A great Christmas Day

December 27th, 2004 at 10:04 pm by David Farrar

Christmas Day this year was one of the best ever, starting with me leaving Wellington at 8.00 a.m. and collapsing exhausted into bed in a motel in Bulls around midnight.

Normally Christmas Day is a fairly sedate affair with just my brother and parents, plus two or three nuns from the Home of Compassion Hospital where Dad used to work. We have no first cousins at all as Dad is an only child and Mum

Yeah, I ended up with tag v young cousins. Being from a similar fitness school to you (if that’s not too rude) it was tough. Could catch up on a straight run but then needed a sleep to recover!

“helped telecom’s profits too much”, does this sound like a whiney socialist, or is it the campaign manager for Wellington Central talking on message.
What you should have said was , ” amply reward Telecom INVESTORS ( remember them ) for their risk against fierce competition”

“The croquet was a special highlight, as I had not played it since National was in Government, and we would use the back lawn of Vogel House.”
Sounds like Marie Antoinette pining for her Versailles fermette when locked up in the Tuileries. Let ‘em eat cake!

Getting to play croquet again at Vogel House is one of my main motivations in politics :-)

VH has a massive lawn, you could in fact play golf on it, which was very popular amongst those of us invited out there by the then residents.
