Another Winston
October 9th, 2008 at 8:50 pm by David FarrarWe met Winston the peacock when working hard from the blogmobile in the Wairarapa today. They owners told us they got him around 15 years ago and named him Winston because he is:
- vain
- looks magnificent
- is noisy
- and shits on everything
Winston was truly a beautiful bird. Very friendly also.

Were you at Mt Bruce?
Where are you going to be in Hawkes Bay Saturday morning – I might try to catch you for a couple of minutes.

Yes, the Winny Peacock is entangled with the dreaded evil eye curse and the ever watchful glance of the she-demon, Helenlilith.

Winston is looking rather Green in this photo>
The Green party that promised the world but just rolled over to allow Helen to make Nuclear concessions for India!!
A vote for the Greens is a vote for Labour!!
A vote for Winston First is a vote for Labour!!

Great story in the Herald this morning about WP being heckled by an elderly female National supporter:
When he says proposed limits on water pressure in shower heads were all right, adding the two-minute limit on showers in Antarctica was enough for him, she goes in for the kill, dripping with sarcasm: “What, at only six litres a minute to wash a lovely crop of hair like yours?”

Another similarity between Winnie the Peacock and Winnie the Whiner: both are bludgers who live at other peoples’ expense.
Winnie the Peacock looks magnificent but I wouldn’t have said that about Winnie the Whiner.

Mmmmm…. sage & onion peacock.
Maybe he takes it off & runs it through the washer once a week.

Patrick Starr says:
Happy to oblige
It’s also an appropriate comparison in that the peacock’s tail feathers are reputed to allow it to resemble a snake, and thus scare off real snakes… whereas Winston (the mammalian version) tries very hard not to resemble a snake, but of late has failed abysmally.
