    Jayda Fransen seems to be going the same way as Tommy Robinson. The establishment and the media brand them as far right extremists and the authorities hound them to the ends of the earth. But actually what Ms Fransen is doing is defending British values and the British people against what is manifestly a Muslim invasion. She is being charged for what she said about Muslims in a recent speech. Meanwhile Muslims can march with placards inciting violence and murder and nothing happens to them.
    
    Britain must defend itself or else it will be taken over by Islam. Unfortunately the leaders of Britain, including Theresa May, are hellbent on surrendering to Islam. Ms Fransen rather than being a far right extremist should more accurately be described as a patriot.

      I concede it’s true that, with DNA testing, your hero, Adolph Hitler, as a part-Jew, might have been eligible for resettlement in Israel if he hadn’t topped himself first.
      
      The facts include:
      
      … the genetic test cannot be used to revoke someone’s Jewish status – even if they were found not to have the relevant genetic markers – since only 40% of Ashkenazi Jews have them, and someone without them likely comes from the other 60% of the extended Ashkenazi Jewish family.
      
      AND
      
      … there is “no such thing as a Jewish gene … the mitochondrial genetic test simply determines ancestry, not Jewishness.
      
      I hope this doesn’t mean that TeamKea hasn’t undergone mass circumcision in vain.

        Jacksie I made no such claim. That was an article from the Jerusalem Post. You will find many more confirming Israel’s desire to identify racially pure Jews through DNA testing.

I think a lot more work needs to be done investigating Phil Quin’s advocacy and consultancy for the anti-democratic Kagame government of Rwanda.

For instance, Paul Kagame won this year’s election with 99% of the vote, and by 98% of the vote a constitutional amendment to remove a two term limit allowing him to continue to 2034.

This is Robert Mugabe territory.

He did this while having the election commission strike off any challenger but one and then arresting and charging another challenger in September. Even to Phil Quin these numbers and actions must ring alarm bells as they seem to be the result of anti-democratic conditions on the ground in Rwanda. The strong-arming of opponents must be disturbing to Phil.

Phil Quin did consult for this one party state government and one wonders whether he wants the same sort of arrangement here in New Zealand, the National Party being in charge forever.

The media hasn’t really touched on Phil Quin’s work for the Kagame government so far. I’d like to know more.

    In Phil Quin’s case he has acted directly (and probably still does indirectly) in PR consultancy for the Paul Kagame government and at one point specifically for Rwanda Police.
    
    It’s worth noting the Kagame regime and its police and military are heavily criticised for human rights abuses including the use of torture.

    Interestingly while his website does say he did consultancy work in Rwanda, it doesn’t say it was for the Rwanda police who seem to be indulging in torture. Absolute clarity of course is something he and you demand of Ghahraman.

      Also I can understand a defence lawyer going to work for criminals, as that’s the job they get paid for.
      But she volunteered. As an intern.
      Why would you volunteer to help defend someone accused of genocide?

        She was a defence lawyer, and nothing but a defence lawyer, until she went to the Cambodian tribunal. Get it straight. Called to the bar in 2005. Four years of defence work in Auckland. On the defence team for two cases in the Rwanda tribunal and one at the ICTY. Changed sides in March 2011 to be an assistant co-counsel in Cambodia, and then back to this country where she has again worked as a defence counsel. So being on a defence team is perfectly understandable. Nor is it anything to be ashamed of. Indeed, it is something to be proud of. What is wrong is covering over that history, and what that says about how she and the Green Party perceive her work. It’s an insult to her profession and a terrible indictment on how the Greens see the criminal justice system.

I see that Law Society is backing Golriz G in the work she has undertaken for the UN.
Nobody is causing a problem in that direction – what the comments say that she failed to clearly enunciate by word or CV that she was not just a Prosecuting Lawyer but also Defence Lawyer.
If she had clearly said that nobody would have been fazed – but what she and the Green Party have done is to highlight their ineptness as both they and her are guilty by omission.

When a lawyer transgresses professionally (and/or personally) the Law Society acts promptly and without hesitation or favour, no other professional body or organisation is more adept at cannabalising its constituent members.       I approached a local Law Society about a member who charged usurously on a will. They tried to fob me off by saying ‘they can charge what they like’. The CAB law help line said I may as well forget going any further because (by implication) lawyers are a law unto themselves.

        If a bill is under $2000 the Law Society doesn’t have jurisdiction as established by Parliament. There was nothing to prevent you disputing the account in the aptly named Disputes Tribunal. To state that lawyers are “a law unto themselves” is extravagant nonsense. The only persons in our country who seem to believe this and behave as such are Greens candidates and Winston Peters.

      Chris R, you know that is bullshit. If you are on the inner with the Law Society you will only be acted against if your offending is so egregious that it simply cannot be ignored – like, say, the media has information about it.
      
      Otherwise it will simply be covered up. If, however, you are at odds with the society, all bets are off and even relatively harmless behaviour will get you in trouble, as a warning to those who won’t toe the line.

I have acted for lawyers who have faced relatively minor charges and the process is rigorous, decisive and punitive.The most routine genesis for a complaint is from within the profession and does not reflect pressure from the public domain. It is a dangerous position for a lawyer to find his/herself. They risk loss of livelihood in tandem with professional and public opprobrium. The fines/costs awards dished-out are frequently eye watering.

  There should be, however, some acknowledgement of the severity of any offending. Number one on the list was one G H W Bush, who’s crime was a bit of groping from a wheelchair bound person. I agree it was completely wrong and something he should certainly have apologized profusely for, and it is OK to shame him with it. But it is not in the same league as actual physical assault and rape which is what one W J Clinton is accussed of. And, one must point out, those crimes have been covered up and defended by numerous people over many years such that Bill Clinton has yet to suffer any criminal prosecution for his alleged crimes.

According to Mayor Goff on the AM show today, environmental pollution in the city and harbour of Auckland has been building up to current unacceptable levels over 80 years and now a special tax is required for the clean up.
Didn’t hear much about that during the election campaign. Plenty of hateful insults directed at farmers though by politicians and citizens alike.
New campaign required by Fish and Game. Can we think up a few monikers to pair up with Dirty Dairying?

Water is the responsibility of Watercare, although it is a CCO, it has ability to raise funds for capital works like fixing Auckland’s storm & sewerage water systems. The requirement to fix sewerage going in the harbours does not (& should not) be funded by ratepayers, but by Watercare’s customers. As for Goody’s transport plans over 50% of the region (by area) are not served by public subsidised transport, but will continue to pay for “improvements” to the system & receive no benefits.

Winston’s secret super issue is still puzzling.

When informed of a discrepancy, Winston instantly dropped what he was doing in Wellington, flew to Auckland and met personally with officials and corrected the matter within 24 hours and in return received a letter commending his prompt co-operation. The issue was done and dusted history before a hint of it was public.

Considering Metiria’s amoral mess with her self confessed fraud, Winston was the epitome of conscientious and prompt honest action: diametrically opposite in comparison to Metiria and a considerable Election advantage to him, if only people knew about it.

So the only feasible reason in any National source leaking that the incident had actually happened, weeks after it had been fully handled, would surely have been to help Winston win votes.

When first asked about it by Newshub journalist Lloyd Burr, Winston could have said “Yes, it happened, but was instantly put right by me, over a month ago”, or, with more edge, he might have asked “Have you yet found out the exact amount or extent of Metiria’s fraud?”
But instead Winston obfuscated, then played the victim card, next the witch-hunt and finally the vendetta.

“… underhand, and it’s dirty politics. It’s probably, in my view, illegal. Utterly, utterly wrong and apparently they knew even before I knew. … It’s humbug. It’s tawdry. It’s dirty. It’s filthy, and they should not succeed on that … It’s a political party that’s been deeply exposed now. That’s all the way to the Prime Minister.”
That really screwed the goose that could have laid the golden egg.
How to look a God-send in the mouth.

Any reporter, learning of an irregularity in payments concerning a politician, would surely be failing in their job to not seek clarification.

Apart from the question “whether something had even happened at all”, the only real public information on Winston’s issue was “details” he himself volunteered to media. And he himself is vague on that actual detail, saying he only asked for totals owing and indicated a lack of itemisation, so one wonders in what form private details existed. and their accessibility for anyone to actually leak them?

Crap can happen to just anyone it seems: subsequently it is revealed that 52,525 overpayments were made in the year to June 30, 2017 – an estimated total of $32,828,125.
Winston was only one in tens of thousands.

And crap can happen to politicians:
Bill English probably still wonders who was the initial leaker of all the private information about text messages between himself and his former Clutha-Southland electorate staffer, in the months leading up to her resignation?
Again, Winston is only one of many.

  I have little doubt that the leak came from within NZF. The story broke at the height of Jacindamania, and on the weekend of National’s campaign launch. At the time, Winston was getting no media coverage, which is like oxygen to him.

James Shaw is complicit in the deception about Golriz Ghahraman. This is an extract from a speech he gave to the NZ Institute of International Affairs in the Grand Hall at Parliament on 30 May 2017:

Members of this audience may be interested to know that one of those candidates, Golriz Ghahraman, is, at number ten on the list, almost certain to
become the first Member of Parliament who started her life in New Zealand as
a refugee.

Having fled Iran in 1990 as a child, Golriz is now a human rights lawyer who worked as a prosecutor at the United Nations tribunals for Rwanda and the former Yugoslavia. She also worked on the Khmer Rouge tribunal in Cambodia.

That is a direct quote from Shaw’s speech to the NZIIA. So there are two alternatives in play here.

Either the Green Party did not do due diligence on Ms Ghahraman, and simply took it for granted that her claims were accurate, or they made a conscious decision to present a sanitised version of her CV in the run-up to the election.

Shaw must address this issue without delay, instead of hiding behind his Shield of Sanctimony, accusing others of a “political hit-job”. It is clear from the quote above that he and his party, whether knowingly or not, have been part of the deception.

I’m sure that if Stephen Joyce did not have breakfast before he was interviewed by ‘The Guy’ on Red Radio this morning he certainly had by the time he was cut off short. The problem with the pre-prepared questions is that earlier David Parker had come out and said the law change on the purchase of farms by overseas owner is purely Labour/socialist dogma and will have little or no effect on prices.
One thing that I have to praise labour for is the team they have got flooding Red Radio with Tweets and Emails supporting any policy announced. The announcers read them with delight and I’m sure glee.

Maybe if Tim “‘Tard” Cook paid more attention to his business than being a SJW cheerleader, shit like this would not happen, Apple’s “High Sierra OS (10.13.1) has a massive security hole:

Normally you’d click that to enter your user name and password, which are required to change important settings like those in Security & Privacy.

No need to do that any more! Just enter “root” instead of your user name and hit enter. After a few tries, it should log right in. There’s no need to do this yourself to verify it. Doing so creates a “root” account that others may be able to take advantage of if you don’t disable it.

Needless to say, this is incredibly, incredibly bad. Once you log in, you’ve essentially authenticated yourself as the owner of the computer. You can add administrators, change critical settings, lock out the current owner, and so on. Do not leave your Mac unattended until this is resolved.

They should have this fixed today (they bloody well better be that quick) – but it’s another sign that Apple is still running on Job’s legacy, and that’s starting to dwindle to fumes now under plonkers like Cook.

  It is fixed, and via the rarely used mandatory updates mechanism built in to MacOS. If you switch on/login to a High Sierra Mac from now on (actually about 8 am this morning) it will automatically patch this.
  
  Big mistake but at least a very prompt fix. For something this serious, they really had to respond quickly, I bet there were a few 24 hour + shifts worked by some key engineers at Apple.

I note with dismay that North Korea’s ability to launch missiles is improving both in range and accuracy. Donald Trump is rightly concerned about this. So, what does the media do, it concentrates on his dubious propensity to tweet? The media is so drenched in its hatred for Trump it ignores the genuine threats from North Korea. Why not hate Kim? I imagine he tweets too (if they have that technology in his sad country.)

    Why? For a very simple reason, the US (representing the United Nations BTW, rather than its own specific interests), IS ACTUALLY STILL AT WAR (apologies for caps; used for emphasis), with North Korea. Despite what you may believe (as evidenced by your answer), the ‘Korean War’ actually HASN’T ended, it has merely been ‘suspended’ at a point along the 49th Parallel, and the ‘border’ between the UN forces (sent in to assist the Republic of Korea [the ‘South’ or ‘South Korea’] and the Korean Democratic People’s Republic (aka ‘North Korea’) at the time both sides decided to ‘suspend’ fighting. Note however that this suspension was at the US/UN forces behest, NOT at the instigation of North Korea. This area is now known as the Demilitarized Zone or DMZ BTW. While the rest of the world and the UN may believe that everything is now ‘Peace and Light’ in the area, and that the DMZ is merely a ‘token’ symbol of the conflict, the North doesn’t hold to that view. At the time that the Armistice was declared, the North Korean dictator still believed he was going to win, and that the Armistice would give him more time to rearm and when that had happened, to return to the fray and ultimately ‘liberate’ the entire Korean peninsula.
    
    His grandson still holds to that view, and if the few media reports that come out of North Korea are to be believed, that country is still expecting the UN /USA coalition forces to invade as they pursue their plan to destroy the Democratically-elected free state of North Korea.
    
    On that basis, what we are currently-seeing makes perfect sense to those who are in charge in North Korea. They see themselves as heroes (or at least, the leaders do) and are prepared to martyr themselves (and their country; although the ‘peasants’ don’t matter very much) for the cause against the hated Yankee Imperialist Running Dogs.
    
    The line of thought that follows that premise will quite quickly see that having nuclear capable weapons will give the North at least something approaching parity with American military might, and give the valiant upholder of International Marxist-Socialist-Leninist thought and ideology a chance to at least ‘stand-up’ to the hated imperialist ‘aggressor’. It’s deluded, its irrational, but it is very, very deliberate. and, to use a Japanese analogy, it is the ‘Banzai’ strategy which prompted the JNAF / JAAF ‘Kaimakaze’ response during WWII.
    
    North Korean leaders know that they and their country would loose if it ‘goes nuclear’, but better a fireball of glory for international socialism, than a life of ‘oppression’ under the heel of the Yankee invader. That they might actually be better off should they surrender to the UN/ US forces will be something that will never occur to them, a view not helped by the distinctly north-Asian concept of ‘Loss of Face’.
    
    On that basis, nothing is going to change anytime soon, and the North Korean ‘needling’ will continue, until an exasperated US/ UN responds and gives the North Korean government the ‘blaze of glory for the cause’ previously alluded to.
    
    BTW: I would suggest that, when this happens, the North Korean President will not be in the vicinity…

        Land releases, weren’t going to ahppen. And unless the cheap money policies were reversed (which NZ cannot do in opposition to the major economies refusal to do the same), then the housing price bubble was inevitably going to continue.
        
        Asset price bubbles are the price paid for the cheap money policies implemented (theoretically) to stave off a wider recession/depression.
        
        Your major mistake Hugh is to ignore the role cheap money plays, and to acknowledge that NZ alone cannot change that policy setting without major detrimental flow affects elsewhere.
        
        In other words, the housing price bubble was effectively inevitable and unavoidable; and almost no government action would have been effective to prevent it.

I have to love a couple of my fellow train commuters. Getting on the train like they do at their nice little respectable upper middle class suburban station. Their virtue signalling and righteous indignation about the evils in society before the last election could not have been better scripted and choreographed. Now I hear they both anticipate making an absolute killing from prospective real estate sales next year. I haven’t the heart to tell them, but I might recommend a nice little chardonnay for them to take home one of these days.

James Shaw for misrepresenting Golriz Ghahraman work on the Rwanda prosecutions and Phil Quinn has apologized for calling her a genocide denier.

We now know (after many years) that the Littlewood Treaty is in the handwriting of JAMES BUSBY…the most likely choice from day one. This being an irrefutable fact, accompanied by the equally irrefutable fact that the document is clearly dated the 4th of February 1840, then, IT IS, WITHOUT QUESTION, THE FINAL ENGLISH DRAFT.

BUT HOBSON HID THIS TRUTH AND THE CLAPHAM SECT CONTINUES TO ASSIST MAORI RADICALS TODAY!

2. All of the earlier Treaty drafts, written between the 1st and 3rd of February, 1840 by Hobson, Freeman or Busby are located at the National Archives. It would have taken less than five minutes of handwriting comparisons to ascertain, or at least strongly suspect, that James Busby was the individual who had penned the Littlewood Treaty. The statement by Internal Affairs Minister, Graham Lee, that: specialists from the National Archives and elsewhere now believed they were in for “a long haul” in determining who had written the draft, on paper with an 1833 watermark. “There is no guarantee that even after an enormous amount of work that we will come up with the goods”… is absolutely impossible to believe!

GRAEME LEE IS IN LEAGUE WITH THE CLAPHAM SECT AND THE RADICALS!

3. The long sought after “lost final English draft” was handed, by Hobson, to Reverend Henry Williams at 4pm on the 4th of February, 1840. The Littlewood Treaty, in the handwriting of James Busby, is dated the 4th of February 1840. James Busby wrote the yet earlier draft, which preceded the final draft, on the 3rd of February 1840 and was acting as the “Treaty drafting secretary or scribe” throughout the final stages of completing the English version of the Treaty Of Waitangi.

4. The statements by Dr. Claudia Orange dismissing the Littlewood document on the grounds that: “It looked instead like a translation of the Maori version of the Treaty into English”… or… “The wording in English follows very closely the wording of the treaty in Maori, several copies of which were signed by most Maori chiefs around the country”…are meaningless, “red herring” statements conceived to, somehow, sow doubt related to the document’s significance. Consider the following:

The final English draft ABSOLUTELY SHOULD mirror the Maori version of the Tiriti O Waitangi sentence by sentence, as that’s what a TRANSLATION is supposed to do…and that’s EXACTLY what the Littlewood Treaty (Busby’s final draft of the 4th of February 1840) does.

Dr. Claudia Orange glosses over the date on the document, as if it doesn’t exist. HAVE ANOTHER LOOK!…THE DATE SAYS THE 4TH OF FEBRUARY 1840…THERE WAS NO “MAORI” TIRITI O WAITANGI ON THE 4TH OF FEBRUARY 1840. The Littlewood Treaty cannot possibly be a “back-translation” of the Maori Treaty version, as the Maori version did not exist until the next day. The Maori version was created from the Littlewood Treaty (Busby’s final draft).

The “official” English version being used (Busby’s preliminary draft of the 3rd of February 1840) is a radical departure away from the Maori version. They are as different as “chalk and cheese”. Please take time to carefully compare and consider several different older (1800’s) “back-translations” of the Maori text into English. You’ll be shocked to see just how radically different the so-called “official” English text is to the Maori text. There’s simply no-way the “official” English text produced the Maori one. Our government and the grievance industry are deliberately using the wrong English text in order to plunder the country. Both the true English text and the Maori text give equal rights to “ALL THE PEOPLE OF NEW ZEALAND – TANGATA KATOA O NU TIRANI”.
If the Maori text alone were used to formulate government policy, then the grievance industry would cease to exist overnight. The government and grievance industry do not want New Zealanders to know that the Maori version of the Treaty guarantees equality TO ALL THE PEOPLE OF NEW ZEALAND, as well as the Chiefs and the tribes, and offers no provision for any special “customary rights” to any singular or exclusive group. The term, “Tino rangitiratanga” or interpretations related to “taonga”, as found within the Tiriti O Waitangi, relate equally to all New Zealanders simultaneously and always have.

Jordan Williams describes himself as a former Green Party member presumably to justify a media role as commentator on them (as Phil Quin does on the Labour Party despite the fact he has played little if any part in it since he was involved in an attempt to roll Clark as leader in 1996) and he has since co-founded the Taxpayers Union.

If efficient management of government spending is his focus why join the Green Party? It was not their priority.

Should he not be forming a blue green party, if he has environment concerns, or was his objective to make the Greens, blue-greens?
