  Brent is down but it doesn’t directly feed our costs which are refined petroleum ex Singapore so mostly based on OPEC crude. The OEC Crude and Refined Petroleum commodity prices are on an upward trend over the last few months.

      I think you’ll find that much of the crude that Singapore processes actually comes from Russia. In 2004 I was up in Nakhodka, Eastern Russia and they were building an oil terminal which was being connected by pipe to new oil discoveries in the Kamchatka peninsular and Siberia north of the border with China. The terminal was a distribution point for Japan, Korea, China etc. & I’m pretty sure Singapore was in that loop as well. Free to be corrected.

Those with long memories may remember that Ahmed Zaoui flushed his Algerian passport down the dunny on a flight to NZ then claimed asylum on his arrival to NZ on the basis he faced torture etc if deported back to Algeria. His asylum claim was denied but the Supreme Court ruled that he must be granted asylum and hence residency and in due course was granted citizenship. Now one would have thought that he would thank his lucky stars and keep right away from Algeria.
However “has been arrested by Algerian security forces after commenting on human rights violations at a political meeting at his home.” He seemed to think that things had settled down in Algeria but obviously had not read the tea leaves right. The Arab Centre in Washington DC has a web site article “In Algeria, the More Things Change, the More They Stay the Same” – Seems Mr Zaoui has found this out the hard way.
Of course his supporters are wanting NZ to pull all stops to have him released and NZ is offering consular assistance, but he would have be wise not to have entered Algeria in the first place.

  Realistically how much can (and should) NZ do for someone that has returned to their home land?
  
  Perhaps Deborah “Taliban village sympathiser” Manning should go to Algeria and make her case with the authorities there. Put her money where her mouth is. Probably would get greater international support too. Seriously, the optics of her being there would do Zaoui’s case and any human rights abuses to the forefront of world attention.

  And then Davey Dobbyn writes a song, full of pathos and emotion, about how we the NZ public should welcome Zaoui in with open arms (despite him being linked as a senior member to a terrorist group in Algeria and the local Security Services wanting shot of him poste haste)…

  So now NZ is dragged into an international incident because we stupidly gave him citizenship!! Asylum seekers should be granted residence but never citizenship to avoid this type of stupidity. Zaoui has intentional return to Algeria, participated in politics, been arrested always knowing he has a possible shield in a NZ passport…

    Asylum seekers should not be granted residence. NZ would amply fulfill its international obligations by granting a ‘501’ type visa to asylum seekers. This would let them stay indefinitely as long as they kept their noses clean.

  It is interesting to note from people I know that work in CAB, Red Cross and with refugees directly, how many go home for weddings and family visits.
  
  The bar for being a recognised refugee needs to be much higher.
  Those shopping for the best welfare state like those that pass through Europe onto the UK are economic migrants only.
  Those who use people smugglers should go to the back of the queue, if any thing.
  And those that commit crimes – revoked.
  International law on this and climate commitments are a millstone around our necks that should be ignored and subverted as much as possible, if not torn up.
  
  Another anecdote I heard from an Aussie mate, that at the detention centres where people claimed to be Afghans, when that war was the current one, the staff laid out cricket gear, and when it was taken up and teams being arranged, “Aha! You aren’t from Aghanistan; you are Pakistanis!”

    I was asked to write two letters for Immigration confirming that a couple I know (Kiwi and UK guy married in NZ) were cohabiting. Immigration took ages to decide the issue despite the husband having an absolute right to NZ residency by virtue of the marriage. Second case officer wanted another letter presumably as the first one had gone stale. I brought the matter to the attention of the local MP (since left politics) whose response was as useless as tits on a bull. Seems you get priority treatment if not a white Western European.

Regulars here will know I’ve had Covid-related run-ins with several folks. In most cases I’m happy to drop some evidence gathered over my time researching the topic, and ultimately leave those people – who appear to get their ‘facts’ from the evening news – to their official narrative beliefs. My recent debate with @virtualmark is not one I’m prepared to walk away from as he is part of the vaccine industrial complex and was by his own admission involved in the ‘success’ of the vaccines here in New Zealand. He claims his work was pro bono which amused me as I wasn’t aware the government or its agencies, or pharmaceutical suppliers engaged pro bono workers.

@virtualmark was at pains to tell me that “all my comments are nuts”, that I am “lost in a circle-jerk of other conspiracy theorists”, and that I am “not a serious person”. It is true that I do enjoy a gag or two, and have an encyclopaedic recall of Blackadder, Fawlty Towers and Monty Python. But when it comes to pharmaceutical companies and their paid-off regulator partners monetising the misery and death that their products cause for end-users – including my own family members – then I become very, very serious.

He also changed tune on the topic of ‘vaccine’ induced myocardial injury. On 2-October he claimed “There have always been unexplained cardiac events. There is no evidence that they are more common now than they were pre-2020… You should put up actual medical evidence from a reputable medical study and journal showing how the vaccines lead to unexplained cardiac arrests, or shut up”. The following day he adjusted this, saying “Pfizer were clear back in 2020 that the vaccines would lead to myocarditis in a small number of people, mainly young men”.

So, from no evidence of increased myocardial injuries on Monday, to Pfizer always knew on Tuesday.

He also dropped this classic defense of last resort: “The risk from the vaccine is more than an order of magnitude lower than the risk from actual infection”. My response** to this Pfizer-sponsored nonsense is as follows:

1. A Nordic study of 23 million people found that for young men ages 16 to 24, post-vaccination myocarditis rates were six to 28 times higher than myocarditis rates after COVID infection

2. A 196,992 person large cohort study in Israel concluded that “We did not observe an increased incidence of neither pericarditis nor myocarditis in adult patients recovering from COVID-19 infection”

3. Le Vu et al. found that “the risk of myocarditis after mRNA vaccination was 8 times greater than unvaccinated controls for BNT162b2 (Pfizer-BioNTech)”

4. Nakahara et al. in “Assessment of Myocardial 18F-FDG Uptake at PET/CT in Asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2-vaccinated and Nonvaccinated Patients” concluded that “Compared to nonvaccinated patients, asymptomatic patients who received their 2nd vaccination 1-180 days prior to imaging showed increased myocardial FDG uptake on PET/CT”. This study is important because it doesn’t rely on patients reporting symptoms but instead discovers via cardiac imaging that all ‘vaccine’ recipients had some level of sub-clinical cardiac damage.

5. This is the most comprehensive chronology of the relationship between the experimental genetic injections and myocardial damage that I’ve encountered: Timeline: COVID-19 Vaccines and Myocarditis. A long read.

I have loads more like this, all of which I’m sure @virtualmark will dismiss on account of the source not being “*reputable*”, a term which in his context of use I take to mean funded by Big Phrama and/or their paid off regulatory partners. This is the kind of dismissal I expect in relation to the above. And remember, this note only concerns cardiac-related harm. There is a depressing laundry-list of other harms potentially in store for those who willingly or unwillingly rolled up their sleeves.

@virtualmark is Big Pharma shill writ large, and it is all the more impressive that they get his services pro bono. He’s shown zero contrition for his complicity in the most harmful medical misadventure in history.

** I am open to correction as I can and do misunderstand some of the complex analysis given it is not my life’s professional study.

    Krazy, your conclusions are bang on and there is so much evidence of deaths caused by the covid jab that it can no longer be denied by the sane!
    
    Adern’s hiding of the damning medsafe report whilst telling us the pfizer jabs were safe and effective makes her NZ’s worst mass murderer by multiples of thousands!
    
    So now the evidence is conclusive we must put our efforts towards “what we do about it”
    
    The first and most obvious step is to send our requirements for the covid inquiry TOR to David Seymour and Christopher Luxon.
    
    Here are 3 to get the ball rolling…..
    
    1. How did NZ go from the back of the pfizer jab queue to buying and administering the early deadly covid batches – after they were known to be deadly?
    
    2. Why were people under 20 being mandated to have the jabs when covid was known to have no material adverse affect on their health?
    
    3. Why did our Doctors push and administer the pfizer jabs without first demanding to see the medsafe report on their safety and efficacy?

        The $25 million figure appears to originate on the website apumone.com, which claims to have “all the latest net worth estimated on your favourite celebrities. Right now we have almost 1000 celebrity profiles on the blog”.
        
        Apumone.com provides no information about who runs the site, other than “Apumone Group”. A LinkedIn page locates it in Ghana, however this contrasts with a Twitter account that lists California and describes Apumone as a “media & news company”.
        
        In August, Apumone published a profile on Ms Ardern which reads: “Jacinda Ardern (sic) net worth is estimated at around $25 million which makes her a millionaire. Her salary is around $471,230. Her major source of income is from her private businesses. She is one of the powerful women in the world. Her successful career has earned her some of the luxurious lifestyle and fancy trips.”
        
        The article does not detail how the $25 million was calculated or what “private businesses” the NZ prime minister owns. No businesses are listed against Ms Ardern in the NZ parliament’s register of pecuniary interests. A NZ Companies Office search does not show any businesses with Jacinda Ardern as a director or shareholder.
        
        The $25 million figure surfaced again in a widely circulated tweet in November, with the full text repeated in the Instagram meme in January. In December, the net worth figure was repeated in a blog and was also discussed on a NZ chat forum.
        
        An article on UK-based website, The Focus, rejected the $25 million figure and estimated Ms Ardern’s net worth between $5 million to $10 million. The article calculated her salary since entering parliament in 2008, including the period as prime minister since 2017, but added that Ms Ardern “has written books and has been named as one of the world’s most influential women”, which “raises her net worth again”.

      KK you have been on the money from the start and have always had a well researched commentary but the most striking thing to me is the fact you have always asked questions. Your opponents have always made statements that, at the time, could not possibly be backed up by the facts as we have never done anything like this before so could have no idea how it could unfold.
      What was common wisdom in 2019 of never vaccinating into a pandemic seemed to have been forgotten because the media and thus the politicians panicked and a panicked brain does not make good decisions.
      Labour backed themselves in a corner and Pharma did what Pharma does and managed to get them to overbuy a product that is minimally effective at best and harmful at worst and rather than say we were duped they forced it onto us so they fiscal incompetence would never come to light.

  My Best Man was an athlete. In ’99 he continued to train after a spleen removal and contracted a virus. As the virus took hold, it travelled to the part of his body which worked hardest – his heart.

  I’ve been racking my brains to think of any recent correllational event that occured on a global scale, to precipitate such a sudden explosion of apparently healty athletes just dropping dead.
  
  The MSM call it ‘Sudden Death Syndrome”, so I suppose that’s all good then.
  
  So if MSM with their training and years of savage inquisitorail nous can’t appear to uncover any ‘smoking gun’, I wonder if anyone here can anyone assist me?

    But cardiac problems in young people – particularly athletes – is well known about and has been a constant for many years. Go to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sudden_cardiac_death_of_athletes and have a look at the dates on the notable cases at the bottom.
    
    Reality: Many people have undiagnosed congenital (ie from birth) heart issues, particularly with the wiring not the plumbing. Some of those people will go on to be athletes. Athletes, in particular, place more stress on their hearts. That subset of athletes may find that extra stress triggers their undiagnosed congenital issue. It’s a sad reality that has existed for many many years.

        Look, Covid infection can cause myocarditis and pericarditis. Occam’s razor says it’s *far* more likely that you will get myocarditis etc from infection than from the vaccine – the viral dose from the vaccine is tiny compared to from an infection. Nearly everyone by now has had Covid, although a reasonable portion of people will have been asymptomatic.

      Unfortunately the increase in numbers are too many to be ignored. I personally know of two fit and healthy men who died suddenly – they had no time to have unsuspected congenital issues diagnosed, but they DID have mandated jobs and young families to provide for.
      The coincidence is too great to be ignored, & whatever is said in defence of the covid vaccines will be treated with a grain of salt.
      What is more, the incidence of ‘turbo’ malignancies is not passing un-noticed in the community. A friend recently had a radical mastectomy. She had kept up her booster doses. Quite suddenly, within weeks, she had a massive growth – this in a woman who had had regular medical checks. She had surgery within a fortnight of her diagnosis – an almost unseemly rush considering the state of our public medical services – and is committed to regular checks for the foreseeable future.
      People don’t forget – remember that saying: trust is like virginity – you can lose it only once.

    The ‘vaccine’ results in a myocarditis-scarred heart which for most people results in a weakened heart with sub-clinical symptoms. The ‘sudden deaths’ are happening in people who are typically engaged in activities that spike their epinephrine (adrenaline) levels – athletes, performers, pilots etc. There’s quite a bit of work going on to understand how and why epinephrine triggers cardiac arrest in the context of myocardial damage.

  Let me be very clear.
  
  1. Covid was a serious pandemic, because it was a novel virus that none of us had encountered before, and so our immune systems were very slow to recognise it and to respond to it. Your immune system weakens as you age so the elderly had a worse time of it than the young.
  
  2. But Covid will eventually fade to being nothing more than a head cold, because at heart that’s what it is, and our immune systems are now armed to fight it.
  
  3. Vaccines saved countless lives. Witness the death rates pre-vaccine vs post-vaccine, or the death rates in areas with lower vaccination rates.
  
  4. There were a range of Covid vaccines, with different technologies. The “older style” vaccines, such as the AstraZeneca-Oxford and Novavax ones, had more significant problems with side-effects than the “newer mRNA” vaccines.
  
  5. Pfizer were very clear **before any order was placed** that their vaccine would not prevent infections and would not provide permanent protection. That was also the case with other Covid vaccine options, and with flu vaccines too. It’s a “feature” of upper respiratory tract infections.
  
  6. Pfizer were very clear **before any order was placed** that the vaccine had a small risk of myocarditis, particularly in young men. They estimated about 25 cases in NZ would require medical treatment. This was a real-life trolley problem requiring an adult decision. Personally I would have made vaccinations for under-30s very optional … but the deployment decisions were made by the Ministry of Health and I am guessing they wanted simple messaging.
  
  7. Any side-effects from vaccines, whether that’s the thrombosis problems with the AstraZeneca one or the myocarditis risk from the mRNA ones, is because the underlying virus you are trying to protect against causes those same problems, but at much higher incidence and severity. The vaccine is just a weak mimic of the actual disease, so it carries a weak chance of the disease’s effects. Note the polio vaccines have had the same issues.
  
  8. There will be Covid-related medical problems through the population for quite some years to come – but they are the result of Covid infection, which by now we’ve nearly all had. Covid *infection* gives your body a dose of virus that is thousands of times larger than Covid *vaccination*. So which do you think is going to have the largest effect on your body? It’s the infection stupid.
  
  9. Vaccine decisions attract cranks and conspiracists … and here you are. But the **vast** weight of the medical and pharma establishments disagree with you, and now they have the Nobel Prize behind them as well. Read that article from The Onion I posted above … that’s you.
  
  10. I have never worked for any pharma firm, and I did not take payment for any work I did for the Govt on Covid vaccines. I did, in that process, work with people I found were smart, serious and who weighed up difficult decisions like adults. In comparison you are not serious adults.

Perhaps they were clear to our government in the contract but not a single person outside those who saw the contract in NZ was provided that info so they could give informed consent. Some of us knew it from overseas but 95% of kiwis did not.
    
    The rest is similar garbage and I’ll not waste my time. The studies are all out there and it’s not my job to lead you to them as you will still deny deny deny…. They sure did a number on you.

      People are getting Covid over and over again because that’s what happens with headcolds. By the time you’re an adult you’ll have had 30-40 head colds. Why? Are you broken? Or, maybe, just maybe, hear me out here, upper respiratory tract infections start at a place in the body that has a weak immune system response, so they can get started with a beachhead before your body has a chance to fight them.
      
      Here’s a simple real-life example of the vaccine’s effectiveness. In 2020 un-vaxxed Italy, UK and US had hospitalisation and death rates far in excess of 2021’s vaxxed Australia and NZ. In 2020 the UK Prime Minister got Covid and nearly died in intensive care. In 2021 the NZ Prime Minister got Covid and had a few days off work. What was the difference? Is it just that us Antipodeans have superior physiques? Or maybe, just maybe again … our populations were already vaxxed by the time Covid went through?
      
      Astra-Zeneca in particular is very much an old style vaccine. That’s why Australia went for it – because they can only manufacture traditional vaccines. The thrombosis problems in women were so severe Australia pulled it from use and scrambled to get Pfizer. Mmm.
      
      Pfizer represented the science very clearly, with no embellishment, and were also clear on our place in the queue. I wish the NZ politicians had communicated both those things accurately, but they didn’t. I think it’s fair to criticise that political choice (I do), but I think the anti-Pfizer attitude is misguided and naive.

      The key thing with Covid is that it was *novel*. That’s the medical term for a disease that your immune system has never encountered before. Think Polynesians getting diseases from early European explorers.
      
      The challenge with a novel infection is that your immune system (a) doesn’t recognise it quickly and (b) doesn’t know what to do when it does recognise it. So the infection gets time to build up, possibly to a level where it is fatal. Your immune system weakens with age – it gets slower at recognising infections and weaker at responding to them. Which is why the elderly did worse with Covid. Their immune systems took too long to recognise they’d been infected, and then couldn’t fight back strongly enough.
      
      Coronaviruses – such as Covid – cause head colds. Eventually (likely already) we will have encountered Covid enough times to have trained our immune systems and so it will revert to just being a head cold.
      
      Statement 6 is because, IMO, the fatality rate of under-30s is so low that it didn’t justify the small risk of myocarditis in young adults. Trolley problem. Adult decisions that require trade-offs. For the under-30s the trade-off is different than for, say, the over-60s.
      
      As for the rest, that’s all a bit garbled mate. If you think there’s any contradictions then please point them out more clearly.

    This starkly demonstrates that you have no idea how the experimental mRNA therapeutics work. Far from being a ‘weak mimic’, LNPs are used to encase genetic material that turns the host into a factory that produces trillions of one part of the virus, the ‘spike’, and it’s not even that same spike protein as the virus being two amino acids (prolines) different from the original strain. But at the DNA level, BioNtech’s codon optimised, which means that the DNA that codes for the spike protein is dramatically different. It’s actually only 72% identical at the DNA level.
    
    As for your flaccid, supposed disclaimer that “Pfizer were very clear **before any order was placed** that their vaccine would not prevent infections and would not provide permanent protection”, this is from 31-March-2021, well before NZ received its bulk orders of the Pfizer product:

      The amount of viral protein produced in the cells following mRNA Covid vaccination is massively lower than the viral load that you get from Covid infection.
      
      Simple example: I’ve had three courses of the Pfizer vaccine (2 standard + booster). I had no reaction to any of them. I’ve had Covid once, and it put me in bed for 2 days feeling very ratshit. Question: Why the difference? Answer: Because the viral load from the infection was likely a thousand or more times the viral load from the vaccine.

        Sorry virtualmark, your understanding of the mRNA jab is NIL, and it looks like your understanding of viral infections is not much better.
        The mRNA jab doesn’t give you the virus, it ONLY GIVES YOU THE INFORMATION YOU NEED TO CREATE THE SPIKE from the virus. The spike is that portion of the virus that it uses to attach to your cells so it can inject its DNA into your system. The jab gives you this spike by giving you the partial mRNA strand, which your body then uses to build the spike. This is how DNA strands are used in the body: A portion of a DNA strand is transcribed into mRNA, then this mRNA strand is used to produce a protein. Pfizer did the first step for us, and our bodies do the second step.
        The reason (in theory) you don’t get sick from the mRNA jab is because it isn’t the whole virus, only a small fraction. It’s got nothing to do with viral load. The reason you got really sick when you caught the virus is also not related to initial infection load, all you need is a large enough initial load for the virus to get established. Once established if you don’t have the immunity you need, the virus injects its DNA into your cells which then become baby factories for millions of little C-19 virus “cells”.
        So if the mRNA jab was as effective as you claim, why did you even catch the virus and get so sick?

    It is a feature of the human psyche that we latch onto information that confirms pre-held beliefs.
    It is seldom that people are converted, and online algorithms just reinforce what individuals want to hear respectively.
    So why bother with arguing online on a topic which both sides are like religionists? (albiet with their own statistics).
    This is about as much point as the Special Olympics.
    
    On the ‘sudden death’ thing, I am agnostic, and there is too much political capital and emotion tied up to believe any chosen facts or web links by the acolytes.
    
    It is a bit like a graph from our host shows us as the bottom of the OECD around Debt and the CTU shows us as the best.
    Both are fine graphs, choosing which way to squint at it, and I just wish someone will tell the pandemic truth, when the dust has settled.
    Maybe books written 100 years from now.
    
    So far we only know for sure that the mRNA vaccine did/does not prevent the spread of Covid. That was a lie. Lie # 1 confirmed.
    Whether a spike in damaged hearts is caused by the Covid virus itself (since you still catch it, as we all seem to agree) or the Vaxx damages the heart, or both, is not categorically proven and may never be.

        I know that people couldn’t see GPs during this time. My mate’s Dad had a fall with a bunch of undiscovered rib fractures and likely internal bleeding. By the time the severity was known and he went to hospital he was poorly and died of cardiac issues.
        So we could point to the lock downs as causing excess death, and lack of access to health or even diagnosis.
        Who knows? We have stats, and my point is that it is hard to know for sure, or who is misusing them.

        Sorry Nothing, but it’s been clearly established in multiple data sets from multiple countries that it’s the vaccine that’s causing the excess deaths.
        There are ample studios now comparing Covid Only, Covid + Jax, Jax only and neither that show the jax is a significantly factor in the excess death stats. Not only that there is a statistically significant increase in deaths the more boosters you have.
        This is not some back room research, but statistics coming out of national health systems like England, Norway, Israel, etc.

        Andy, No GP’s aren’t a waste of time, but there are times when one may miss something and a second opinion should be sort. But to blanket statement all gp’s because one doctor missed something on you, which obviously another doctor caught in the second opinion.
        
        Fuzzysnuggleduck, no it didn’t depend on the practise, all practises were open to patients. Most would triage a patient when they rang up, you could ask for a physical appointment. As I aid I always had physical appointments.

        Not all patients will be seen in clinics. Some may have their appointments via phone or video.
        
        If patients do need to visit their GP, practices will be keeping patients with respiratory symptoms separate from those who do not: “Patients can be confident they won’t be at risk of catching anything”.
        
        If a practice doesn’t have separate spaces available for patients with respiratory symptoms, these people may be seen outside the clinic – as was done last year, Murton said.

        Ghost, you love to have the last word and correct people – but there is the direction to GPs in black and white from a medical journal.
        Not sure how your experience would invalidate another persons or the facts above.
        
        Perhaps if people insisted on a face to face, maybe the GP would see them, or not. it presumes that people knew they could demand it (in theory), and that they felt OK to do so.
        Maybe some GPs ignored the direction above entirely.
        I expect there was variation but it is clear that there was a push to not have people seen directly. Comprendo.
        
        I know the local practice to me was online consultations, and it would have been the case for the person who DIED, as was stated.
        Not sure why only your experience counts, and your view of the world, invalidates things which actually happened.
        If you got to see your local GP in person during lockdown, then good for you.
        Not all did. The preference was online.
        Fact.
        Unless the patient on the screen moaned and clutched their chest then how can you be sure the GP would tell them to come in personally?
        Can you not see that having virtual consultations, particularly with stoic males, meant that diagnosis might be missed?

  I think anecdotally in our own lives the numbers of healthy people now having heart issues raises concern. Prior to Covid in my circle it was unheard of but i think in the last 2 months I have heard of 3 deaths and a couple of people being fitted with pacemakers. All mid forties to early fifties and fit and healthy. I have had the vaccine 3 times but will not bother again.

  When the jab was first being talked about I did a lot of research, including reading information on the Doctors for Covid Ethics site. https://doctors4covidethics.org/
  
  What I read there convinced me not to have the jab, and I’m relieved that I didn’t. Some of the information on that site is very technical but they know their stuff. They warn about the dangers of mRNA. I have known a number of people who died a very short time after having the Pfizer “vaccine” who had up to then been very healthy and were not in the age category you’d expect to die in their sleep. Others having suffered strokes and one relation left with metal sticking out of the bone in his arm. He was operated on and given the piece of metal in a vial and told he had blood clots in his arm, and he is still suffering problems. It actually took a while for him to be seen by doctors and that appears to be the case for many people suffering adverse effects. Also, ACC don’t want to know.
  
  I’m grateful to those doctors for putting their jobs on the line in order to go against the narrative that the jab was “safe and effective”. Even the editor of the BMJ has stated that shutting down evidence hasn’t helped in determining the safety or efficacy of the jab.

  Every time I walk in any local parks where clear, understable signs have been defaced with a language purporting to be Te Reo I look away and enjoy the spring and the carolling Tuis. The language is being twisted and deformed into something native speakers before 1900 would not recognise. I don’t believe they knew or played cricket. Was the word alcohol part of their lexicon? Of course not. It’s as bad as creating the term waka in the sky for an aircraft. I now have to put on my noise cancelling headphones and shut my eyes for the safety briefing when I fly. Woke stupidity is destroying the Maori language, and compromising the essence of our beloved country.

I posted this yesterday late in the day, no apologies for posting it again. This is an astonishing revelation that up to 11,005 MoH staff were give ‘special’ exemptions from the jab.

If this doesn’t wake the opposition out of their covid denial position then there can be no doubt they are 100% complicit in the whole disaster and covering their own arses.

This is next level shocking and disgusting.

Secret Jab Exemptions for Healthcare Workers in New Zealand Come to Light

On 15 November 2021 all healthcare workers in New Zealand — doctors, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, midwives and the like — were required to have had their first covid Jab. The covid Jab mandate lasted until late September 2022.
Just tonight I learned that over 11,000 workers received “12A Exemptions” during this period from an Official Information Act request to Te Whatu Ora (Health New Zealand), the health service agency that absorbed the District Health Boards and manages all public health services nationwide.

How many lost their jobs? How many were vax injured? How many died? While 11,000 were given secret exemptions?

This is utterly scandalous. Were the opposition aware of this? Why is mainstream media not covering this?
MoH staff who were responsible for sticking this experimental substance into peoples’ arms were exempt? Why? They all told us it is ‘tested and approved’. They all told us it was ‘safe and effective’.
Why would 11,005 be eligible for exemption from a super safe medicine? Wouldn’t it be better than them getting sick or dying from the ‘deadly’ covid?

This is a horrendous revelation with very serious implications.

Wtf is happening to this country. 😓😓😓

  Just to clarify, it doesn’t say 11,005 took the exemption, but it was available for that number in the various organisations who applied for and received it. We aren’t going to know the exact number because each individual application was made for a larger group.
  
  The implications and the fallout will be exactly the same, regardless of the actual number.
  
  This is going to piss of a very large number of the electorate. Luxon and Seymour need to make some sort of statement or the implication will be, they were aware of this and supported it.
  The damage to trust is going to be next level.

Nothing shocks people any more for longer than the five minutes it takes to read a headline if they happen to see it (and with today’s MSM they won’t). The Internet has become an entertainment medium for the majority, not a source of valuable information, moreover if they find the truth about some shonky deal done between politicians and industry be it big pharma or a construction company there is nobody in the MSM interested in “front paging it”.       The level of hurt and feeling deception is huge and is growing.
      
      I think many would feel happy with an apology and an admission of error. Why trust anyone that just continues to double down?
      
      If NZ is to rebuild trust in the medical system, then a whole lot of people have to admit they did the wrong thing and promise never to do that again.
      
      Unless that trust is rebuilt then how is NZ ever going to handle a health disaster (a real one – not this CV19 nonsense). For example if the Spanish Flu 2.0 was on the horizon, how would that work out?
      
      Winston Peters’ support comes mostly from people who feel very strongly about this. If anything, he’d be getting a lot more support if he wasn’t such an (inaudible) and untrustworthy on other matters.

        There is nobody who will give you an answer. I took the Vax because I believed in the hype at the time. I was ridiculed by my doctor when I had the first shot as being a doubter. I haven’t bothered with the boosters. I came from an era where vaccines “fixed” things polio, smallpox and a few other diseases. I didn’t think that the government would foist a dangerous vaxx on it’s citizens. More fool me. Maybe I’m lucky but none of my family seem to have suffered any side effects from the Vax. Many people have and it’s sad. But harking after a “truth commission on covid” will not punish the guilty, they collected their money and status and moved on to greener pastures a bit like the “boys in Brazil” perhaps a bad reference.

    I was told about 2 yr ago (by a nurse at CDHB) that 300 docs there had received exemptions. I was stunned as I assumed that was part of the ~500 kiwis were were told had received exemptions at the time. Obvs this group of people were not included in the official exemption count.
    
    The nurse that told me lost their job for not getting the vax.

  Some serious issues with reading comprehension here. Exemptions were given to 103 applicants covering about 11k workers – it does not say if those workers were vaccinated or not (all of them could have been) and it does not say for whom these applicants cover, industry or employer, its just that those workers were not subject to vaccine mandates in place for certain occupations.

  Sure, there are quite a few people that really are annoyed, especially if they were forced into things unwillingly or if they stood up and refused to get jabbed.
  
  But, equally, there are many, if not the majority, who just willingly go along with whatever they are told. Many just don’t want to know that they have been lied to etc.
  
  Instead, many just double down and follow the government orders more fervently.
  
  It’s a bit like telling someone their partner is cheating. Many just shut their eyes and don’t want to know. Instead they take home a big bunch of flowers and pretend it never happened.

  If you’re having a problem with organised crime/gangs then you need to monitor the gangs, the areas where thy live/work and pull over and check people matching the description/profile.

Yesterday I voted Act. Although I fundamentally disagree with them on the issues of abortion and euthanasia, our vote is always a trade-off and there were other issues that were decisive.

I attended an Act public meeting in Martinborough and the candidate was speaking about three things – crime, cost of living and co-governance.
Although National has promised to deal with these as well, I like the more root and branch approach of Act.

National always seems to compromise with whatever Labour has done and rests content with lowering the top marginal tax rate and being good managers of the economy.

If co-governance carries on then we will not have a democracy or a functioning economy. Under co-governance the vote of a Maori person is worth five times the vote of a non-Maori person. I support Act’s policy of a referendum on the Treaty of Waitangi. The Treaty of Waitangi is a valuable historical document that paved the way for our democracy but should be consigned to its proper historical place. The idea of an ongoing partnership between Maori and Pakeha is a complete fiction. To my mind the referendum is a good way to deal with this issue.

Regarding crime, even here in Masterton, crime and lawlessness are on the increase. It’s hurting everybody and something needs to be done. Act has promised to crackdown on crime.

I like Act’s approach to the economy and cost of living. They envisage a smaller government, spending less and cutting waste. The current government with its reckless spending has been a huge contributor to inflation. I support more family, individual and community responsibility and less government spending.

Lastly I did vote for the National candidate to represent our electorate. The sooner the incumbent Labour MP for the Wairarapa is consigned to electoral oblivion the better.

  ACT claim to be liberal/libertarian. So they want the government out of our lives as much as possible and tend towards people making their own choices. The Euthanasia and Abortion policies are the downside of that kind of philosophy. The upside is that they should stand up for individuals when the government starts abusing its power. But they don’t. Where were they during covid when the most massive abuse of government power in our history was taking place.

Once again it is rubbish day in my part of Auckland. On the walk to the bus stop I counted 48 rubbish bins and 12 of the new organic scrap bins. Thus the response rate to the council initiative is exactly 25%.

If this service was being run by a private sector entity it would have already been cancelled. Howver as it is council run it and probably a thousand other programs like it will continue ad infinitum, with the consequential impact on my rates bill.

Ronald Reagan was right. Government isnt the solutiin. Government is the problem.

    Thinking about a suggestion for the Wellington CC public consultation coming on food scraps. Going to propose that a very important special department is set up, paid for by ratepayers of course, to manage and monitor food scrap bins and whether they are meeting their targets. At the same time have a process for exemptions if households can prove they have a worm farm or a compost bin so they do not get the cost of the special food bin added to their rates.
    
    Exemptions would have to be renewed each year of course in case people have moved and taken their worm farm with them.
    
    I reckon that would work well. Not cheap of course, but well worth it as There is No Planet B.

I was surprised to see the developers of the technology behind the covid vaccines win this year’s Nobel prize for medicine or physiology.

Nobel prizes are mostly awarded many years, and often decades after a break through discovery. Simply because it often takes that long to understand the significance and durability of such discovery.

For example in 2008 the two scientists who discovered that the HPV virus caused most cervical cancers were awarded the prize. Their initial discovery was in the 1990s.

In 2020 the researchers who discovered the Hepatitis C virus were awarded the prize. Their discovery was 30 years ago. However it was only decades later that it’s importance was appreciated in terms of lives saved.

Given the controversy around these vaccines, it seems way too early to award the developers the Nobel prize.

  To be quite honest, I don’t exactly know what to think about these “vaccines”….other than they certainly don’t work as normal vaccines do, and I won’t be getting any more of them.
  
  My main reason for making that decision is the information about negative side effects clearly was available at the time we were all pushed to take the jabs, but the information was, if not suppressed, certainly not made widely known.     Even when the “vaccine passes” were introduced it was clear to everyone except Jacinda that the vaccines did not stop transmission. Think of it like this: There have been about 2.5 million cases in New Zealand. The overwhelming majority of these folk were vaccinated and they caught it from someone who was vaccinated. 🙁

        Both my wife and I picked it up in December last year. She quickly recovered, but I didn’t and after a few months of being told I had long covid it transpired I had lymphoma cancer, which is usually curable. A couple more rounds of chemotherapy and I’ll find out, I suppose.

  The Nobel committee have frequently made controversial decisions.
  
  If you do a search it’s actually quite an interesting list – the controversy around Einstein is especially interesting – he got an award for one of his more minor theories but his major work was only recognized through the much later work of others. Some thoughts are that his work was not understood by the committees at the time he was nominated.
  
  Most science or economics controversies are usually in relation to overlooking major contributions by others.
  
  The peace prize is a good example of controversy, like Obama being given the peace prize very early into his presidency more in the hope he would be different to Bush.

Someone here in a recent post had some numbers of how many kiwis are on benefits, vs how many are employed taxpayers. (Or something along those lines) The two numbers were dangerously close.
Can someone help me find those numbers again, and also cite sources?

Here’s an interesting read about NZ’s electricity grid, maybe there are some of you that know more about this?

One key message I got was NZ’s peak demand is very different to Aust, and you have to design your grid based on dealing with the peaks. Our winter evening & morning peaks CAN NOT be supplied by wind and solar (no sun and no wind). We need baseload from hydro, geothermal or coal/gas. No mention of nuclear.

  We could put one or two AP300™ SMR westinghouse nukes in he north island (to move generation closer to use and cut waste) and we would be golden. Small, cheap and safe these bad boys generate ~300MW so similar to a larger hydro damn. At ~1b USD they are super cheap compared to the cost of a new hydro.

  If we wanted we could build the big boy
  the AP1000 PWR. At about 3.9b USD this big boy makes about 1100 KW, so almost 3 clyde damns. Personally the ap300 seems more appropriate for NZ.
  
  If we had 2 AP300s NZ would ….
  1) Have gauranteed base line output to cover us for decades (even in dry years)
  
  2) Need less generation as we wast ~10% of our generation shipping it around the country
  
  3) Could build these ‘very quickly’ if a government was motivated. n.b very quickly might be 5-10yrs.
  
  4) Close huntly (probably could put one of these in Huntly) and almost immediately meet out ‘climate change obligations’ without need for anything else.
  
  Seems a win win. Especially when the cost of one of these is only about 8 Wellington town hall rebuids 🙂

    Just retrofit Huntly with Small Modular Reactors.
    Replace the furnaces with the SMR.
    Rest of the infrastructure is already in place….
    
    Ship the entire module overseas for refuelling, reburb. Don’t have the nuclear expertise or knowledge here to refuel or refurb…

      The 300 SMR is a Small Modular Reactor 🙂 I know there are smaller in the works but few (none?) commercial yet. Westinghouse have been selling these for some time, so they are proven, which is what nuclear in NZ needs.
      
      With regards to refuelling. I am sure we could actually develop the skills, as AU is with their submarine building. Regardless we could just ship the support team out from the US every 18mths for the refuel. Might even be cheaper that way 🙂

        It really isn’t worth playing games with power stations smaller than 300MW (other than small opportunistic ones such as geothermal etc).
        
        You need on the ground operator skills for nukes. The idea that you can just run it as a black box and ship the whole unit overseas for refurb/refuelling is preposterous.
        
        Sure, the skills are not easy to get but they are there. Even South Africa’s Koeberg power station has properly qualified operators. The rest of the South African power fleet might be a complete shambles, but Koeberg is still well run. A major part of that is international oversight. Nobody will sell systems or services to an operator that is not qualified.

        But to suggest shipping in yellow cake, creating fuel rods, opening the SMR up, taking out the spent fuel, cooling it for 2 years then reprocessing it…. Let alone store the waste, in NZ… is preposterous….
        NZ will never have the expertise, money, resources or political license to set up a nuclear fuel chain.
        
        The SMR module only goes overseas, gets it’s fuel taken out and refueled by a place that already has the infrastructure…
        It’s exactly what happens with a nuclear submarine.

  There are a couple of really easy to understand problems with N’Zs electricity network. The first is that most of the demand is in the top of the North Island and most of the supply is in the bottom of the South Island. The second is that wind and solar are entirely unpredictable. Lastly, and this is a concept that most people don’t understand is that generation follows demand.
  
  The above leads to the inevitable conclusion that the idea of a hydro battery project like Lake Onslow is inherently stupid. Who is going to invest in a generator about as far from the consumers as you can get? It would need another upgrade of the network including the gradually failing Cook Strait cables. I note that the short tubby one on the Labour front bench supports the project, so enough said.
  
  Until nuclear fusion is a practicality then I don’t see anything wrong with a couple of fision plants near where the demand is. Common sense would support it, but the uproar from the tin-hat brigade would be so great it won’t happen.
  
  End result is the inevitable power cuts and ever increasing costs of energy particularly in the North Island in bad cold years.

  I have a young (18 yrs) son. He first told me off for “fat shaming”, and that soon morphed into “body shaming” – apparently making the self evident observation that an anorexic person is skeletally
  /dangerously thin is not allowed either.
  
  But perhaps there is hope for short chaps like me! Hopefully it will soon be illegal for someone to state the obvious: that I am short, which is exacerbated by the fact that I am also built like the proverbial brick out-house.

    I too have an 18yr old son (and a 16yr old). They are quite happy to ‘Fat, thin, Uggo, Gay shame etc’. Nothing nasty, they just find the PC so crazy they kind of rebel against it. Their mates are very similar.
    
    Interestingly however, when I sing along to ‘songs’ and use the lyrics, and the lyrics use the N word, they are very unhappy with me. Apparently its only ok to sing those lyrics if you aren’t white.

        Cretin is a statement of brain function. IQ circa 30. I would not consider calling Rawiri – for example – a cretin, to be an insult. That’s accurately his level of function.
        
        Ugly is a statement of comparative attraction. Since the media and many many others often praise beauty, we may assume they have located the beauties of the spectrum from ugly to beautiful. So, we can still truthfully label someone ugly as long as we do it comme ci – “ugly on the spectrum.”

Yet this is the region that got badly hurt and insulted by Jacinda’s captains call to stop further deep sea oil exploration.

  Kiwiguy: She didn’t just stop offshore Taranaki exploration mate, there was also a completely unannounced amendment to the Crown Minerals Act (Oil is owned by the Crown in NZ, not the landowner) banning any further exploration, whether onshore or offshore, on the East Coast of the North Island.
  
  East Coast crude oil is of much higher quality than that of Taranaki. The problem with getting significant quantities of it has always been the horrendous drilling problems over there. Some recent technical advances mean that those problems may now be able to be overcome. Now we will never know just what is there, so the Greens have won.

‘A man has been served a trespass notice after he allegedly entered the home of Te Pāti Māori candidate Hana Rawhiti Maipi-Clarke’s Huntly house uninvited, party bosses say.

Te Pāti Māori president John Tamihere told the Herald that a Waikato man allegedly opened her front gate yesterday, walked up to the front door and walked into her house. He was confronted by a whānau member in the house. Tamihere claimed the accused had links to the National Party.

A National Party spokesperson said they were not aware of these “very serious allegations”.

“Police have not been in touch with us and Te Pāti Māori’s comments are the first time we were made aware of these allegations. National utterly rejects racism and any suggestion that we have engaged in race-baiting,” a National spokesperson said.

Te Pāti Māori president John Tamihere said in the latest incident a man entered Maipi-Clarke’s home looking for her yesterday.

“That person who entered the home was caucasian (white) and said ‘Where’s Hana? We looked at her schedule and said she should be out campaigning?”

“Our guy said ‘what the f*** are you doing at Hana’s house. Get the f*** out.”

Huntly Police were notified immediately.

“We have been told the man was issued with a trespass notice and said that was the end of the matter,” Tamihere said.

“What Te Pāti Māori are saying, if this was a Māori who walked into some white person’s home and said where is Tim van de Molen (the local National MP) there would have been a major manhunt launched.

“Furthermore the police have advised Hana that she lives in a cul-de-sac and she needs to be careful.”

“We will be laying a formal complaint.

“We are left with no choice but to elevate this matter to the Commissioner.”

Tamihere said Maipi-Clarke has been the victim of four separate incidents and is traumatised but would not stop her campaigning.

In the first incident, a Te Pāti Māori hoarding on Maipi-Clarke’s property was vandalised. The second incident was a burglary “where the place was left to be known that someone had been in her home” and the third photos left of her prescription, that had been taken from her rubbish bin a day earlier, along with a threatening note.

“We won‘t get into what was written because that is part of the police investigation but you would have thought a handwriting expert could have a view because it was hand written,” Tamihere said.

“Hana is traumatised because she wouldn’t expect this kind of thing to happen. How many MPs or politicians homes have been broken into for political gain?”’

  This person seems to have walked in through an open front door, not sneaking around etc. so it seems very unlikely the events are connected.

I voted on Monday with 2 ticks for National. In 2020 I went for ACT (party) and National (electorate).

ACT lost my support because I think Seymour is having a somewhat flaky campaign. He has to me seemed to be taking 2 steps forward and one step back too often.

I naturally don’t agree with all the National policies but it is imperative to get rid of this current government. Luxon has been generally solid without setting the world on fire.

The most amusing and ridiculous thing about the campaign to me is the relentless Luxon-National bashing by Hipkins-Labour and the left leaning suspects in the old MSM. The debates have all been a waste of time except a couple of the Robertson vs Willis financial debates. I thought the Mood of the Boardroom one was the best.

As for Winston Peters, NZ continues to have voters silly enough to take him seriously.

  As I told him in an email, talking about “bottom lines” with the Nats is both arrogant and silly, given that ACT has only one prospective coalition partner, the Nats, just as the Greens only have Labour.
  
  His reply? (He normally just ignores me) was “I’m sorry to hear you are having a bad day”. In other words, more condescending arrogance.

      Lifes: Mainly because I believe in their core philosophy that small government is best – and that they have made a specific commitment to reinstate three strikes, which the Nats have NOT done. And the fact that ACT is much more specific in their opposition to co-governance than the Nats have been. And that if a Nat led government is going to make any real change, they will need ACT to stiffen their spine.
      
      Had Luxon included “we will reinstate the three strikes law” on his pledge card, rather than the meaningless “restore law and order and keep you safe”, or whatever anodyne statement it was, I may well have had to think carefully before voting.

  If the poll is accurate (and we’ll find out next week with the only one that counts), couple of thoughts for what it’s worth.
  
  First – still bloody close. Labour / Greens /Maori block around 41% – possibly a bit more if Maori win more than one electorate and more wasted right leaning votes. That number is concerning – wouldn’t take much for them to have a chance. Concerning that almost half the voters think Labour / Greens / Maori are just what this country needs. That’s bloody terrifying!
  
  Second – NZF. I genuinely hope they miss out but sadly suspect they will be kingmaker. It will be unstable. Peter’s will play the ‘will he / won’t he’ game for weeks. Suspect we could well be in November before the agreement is finally done. And there is no guarantee he’ll go with National – given his past, and his ability to do a 180 on anything he’s previously said (2017 anyone???) I’d say it’s actually more likely he’ll go with Labour than National. Regardless, it’ll take ages to sort and will be a clusterfuck for 3 years.
  
  Thirdly – this is a big issue for the future. My view is National are great at managing but are not really great reformers – if you look back through history, they aren’t actually known for being a reforming party – very much a steady as she goes. NZF if in government with National (and I still doubt this is guaranteed) won’t actually do much – Peter’s will be in first class travel, Jones will be doing provincial bribery, but no real reform. ACT, who want to reform, will have a weakened hand. What this will mean is that IF we get a right leaning government, without a strong ACT presence, it probably won’t do the fundamental reform that NZ requires. Long term, this sets us up for further leftward drift when Labour / Greens / Maori get back in. This is probably a once in a generation chance to dismantle some of the leftist crap and racists crap – sadly, I think we’re just going to see some tinkering around the edges and when the left get back in, we’ll probably look back on this election and see this as the one that got away.
  
  Alternatively, I could be completely wrong and everything will work out.
  
  Guess we’ll see!

    If NZF turns out to be kingmaker, Mr Luxon can say ‘here’s the deal, take it or leave it, deadline is end of the week’. If NZF doesn’t take the deal are these the options? – they go with Labour, there’s a left or right minority government, or no government. I expect the main parties are considering the options.   Our Equal Employment Opportunities Commissioner Saunoamaali’i Karanina Sumeo has taken on an additional role as Acting Race Relations Commissioner. She will lead work in this area, with the support of Rongomau Taketake Dr Claire Charters and Commission staff.
  The portfolio covers race relations, the rights of ethnic and religious minorities, migrants and refugees, and Pacific and Indigenous peoples, as well as the relationship with the National Iwi Chairs Forum and works on constitutional transformation.
  Dr Sumeo says her experience in the Equal Employment Opportunities portfolio has provided her with insights into the human rights issues affecting our refugees, migrants and ethnically diverse communities.
  Her advocacy to combat modern slavery, address worker exploitation and close ethnic pay gaps will be valuable as she takes on the role of acting Race Relations Commissioner.

  So it seems an older gentleman possibly wearing a National Party rosette and known to the householder or her associates bowls up to her front door to discuss politics (as is happening all over NZ at present). As soon as it is apparent there is no point in taking the matter further he gives a polite farewell and leaves the property. And this is classed as a ‘home invasion’ warranting a trespass notice. The gentleman will probably have the trespass notice framed and hung on the wall.

      I think that this is a reasonable extrapolation based on the very limited set of facts that we know about.
      The Labour candidate (or friends) knew who he was otherwise she would not have known to whom to issue the trespass notice. Also the gentleman (in the absence of any signs to the contrary or operative trespass notice) had implied licence to enter the property to knock on the front door but it is his duty to leave expeditiously if requested by the occupier. See Robson v Hallett [1967] 2 QB 939 which also applies in NZ.

        Have to admit that while my hypothesis is right in principle, I did not divine the details correctly. Bish (National’s campaign manager) has provided an explanation on Facebook:
        “Statement on Te Pāti Māori allegations
        An elderly member of the National Party has had grossly exaggerated allegations made about them by people involved with Te Pāti Māori.
        It is incredibly disappointing and upsetting for this individual to be dragged into a political stunt like this.
        This individual recently spoke to Te Pāti Māori candidate Hana-Rāwhiti Maipi-Clarke at a local meet the candidates event to tell her how impressive she was. At the meeting, they spoke about where she lived as they were both locals.
        Upon seeing a poll result this week showing Maipi-Clarke closely behind the incumbent, this individual visited her home with the intention of congratulating her and wishing her all the best for her campaign.
        The member was invited inside but Maipi-Clarke was not available so he returned home. Another person from the home then went to the party member’s home and asked for their name and phone number so he could update him on Maipi-Clarke’s campaign.
        This afternoon, this individual has been issued a trespass notice. They are bemused and disappointed by the whole situation.
        The party member will not be making any further comment and the party is providing the family with support.”
        
        The Trespass Notice is presumably a gesture from the Police to keep Ginny (about to lose Hutt South) happy.

        The smelliest part is how the original statement was couched to suggest the events described were from the same person. They didn’t say that, but that was my initial read.
        
        And “Another person from the home then went to the party member’s home and asked for their name and phone number so he could update him on Maipi-Clarke’s campaign” was the most deceitful act.

    I think that’s correct, well do. He is a volunteer campaigner who showed up there as part of his door knocking. Obviously you have to go onto someone’s property to do that. There are two sides to every story, no doubt TPM have significantly ‘embroidered’ the facts. He is white and from the National Party, so he is fair game in their eyes and they will attempt to make his life a living hell as part of their vindictive and hateful political point scoring.

    Well I had a boy who for a brief period when he was about 4 claimed that he was really a girl. (He liked his sister’s ballet tutu and my high heeled shoes). And after he reclaimed his natural-born sexual orientation in his late teens, I rather wished he had stayed that way.

Another diary stabbing, thanks to the bystanders, you deserve awards

Police have arrested a man after a violent assault at an Auckland dairy this morning.

A 24-year-old was taken into custody after two people were injured about 10.30am, with a male victim needing treatment for critical injuries at Auckland City Hospital. A second person suffered moderate injuries.

Shoppers inside at the time of the attack stopped the offender and held him down, police said.

The hero bystanders then tended to both victims.

  Admittedly we did need a Space Act because we didn’t have any laws on the books regarding rockets and spacecraft because…. well, we’re New Zealand.
  
  But so far we’ve done perfectly well without a fucking Space Minister. With this will undoubtedly come a Ministry of Space, filled with Space Bureaucrats writing Space Regulations that extend beyond the actual written law of Parliament and which the latter will likely never be aware of. Just one aspect would probably be the inclusion of DIE standards. (Diversity Inclusion and Equity).
  
  As has been recently noted about the FAA’s reluctant granting of another licence for Musk to test the next iteration of Starship in Texas, not one person in the FAA actually has a fucking clue as what to fix on Starship; the only people who do work for SpaceX. The FAA in this case are just there to look over the shoulders of the SpaceX engineers and file paperwork.

  Our 5.3 Kw solar array was installed just over five years ago and has already paid for itself. Also increases the resale value of the house.

New poll

A new Talbot Mills poll has shown NZ First rising again to 6.4 per cent into a hypothetical kingmaker position, while Labour continues to drop and Act drops back into the single digits.

The final pre-election NZ Insight poll by Talbot Mills Research for its corporate clients also has National rising to 38 per cent (up two since the last poll a month ago) and Labour dropping again to 27 per cent (down 3).

The Greens have nudged up to 13 per cent, the party’s highest result in the poll mid-2017. NZ First is up from 5.4 per cent in the September poll.

Act is on 9 per cent, down one. Te Pāti Māori is at 3.1 per cent and The Opportunities Party (Top) are on 2.3 per cent.

Police don’t believe the incidents at Te Pāti Māori candidate Hana-Rāwhiti Maipi-Clarke’s house were racially-motivated or coordinated.

In a lengthy statement on Thursday afternoon, police said investigations are underway into five reports received in relation to a property in Huntly.

  Police Detective Inspector Darrell Harpur said police would be issuing a trespass notice to a Huntly resident after receiving a report at 10:20am on Wednesday. Police said a person entered the property and was subsequently asked to leave.
  
  “Police have established that an election hoarding was stolen from the property on 25 September but note this is in the context of several other hoardings in the area, from a range of political parties, being damaged or defaced.
  
  “This incident has been incorrectly reported as a ram raid – this is more correctly referred to as a theft. At this stage no further line of enquiry is available and this matter has been filed.
  
  “Three other incidents were reported by residents of the property on 25 September.
  
  “Police have followed up on reports of a suspicious vehicle, however at this stage we do not believe this vehicle is linked to any intentions at the property.
  
  “A report of an alleged burglary and receipt of a threatening note. These reports have been investigated and Police have been unable to establish any criminality, although enquiries are ongoing.”
  
  Det Insp Harpur said police have visited the property on several occasions to investigate the reports and provide reassurance.
  
  “Staff have offered crime prevention and safety advice to those occupants. Police do not believe that the incidents have been racially motivated or coordinated. While we acknowledge that the incidents in which people have come on to the property will have been unsettling, we do not believe these constitute a home-invasion style entry into the house.”

Has there been a dirtier election campaign ?
Everyone I know understands National’s tax cuts vary according to personal circumstances.
Labour have successfully organised a media attack because, shock horror, not everyone gets the full $250 a fortnight tax relief.
I have to give Luxon and Willis full credit for not physically attacking the Media lackies for their patently absurd parroting of Labour’s attack lines.

Do you think the NZ Media would highlight my predicament – I get no benefit from the GST off fruit and veggies because I grow my own. Labour is running a scam with that policy.

If National/Act and even NZF find themselves in Government despite these attacks, I fervently pray they will stop any funding, halt paying for newspapers to Govt Depts, and cut back advertising to a bare minimum.

Watching the minor party debate and by geez Peters and Seymour have been strong in standing up to the pathetic Shaw and Waititi and the corrupt Tame and hand-picked audience of young left wingers. Not a Peters voters but I think he is landing some blows here, Seymour maintains his dignity and speaks well in the hostile environment, and Shaw is just a vile weasel.

    How would Colville describe the man with the tattooed face under a cowboy hat, and how would he describe, standing at the other end of the panel, the very urban looking Green globetrotter purporting to speak on behalf of poor folk?

I feel very angry over the way the debate has been conducted. It is a disgrace for TVNZ to set up a ‘theatre of pain’ full of Green supporters so that Seymour gets targeted for abuse and putdowns by Shaw while the crowd howls with laughter and cheers. We will see who has the last laugh when the lection is over.

Did labour change the election laws to try and get a bigger overseas vote?

The rules about who can vote from overseas have changed.

You can enrol and vote in the 2023 General Election from overseas if all the following statements are true:

you are 18 years or older
you’ve lived in New Zealand for more than 12 months continuously at some time in your life
you are one of the following:
a New Zealand citizen who has been in New Zealand within the last 6 years
a New Zealand permanent resident who has been in New Zealand within the last 4 years.

After the 2023 General Election the eligibility criteria will change back to the previous settings of 3 years for New Zealand citizens and 12 months for New Zealand permanent residents.

I watched Tucker speak with a man who has researched the trans business in the US and it is indeed a massive industry. Many sides to this ‘cut and thrust’ procedure apparently but the 25% who have major medical problems afterwards have not been studied so they just live in painful misery. The female to male procedure we are told does not have as many side effects but shit why do it? And then there are the kids who get butchered. There is one message here though that is very plain; follow the money.

Oh my god, the “expert” panel gave it two to little Jimmy Shaw and one to Rawiri Waititi. Talk about a joke. The only time the audience clapped was Rawiri after a rant. These people are so out of touch with the rest of New Zealand it’s not funny. LOL
