The Labour Party is essentially a complex coalition of minority interests, not least the trade union movement. Holding that show together takes some political skill. But when your core philosophy socialism is dead dead dead and trade unionism is dying the next best thing is to gather up a list of minority causes and shove then together and call it being progressive. The trick especially with maori is to select some non entities that are essentially figureheads but I call them Labour’s practical joke on maoris for voting for them. This will all fall apart but the bouyant economy, skill leadership, incumbancy, and a lousy opposition means a third term for Labour.

Tim, you are right. I hover waiting for people with agendas that have consideration for other people…for without the people…

Unless the opposition(s) change their game radically, we will have The Next Term, and it won’t be pretty this time.

Hubris will dictate that now we will all have our noses rubbed into The Agenda of the Mean, the Worship of the Mediocre.

And I’m not left or right…you know…Grey Shade.

No the third term agenda will be a consolidation that the State can do everything and the private sector is simply there to be milked for taxes. The Labour Party have no idea how the harness the resources of the private sector except to confiscate some of their income and tell then to do this or that, they way school teachers do. It should be easy peasy politics to convince the public the statism of the Labour Party is bunk, but our centre right policians are gawd awful, lazy, useless and far too keen of the easy life in opposition.

Yes quite, but it was a worthy demotion. Elevations of course are another matter altogether, some things tend to bubble and float to the surface.
