Was Whale Oil’s Lada overtaken on the motorway by the Rt Hon?
I believe the Rt Hon always has to be on the job as Foriegn Minister, remember he is your Foriegn Affairs Minister. There may very well have been VIP’s present and the govt of the day would expect a Minister of the Crown to be well turned & always on the job, as he could be introduced to important people who could benefit our Country. Don’t forget the Rt Hon didn’t want the job, but was forced into this role by the Govt for the greater good of NZ, you should be thanking him, not ridiculing the man. Do you expect your Foriegn Minister of the Crown & Partner to be driven to the races in the likes of Whale Oil’s Lada? No I think not!

No actually the Crown Limousine was struggling to keep up with my BMW 745i.

Nice of you to admit he was going to the races, I didn’t mention that in my post, therefore Cadmus you must either be Peters or Trotman or inserted firmly up one of those two’s backside as I didn’t see anyone else in the car beside the driver.

Now please explain to me the government business of the day that occured at the Auckland Cup.

Now its true that Winston did promise to forgo the baubles of office, but to be fair, he is the Minister of Racing, and yesterday was Auckland Cup Race Day. While we might be derisive of Winston’s breaking of the baubles promise, he was probably attending in an official capacity.

What I wonder is what the rest of NZ First are doing. I imagine the parliamentary team like a train at a station when the locomotive is uncoupled and moves off. The rest of the train looks pretty helpless.

Rodney Hide working his butt off while No2 Heather Roy is more interested in drinking & Partying during the week, and leaving her 5 children without a mother, shame!

Camryn, Chris, I was only going by what I read on this Blog, DPF was out drinking late one nite during the week, and MP Heather Roy joined his party.
So how I read it was Rodney Hide was conked out & exhausted in bed after a day of heavy politics. While Mrs Roy was drinking & partying with DPF late into the nite!
I don’t care what DPF gets up to, that’s his business, but I’m paying for Mrs Roy, just like I am paying for a Parent on a benefit who is also out and not worried about Children at home. If I was an ACT supporter I wouldn’t be to happy if I new Rodney Hide was proping up what some might call..a freeloader?

Cadmus: your use of the term “freeloader” is ill-advised. Do you agree that there is a distinction between paying Heather Roy to be an MP (and there’s no suggestion that she didn’t perform her duties as an MP that day) and paying for her drinks?

On your logic, there appears to be no distinction. That would mean, for example, that we should be outraged whenever Winston Peters empties his glass in Courtney Place – perhaps while making important foreign affairs decisions over a bottle of whisky. Or is Winston the only MP that you will allow to schmooze at parties?

I’m not talking about Rt Hon. Like Rodney, Rt Hon is party leader. I’m talking about what the 2 IC gets up to, NZ1 have several MP’s, ACT only Hide & Roy. Hide does all the work, The more MP’s the lighter the Load NZ1 . How I and others see it Roy is just a passenger on Rodney’ overloaded shoulders, if I was an ACT member I would be wanting Roy to share the workload, but I don’t really care let Hide do all the work he will only burn out sooner than later.

Cadmus, We hear plenty from Heather Roy. She takes the trouble to email out comments. Apart from Ron Marks with an occasional comment on defense matters when do we get emailed comments or any comments for that matter from NZ First members? Where did you get that rot about Heather Roy. What do you know about her child minding arrangements? Criticise her if you want but at least make it intelligent criticism.

The night I saw Heather at the BB, she was with her husband and it was her husband’s birthday. Perhaps Cadmus thinks MPs should not be allowed to go out with their spouses on their birthday!

Lets get one thing straight if Mrs Roy wants to go out drinking I have no problem with that either, I just feel sorry for hard working Rodney Hide. I feel Mrs Roy is ineffective as an MP, leaving Rodney to do all the work, which isn’t a fair go!
To be honest Mrs Roy should have sticked to her knitting and joined the local school board or PTA, or what ever they call it now, instead of leaving her young family to play politics. I personaly don’t believe a women with 5 young children should be in the Parliament, it comes across as a bad image in my book. Sure, if her children had left secondary school thats fine for her to look at a career. On the positive side Mrs Roy will be out of Parliament and back with her family after next election.

Cadmus, how the heck is Heather Roy’s personal family life any of your business? What makes you think you have the right to say what’s right and wrong for her? For all you know it could be working out very well for her and her family. You have absolutely no idea how they deal with it or what they do to manage the situation they’re in. You have nothing to back what you’re saying. If she wants to be in parliament, that’s her decision, and that’s absolutely fine. She’s done nothing wrong.

Now that we have established Winnie’s ride on the gravy train (if he impressed her enough to get lucky). How about asking him why it is so necessary that NZ suport terrorists? Half a mill could surely help many patients on the ever increasing waiting lists for serious operations. Perhaps it might reduce a few more queues for chemo? How about Zowie? $2m on him and a new set of pearly whites, plus he managed to push his way ahead of the queue. Give the current circumstances why is he still here? Howcome I regular see him at the airport? Has he actually reached the celebrity status that TVNZ is quick to promote? Meanwhile, a family of 4 are getting the boot, for what? Changing jobs? Taxpayers are now un-desirables in NZ?

No, not sexist at all. Many believe a caring mother would be more interested being at home looking after her husband & 5 children rather than farming them out for a political career. Many would also agree with me that those voters who support family values may not have given ACT their vote because of Mrs Roys choice of Politics over family?
Look this has got off the topic. DPF cleared the air with the post it was her Husbands Birthday, and they went out to celebate, fair enough! But then some may ask why wasn’t the Birthday a family affair? Still not a good look in my book, but again that’s life in the ACT Party!

Cadmus, whether or not you believe a mother should be at home caring for her children, it’s not for you to decide. If you don’t want to be a working mother, then fine, don’t be one. It doesn’t have to be forced upon everyone else as well though. People can make their own decisions.

Also, I doubt that anyone who is dumb enough (and left enough!) to not vote for a party just because one member isn’t at home with her kids wouldn’t be voting for Act anyway.
