Morse tells us that ‘tanga te whenua, people of colour, muslims . . . ‘ Morse has implied that it is the ‘people of colour’ v’s people not of colour, us whitey boys. Is this racist?

Morse goes on to accuse Southern of sailing out into the Med to gun down refugees (something like that). Sounds like Morse is defaming Southern.

Espiner allows Stephen Franks ‘final’ word to be interrupted by shouty spitty Morse; the way the altleft shut down all debate, shouty and abusive.

Anyone else in for a hundy to finish Morse and her filth of a sham organisation?

      Morse is not just left wing she is a dangerous risk to New Zealand. Her views are very extreme as noted in the “interview” posted by Paulus. She lied about Southern when she said “Southern is going on boats to go and shoot at medical rescue boats” this is exactly the type of lie that would incite violence. She has the ear of the council, the Prime Minister and likely most if not all the Green Party. Having now given this extremist a platform and backing, what does she have up her sleeve next? I implore the New Zealand SIS to look into this woman far more closely. The Police failed to nail her properly in the Urawera raids, it’s about time she was put under more scrutiny. The festering underclass the she is fomenting will have been emboldened by her latest stunt. Act now or deal with flying ball bearings at public gatherings.

        Southern worked with the Italian and Greek govts to provide proof that charities and people smugglers were working together to ship so-called refugees, that were actually economic refugees, into the west. I’ve been searching the international media especially The Guardian & BBC in the UK for articles on how former Prime Minister of NZ and UN #2 Helen Clark helped shut down a concert to raise money for infants in 3rd World Countries.

I would have thought that was a truly extraordinary story but I can’t find a damn thing.

Nor anything that mentions Youth Adjacent Messiah PM / DJ Jacinda Ardern who is in full agreement.

According to Helen Clark last night (interviewed on Radio Live) it sets a Dangerous Precedent.

Danger as in a minor inconvenience, or actual danger, the sort that threatens lives?

Disgusting.

  Now later in life the former “revolutionary” wants a comfortable, drama free existence, meaning that no concerts be held in her neighborhood (to save babies lives FFS)! In other words, NO WAY should there be “change” (despite being someone who pushed and pushed for “change” over the decades)!

  You have to set aside distaste for HC and her politics from her rights as citizen living in her neighbourhood.
  
  I once lived near Western Springs and the events there caused nusiance for K’s around–both traffic and noise. Re-purposing Eden Park surely requires prior community approval. No children were really put at risk as Mt Smart is still available for major concerts.

I find it amusing that those people tying themselves in knots about the impending visit by Lauren Southern and Stefan Molyneux, seem to be unaware of next months Auckland debate featuring Douglas Murray. Check him out on Youtube if you haven’t heard of him, he’s brilliant. Murray is one of UK’s leading conservative commentators and a fierce critic of islam, he is an intellectual juggernaut compared to Southern and Molyneux, without any of the alt-right baggage or unnecessary theatrics.

Anyway in other news I never thought I’d see, the Worst Government Ever has decided to lump employers with yet more costs. Now we have:

4 Weeks of paid annual leave
1 week of statutory holiday leave
1 week of sick leave
And now –
Two weeks of ‘my partner bashed me but I can’t show you the scars as they are under my blouse’ leave. Apparently you don’t even need proof the abuse happened.

Forget ACC, Kiwi Saver, Maternity etc that’s two months’ productivity an employer has to find somewhere else.

Know what that is? It’s a recipe for not employing the women who would have needed that job.

Own goal ladies. Should have looked beyond Jacinda’s ‘Concerned Face’ TM & gender.

  As am employer with staff who have been the victims of domestic violence, I have mixed feelings on this. On the rare occasions we have had to deal with it, we took a very compassionate approach, as I would expect most employers to do.
  
  I understand the sentiment behind the law, and I can understand that some women are reluctant to admit that they have become punching bags for their partners. On the other hand, the employer normally has a pretty good sense about when someone is not functioning. Whilst this will be a potential extra expense for any employer with a large number of female staff, I am sure that most will be able to absorb it somehow, if it leads to a good outcome for the victim.

  Kerre is a doting grandmother and I find her endless wittering on about her grandchildren tedious in the extreme- And this week we had a run down of her latest vacation in France en famille, and the French real estate market – well would have, but I couldn’t stand more than 5 minutes.

  It will be interesting to see how government agencies respond to the directive. If the objective is that ‘average remuneration of men and women is equal’ there are different ways to achieve that.
  
  1. Employ more women in senior roles. My impression is that government agencies have been doing this for the last 20 years. So there are now far more women in senior roles. This trend is likely to continue for the next decade as highly skilled women move upwards.
  
  The problem is that if the Government says ‘do it now’ employers will employ women who are not the best candidates.
  
  2. The second way to achieve ‘equal pay’ is to employ more men in junior, lower paid positions. So for example “personal assistants” who used to be called secretaries are still predominantly women. So replace them with men only. Not sure how that would go down.
  
  As you say the ‘equal pay’ descriptor is misleading.
  
  I suppose a third way to achieve the directive would be to restrict all pay increases for the next five years to women only.
  
  It will be interesting to see how this plays out. If the directive is couched literally in average pay for men and women must be the same, I don’t see how that can be achieved in 12 months without some perverse results. If the target is over 5 years it might be more achievable.
  
  A perverse outcome would be to deny women access to part time flexible roles that they want because that will stop an agency from achieving the equal pay directive.

Tenant advocates want letting (and other) fees abolished. Letting fees quite likely to go as it was Labour policy.

Some property managers are already preparing. Other fees are and probably still will be permitted. These may not have been recovered at all or fully in the past, but they will be going forward.

I expect there will be a few applications for costs to the Tenancy Tribunal, and if lawful and justified they will have to be awarded.

If property owners have to pay the letting fee, guess who actually pays it. So a slice gets added to the rent, maybe not a lot but probably enough to cover the cost in a year, and this becomes the new normal.

Tenants who stay longer are quietly lining the landlord’s pocket. Thanks Labour.

    Thousands of people were killed with no accountability.
    Black lists were drawn up. Your name might appear on a list and you wouldn’t know how it got there.
    Very quickly it transpired that a very large proportion of those killed had nothing to do with drugs, but were as the result of personal vendettas.
    Still more were killed as a means to eliminate competition.
    No killings were ever investigated.
    I was living in Bangkok at the time and read all this in the newspapers. No secret about it.

Apparently he has no problem with his party reversing these stats.

  It must have been a very big goat. When my son’s goat gets off its lead I can drag it back and tie it up. My son’s house is next to mine. The goat the cop tasered may have been a lot bigger but the cop would have been younger and fitter than me. I believe there was also an animal control officer there as well.

I am hearing stories that key government departments are running a campaign of man shaming and indoctrinating women to believe they are victims of domestic violence.

They are also aggressively promoting gay, trans rights in the work place recently – with white hetro males once again cast as the bad guys, and the queers as victims.

Is this a preliminary to rewarding women with 2 weeks paid leave if they falsely accuse a man of something? I wonder…???

  So it’s very unsurprising the progressives are doing the same thing in NZ, given what they inherited. Its purely a way, as I keep saying and no one believes me, to filter out potential opposition.
  
  Protected attribute theory is poisonous. Not just for the individuals discriminated against. For institutional integrity and performance of purpose.
  
  The Daniel Andrews government mutate everything into identity ideology. I could do that easily. But it means the actual problems, and the social problems in Victoria are immense, get left to worsen.
  
  Just remember, all social democrats do is instrumentalise their victims they patronise to push ideology. They don’t care about people. They don’t like people.   While I haven’t seen any specific evidence of what you write (and I work at one of the large Govt depts, although by choice not for much longer), it is clear that around me men are being marginalised and a slow and steady takeover by women is going on.
  Which is why I find the whole concept of a quota for the public service a joke – it is already heavily weighted in favour of women.
  Maybe its a case that sensible men, like me, know when enough is enough and we get out while the getting out is good!

    The value of all of the economic activity that might have happened if not for the RMA is truly massive. Not just the activity that is prohibited, also the activity that is allowed but is not worth doing due to the cost and delay of jumping through all the hoops .

      Many moons ago I developed some hydrophones as a joint project with a Norwegian Uni.
      When they went out to check the sites and gather the recordings (in the Arctic Circle) they always travelled in pairs as a minimum
      One carried and checked the gear, the other had the AUTOMATIC shotgun to ward off (or kill if needs be) the polar bears. The one with the gun sole job was to keep an intense eye out for them.

But never ever let Marquess or any other snide vacuous regurgitating lemm say that speech suppression isn’t taking place. Not only is it being outlawed literally. Its being suppressed quietly as well. Conservatives have to make their own platforms which are dispersed and P2P. And they also have to build organisations and run protected attribute theory with themselves as the protected attribute instead of the inverse.

Some of those alternative health pages were really cool. NZ should set itself up as a free speech reserve as well as a nature reserve for comparative advantage. We should become like the Seychelles islands of speech where organisations can base themselves and be untouched by the NWO war on speech. Our economy and our civil society would win alike.

But I hope the Kristallnacht of alternative health pages makes Marquess and co understand that speech suppression can hurt their domains too.

Using an 1869–82 base period and a 2007–16 final period, which are well matched for volcanic activity and influence from internal variability, medians are derived for ECS of 1.50 K (5%–95% range: 1.05–2.45 K) and for TCR of 1.20 K (5%–95% range: 0.9–1.7 K). These estimates both have much lower upper bounds than those from a predecessor study using AR5 data ending in 2011. Using infilled, globally complete temperature data give slightly higher estimates: a median of 1.66 K for ECS (5%–95% range: 1.15–2.7 K) and 1.33 K for TCR (5%–95% range: 1.0–1.9 K). These ECS estimates reflect climate feedbacks over the historical period, assumed to be time invariant. Canada bans Christianity from the classroom –

Canada’s Supreme Court has banned Christian schools and colleges from teaching Biblical values because the Bible does not support the Trudeau government’s vision of “diversity” and is therefore “harmful” to LGBT and Muslim students.

Instead, Canada’s schools have been encouraged to adopt Common Core values such as ordering children as young as six to question their sexual orientation and gender identity, while teaching them how to use a range of vegetables as sex toys, and promoting anal sex as “normal”.

Christian colleges and universities will be stripped of their accreditation if they continue to promote Biblical standards and values. In other words, the highest Canadian court has ruled that Christianity and education are incompatible.

Here’s a brief summary of the case for those who are not familiar with it. Trinity Western is a Christian university that requires its students and faculty to live by basic Christian standards.

Unfortunately, when TWU sought to open its law school, it fell afoul of Canada’s LGBT activists and their allies. They argued that TWU was discriminating against LGBT students, because of which students graduating with a bona fide law degree should not be allowed to practice law in Canada.

There was a ray of hope for TWU when a regional court ruled in its favor. But now, “In a pair of 7-2 rulings, the majority of justices found the law societies of British Columbia and Ontario have the power to refuse accreditation based on Trinity Western University’s so-called community covenant.”

  Just read it. The article raises the fact that many prominent women who achieved greatness in their fields were overlooked or relegated at the time, and a project to give due recognition to them.
  
  Which is fair enough, but as you say the headline is a shocker. Just imagine if instead it read “Black Men of History, Stand Back”.
  
  It is yet another way of getting in a sly dig at white men.
  
  I notice it is written by Michelle Duff, who a week or so ago wrote an article entitled “Stop Mansplaining #MeToo”, where she basically tells men how they should behave and act, and then goes on to say how she doesn’t want men telling her how she should be feeling.

Stuff’s Leftist political reporter Laura Walters is hinting NZ First is about to go soft on crime, and is pushing the idea that public attitudes on law and order have changed.

That would be the death knell for NZ First, and a great boost for National at the polling booths. So most Kiwiblog readers will be saying bring it on.

Her “opinion piece” on Stuff Walters includes:

“But recent changes of attitude by some in the criminal justice space suggest the Labour-led Government’s grand-plan for the biggest criminal justice overhaul in 30 years just might be achievable.

A former Labour Party president, now head of penal reform group the Howard League, says the “lock ’em up and throw away the key brigade” isn’t as big or as powerful as it once was.”

The former Labour Party president Walters is referring to is Mike Williams, chief executive of the Howard League, which champions prisoners’ rights and rehabilitation. Williams was Labour president from about 1999 to 2009.

Listeners to Radio NZ’s Red Radio will be familiar with Williams, who was for a long time was the Labour spokesman in the weekly political show.

More interesting than Williams’s predictable views are those Walters attributes to NZ First’s Justice spokesman, Darroch Ball. These seem contrary to the stand NZ First made in saving the Three Strikes legislation from being axed by Labour’s Minister of Justice, Andrew Little.

Walters reports that Ball “… is committed to making changes that will help fix the prison population problem and reduce reoffending.”

She reports ” both parties [ Labour and NZ First] agreed there needed to be “real change” in the justice system.

Walters reports Ball called National’s attempt to win votes by talking about ‘tough on crime’ as “tired, old rhetoric” and “basic in the extreme”.

Ball is a former Army officer and secondary school teacher.

His views seem so contrary to those of Winston Peters in his Three Strikes stand that you have to wonder if Ball is staging some sort of party coup against Peters and Jones.

Sorry about the news Jacinda but with a new royal baby on the way I reckon McCaw Jnr is going to occupy one hell of a lot of glossy copy over the coming months.

Tim Shadbolt, aged 71, has announced he will again stand in the election for Mayor of Invercargill. He is the longest serving mayor in NZ’s history, having been mayor of the city from 1993to 1995, and from 1998 until now.

Before that Shadbolt was mayor of Waitemata City from 1983 to 1989.

Shadbolt is reported in the Southland Times as saying about his long spell as mayor: “I have got my nose well and truly in ~~the trough~~ front so it will be a record I can hang on to for some time.”

Shadbolt is reported as saying he put Invercargill on the ~~mat~~ map, and wants to keep it on the ~~mat~~ map.
