Right of way is Way of Right

Economists are starting to come around to Stephen Joyce’s way of thinking.

ANZ economists are forecasting that Labour will need to borrow about 13 billion dollars more than it’s pre-election fiscal update maintained it would over the next four years.

This echoes resoundingly with Stephen Joyces assertions in the leadup to the Election that there was a huge hole in the financial predictions that Grant Robertson was putting forward to the electorate. Economists were quick to criticise Joyce at the time, but as I suspected, it would appear that he was a lot closer to the mark.

Labour will no doubt try to spin it’s way out of this by claiming that the new spending is required under the coalition agreement, but that’s rather disingenuous.

The frightening thing is that the projected debt levels are conservative, and dependant on the economy staying relatively strong. With Winston talking down the chances of prosperity from day one, the future looks bleak.

The next election campaign should be a belter, and Ganesh Nana can just shut up for the next three years!!

I went to the Herald this morning (first mistake), but left after 30 seconds, having concluded that nothing has happened in the world, apart from a thunderstorm in Auckland, a cop with cancer (sad for the family, but not news), the seedy world of Bikram yoga, a heroin couple did something, a “star” talks about parties, and Lorde had a concert.

        All week we have been getting the tooth fairy shooting her mouth of about her (or David Parker’s achievements) only to learn later it was not as she described. Then there was a telling piece in a discussion on RNZ this morning after 7.00am between John Campbell & Patrick O’Mara. It appears Taxcinda is friendless amongst international leaders. O’Mara related the tale as told to him by others in the NZ press pack, that Taxcinda appears friendless to the extent that Turnbull (who she met 10 days ago) did not introduce her to the leaders at the 2 summits she has attended. This contrasts with Key, who was introduced to other world leaders by Kevin Rudd at his first summit

        US estimates were close to $1million per refugee, and that is for run of the mill islamic 3rd worlders, not the bad-uns of Manu.
        
        In the west only about 25% of refugees from Islamic shitholes end up not on welfare. You have to pay several $100k per head for accommodation, and $20k year or more on living and health costs for 40-60years, and then many multiples of that for the relatives they bring in (something like 18 for Ahmed Zaoui), and all the criminality that comes with them.
        
        You won’t get change from $500k each, and likely several times that.

        Bill or anybody, I’ve got some serious questions about this $3mill give away from the ODA budget, at what point did the fairy princess get authority to commit the money in this manner? She almost didn’t get it from the cabinet, there wouldn’t have been time for cabinet paper & decision; did she speak to Winnie Poo before she started doling out his ODA budget.
        
        She is meant to be the PM of NZ, not a President of Zimbabwe. Has she not heard of collective cabinet responsibility? She is not meant to be making up NZ foreign policy on her gut instinct. It is little wonder, many of us have no respect for in the role of PM. Thank you Winnie Poo

    This morning on Red Radio was a report that Twitford’s plans for KiwiBuild are going to result in no more homes being built over the next decade than was the regime prior to the election. It seems the Reserve Bank has identified:
    1. There will be no additional builders or construction workers available under Labour, so builders etc. will have to be made available from the existing pool. So unless Twitford has a magic formula to make a builder more productive, the number of houses is not going to grow in number; and
    2. The RB also identified that there were also indications that a number of homes already planned to be built by the private sector are being redesignated as KiwiBuild. So, net increase in homes built is zero.
    
    When Twitford was questioned about this report & whether Liebour had misled the public during the election, his response was “KiwiBuild was not about building more homes, but about building more affordable homes”. Oh dear, it seems the policy was predicated on a solid foundation of Liebore porkies. If this pattern continues defeating the CoL at the next election.

      Typical. They can’t make it work the way they intended, so they redefine houses already being built as being under KiwiBuild and then they can claim “X houses built under KiwiBuild”, even though no more houses were built. I do struggle to understand how the Government can magically make the same houses any cheaper / less expensive than they would have been though, unless they plan to subsidise them with our money.

  From the “you couldn’t make this s*** up” pile, I heard I think on ZB News yesterday afternoon that Labour “have discovered” that “National have hidden the costs” when Labour transitioned to govt, meaning that Labour are inheriting less money than expected to fund their multi-billion dollar election bribes!
  
  To which I say “BS Labour – stop lying”! You Labour turkeys over-promised spending by $billions of election bribes (that’s not even counting NZF’s tens of $billions of election bribes plus a few $billions from the Greens).
  
  These Labour Govt turkeys won’t even make public the costs of the Labour-NZF Coalition spending promises (apparently it will be released in December – pathetic – and what’s the bet they won’t)!
  
  More like economic reality from Treasury has hit Labour and Robbo’s backsides and now Labour are panicking and spinning to deflect and invent blame (and to lessen expectations to their supporters)!
  
  Meanwhile Jacinda is giving away $3M of ~~our~~ her money to the Manus Island detainees – WTF how about letting the Australians sort that out and we use that $3M for our own Kiwi’s in poverdy??
  
  I even heard on Morning Report’s 7am news bulletin something about Labour dismissing some other concerns from Treasury (sorry too sleepy at the time to recall what it was)!

  I don’t believe that this is taking into account the extra spending that has to be allowed for in operational increases as well.
  
  Teachers are wanting a 14.5% pay increase, Nash has talked about increasing Police pay, and Parker has also talked of increasing the size of the public service.
  
  This $13b is only the beginning. It will be interesting to see how they try to hide/justify it.

  The Tasman is a very treacherous stretch of water, I can attest from first hand experience, I have crossed it by sea more times than I can remember. The boats that people smugglers generally use are not designed for those sorts of waters. In attempting to reach NZ, they may make it, but many wont. Any vessel that founders in the Tasman trying to make it to NZ will result in fatalities, the cause of which must be laid squarely at the feet of this misguided coalition, and Prime Minister Ardern bypassing reality for vague promises of false hope!

      Hopefully the Aussie Navy will continue their fine humanitarian work in rescuing these queue jumpers from the hands of the people smugglers. Remove the passengers, sink the boat, send em back. Do that enough times, people get the message, and they will stop coming.

      Are you sure it’s about ‘Asian’ refugees, or islamic ones, who happen to be Asian when from Indonesia? I doubt that Australians have concerns about hard working, sensible people from Korea or Hong Kong who are not going to be religious extremists.

    With your schema/conspiracy of the “Long March through our institutions” (otherwise known as an example of “the contest of ideas over time in a liberal democracy” by the less tribal of us 😉 ), that would be a fair question. However, I would suggest Hanlon’s Razor offers a better explanation: “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity”. And stupid/naive sumps up the Ardern approach to foreign policy thus far. 😉
    
    Labour and the Greens genuinely believe the Aussie policy is wrong, and are using multilateral means to do something about it. Same as when we took the French to the World Court in 1973 over nuclear testing in the atmosphere at Mururoa. That and the famed despatch of the HMNZS Otago to Mururoa in 1973 by Big Norma Kirk. 😉

Was surprised to see Margaret Wilson back as Speaker – but she looked like Trevor Mallard !
Like Wilson he has been told by H2 that she must give no favours to anybody but Labour.

His Maori pronunciation was appalling to say the least, now that he has changed it.
He has set up new partisanship Speaker’s rules to suit the incompetent Labour Ministers.
The schoolteacher from Northland decided to diatribe in Maori whilst those around him looked utterly bored.
He could not answer any questions without looking for comments from the fat one next to him.
Come back Cindy – at least you can talk !! (and how) and Wilson/Mallard/H2 will let you at everybody else’s expense.

  Seems to be rail strike only according to Metlink site. Golly! that was short notice.
  The last bus strike in Wellington (I cannot remember how along ago but it was close to Christmas) fell flat on its face. The Council ran the buses then and the majority of Councillors would not budge and people walked to and from work grim faced but did not complain to the Council.
  Perhaps the Rail and Maritime Union want to put the skids under Jacinda.
  By the way, Why does Grant Robertson have his electorate office in their building? Do they offer him cheap rent?

  The union leader on RNZ this morning tried to sound reasonable, but didn’t seem to understand the difference between ‘minimum wage’ and ‘living wage’. One moment he was telling us that a ‘living wage’ needed to be $20.20 p.h., then that some staff weren’t getting the ‘minimum wage’, which of course for is $15.75. Confusing, what could he mean? Adult NZ workers get at least the minimum wage. So if what they are pushing for is all to get at least the ‘living wage’, he needs to clarify that and Wellingtonians need to know what that will mean for their commuting costs.

Tracey Martin, proof you don’t need to understand the importance of what your ministerial responsibilities are when you would rather purse your own dogma.

For whatever reason, Taxcinda made Martin Most Mister of Internal Affairs, Minister of Children & Minister of Seniors. Now, dead babies, child poverdee & SuperGold aside, what the f**k does the Minister of Children & Seniors do, that a number of other ministries/Ministers don’t already cover? Needless to say the good minister believes these to be her most important responsibilities, &not Minister of Internal Affairs, which happens to be responsible for issuing of passports and border security.
This is courtesy of an interview published in the Rodney Times last Thursday.
In the same article she saw it as important to expand the use of the SGC scheme, with particular reference to particular reference to public transport for seniors, she (stupidly) noted she wanted to do do more for seniors & public transport in Warkworth (pork barrel). Shows how much she reads local media, because if she had she’d know the locally provided services are poorly patronised for a number of reasons.

In conclusion, if this is an example of the calibre of CoL ministers:
1. This country will be a mess after 3 yesrs; and
2. The next election will be hard to lose.

Turned on Red Radio this morning without thinking and ‘Red rag’ Campbell was interviewing a Union hack about the the upcoming rail strike.
Was told the rail workers just had a 2% pay increase but wanted a 20% on top (living wage). The union was asked what rates the workers were on but the union man said he did not have those figures? So the union have no idea what their worker earn?.
John was dropping one patsy question after another as the union man talked about profits going overseas and the workers not having enough to live on. Started to gag so I turned off the radio. Does anyone know how long Campbell and Hill are going to be on Red Radio in the mornings?

    Of late other than Hill & Campbell, the most dubious has to be the portraying of Matthew Hootton as a represent of the right. Other than his contacts (mother in law & his friend the National MP), his insights seem to becoming sycophantically favouring the CoL. One is left wondering, if, he has CoL members/supporters as clients?
    Last week Hootton was telling listeners how good the new govt was, on Monday he back tracked. On Monday, he was extolling the virtues of Taxcinda et al. and they did over CPTPPA, but 24 hours later we learn they have not completed the deal & in fact they still don’t know what the schedule is to conclude and sign the deal.
    Message to Hootton the PR man, you really need to learn to restrain your enthusiasm and out bursts in such public manners. Equally, what Monday showed, is that Mike Williams has been too busy chasing corporate directorships to have useful insights about the current Labour Party.

Heard Smelly on Zb this morning having orgasms over the news that Nz may end up taking the Manus darlings.

To her credit she read out a flurry of texts/tweets all condemning the decision to bring these people to our shores. Most cited security concerns esp sexual predatory ones.

One particular text quoted the incidents that occurred in Cologne (During the 2015/2016 New Year’s Eve celebrations, there were mass sexual assaults, 24 alleged rapes, and numerous thefts in Germany, mainly in Cologne city center.)

Smelly scoffed and said “REALLY?”

She then went on to lament the poor plight of Rohingya people and how there women were victims of rape.

The sooner this airhead dissapears into the wilderness the better.

Which is weird state of affairs if you stand back and look at it as everyone is born to a family which is where there most intense loyalty should naturally be, followed by their nation/tribe.

The march of the Marxists has been so successful that in addition to “left” vs. “right”, what would now identify along class lines (thanks Marxism), sex (thanks Feminism), and surgically changed sex (thanks Magnus Hirschfeld). The only thing remaining of normal order left in Western countries is that the rapidly growing hostile “minorities” (thanks Mass immigration) have it drummed it into them to think of themselves along racial lines.       Having recently been to Israel and seen them at first hand I think their success is down to their total dedication to education, hard work and sheer energy. Their society is an island of peace (yes, because they keep it that way), orderliness, technology, science and innovation run along democratic lines. This in a sea of chaos, warmongering, bickering, terror, corruption and tribal hatreds.
      
      I found the Jews friendly and open (although a little distant sometimes towards Gentiles) and they look a bit weird in their funny hats and their tassles, but they certainly know a thing or two about how to get ahead as a country. And they make great coffee and little sweet snacks too.

        For heavens sake, (((EAD))), I’m not a classical music expert, but even I know that there are plenty of famous Jewish classical musicians. Check a few lists of famous/greatest 2oth century classical pianists, for example, and in most 20%-30% are Jewish (e.g., Lhevinne, Hofmann, Schnabel, Rubinstein, Hess, Serkin, Horowitz, Ashkenazy, Argerich, Barenboim, Perahia). Off the top of my head, I can think of Stern, Menuhen, Ositrach, Perlman among the violinists (not sure about some of those spellings, sorry).
        True, the canon of great classical composers is a pretty goy bunch, but the churches and aristocracy weren’t employing a lot of Jewish composers (or artists) back then.

Half a dozen (non Maori) groups have combined with the tribe to call for a closure and those same (non Maori) groups have been talking about closure with the council for a few months. That is why the article says “considering the measure”. They have been, for a long time now.
        
        This is not a new proposal. That there is a tribe now calling for it is but that doesn’t translate to a cause and effect.

Maori have every right to ensure the well being and protection of areas of economic, cultural and spiritual importance.   Waitakere was proudly the first Agenda 21 city. They have recently decreed that all roads in our the area wll have rough chip, not smooth seal. (to stop more visitors or make a more rural aesthetic you decide) and their is a wildlink programme, buffer zones, heritage areas. Closing off the core zone is exactly what is happening globally. The prediction was that they would deny access to wilderness areas as per the wildlands map. Auckland has a wildland it is the Waitakere’s and the foothills are the buffer zones, they have been building wildlinks from TitiriMatangi across the north West. I guess it depends how far they take it . But the Kauri Dieback is highly politicised and a quick drive out to Piha you’ll see a lush dense healthy massive forest.

  That could mean import entries and costs and possible need for a Customs agent to deal with the paperwork adding around $150 for buying $250 of goods on Aliexpress.
  For small businesses GST at the border is irrelevant. If it is to be collected then it will only be refunded on the the next scheduled return. The customs and agent costs won’t.

    I’m sure you’re aware that companies like Amazon, Apple & Netflix are already collecting GST for digital purchases. It will be pretty trivial to get them to add physical goods to what it’s collected on. Directly imported stuff will still be cheaper than what you can buy here though…
    
    The Aussies are about to do the same thing to, with something like a AU$75k threshold. I only sell about AU$30k to Australia at the moment, but if something I’m doing now works out like I’m hoping, I’ll be over the threshold and have to collect Aussie GST too. All pretty trivial, and hopefully Xero and the Aussie tax office will work out an integrated GST filing system like they do now for the NZ one.

At last someone in the MSM gets one of the main problems with driverless vehicles:

We’ve had automatic pilots for ships and planes for decades, yet driverless vehicles are not a reality yet.

The main reason for this is that the sky and the sea are highly predictable environments. Sheep and kids don’t run across the road in front of you.

There is also some leeway in the precision and accuracy of the control functions. A ship that is a few metres off its desired track or a plane that is a few tens of metres high or low are not going to cause a problem. It is a completely different matter with land vehicles.

But by far the largest issue is identifying and navigating unexpected hazards.

If you see something moving on the road you’re probably going to make a pretty good determination of whether it is just an old crisp packet discarded by a lout and can be safely run over or whether it is Paddles, the PMs ex-cat that should preferably be avoided. Computerised vision would really struggle to make the determination.

When a human driving through Christchurch comes up to road works which might require going into new lanes, stopping for a stop/go sign or such, a human can cope pretty well. Computers generally have very fixed algorithms and just might not cope so well.

Come to a four-way stop (or for that matter an idoit driver making mistakes) and human drivers are pretty good at determining what to do and figuring things out on the fly. Software – not so much. It is quite conceivable that two driverless cars could wait for hours waiting for the other vehicle to go – just because they don’t have the ability to interact with each other effectively. What’s going to happen when a vehicle using Toyota’s V1.2 software does not negotiate well with Honda’s V1.3 software?

I’ve worked with control systems on and off for the last 30+ years. They”re a nightmare to get right even in very constrained environments. Out on the roads it’s going to be a nightmare.

I heard on radio this morning that Alibaba’s annual “singles day” ( for 2017 it was last Saturday) generated US$25 billion in sales. Just reading that their competitor JD.com generated US$19 billion with their equivalent sale –but theirs is over a longer time frame –Nov 1-12.
It really helps put the size of the Chinese economy in perspective ( even if these sales have become a bit of a fad)

But there was extremely little mention of the environment. The title, “Greens,” is now a colour mismatch.

Russian cyber operatives have attacked Britain’s media, telecommunications and energy sectors over the past year, according to prepared remarks by the head of the government’s main cyber defense agency.

Ciaran Martin, chief executive of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), declined to provide any details on the attacks in a speech scheduled for Wednesday in London.

The remarks follow comments on Monday from Prime Minister Theresa May in which she accused Russia of spreading disinformation and meddling in elections…

        Obviously they’re like the English slang term Yid. They all relate to Yiddish, the German-influenced language of European Jews.

I’m getting ready to leave a library. It is exactly closing time – it has an area between two sets of main automatic doors, and I’m there – sorting myself out because getting on a pushbike is next.

Today’s farking superstar fob Chinese librarian woman informs me ‘ aaaaaah, you have to library now’.

REALLY ?? WTF does it look like I’m doing to you, you shit for brains intro phrasebook English level comprehending dumbarse fob motherfker !!

And there’s a shit ton of them just like that – all the bloody same.

Next time I’m just going to say – sorry, I no speaky da English – can you say again – I love you long time Joe, oh library close now ? But I want to stay here all night and love library for long time, wah ? Self-checkout robot for brains – sheesh – give me strength.

I see the Iranian Green lawyer MP (as she calls herself) was on the defence team of a 13 year old child who killed a person by throwing a piece of concrete off a motorway over-bridge onto a car.

Huge amount of sympathy displayed in her maiden speech towards this poor child, this victim of repression. But not one, not even an acknowledgement toward the person who was killed (because he was a white male). What a sanctimonious cow!
