Can someone explain why the Immigration volume in the ‘Investor Category’ into NZ has gone from 1000+ in 2002 to just one so far in 2008?

With Kiwis departing by the plane load to OZ, surely it makes sense to try and attract the best of the best from around the World?

Or do we want just 4m peeps through time?

Who the fuck is Clinton Smith and why is he link whoring all over town (Ok, the stuff political blogs) to the pathetic leftie propaganda blog purported to be run “from the inside” and featuring such wonderfully insightful and unbiased commentators as “Steve Pierson”?

Is Matthew Pilott, great leftie blog commentator and defender of the glorious incumbent government, in anyway related to Brenda Pilott, secretary of the PSA?

Is he now posting simply as “Matt” on the stuff blogs?

Can we bring back philu? The dog, amongst others, is probably sick to death of him by now and I like watching retards embarassing themselves in public.

Leaving “The Standard” out of my response there is nothing wrong with “link whoring”. It is an honorable trade and is currently putting food on my table. I am proud to be called a “link whore” and have even registered the domain name (linkwhore.co.nz) for use in my retirement.

Not clear why Clinton Smith is still posting as Steve Pierson now that he has come out ?

I wonder if the offender was a man if there would have been criminal charges and if the there would have been name suppression.

It is good that she accepts that she deserves to be struck off but blames a relationship breakup with her former fiance

How much sympathy would a man get with that excuse?

A teacher has been struck off for having a sexual relationship with one of her teenage pupils.

The woman, who is in her early 30s and has two young children, says she is deeply ashamed and blames a relationship breakup with her former fiance for leaving her “emotionally vulnerable”.

Documents issued yesterday by the Teachers Council show the woman’s life slid out of control after she and the youth, who was 12 years her junior, were caught out. She was disowned by her parents, admitted to hospital for depression and twice tried to take her own life. A psychologist’s report indicated she suffered from anxiety disorders and borderline personality traits.

In 2005 the woman, who was in her first year of teaching, began a sexual relationship with the year 12 pupil which lasted several weeks. She refused to name the youth when confronted by school authorities, saying his parents wanted to deal with the emotional fallout themselves and feared gossip.

“Regret does not even begin to describe my feelings about the relationship … I feel terrible about what the school and his family have been through,” she wrote.

“At the time when I was dealing with a relationship breakup I became close to a group of students and entered into a sexual relationship with one of the students.

“The past seven months have been the worst in my life. I felt so ashamed for what I did to my school and my departments. Also my family. I really let everyone down. I have felt I deserved everything coming to me.”

At a disciplinary tribunal hearing in June, prosecuting lawyer Jenny Gibson said the teacher had abused her position of trust and breached ethical obligations.

The tribunal ruled that any sexual relationship between a pupil and teacher was serious, formally censured the woman and ordered her to be struck off.

I am seriously pissed off with the olympics coverage. The state owned monopoly television station insists on giving us what they want us to see. We cannot follow anything else despite having a sky television service which could cover any number of sports in HD as well. This state owned monopoly only covers NZ stuff, not in HD. Next time TVNZ could be permitted to have coverage of events where there is a NZ presence and have no monopoly agreement forcing us to watch the amateurish coverage by TVNZ.
