MP Awatere-Huata charged with fraud!

The news is just breaking that MP Donna Awatere Huata (currently suspended from ACT) and her husband Wi Huata have been charged with using a document for percunery advantage and appeared in court in Napier.

The SFO have said “Charges were brought in the District Court at Napier this morning against Donna Awatere Huata and her husband Wi Huata alleging the misuse of monies belonging to the Pipi Foundation and the attempted cover-up of that misuse.”

If found guilty this will automatically expel her from Parliament under the Electoral Act
