Rudd shows leadership

Kevin Rudd has shown leadership by backing an independent Kosovo.  He has said:

Mr Rudd said the Australian Government believed an independent Kosovo would be a good thing and it would give it official diplomatic recognition soon.

The sorry history of Kosovo means we’ve got to do whatever we can to ensure that the citizens of that part of the world are protected into the future.”The sorry history of Kosovo means we’ve got to do whatever we can to ensure that the citizens of that part of the world are protected into the future.

So what has the the clear resolute decision of the NZ Government?  Well I quote from the NZPA report:

We will neither recognise nor not recognise. Over time the way in which we deal with those who govern in the territory will I suppose imply whether there is recognition but we are not intending to make a formal statement,” Miss Clark said.

So this is what you call a principled independent foreign policy?
