Clayton Cosgrove is effectively trashing any chance his own State-Owned Enterprises and Crown Entities (Protecting New Zealand’s Strategic Assets) Amendment Bill will get anywhere.

“This is the acid test for the Government. If National doesn’t support this bill it will be clear they are readying more assets like KiwiRail for sale.”

That’s relatively diplomatic of him.

And he’s long burnt any bridges to Peter Dunne enabling his bill. Using his own words, “today is the day when ‘never’ comes home to roost”.

Seems like simply an attempted Gotcha bill.

With the LIBOR scandal exploding into the Main stream Media and John Key’s silence on the subject, Pension funds imploding leaving millions without a pension and the fact that a new Zealand Merrill Lynch investment/Wealth management banker took place on the first board of Guardians of the Cullen fund in 2002 just when Merrill Lynch started to sell their subprime crap to pension funds all over the world I thin that the Serious Fraud Squad should have a look at the Cullen Fund, the board of Guardians of that time and whether John Key was involved in providing the board with their Merrill Lynch banker.

Just as I thought…

Gays aren’t interested in gay marriage either. In fact, they “don’t give a toss” about it. It’s something being pushed from the top down to make the rest of us feel like we’ve done them a service and to pat ourselves on the back.

Gay and lesbian marriage may be a hot topic in Parliament, but “the average gay guy couldn’t give a toss about it”, a stalwart of Christchurch’s gay community says.

Aprivate member’s bill to allow same-sex couples to marry was today drawn from a ballot and will be debated by Parliament, potentially as early as next month.

The bill, led by Labour MP Louisa Wall, is likely to be subject to a conscience vote but will have the support of Labour leader David Shearer and all Green Party MPs.

Bruce Williamson, who has run gay nightclubs in Christchurch since the early 1980s, was “not even remotely interested in the issue”.

“The average gay guy couldn’t care less about anything that resembles the institution of conventional heterosexual marriage,” he said.

“It has no relevance to their lives. The majority couldn’t give a toss about it and I have no idea why people are obsessing over it.”

The drawing of the bill was a “non-event” for Williamson, and he said many people in the gay and lesbian community were asking “why we are discussing it” via online blogs and forums.

He believed the controversial issue was “being driven by only a few people who enjoy a good bandwagon to climb on”, but the issue of same-sex marriages was not a “common topic of conversation” in Christchurch’s gay community.

“I don’t need validity of any relationship I am in, and in my experience others feel the same way. People couldn’t care less about it,” he said.

Conservative Party leader Colin Craig will be eyeing debate over the bill as a platform to increase his party’s support.

Last night he said it would be “an election issue” in 2014 and that the Conservatives were “the only party with a clear policy of supporting the definition of marriage as being between a man and a woman”.

Marriage equality is unlikely to be an election issue in 2014. The bill that’s just been drawn will be dealt with well before then, one way or another.

If the bill passes and if Craig promotes policy against it in the next election he will simply draw attention to the type of party that Conservatives really are. And the voters will judge on that.

But there would be virtually no chance of the Conservatives changing the legislation, everyone else will have moved on.

Didn’t the Civil Union Act do away with all the controversy over “rights” for gays by conferring on them the same legal relationship as marriage without pissing off the larger majority who still believe that the term “marriage” has a particular meaning historically?

Random impertinent question:
Why is it that homosexuals continue to bastardise the English language by re-defining perfectly good words, the meanings of which are specific and widely acknowledged? “gay” is one (and yes, I used it above), “marriage” is about to become another.

Are you sure this is the case? Our IOC member Barry Maister was interviewed a couple of days ago, He was asked having been at the 72 games whether he ever thought of those athletes, he replied that of course he thought of them because at every olympics since there has been an official memorial service

Trainspotters may have read the public notice in the Herald yesterday wherin the Auckland Maori Statutory board have refused to disclose heir residential addresses (District only was required) in spite of an Ombudsman edict. Could it be that the chairman (who lives somewhere near Thames) would have difficulty justifying his position and outrageous remuneration to the Auckland ratepayers?

Dear Ms Bright

COMPLAINT REGARDING THE HONOURABLE JOHN BANKS – MAYORAL ELECTIONS RETURN – FILE NO: 120427/9334 REFERS

On 27 april 2012, you made a complaint to the Auckland City Police requesting they investigate reports regarding the Hon. John banks, CNZM QSO, that he submitted a false donation return in respect to the Auckland City Council Mayoral election 2010.

Specifically the letter of complaint referred to two donations in question:

1. A $15,000.oo donation allegedly made by Sky City to the former Auckland City Mayor John banks which did not show up as a donation in the return.

2. A donation of “Anonymous – radio ads”.

On Monday 30 April 2012 you made a further complaint in respect to the election expenses donation return by Mr John Banks. Your complaint referred to media articles by Campbell Live (27 April 2012) and the the New Zealand herald (28 April 2012) that discussed donations allegedly made by Mr Dotcom to Mr Banks for his mayoral campaign.

In both complaints you allege that if the articles were correct then Mr Banks had breached the Local electoral Act 2001 in that a candidate commits an offence who transmits a return of electoral expenses knowing that it is false in any material particular.

Findings:

The allegations you refer to are offences that come under Part 7 section 134 (False return) of the Local electoral Act 2001. I will detail each donation and its findings.

Section 134 has two levels of offences pertaining to false returns:

134 (1) Every candidate commits an offence who transmits a return of electoral expenses knowing that it is false in any material particular, and is liable on conviction on indictment to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years or to a fine not exceeding $10,000.

134 (2) Every candidate commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $5000 who transmits a return of electoral expenses that is false in any material particular unless the candidate proves –

(a) that he or she had no intention to mis-state or conceal the facts; and
(b) that he or she took all reasonable steps to ensure that the information was accurate.

Skycity Entertainment Group Limited – $15,000:

The Police investigation established that on 24 May 2010 Mayor John Banks met with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sky city Entertainment Group Limited. At that meeting mayor Banks received a sealed envelope containing a $15,000.00 cheque written out to “Team Banksie 2010”. Team Banksie was the name given to Mr Bank’s campaign organisation. this donation was subsequently recorded in the electoral Return by the Treasurer for Team Banksie as anonymous.

Police were unable to establish that Mr Banks had the necessary knowledge that the donation had been recorded as anonymous in the return before he signed and submitted it. The return was compiled by a campaign volunteer. Mr Banks sought and received confirmation that it was an accurate return of his expenses before signing it and transmitting the return. Police are therefore of the view that there is insufficient evidence to consider a prosecution in respect of section 134(1).

Any charges for offences pursuant to section 134(2) must be laid within six months of the electoral return being supplied. Police first received the complaint for investigation on 27 April 2012, approximately 10 months after the expiry of six month period. Police are therefore unable to consider charges pursuant to this section.

Anonymous Radio Ads $15,690.00

Police have established that in September 2010 Mr John Banks personally solicited a request for help from a Donor who prefers to remain anonymous for the purpose of this correspondence. As a result of a discussion between the two it was agreed that the Donor would help with a donation of radio advertising for the campaign.

The donation was recorded on the return by the Treasurer for Team Banksie as an ‘Anonymous’ donation of $15690.00 and also as an advertising expense of $15690.00 in the expenses section of the return.

Police were unable to establish that Mr BANKS had the necessary knowledge that the donation had been recorded as anonymous in the return before he signed and submitted it.

Police are therefore of the view that there is insufficient evidence to consider a prosecution in respect of section 134(1).

Kim Dotcom donations:

Police have established that on 09 June 2010 Mr John Banks personally solicited a donation from Mr Kim Dotcom. this request resulted in Mr Kim Dotcom paying two $25,000.00 donations to the bank account of Team Banksie 2010 on 14 July 2010. Both donations were subsequently recorded in the Electoral Return by the Treasurer for Team Banksie as anonymous.

Police were unable to establish that Mr Banks had the necessary knowledge that the donation had been recorded as anonymous in the return before he signed and submitted it. the return was compiled by a campaign volunteer. Mr Banks sought and received confirmation that it was an accurate return of his expenses before signing and transmitting the return. Police are therefore of the view that there is insufficient evidence to consider a prosecution in respect of section 134(1).

Any charges for offences pursuant to section 134(2) must be laid within six months of the electoral return being supplied. Police first received the complaint for investigation on 1 May 2012, approximately 10 months after the expiry of six month period. Police are therefore unable to consider charges pursuant to this section.

On 14 June 1012 you sent an email to Detective Inspector Benefield requesting Police extend the investigation of John banks for alleged electoral fraud to further include alleged “corruption and bribery of an official” under section 105 of the Crimes Act 1961.

After a review of the circumstances and information gathered in this investigation I cannot find any evidence that would support a charge in relation to section 105 of the Crimes Act 1961.

The file is now complete and will be filed at the Auckland Central Police Station.

Homosexuals and not merely men and women who prefer the same sex, but people who are “pansexual” In other words, they (the men in particular) are people who seek sexual gratification in any place and by any means available in order to satisfy their erotic desires. They are sexual hedonists in the truest sense of the word and long standing MONOGAMOUS relationships are the last thing most homosexuals want. This is just one more reason why “gay marriage” is such a fraud.

Your ‘argument’ could be likened to the election night results for the demented water woman… she only needed an extra, let’s say, 200,000 votes or so, and she may have been an electorate MP. But that didn’t happen either… in fact, in her case the ‘informals’ polled higher that her personal support.

All people, gay, straight or whatever enjoy the same freedoms and have the same restrictions on marriage. The whole gay marriage argument boils down to two furphys (dare I call them falshehoods):

The first is that it’s about ‘marriage inequality’. That furphy is used by activists to guilt good-hearted people to support their cause.

The other is that if you love someone you should be able to marry them. Really? Anyone I love I can marry? What sentimentalist claptrap! How specious! I can marry my mum? My dog? Someone else’s husband? And the state – some faceless public servant – is going to define and approve what is love? How sinister and absurd!

Penny, It would appear from your letter that the Police find “Mr Banks sought and received confirmation that it was an accurate return of his expenses before signing and transmitting the return.”
But knowing he had had at least one donation passed personally to him, into his own hands, he did not check to reconcile that, nor apparently read the document himself before signing it. It is apparent Banks did not take ALL reasonable steps to ensure the information was accurate.

Police have established that on 09 June 2010 Mr John Banks personally solicited a donation from Mr Kim Dotcom. this request resulted in Mr Kim Dotcom paying two $25,000.00 donations to the bank account of Team Banksie 2010 on 14 July 2010. Both donations were subsequently recorded in the Electoral Return by the Treasurer for Team Banksie as anonymous.

Dotcom made two donations of $25,000 each, because Banks asked for them to be made that way. No one has explained publicly why the request was made for a spilt donation. The only logical explanation is that they could be recorded as anonymous even although Banks knew who made them.
He should have asked his Treasurer if those had appeared at all, and if they had, checked how they were recorded.

Penny, I am surprised you appended no comment of your own with the posting of this Police response.

Aside – Banks has widely professed to being Christian. He should read Proverbs 23:7 a few times, so he can remember it

After 10 years together, one Christchurch couple have never considered marriage – because they have never had the right to.

However, new legislation could open the way for Craig Johnstone, 46, and Brad Howlett, 43, to tie the knot, along with hundreds of other homosexual couples in New Zealand.

A private member’s bill to allow same-sex couples to marry was drawn from a ballot yesterday and will be debated by Parliament, potentially as early as next month.

Johnstone and Howlett believed legalising gay and lesbian marriages would be the “last great hurdle” for equal rights.

“Once marriage comes in, we have beaten the prejudice. There is nothing else the liberation movement has to aim for,” Johnstone said.

The couple have been in a “long-term, stable relationship” for 10 years but had chosen not to get a civil union because it was perceived as a “second-rate relationship”. Marriage had never been discussed “because it was never an option”.

If the bill was passed, the couple would consider walking down the aisle but “formalising our love” was “not a huge priority” to the two men.

“For us it’s not a big deal. We are comfortable as it is but everybody should have the choice,” Howlett said.

“We are not looking for special rights; we are looking for equal rights.”

If the legislation was passed, Howlett said it would represent “society saying ‘It’s OK’ “, to the gay community.

He recalled growing up in the early 90s in Tasmania when it was still illegal to be gay and said society had taken “huge steps” towards equality in the last few decades. The pair said they knew of other gay and lesbian couples in Christchurch who would choose to marry if the option was made available.

More details emerge on Mrs Kim, but still no information on whether or not she likes Looking At Things. After his father died and he took over, Kim Jong Un spent some time Looking At Things so he has obviously inherited the family tradition. However marriages often do better if the spouses share an interest. If Mrs Kim didn’t like Looking At Things then that wouldn’t bode well for their marriage.

Work what out? The philadelphia experiment never happened, Tesla did some early pioneering work on AC and radio. There is no link to time travel. The site you linked passed off legitimate photos, and artwork, as being related to HAARP when they aren’t pretty much indicating that it isn’t a reliable website.

The only ‘evidence’ you’ve presented comes from a dodgy website, and a physicist who can’t get his work on arxiv and instead has to use vixra, and who has published his ‘unified theory of gravity and electromagnetism’ in an obscure journal, that doesn’t normally publish this stuff, rather than one of the mainstream physics journals. You don’t seem to have any idea how easy it is for crackpots to come up with theories that are superficially plausible to non-experts but which are in fact nonsense.

Sadly if you haven’t recognised we live in world where the mainstream is manipulated all the time to produce perverted acceptable results then you are beyond hope for you are not only blind you are also foolish.

As I said in the beginning of this evening’s discourse.

You need to follow Conan Doyle: eliminate the impossible and whatever’s left, however absurd, has to be the case. If more people applied that to 911, for example, the world would not be about to go to war with Iran, because more people would have seen the steps which have been leading up to that, over the last decade or so.

But you just keep in the “mainstream” chiz. Remember, that’s where the English were in the 1930’s, and didn’t history just prove how utterly correct they truly were.

What faith in mainstream science? I have doubts about some mainstream science. On the other hand I also have a lot of confidence in things like peer review, and I also understand how easy it is to produce “science” that can superficially appear reasonable to people who don’t know their science very well. The website you linked to has basic credibility issues, as I’ve already pointed out, and part way through the paper it links to it is clear that isn’t credible either.
