So now Whaleoil is attacking hard working National MP Chris Bishop because he called out Winston on his racist comments. Never mind that through dint of hard work he saw off Trevor Mallard as Hutt South MP. Perhaps Whaleoil has visions that in 2020 (or earlier) Winston will turn against Labour/Greens and instead choose National.

        Hes marking off the days – over a year ? -since his court case with Colin Craig ended and wondering what the judge is up to ?
        Silly moo doesnt get it, its the Courts way to say FO or as one judge in Australia once put it, ‘your judgement will go to the bottom of the pile to be written.’
        The Slaters dont understand court processes either wondering why the judge didnt have a a few days after the case to ‘ gather their thoughts while the case is still fresh’.
        Silly Moos dont realise everyword is transcribed and the judges refer to the transcript and dont ‘try to remember ‘ at all.

        AFAIK he does not now take meds and had regretted taking them, even though they were properly prescribed. He was obliged to take them as a condition of payouts on his loss of earnings insurance even though he considered them unhelpful. In fairness to Cam he has made a very good job of putting his life back together after suffering a major setback some years ago. His wife ‘Spanish Bride’ is amazing – she has stayed loyal and has been extremely supportive.

    I am no Judith fan, however she is turning up at the West coast for this.
    Good Morning.
    
    This Sunday the 22nd of July will see Coasters protest about the decree from Minister Sage that there will be no more mining on conservation estate. (This includes stewardship land)
    
    The impact will be huge and Coasters are asked to attend the opening of the Taramakau Bridge, and celebrate the completion of the bridge by Fulton Hogan under time and under budget.
    
    The truck protest leaves Greymouth at 11am and will return to Greymouth by 12pm.
    
    The bridge opening is at 2.15pm at the northern end of the bridge.
    
    After the official walk across the bridge those that want to express their views and support industry will wear high-vis-vests and assemble to hear the speakers.
    
    If you are a red neck and want to make trouble STAY AT HOME.
    
    This is Coasters sending a message to Wellington and is the first of four planned.

  I received a letter from Chris Bishop last night explaining his position. I replied to him saying I think he is a good guy but his time would be better employed exposing the utter economic mess the Lab/Green/NZ1st fools are dragging us all into. Chris Bishop is a hard worker and is amiable but the diversity debate can await the defeat of the Coalition of Losers.

  Bishop first put his hat in the ring for nomination once the boundary changes moved Hutt South over to the Ngaruanga Gorge in Ohariu territory leaving behind labour areas in the Hutt like Naenae.
  Now hes NZs first ‘middle age adjacent’ MP who likes to think hes hip and cool when he would have worn a jacket when he was a student and instead of having a real world summer holidays job like Judith Collins did at Farmers shoe department he was ‘interning’ at Russel McVeagh and Crown Law

In the heat of the election campaign, under-fire Prime Minister Bill English put experts to work on how to solve the problem of taxing water for export.’

English asked a group of independent technical experts for advice on who would charge for water and what they could charge. They were asked to report back in November – kicking the contentious issue into the long grass until after the election.

But now Stuff can reveal no report was ever written – despite the consultants being paid more than $500-a-day for their time’

Ahh Bill from the Tax Working group after the 2008 election to the Water tax working group just weeks before the 2017 one.

      he put about $7-9 bill of taxpayers money into it – but national stopped contributions- and now its worth over $40 bill for the taxpayers
      
      Oh and they paid down the debt during their 9 years.
      English ramped up government debt to over $80 bill in his 9 years, even in the last 3 years adding another $20 bill to the pile.
      never made an effort to pay down the borrowing was thinking of tax cuts in a boom !!

        canterbury quake was a hit of about $ 9 bill only and most of that was clawed back by rebuilds and insurance payouts GST payments.
        What about last 3 years , why was $6-7 bill still being borrowed like last year and why wasnt $5-6 bill being used to pay down debt each year like Cullen was doing in good years.

    Yup, about $62.50 an hour for an 8 hour day. Not a hell of a lot for a consultant worth his salt.
    
    Also if the report was due in November, surely the onus was on the incoming government to collect it, not the National Party? If the report hasn’t been delivered then Liebour is at fault for not following up, since these working groups are at a government level, not at a party level.

Is the side-door of Ecuador’s Embassy about to hit Wikileak’s founder Julian Assange in the arse?

The BBC are reporting there are growing signs that Ecuador’s President Lenin Moreno is preparing to evict Assange and turn him over to the British Police.

Ahead of his visit to the UK next month, President Moreno has confirmed he is in negotiations with the British Government to finally ‘resolve’ the fate of Assange, who he has described as a ‘problem’…and ‘like a stone in the shoe’.

It appears under the Moreno government, Assange is no longer welcome in Ecuador.

However, what puzzles me is how Trey Gowdy has apparently, and quite suddenly, become a Mueller supporter, a very peculiar change of stance from an individual who was at one time very definitely in the Pro-Trump / Anti Mueller camp and made no bones about his Trump support.
      
      I would not have considered him to be a RINO, but as a result of his support for Mueller, have come to the conclusion that in fact he may be of that ilk.

        I’m pretty sure his views on Mueller are probably unchanged. What is obvious is that Mueller rightly removed Strzok from the investigations (albeit way too late) and that brought about Gowdy’s praise. It also gave the godhead for Gowdy and congress to delve further into the bias and the nature of the TXT messages. Interestingly, Mueller sighted optics rather than blatant bias as the reason for removing Strzok. I don’t blame the republicans for going all in on Strzok regardless of his protestations that it was only his opinion. It goes to the heart of the FBI’s supposed non bias approach to investigations.
        
        The Dem’s approach is weak in that any discussions could compromise any on-going investigation..a moot point IMO because the investigations were already compromised by Strzok from the get go. They bring this up time and again and the Chairman rightly tells them to shove it as those rules go out the window when in front of congress hence the reason for the interview. Gowdy had however made similar claims so does not hold a position of consistency on this matter but does, never the less, have control of the present argument.

This Sunday the 22nd of July will see Coasters protest about the decree from Minister Sage that there will be no more mining on conservation estate. (This includes stewardship land)
The impact will be huge and Coasters are asked to attend the opening of the Taramakau Bridge, and celebrate the completion of the bridge by Fulton Hogan under time and under budget.
The truck protest leaves Greymouth at 11am and will return to Greymouth by 12pm.
The bridge opening is at 2.15pm at the northern end of the bridge.
After the official walk across the bridge those that want to express their views and support industry will wear high-vis-vests and assemble to hear the speakers.

Conrad Black writes about why Trump is right about trying to improve relations with Russia. This seems like a good goal as far as many of us are concerned. Why should Trump not want to improve American relations with Russia and avoid another Cold War?

Trump / Putin is fascinating. Especially given the context of Trump baring his buttocks to the E.U. and effectively advising the U.K. they have a mong for a PM on the same trip.

What the hell is going on I have no idea and neither do you and neither does Winston Peters.

But I keep wondering whether this is all about China, as China is what Trump’s presidency is all about.

Could it be Trump is actually using Putin as opposed to the other way around? Raybon Kan a comedian on Jim Mora’s The Panel said yesterday Trump is Putin’s bitch, I can’t believe that.

Russia is nothing, it’s a broke-ass large freezer full of alcoholics.

Maybe Trump is simply grooming Putin and Kim Jong Un to isolate China and maybe even Iran into the deal. Doesn’t hurt to give the EU its oats as well they have needed a good slap for decades now.

I have to admit the two gentlemen who like chicks and beer and doing men stuff looked exactly like a person who has an amazing hand in poker.

  Meanwhile 2 of the 4 most senior party members have resigned their posts. And its telling what sort of a person she is when she adjourns parliament early, basically suspends parliament to derail attempts to oust her. And now she is threatening her party and saying that as prime minister legally she can call an election faster than they can remove her from office, so she will call a snap election…
  
  Infact twice as many people 40% of all people would rather a no-deal hard brexit as opposed to her ‘deal’ than think she should continue as PM (20%) and that 60% that think otherwise is comprised mainly of hardline Remoaners.   What did Russia actually get out of the meeting? Nothing really. Everything is still against them, behind the scenes Putin was actually trying to get Trump to let US companies invest in Russia. What is bad for Russia is that Trump, who was willing to be friendly, came away burned and will likely be less cordial in future, which is again bad for Russia.

Which brings me to what happened Monday in Helsinki.

Once again, and this time with the help of that dirty cop, Special Counsel Robert Mueller, the establishment media and the Deep State believed they had rigged events to a point where Trump was cornered, where he would have no choice but to publicly berate Putin on the national stage for the sin of “interfering in our elections.”

What the media wanted was to emotionally blackmail Trump into creating an international scene, a YouTube moment with Putin, where the president would violate every diplomatic norm to publicly shame and berate the Russian president.

Why do you think Dirty Cop Mueller dropped his kangaroo indictment (more on this below) just a few days before the Putin summit? It was all coordinated and staged, it was the behavior of spoiled children desperate to get their way.

Wisely, for the good of his country and out respect for the truth, Trump refused to jump in the trap. And now the spoiled children who once again did not get what they want, are having a national tantrum. And moral cowards, like House Speaker Paul Ryan (God bless Rand Paul), are terrified of these spoiled media babies and are seeking only to appease them.

Nevertheless, what really happened is this: Trump showed the gangster Putin that he is his own man, that he cannot be bullied by America’s corrupt political and media establishment into behaving in a certain way, that he is willing to take those flaming arrows to do what he thinks is right, which, in this case, is to never forget the lessons of Iraq.

Keep in mind that what Trump was supposed to do Monday was to drink the Kool-Aid, was to believe our Intelligence Community (IC) got it 100 percent right about Russian meddling, was to throw diplomacy out the window and publicly embarrass Putin.

Thankfully, Trump refused to do that, and now the spoiled children, just as they did after Charlottesville, are again lying and claiming Trump “sided with Putin,” when the only thing Trump’s guilty of is remaining diplomatic, which is the whole point of a summit expressly arranged to facilitate peace.

What is so incredible is that, in this the year 2018, after the intelligence catastrophe that was Iraq, after learning the IC was actively meddling in the 2016 election using Kremlin-fed propaganda in the form of a dossier, only a crazy man would swallow whole what the IC is telling him, and only a dangerously weak man would risk damaging relations with Russia further in order to symbolically appease the IC.

    A clown also gets the EUs automobile industry to get the EU to go to trump and to tell trump they want to do a deal and to please not put tarrifs on one of their only real industries. We will see how the trade negotiations go when there are 25% tarrifs on all EU and Chinese goods. We will also see how smug trudeau is after he gets his 25% tarrifs.
    
    You know I think most countries really under-appreciate their trade with the US. Hopefully NZ will get some big tarrifs too, because we are protecting our materials industry, our agricultural industry, meat that is corn-feed in the states is as low as 1/3rd the prices we pay, we have some of the highest food prices in the world, we pay 30% more for our construction materials than Aus. If we could get our trade barriers knocked down it would be really good for the average man in this country!
    
    I suspect there will be major, major economic recession in both of those two countries, and billions of dollars come pouring back into the US building factories all across the rustbelt! They will probably neede to bring in some sort of a temporary work visa programme to find people to work in all these new factories!
    
    I think we could be entering a new age of american exceptionalism! And we could look back and think, why on earth did we think china was ever going to surpass america!

        Well 50% of the chinese economy is housing starts, re-exports and outright fraud. Strip that away and economically they are more comparable to the true economic output of Japan or India and similar to what france or germany or the uk would have with full employment.
        
        The problem is the housing they are building isn’t built for people to live in, it is built as an investment, therefore the area is bad, the quality is low, people aren’t living in them, most of it is vacant, and wont last. The problem with that is that eventually people will realize that all this vaccant realestate (entire cities worth) is inherintly worthless people will go delinquint on their loans and default.
        
        The result will be a massive housing bubble, much larger than that of the US economies. Some reports say 60 million in 2016 vs 9 million in the US, but over half of all property sales in China go vaccant, we are probably talking well in excess of 100 million apartment foreclosures. And they have no resale value as they are built largely in sattelite cities, so workers have to commute great distances.
        
        Realistically if trump goes ahead and puts a 25% tax on 500bn of chinese exports to the US, and puts his revenue tax on all us firms goods produced in china, then it won’t be worth it for US companies (or any other countries companies that want to export to US) to produce in china, they might not move back to the us, but they will move somewhere. And doing this will pull the rug out from under chinas housing ponzi scheme. Overnight that is most of their economy gone.
        
        This would be the largest, sharpest economic recession for centuries! The economy would collapse, capital flight would kick in, the communist party would probably get overthrown and china itself would break up into many pieces like the soviet union did. The US would default on its debt to China and Trump would be imortalized as the greatest president in the history of america.

This article is the product of research originally conducted for a recent article titled “Jews, Obscenity, and the Legal System.” Given the significant amount of material discovered and the uniqueness of the subject matter, I decided there was enough material for an article devoted to children’s literature. During research for the obscenity essay, I consulted the American Library Association’s list of “Top 100 Banned/Challenged Books: 2000–2009” with a view to assessing the nature and extent of the Jewish presence. The first fact to become apparent was a marked Jewish over-representation in the production of books deemed controversial or perverse by parents, schools, and other institutions. Jews are notoriously shy of the census, but are probably somewhere between the 2.2% of the U.S. population suggested by the Pew Research Center and a maximum of around 5%. Even accepting a grain of truth in the apologetic argument that Jews are disproportionately attracted to literary professions (to say nothing about motive), one might very generously expect a Jewish representation of around 10 books on the ALA’s list.

However, my biographical checks on all authors on the list, some of which were indeterminate, revealed that 22 books on the ALA’s list were penned by 17 Jewish writers. Jews are thus significantly over-represented in producing contemporary literature deemed oppositional by the surrounding culture, and are even more radically over-represented when older, White-authored, entries such as The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (now often opposed as ‘racist’) are taken out of consideration. Since the majority of entries on the list were children’s books, and taking into account my previous discoveries concerning Jewish manipulation of demand for ‘diverse books’ in the school system, it occurred to me that children’s literature is an important, but sometimes neglected, front in the cultural conflict we see played out daily.

This article is therefore intended as a brief introduction to some of the most pertinent personalities and themes in the area of Jewish Leftist activism in children’s fiction.

This morning I looked at the Twitter feed and there seemed to be an endless & tiresome stream of opinions on whatever Trump is up to, both for & against.
Amongst all this weighty procrastination it was poignant to hear that the first boys to be rescued from the Chiangrai cave thought they would just bike home to their families to get food organised for when their mates got home.
It’s a pity all of life couldn’t be that simple.

  Those very high internet speeds are only available on expensive special dedicated high cost lines. You cannot walk into almost anywhere and expect internet access is available to your device at 23MB/sec. The internet is a distributed highway with nodes like water pipes. Traffic is connected from larger pipes to lesser ones and smaller ones again likewise. At the desktop level the higher speeds are overkill for normal workflows. Also the connections are not usually straight through. The system gets through but does not promise what interconnections it will make. What was 9Mb/sec at 10am may be 2MB/sec at 10:03.

    I’m sure they did, but just shows that there was more to the story than media reported, that Unsworth started with the unecessary and undeserved personal insults – which I didn’t see reported, and that after being asked to help Elon appears to have gone massively out of his way committing time, money and staff to assist, and was very respectful of and praised efforts by those on site. He didn’t act like an egomaniac – which is what clickbait media tried to sell.

  To get off fossil fuels and provide enough power for an all-electric vehicle car fleet we need something like 8GW of new PV and wind, probably mostly PV, + a whole lot of upgrading of dams and grid to enable stored water to flow through dams at higher rates to act as the ‘battery’ for when the sun/wind aren’t working.
  
  That would probably cost $20-30Billion to do.
  
  But consider that electricity in this country sells for something like $5billion per year, it is something that we can afford to do over next 20 years if we really want to.
  
  As for car costs: Latest tear down of Tesla Model 3 suggests about US$28k to build (including batteries), about US$18k materials. If you got a big car company like VAG or Toyota to do it it would be a lot cheaper. And batteries are estimated to be down to <US$100/kWh in next 2 years ($10k for a 500km range battery pack). That is pretty similar cost to a New Toyota Camry so it will be economic to transition in another 10-20 years.

Looks like the government initiative of installing security devices in neighbourhood dairies to deter large, violent thugs has been fulfilled with discounted priced fog cannons? The Peachgrove Dairy in Hamilton was hit for the 2nd time recently, scaring the Chinese husband and wife. The fog cannon took too long to respond, allowing the thieves time to continue robbing the dairy before escaping with the stolen goods.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has called on the Pope to “sack” Adelaide’s Archbishop Philip Wilson.

Wilson was convicted of covering up abuse by priest Jim Fletcher in the NSW Hunter region in the 1970s, making him the most senior Catholic in the world to be convicted of concealing sexual abuse. He was sentenced to 12 months’ detention, eligible for parole after six months, but has said he will lodge an appeal against his conviction.

The Archbishop has refused to quit his post, and Mr Turnbull has previously said Wilson should resign — a call echoed by Opposition Leader Bill Shorten and South Australian Premier Steven Marshall.

Today the Prime Minister intensified the pressure on the Catholic Church by saying “the time has come for the Pope to sack him”.

I wonder how the Pope will respond to this development? According to the president of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference Archbishop: “Only the Pope can compel a bishop to resign.”
