Some trade progress
October 29th, 2005 at 9:39 am by David FarrarPeter Mandelson appears to be rehabilitating himself nicely as EU Trade Commissioner. He has offered tariff cuts of up to 60%, to the dismay of Jacques Chirac who now seems to be the most protectionist politican in the world.

At least Chirac opposes free trade and says so.
Vote:Bush supports Free trade and then breaks the rules, just ask the Canadians about the US braking its Trade treaty obligations.
And to top it off the decline in farm subsidies under Clinton was reversed in the first Bush term and spending on agriculture support soared to Muldoon like levels.
Of course countries like Australia who got a free trade agreement on paper found out it excludes agriculture for 12 years, and you have to agree to the USA’s vastly more restrictive IP laws that have been indroduced in the last decade.
