Blogger Drinks Christchurch Add this story to Scoopit!.

I’ve been asked to blog to see if there are many Mainlanders who would be keen to emulate Auckland and have a regular drinks gathering for bloggers and blog readers in and near Christchurch.

If people are keen, can they comment here and/or e-mail Mark.

Mark suggests a initial gathering in late February, while the weather is still good.

If they get off the ground, I’ll try and co-ordinate my travels to coincide where possible.

It’s a bit far to drive, especially after drinking. I’d be interested if anything was to kick off further south though.

I could be keen; we had a very small one at Thirsty Weta a few months back. Weta and Pomeroys are good picks for venue.

It’s not just for the Kiwiblog folks, Rufus lol though I hope to flush out a few of our fellow commentators here.

Crampton, would you be able to send me an email detailing your experiences at both those two pubs? Email is highlighted in the article above.

Belgian Beer Cafe would be another good venue, especially if the weather is half-decent.

Are they in that lineup of bars/meat markets on the edge of town with cobbled streets?

Edit: Oh no, must have mixed the Belgium with another

The Belgian Beer Cafe Torenhof has a nice tasting “tray”, and their pots of mussels are excellent! Even comes with pomme frites. :-)
