Donna in court

The trial of Donna Awatere-Huata began today in the Auckland District Court. The SFO has said that “Awatere Huata and her husband Wi Huata used funds from the Government-funded Pipi Foundation to pay for Awatere Huata’s stomach stabling operation and school fees for their children” and also “pocketed the cash from cheques made out to the Pipi Foundation account”.

With the Supreme Court also due to rule soon on the attempt by ACT to dismiss her as an MP, one wonders under what section of the Electoral Act will she be thrown out?

Will it be:

a) Section 55(1), Paragraph (d)
b) Section 55A(3), Paragraph (b)
c) Section 54(2), Paragraph (b)
