December 31st, 2004 at 1:03 pm by David FarrarPaul Holmes has had another crash or forced landing. He seems to have a a jinx with flying as I can recall another plane crash and also a helicopter crash.

And I think he’ll crash again, no matter how much he is in his Prime.

Poor (sorry that should be unfortunate }Paul, I wonder what that will do to the excess on his insurance…Lets hope he does the decent thing and broadcasts the contents of the Black Box when he recovers it

Good to see the Old Soldier is okay and note this before I take the piss a bit….
Even though it was an accident it would have made a marvellous publicity stunt – after all isnt the 31st December the very day he becomes a free agent from TVNZ?
Question being is it an item on the TVNZ news tonight?

Yes on both TV1 and TV3. Ironically not on Prime it seems.

Probably an oversight by the Prime PR team too busy organising the “event”.
The next stunt should be to send Holmes dressed in his togs with gammy leg and bandaged up broken fingernail to do “feelgood interviews” in a Hercules to Tsunami ravaged countries….
Oops – I think there are cracks in that plan now as well.

What a waste of a wonderful plane!!
Vote:The Stearman (built by Boeing) was the US equivalent of the Tiger Moth (and can be worth $200,000).
