Legal Fees

Rather amused that some are upset by a trans-tasman study showing that the number of hours some law firms require their lawyers to charge weekly leads to padding some work.

An annual of 1590 chargeable hours is an average of more than seven hours a day based on 223 working days.

Somewhat reminds me of the old joke about the lawyer arrives in heaven to get feted with a special welcome. He asks why and is told because he is the oldest ever arrival having reached 185 years of age. The lawyer looks confused and then exclaims “Oh no, I'm not 185 – you must have gone off my chargeable hours” 🙂
