UN Funding

Reuters has an article on UN funding. A group comprising of the EU, Japan, US, Canada, Australia and NZ have agreed to six months of funding capped at US$950 million, while a group of 133 countries are demanding that nine months be committed. The former group want to use the time limit to keep reform on the agenda.
Now how much does each group contribute, well here we go:
EU 35%
US 22%
Japan 19.5%
Canada 2.8%
Australia 1.6%
NZ 0.2%
Total 81.1%
So the 133 countries which contribute less than 20% are demanding the countries which contribute over 80% must commit for longer. Hmmn sounds like taxation almost

Wow.
I wish I was offered to opportunity to be a full partner in ventures at 0.2% of the investment cost.

New Zealand a full partner, give me strength. Probably the only good thing I can say is our Government pays so little money for the corrupt organisation which is a retirement home for leftist politicians. Dump it and start again.

Couldn’t agree more Tim.
The new organization should be an invitation only club. Membership prerequisites should include commitment to representative democracy. Dictatorships and human rights violators need not apply.

“human rights violators need not apply”
Andrei – an international organisation without a single member country, interesting idea…

Guys
Do the maths 0.2% of US $950 million is not small by any means when you consider our country. The question is: Is it too much???
