Act recruiting at the Parliament protests and that it was no wonder Seymour didn’t know how many houses he owned.

The National candidate for Epsom is Paul Goldsmith. IMO he will come a distant third. Maybe he will improve on his 2020 vote of 15 percent. Doesn’t matter much.

Just vote National. They certainly don’t need a ‘hand brake’ when so much needs to be done. Nor do they need a slim majority, for the same reason.
Winston First should never be allowed back into Parliament.
David Seymour should be in charge of disbanding useless government departments so we can see if he can actually do what he claims he can.
Then we need a period of austerity with no expenditure at all except on the absolute necessities.
If the country sees this happening – schools doing their job, hospitals operating smoothly, the streets safe again – they will grit their teeth and tighten their belts and vote for National again.

  Depending on what you mean by “absolute necessities”, that would require making about 20,000 public servants redundant. Minimum. As Wayne Mapp has pointed out many times, a National Government will simply not do that.
  
  I guarantee this will happen – when National Ministers have their own portfolios, they will become advocates for their Ministries. I promise you that if there is a National Education Minister, in the lead up to the 2024 Budget, that Minister will be advocating an increase in spending on Education and an expansion of the Ministry of Education.
  
  How do you think the Ministry of Education became a monstrosity? It was not just the current Government. Firstly there was Hekia Parata. Then there was Nicki Kaye. Both fighting tooth and nail for more spending and more centralised education programmes.

    Logic would suggest that if National require Act for a majority in government, and Act got say 15% of the vote, and National say 35%, you’d expect Act to have some 30% of ministers.
    
    Unlikely to be that, but there will be some. In fact, if Act wanted to do what they say, for example disestablish the Ministry of Pacific People’s (or any of the others they mentioned) they should go for Minister of those portfolios and immediately shut them down.
    
    What I would do is work with another ministry (eg Internal Affairs), have them ditch their contractor base and replace them with staff from my Ministry. You could provide a say $10,000 transfer bonus. Do that until its a husk and make the rest redundant.

    This is the issue that the right is facing around the world. We tend to have morals and ethics, whereas the left tends to work on ‘the outcome is more important then the process’.
    
    A couple of examples
    
    The key government had strict boundaries between ministers and government departments. NZF and Labour were more then keen to ignore that separation and interface directly. They even promised they would when electioneering.
    
    In the US Barrak Obama sent the IRS after his political opponents.
    
    In NZ the left is happy to bribe and pay off state media to push its agendas.
    
    In the US we see charges laid against an ex president. Whatever you think about Trumps crimes he is absolutely NOT the first president to have committed crimes. The rule had been ‘dont use the power of government against your political opponents’, the left no longer care and have opened the flood gates. They will be climbing up the walls when future left wing presidents are also charged.
    
    The left are happy to name call opponents, even in the ‘sacred’ halls of power. Yet on this site we (generally) choose the high road and attack the policy not the person.
    
    Unfortunately the rights ‘ethics and morals’ work against it in the competition for governance and outcomes.

Regarding the Pfizer/EU Contract, but there can be little doubt that the NZ contract was basically a carbon copy.

Interesting article in the Daily Sceptic today reveals that in April 2021 the Pfizer EU contract contained the statement:

“The Participating Member State further acknowledges that the long-term effect and efficacy of the Vaccine are not curently known and that there may be adverse effects of the Vaccine that are not currently known”.

Along with this, the manufacturers were given comprehensive indemnity from prosecution.

Also ‘Emergency Use Authorisation’ could only be granted if there were no alternative treatment options. Hence the lies about, and attacks on, Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine.

Would there have been such a high participation in this experiment if everyone was made fully aware of this information, as they should have been? Why was this information not clearly explained to the public? Isn’t that the definition of “informed consent”?
More importantly, why would the government sign up to such a contract? Bizarre doesn’t begin to describe it.

The article shows that this paragraph (along with other incriminating material) has now been redacted in the version posted by the European Commission. The fact that such clauses were ever in the contract and that the EU is now trying to cover them up is, of course, a very important story.

As predicted, bit by bit, the truth is slowly emerging. But in NZ? Shhh, don’t mention the ‘C’ word!
Bizarre indeed.

    virtualmark – no, not a chance, and just to clarify, myself, my wife and the kids had all previous scheduled vaccinations going back over 60 years.
    
    My wife used to work for a marketing company who did a lot of stuff for pharmaceutical companies. Her comments when the jab was first mentioned were what rang alarm bells for me. That the average length of time from the initial proposition to being approved for market was, on average, around ten years for all previous vaccines.
    
    I understood the concept that was sold to the public of all of the usual processes being done concurrently as opposed to successively, it made sense. Except for the part about potential long term negative side effects. That wasn’t possible to do at ‘warp speed’.
    
    I knew the thalidomide story as most of us did. So I was wary and started to look more deeply into the subject. Next most concerning aspect was finding out that mRNA technology has been trying to get products approved for market and failed dismally for over 20 years.
    
    Long story short, I learned so much about the whole corrupted Pharma industry to the point that I now question everything that the local medical centre attempts to shove into us. In fact, I haven’t been into the medical centre for over 2 and a half years. Ever since they imposed masking requirements. Something which I have never complied with and never will.
    
    I will only be going back to them in event of a serious trauma involving heavy bleeding or broken limbs or incapacitated on a stretcher.
    I have completely lost trust in the medical services which is a tragedy.
    
    Apologies for the length of the response, but I feel it’s only fair to at least explain why I am so ‘anti’ the whole covid narrative.
    
    Trust me, I preferred my old life when I was ignorant of the levels of dishonesty and the dangers of the medical industrial complex, no going back now though!

      I needed antibiotics for a badly infected cut but I was more worried that they would give me the jab so I didn’t go. It took a month to beat the infection but it was worth it.
      I feel for all those who took the jab and understand the pressure they were under.

      Rather than referring to your mythical ‘rational adults’, how about you supply something that resembles evidence?
      
      There was no ‘perfect unicorn solution’. We had a new coronavirus, probably man made, but that’s a total side issue.
      We had a respiratory virus that was dangerous to a very small number in society. The actual IFR was around 0.8% No worse than many other seasonal respiratory infections which strike us regularly. It wasn’t ‘special’ other than the fact it originated in a lab.
      
      The ‘least bad ‘option was to follow the tried and trusted ‘Pandemic Preparedness Plan’ which was dumped just prior to the insanity. It said nothing about lockdowns or masks. Nobody has yet explained why it was dumped.
      
      The other ‘least bad option’ was to listen to genuine experts who warned that attempting to vaccinate your way out of a pandemic is one of the stupidest ideas you could try. It drives vaccine escape, it forces the vaccine to evolve. It has great names like ‘Original Antigenic Sin’. Look it up. It’s a thing.
      
      It’s a well known tenet in medical circles. Trying to vaccinate your way out is not a good idea. Especially with something that isn’t even a vaccine.
      Apparently this was unknown to the shills and useful idiots in NZ masquerading as ‘experts’. Notice how quiet they’ve all been for the last few months? Because they are totally discredited and if they attempt anything remotely like the nonsensical narrative they pushed during covid, they will be fully exposed as the charlatans and liars they are.
      
      No, they’re all keeping their heads down and trying not to bring attention to themselves. So they should. The damage they are responsible for enabling is monstrous.

An interesting interview with Hosking and Lockwood Smith on radio this morning. Smith was in hindsight a very good Speaker of the House, and there were two excellent points he made. Firstly, that speakers are no longer insisting on a Minister answering a question – they get away from not answering by a judgement that they have “addressed the question”. Secondly, MP’s on a list have no connection with any electorate. In other words MMP is not working. And a great example of that is the current Liemore Pardy who were in effect a FPP Government. Riddled with immature zealots with NO connection whatsoever to “their” communities. The only thing they have to be responsible to is to their ideological masters. I’d be favour now of ditching MMP.

Then she talked about how just selecting a person to fill a slot when a board seat came up didn’t work because it meant a Maori and a Woman might be fighting for a single position, when obviously we needed a Maori AND a Woman.
Later in the interview she was asked if the board had more woman would there no longer be a need for the woman’s rugby council (or whatever its called). I shit you not, her response was : No we would still need it because a female board member couldn’t represent the view of all woman and so the council was required.

Ladies and gentlemen I give you the reason the NZ rugby board (and so many other organisations) are dysfunctional.

  In NZ culture a prime target for neo-Marxist ideology is men’s sports. The unwarranted attention given to women’s rugby and cricket by media is the most obvious sign, but also the feminisation of sports administration, with the resulting disfunction.
  
  NZ rugby is a very male culture, which cannot be allowed to stand in the new world of diversity, equity and inclusion. It has to be torn down and replaced. So you artificially elevate women’s rugby to the same status as the men’s game and you then have an excuse to put women into power over what what is a culturally male game.
  
  If NZ performs well in the World Cup–sorry, the Men’s World Cup–it’ll be the last time for a long time.

Oh dear, poor RNZ … my heart bleeds.

Turns out that being funded entirely by taxpayers and receiving a huge $25.7 million increase to its annual budget still isn’t enough to beat Mike Hosking. Lefties everywhere will be sobbing into their soy lattes.

According to the latest ratings, RNZ’s total radio audience is at its lowest number in more than three and a half years. Newstalk ZB claims the top spot with 677,643 listeners while RNZ is ranked fifth with 532,351.

And apparently, the main culprit is RNZ’s Morning Report.

RNZ is trying to slur their opponent by claiming that audiences are weary after three years of “… the serious in-depth news we often specialise in“. Yeah right.

Meanwhile Shayne Currie actually hits the nail bang on the head when he writes that it’s more likely due to perception of content. He states that “RNZ enjoys and promotes itself as New Zealand’s most-trusted media organisation“, but is sometimes seen as being too woke, too left-wing, and not putting enough pressure on the Labour Government, while Newstalk ZB’s Mike Hosking is “frequently perceived as being the only broadcaster or journalist asking hard questions of the Government, as evidenced by his weekly interview with Prime Minister Chris Hipkins”.

Got it in one, Mr Currie. Even if he does hastily follow up by saying of course, that’s not true, but just how “some people” see it.

So we have Kerre Woodham on the radio this morning, claiming revenue is the same as profit.

She says the 4 big power companies made 7 billion dollars in net profit last year. But, that is revenue. After taking into account of costs of running the business, the combined net profit was only 530 million. Pitiful given the asset base.

She only over stated net profit by 13 TIMES!! She starts to get a bit confused when she reads the profit is down 65% from the previous year. That would mean the previous years ‘profits’ were almost 20 billion dollars using her logic.

Presumably she gets her info from the following stuff article, which is well into hysterical territory…

  Hi surfing, I haven’t read Kerre Woodham (McIvor)’s article but did come across an article on the “Point of Order” blog that made point that “Meridian, Mercury, Genesis and Contact’s combined operating profits for the year have totalled just under $2.7bn, fulfilling a forecast by broker Forsyth Barr that they would report the largest-ever increase in their operating profits, after what it described as in many ways a perfect year for the sector.” Obviously from this number they will pay some tax but I doubt that the tax taken will reduce the combined profits to a mere $530 million.

Classical music and the Woke …

A New Zealand-born violinist, Eleanor Ryan, is working on a thesis at Cambridge University on “decolonising” teaching. The full title of her project, as quoted on the Crump show at Radio NZ: “decolonising performance pedagogies in Higher Education”.

Yep, RNZ subeditors capitalise “higher education”.

Bryan Crump’s show from 3.0 to 7.0, week days, is an entertaining section of the RNZ Concert Programme.

In an interview with Crump, Ryan says that, in teaching music in the Caribbean, she came across the concept of “coloniality,” defined as the control and management of knowledge, values, and ways of being.

The RNZ web site of the interview explains:

”Eleanor is investigating how this is experienced today in the classical music world and, how this imbalance might be addressed by both students and teachers. Eleanor’s own experience teaching classical students violin at the University of Trinidad and Tobago was one of the catalysts for her study.”

Listened to a a Maori bloke on talkback radio this morning, who sometime ago enrolled at a whare wānanga to learn how to speak te reo. He stated that the tutors were constantly stoned and that the students would all be provided with KFC for lunch each day. All this of course on the taxpayers dime. The Christchurch City Council’s district licensing committee is under fire from an anonymous critic at RNZ for allowing a liquor licence for Mama Hooch, now notorious for mass rapes.

The committee does seem to be have been lax in allowing take-away booze outlets to spring up in dying suburban shopping strips around the city.

The council always said this was because its hands were legally tied.

Lets see how the committee operates under legislation enacted in the dying stages of hte present government.

Fantastic news that Mayor Wayne Brown has sold off nearly a BILLION dollars worth of Auckland Airport shares. Funds from the sale will be used to pay down Council debt…. which will result in savings well in excess of $34m anually to Ratepayers!

But OMG…one can only imagine the state this city would have been in now if the Otara based Green Samoan Fa’anana Efeso Collins had of been elected 🙁

No, really, a green mp, who would have guessed

Greenpeace activists dropped three banners from the public gallery into the House calling for a reduction in the country’s number of cows on the last day of Parliament. Moments later they were escorted out by security, and then banned from Parliament.

That could have been the end of it, but ACT Party leader David Seymour called a point of order and said a photo Greenpeace shared of the incident appeared to have been taken by an MP in the debating chamber. He asked House Speaker Adrian Rurawhe to investigate, because to take the picture and share it would assist in the protest and, therefore, impede the House in its duties by encouraging people to enter as strangers and create disorder. Rurawhe said he would deal with it at the appropriate time.

Stuff reviewed the video from Parliament TV and it appears Eugenie Sage held her phone up during the protest. The angle of Greenpeace’s photo also suggests it was she – or someone sitting near her – who took the pic. But a Green Party spokesperson said nobody from the Greens shared the photo, or collaborated with Greenpeace, and Sage hasn’t responded to a request for comment.

The UK is rapidly recognising that ‘woke’ ideology is destroying the country.

At one of the opening Premier League games, the players took the knee, but many of the crowd booed.

This is a gesture which originated as a political statement in the US, with all sorts of extremist political baggage. It divided people, rather than bringing them together. So it is in the UK. Taking the knee is not about racism, it is about power: the power to tell the players literally to kneel down to their masters, kneel down to those who control you, because despite your fantastic wages, you still belong to the officials at the Premier League clubs who want to use you to show how much they care, and what good people they all are.

The Premier League has become like our political class and the institutions taken over by woke, city-based graduates living in million-pound properties: they love telling people how to think. And regular people watching it push back. Hence the boos.

Johannesburg has a fire in a 5 storey building that managed to kill 74 people – including 12 children.

How the hell does that happen? Easy for a place like Johannesburg.

The building was condemned some years back and boarded up etc. Gangs illegally took it over and converted it into “living spaces” which they rent out.

The building was completely gutted, so the “living spaces” are basically shacks constructed within the building. So basically a shanty town built indoors – a death trap.

Fire suppression equipment in the building was looted a long time ago and sold for scrap.

Any electricity in the building is illegal with illegally run extensions etc. Heating/cooking is generally by kerosene stoves etc. Fires are common, but they are normally extinguished before they get out of hand.

But not this time… at about 1.30 am the fire was well alight and the fire brigade was called.
Apparently it then took quite a while to get the firefighting and EMS on site. Firefighting equipment is in poor repair.

These people were there illegally and attempts to evict them (and others in similar circumstances have been challenged by various NGOs and blocked by the courts)

Of course there has been a lot of blame deflecting. Of course much of the finger pointing has been at apartheid, colonialism etc.

Makes sense. Many of the people are illegals from other countries. If the colonials hadn’t built the roads to get there then the people would not be there. Nor too if they hadn’t made SA an attractive place to come to.

But here’s the really interesting bit:
“He was also convicted of demanding with menaces after a gang-related incident in 2019 when he and two associates took two vehicles from a victim after demanding $25,000.”

In 2019 he was convicted, but two and a half years later he’s already out again? How does that work.

Oh well, he got a 4 year sentence. Should be back to his normal ways again by early 2025.

    Ours (Christchurch) has a “free” service for downloading various audio books and ereader books.
    
    I haven’t been in a physical library since we were banned coz no jab (so not since 2020).
    
    I used to talk to the librarians a lot (yes, including the commie guy with a nose ring). They tell me 90% of their day is helping people do Google searches and teach them how to charge their phone etc.

  Actually Maggie, I do have a bit of a soft spot for public libraries (drag Queen story times notwithstanding).
  
  In my experience, poorer communities use them because they’re largely free – but better off communities use them because they’re largely free too.
  
  I was involved with a fairly well off library one school holidays (one where the local children would have thought nothing of at least one family trip per year to America, Asia or Europe) and where do you think all the dads taking leave to be with their children went – because it was free & convenient?

      I’ve noticed the same and wondered the same, but I am also aware that women comprise about 2/3rds of readers of fiction, so it may be that more books are being purchased to meet that demographic. However, authors are about 50/50 male and female. And about 80% of librarians are female.

In 2004 two Auckland University spin-offs merged to become Neuren, which later listed on the ASX. Its business was the development of a neurological drug invented by Dame Margaret Brimble. Auckland University retained a 13.2% shareholding, which it sold down over time. Neuren recently got FDA approval for the use of its drug, now known as Daybue, in a rare disease in the USA and has recently sold the rest of world rights. There are other drugs in the pipeline which are showing huge promise for treating a range of neurological disorders across the spectrum. Neuren has just made it onto the ASX 200. It has a market cap of $1.622 billion. Had Auckland University kept its shares they would be worth $219,834,000. Oops.
