Labour’s plan to add fuel to the fire

Nearly half of New Zealand general practices still have a GP vacancy, despite signs the sector is beginning to recover from years of intense financial and workforce pressure.

And Labour’s policy is to have taxpayers fund three visits a year to GPs, which could lead to up to 600 extra GPs needed just to cope.
