In a viral video, Sikh police officer Gagandeep Singh is seen protecting a Muslim boy from an angry mob in a town in Uttarakhand, India. The Muslim man was allegedly found in a temple with a Hindu girl.

        Try these: It’s not racist or Islamophobic to raise a matter of significant public concern” and that “we cannot ignore the race of the perpetrators, but neither can we ignore the fact that victims of sexual grooming gangs are almost always non-Muslim”.
        
        We are doing no favours to the victims and the innocent amongst us by disguising the fact that some men of the muslim faith have been carrying out sexual assaults on an unprecedented scale in the UK, and the authorities and the Labour Party have been complicit in hiding this information.

    They were doing what? Was this a ‘Romeo and Juliet’ situation or a rape of a minor, or weren’t they even having sex?
    
    Mob violence can never be the answer. A proper court hearing has to happen. How would you like to have some mob leader accuse you of something secondcumming – next moment you’re being necklaced without any chance of a hearing.

About BNZ failure on Saturday. The cause was a power failure at NAB’s (BNZ’s parent company) data centre in Melbourne. Now I thought that the Reserve Bank required NZ subsidiaries of foreign banks to be self sufficient with regard to governance (local boards), data processing etc. They should not be dependent on the parent banks for such services. This is especially as Australian banking regulations effectively give priority to Australian banking customers in the event of bank failure or other issues. In particular Westpac had to outlay a significant sum to achieve proper separation of infrastructure and services.
Therefore BNZ should not have been affected by a failure in Melbourne and the Reserve Bank and BNZ independent directors should be asking some hard questions of NAB. BNZ implores people to ‘be good’ with money – they should also ‘be good’ with their backroom services.

  Well you though wrong. Why do you think they allow overseas call centres, why do firms like facebook, twitter, google not have data centres in NZ. Make BNZ have a data centre or even a backup one in NZ and see their fees and interest rates rise.

    Ha! First time I have been called a ‘typical moaner’ here. For starters, the BNZ call centre is in Wellington. I have not heard of the NZ operations other three Aussie banks using overseas call centres.
    BNZ should already have a data centre in NZ, this is what the Reserve Bank required and it should be able to function independently of NAB’s Melbourne centre.
    Westpac had to outlay a significant sum to meet Reserve bank’s requirements some years ago. The overarching requirement is that issues with the parent bank should not bring down the NZ subsidiary. For example if an Australian Bank goes into receivership, and the receiver cuts off the NZ subsidiaries, or creditors cut off data services etc, the NZ subsidiary must be able to continue to function on a standalone basis. Saturday’s experience obviously shows that BNZ could not, so this needs to be sorted pretty smartly.
    ANZ’s NZ systems stem from the former National Bank’s systems so would be quite different from ANZ’s Australian systems.
    There is also the matter of privacy and sovereignty. If NZ banks’ customers’ data is hosted overseas then it is vulnerable to being accessed by court orders from host countries’ courts, so this is another reason the data should stay in NZ.
    As for the extra fees argument, the NZ only banks such as Kiwibank, TSB etc have competitive fees despite not having the economies of scale that the large Australian banks have.

Migrant ‘Spiderman’ who saved child praised by France’s Macron

A Malian migrant who scaled a Paris apartment bloc to save a four-year-old child was hailed Monday as an “example” by President Emmanuel Macron, who welcomed him to the presidential palace and offered him citizenship.

Two days after his daring rescue — viewed millions of times online — Mamoudou Gassama, nicknamed “Spiderman” by French media for his astonishing climbing abilities, met with Macron in the splendour of the Elysee Palace.

“You have become an example because millions of people have seen you. It is only right that the nation be grateful,” Macron told the 22-year-old, adding that his immigration status would be “put in order”.

Macron, who presented him with a medal for bravery, also offered him a job with the fire service.

    OK, I listened to 2ZB Leighton Smith after 11 this morning to see how he handled the Tommy Robinson case.
    
    A bit inaccurate here and there, but a couple of good points:
    
    1. How you feel about Tommy’s politics is irrelevant. The frightening aspects are that someone can be thrown in jail for a long sentence for reporting [in front of a sentencing, not a trial, an important point most are missing] and then a gag order placed to stop a whole nation from knowing and discussing the issues.
    
    2. Some people Leighton respects are onto the issue, including Bruce Bawer: https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/12378/tommy-robinson-injustice.
    
    This is important: Bruce is absolute not ‘far right’ (nor is Tommy). Also, Bruce Bawer is gay and has long been warning about what islamists want to do to our liberal societies.

  Women need to have 2 doctors confirm that there is “cause” for needing the abortion – the most common being that the pregnancy will negatively affect the mental health of the mother. It’s an open secret that this is a loophole to permit abortion on demand. At least it introduces some legal process to reflect the gravity of the procedure, and accord some basis (however flimsy) for ending the life of an unborn child.
  
  There are no real problems with the abortion laws in this country. The latest attempts at reform are an ideological crusade driven by radical feminism and nothing more.

    Yes I agree. I tend to avoid the topic with my friends because it tends to ruin social occasions. However to a female friend who is in the reform camp, I said “beware of unintended consequences”. Women currently have reasonably free access to abortion. It is not impossible that attempts to liberalise access, and to remove it from the Crimes Act, could lead to a more restrictive regime. Especially if MPs are given a conscious vote. Or even if some of them are, e.g New Zealand First MPs.

    If 1 in 5 pregnancies ends in abortion that tells me that family planning education and technology is not reaching an awful lot of people.
    Abortion needs to be an option of last resort, not a barbaric means of fertility management.
    There are many contraceptive techniques to be employed before abortion becomes a necessary consideration for an unwilling mother.
    Perhaps those Irish women rejoicing at their ‘achievement’ should reflect on that.

      Indeed. A friend of mine in the 80s was travelling in Ireland with her partner and could not get medical help for contraception or buy any condoms. (They had planned ahead but there was a medical problem).

Why is it I am not surprised to see a converted effort on every newspaper, and blogs making disparaging comments regarding Simon’s leadership.
This is obviously organised to reflect what they do not like that National’s support of the political scene has not dropped as was expected by them after the very poor budget.

        When the hubby and I went to work we made well above the average salary.
        
        But If you read Kiwiblog carefully, you should have come across some of my comments where I have expressed gratitude for my excellent education courtesy of the taxpayer.
        (although my old man had to shell out for 2 and half years boarding school fees when I was 9 and motherless).
        
        And I do extol the benefits of 1 week’s hospital maternity care … (now who cut that out?),
        and I did appreciate those damn good University bursaries and scholarships that paid for most of my tuition (now who decided Uni fees would be a good thing?),
        and I did appreciate all those part-time jobs I could get during the holidays ( oh dear, where did all those

  A 9% increase will put her to 71k . It is not enough to catch up with teachers (who used to be roughly on par with nurses).
  
  After 7 years, most secondary teachers are on 78k per year.

  Nursing salaries have slipped because it is predominantly female. Females are just not good at negotiating pay rises. I’ve observed this personally, men are more aggressive in negotiations (on average).

And criticism of muslim individuals or groups or organisations would also become a crime known as “disharmonious speech”. I don’t see the two polls indicating failure at all. 45% want National, better than election night. If Simon Bridges is such a disaster how come this good result? National are just not getting any coverage by msm, unless it is negative. I am pleased a large group on New Zealanders can see through the col. The only surprising thing to me is the PM getting such a big percentage. She certainly has the country sucked in, helped by the msm lapdogs fawning over everything she does. When motherhood happens it is going to get a lot worse.

  And the hardship to be felt across NZ has not kicked in yet. Increasing fuel prices, inflationary pressure, increased interest rates (and therefore mortgage squeeze) and middle NZ will wonder what has happened to the steady approach taken by the previous Government – fluttered away to interest groups, beneficiaries and personal slush funds.
  
  When the rubber hits the road, NZrs vote on the basis of “whats in it for me”, and increased living costs across the board, including greater tax take will not go down well.

… So they (the builders) buy 10 lots here, five there, depending on what deals they can get.

The net result is that in a city like Auckland, builders and subcontractors are running all over town to different jobs and they’re wasting an hour every time they do it.

To get real efficiency and to be able to build affordable houses, building companies need to be building 50 to 100 houses or more in one development.

This productivity problem is forced upon builders and we need creative solutions to address it.

We also need different types of infrastructure and new means of funding them. Councils need to consider creative, modern alternatives that reduce costs.

We are already hearing of Infrastructure Investment bonds and there are numerous examples of efficient stand-alone wastewater systems overseas that could help cut across our preoccupation with pumping waste long distances to centralised plants.

Building companies have already seen the benefits of government bodies freeing up land and easing restrictions.

Developers are responding to the market’s need for affordable housing. A few years ago, the trend was to build mostly high-value homes in new subdivisions: big houses, big sections and strict covenants.

Now we’re seeing plans for more high-density developments and smaller houses targeting the affordable housing market.

If we can attack the infrastructure problem, we can make the most of the increased supply of land and speedy building consents.

If you take out that problem, it goes a long way to addressing the big issue in New Zealand: availability of capital and increasing the supply of affordable housing.

Take that risk away, and let builders build.

  Well Poppa few would disagree with erring on the side of safety but we might expect he will work to moving the goal posts on this one. Sadly only time will tell if the latest “expert” opinion is correct though they can not replicate the effects of extended exposure to the lowest levels not causing health issues. Money taken – up to $500 for a driving licence and up to $2500 for a truck driving licence – was passed on to corrupt instructors.

What is the AA up to these days, any way? Once it was a champion of motorists v. oil companies over fuel prices, but today it’s running its own fuel-discount scheme.

    The State Insurance, or whatever they are these days offer the same.
    It is certainly not a monopoly.

Final findings will be early 2020 which places the outcome very conveniently to be some sort of election platform. Remembering how they promised substantial funding increases for health before the election but the Fudget barely marked time for that worn out excuse. There’s a short news item in today’s Northern Advocate which informs us of a local brewery enjoying a win in a beer & cider awards competition. Apparently this American (or hoppy) porter is “well balanced” which I guess is a good thing to have in a beer since some of them tip over easily. But the bullshit doesn’t stop there:

Here is the information that the British media are prohibited from publishing: quote.

On Friday, Tommy was reporting from outside the court house in Leeds, where an accused Muslim rape gang was on trial for repeatedly raping British girls as young as eleven years old. Tommy was broadcasting on Facebook, from his cell phone.

Tommy was very careful:

He did not set foot on the court precinct.
He did not call the men “rapists”, but rather called them “accused rapists”.
In no way did he interfere with the trial, which was on its final day.
When Tommy mentioned the names of the accused rapists, he was reading from a BBC website — so the names were clearly public information, on the state broadcaster.
Tommy did nothing wrong.
But suddenly, seven police officers swarmed Tommy and threw him in the back of a police van. You can watch that shocking footage here:

They said he was causing a disturbance, which is absurd — he was by himself on the street, with only a cameraman and a friend.

But it got worse. Much worse.

Within hours, Tommy was summoned before the judge. Tommy’s long-time lawyer was not informed of this. Rather, the court appointed a lawyer who didn’t know Tommy and wasn’t an expert in the specialized law of contempt of court.

In a matter of minutes, Tommy was sent to prison — with a 13-month sentence. He is now in HM Prison Hull, a brutal facility near Leeds.

A 13-month prison sentence for Tommy is tantamount to a death sentence — every Muslim criminal in prison will be trying to murder him. They’ve tried before.

The only alternative is for Tommy to request to be put into solitary confinement — but no-one can live that way, locked up without any human contact for 23 hours a day. Not for a year straight.

Tommy worked for us at The Rebel until this spring — we got him started in journalism, and we parted ways amicably when Tommy went independent.

And we still support him.

The day he was arrested, I spoke with Tommy’s wife and his lawyer, and offered to help in any way.

Last year, when Tommy worked for us, he was arrested outside of the court in Canterbury. Back then, we crowdfunded a top-notch legal team, and we were able to keep Tommy out of prison.

I offered to help again, and Tommy’s family and lawyer were grateful, but they have asked that we hold off doing anything (including crowdfunding) until they can have a proper conversation with Tommy.

Obviously we will respect the wishes of Tommy’s family and lawyer.

But there is something else very important that we can do, on our own: we can go to court to have the gag order lifted from the media.

The basic facts […] what Tommy was doing and what he didn’t do; the shocking speed with which he was imprisoned; the fact that his own lawyer was not notified; the fact that Tommy has not had a proper chance to meet with his lawyer — are banned in the UK.

Not just the underlying facts of the rape gang trial — but the whole incident involving Tommy.

The judge who sent Tommy to jail, made it illegal to report that he sent Tommy to jail.

Why?

Why did the judge keep his justice secret?

Shouldn’t the British people be able to learn the facts, and decide for themselves?

Why can people in Canada and the U.S. and Australia and Europe read all the facts — but not British citizens?

So we’re going to court, to apply to have this gag order lifted.

The Rebel is based in Canada, but we also have a registered UK corporation, with more than 100,000 UK customers, and a UK staff. So our UK company has legal standing to go to court on behalf of the British people.

We have hired an outstanding lawyer who has worked with Tommy before — Daniel Berke, the lawyer who took the case of Chelsey Wright, the girl from Sunderland who suffered so brutally at the hands of a predator.

I have spoken with Daniel, and he believes this is an important case, and he is already working on the emergency application.

It’s shocking that it falls to us — a small, independent, Internet-based news company — to fight for freedom of the press and open courts in the United Kingdom.

Where is the BBC, or Sky, or any of the tabloids that so love to skewer Tommy when it suits them?

Where are the organizations like Amnesty International or Reporters Without Borders, coming to the aid of a citizen journalist who was arrested and sentenced faster than in any dictatorship?

I guess it falls to us.

Because Tommy’s legal case isn’t just about him. It’s about all of us — and our freedom to have honest, public conversations about the threat of mass Muslim migration, gang rapes, and the Islamification of the west.

I say “male,” because I’m using the traditional sense of the word… meaning the person has a penis. He is under the impression that he’s a female, because he identifies as such.

The thing that concerns me most about the whole Tommy Robinson thing (apart from his personal welfare,) is what it says about our societies and what we are becoming. Are we acting in a way that preserves the common good, or increasingly are the lower (under-) class simply seen as objects to be policed for the sake of our ‘betters’.

Some online commentators have said we are nations of laws. In a sense this is true, but it is not in my view the whole picture. It is right here that we live in a society of laws, and no one should be exempt from their application. BUT we must not lose sight of the underlying purpose of the law, which is to bring forth justice and righteousness. If the Law does not do this it becomes simply another tool of oppression that is used to enslave and subjugate a free people.

The danger here is that if people do not truly believe that the State is motivated to protect them and promote their safety and well-being they will no longer see a valid reason to uphold the State. Then comes violence; whether a revolution or a repeat of troubles like Northern Ireland witnessed. And I think the case can be made by many that in the UK’s inner cities that they no longer have any foundational belief that the ‘System’ is there for their welfare.

Our political masters need to think carefully about this if the peace is to be preserved. And don’t take what I say as a threat. Far from it. I just think history warns us that this is the case.

    The clarity & the merit of the justice are two different items that need to be considered separately. ie
    
    1) The fact that such draconian suppression could be put into place in total blackout secrecy is a travesty of the Western justice system.
    
    2) Tommy Robinson’s treatment by the police & his sentence via the judiciary is beyond all reason or proportion. He was one man making guarded comments to a cellphone outside a Courthouse. He was engaged in much needed political protest over a worrying issue. He was not a threat.

I feel for the parents of the 12 Year old girl who was killed in the crash. I feel nothing for the driver, one less criminal for us to have to deal with. I have no time for the way this is reported as a Police Pursuit Death. It was a criminal fleeing arrest. Stupid Little Girl made this statement: On Tuesday, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said there had been changes recently for police-chase protocols, “but I think it is high time we took another look at these again”. How about its high time criminals stopped trying to flee from the police.
