Blocked by Net Nanny

August 31st, 2005 at 11:55 am by David Farrar

Heh. Rodney Hide just called me from the airport to say that he tried to catch up on the day’s events by reading my blog. But alas the computer would not let him through, warning him my site was blocked by Net Nanny for inappropriate content.

If I’m blocked, I presume G-Man must be also with his list of the 100 rudest place names in Britain.

Rodney was in an good mood, on the basis of the Epsom poll done by Capitol Research (Australia). I know nothing about that company or methodology so can’t express an opinion as to reliability. It will be interesting to see public polls in seats like Epsom and Tauranga.

It’s probably all the bickering your commenters like to indulge in. Setting a terrible example for our young people. ;-)

Yeah – why no poll results for wellington Central – is blumsky ahead of Boo Boo – or are they even – one of the most exciting contests of a very popular ex-mayor vs a pinko commie fumbling teletubby (should be no contest really)

in respect of epsom polls here will totally dictate whether or not I vote for Act (like so many people) if Rodney looks like he will win epsom I will vote ACT (Preferred choice) but should he not win then my vote will be with the Nats – I think Act will see a significant lift if Rodney looks like winning Epsom as the Act vote will not then be wasted.

    Act claiming lead in Epsom?

Well, it seems that the naysayers may yet be proven wrong. Rodney Hide and his ACTonCampus supporters are claiming that Rodney Hide has hit the front in the race for Epsom. This race has a strategic importance for ACT, in that it is unlikely to hit 5…

LOL. So accurate yet so funny.

I’ve always thought that Hobbs woman need a reality check. Probably one of the most anti-Bush people in the Labour. Her extreme views have no place in a government.

ACT in front… They must be putting the work in? I think Labour will get their supporters to back Richard Worth(less) It would be a perfect gambit for Labour to block maybe 6 ACT MP’s.
Unless Worth pulls the plug altogether!
    Interesting.

I found out just how dodgy your site was after sending the link to a friend at his work. He achieved a very high blocked rating when attempting to check it out. Most porn sites seem to rate lower.

Oh yes there will be a public poll I am sure in WC and personally I’ll be quite interested in the result. However it is not a strategic seat like Epsom and Tauranaga which may affect the balance of seats in Parliament.

  11. Emmess Says:

It may be possible that if Labour told their supporters to back Worth, it could backfire and National supporters who aren’t sure would see that they could support Rodney. Besides, alot of Labour voters probably already are supporting Worth

With only 12% support, Labour doesn’t have a lot of leverage to affect the result (although it may actuall be more than enough if its as close as it looks).

I’d be more tempted to vote Act if they had an assured seat.

Lets us pray the good people of Epsom have the nous to see that Worths already there ( what an oxymoron of a name) So they have nothing to lose and everthing to gain voting for Rodney And as others have said if he looks like winning the national vote for ACT will increase as well

Bob Clarkson is certainly putting pressure on Peters and is pinning him down in Tauranga instead of campaigning around the country. Tauranga Boys High have done one of their famous polls and have given the seat to Clarkson. What a pity, a serious pity National did not have Bob in 1999 when he could have taken the seat off Peters and NZF fell below 5%. Damn damn damn.

It is an outrage that Farrar and Hide are talking on the phone.

Why has Helen Bain not run a story about National/ACT collusion?

Next you will be telling us Rodney was in an airport lounge sitting in the same seat Roger Kerr did twelve days ago, drinking from the same coffee cup that was used forty days ago by Roger Douglas, who left on two planes behind Don Brash.

How dare you talk to one another? Centre right collusion that is all it is…

Peter’s doesn’t deserve to win TGA after that act with the two mobile phones.

Supreme arrogance and a tactical blunder on his behalf.

I am on the edge on my seat wondering what way he is going to swing, Nats or Lab? IMO, he’d have no chance of winning TGA if he declared he was swinging towards Labour. TGA voters are naturally conservative (apparently), so I don’t think Peters would take that risk given he might not get over 5% party vote.
I also think his attacks on Nationals are to some how highlight that the country needs a Nats/NZ1st collision because they’d be dangerous on their own.

    Just my thoughts.

I’m sure the Labour spin Dr’s have worked out that getting Labour voters to support Worth, could tip ACT out of the applecart.
I believe Labour’s Epsom voter isn’t your cloth cap type! and don’t forget the Greens could also join up with Labour for this stunt. If an educated Labour/green supporter wants Hide out. I’m sure they can work out the math.
