    Yes, but what I wonder is whether it’s a distraction that will flare up again. He doubtlessly has more recordings and he is still an MP. He could keep dripping information or he could wait and cause havoc just before the next election. I want to understand his motives better to predict what will happen.

      Maybe tas but by and large self-created independent MPs are totally ignored in Parliament by both sides of the House and staffers. They are pariahs and struggle daily for a presence. Think Brendan Horan as the most recent example.

      There is no way he has bigger dirt. He would have played it by now when he was cornered.
      
      The biggest single thing to come out of this whole sad saga in terms of dirt on National was Bridges calling Maureen Pugh “fucking useless”. That was contained quickly by Bridges just apologizing.

  David Fishers article will grind Slaters gears severly as Slater has had a bug up his arse about Fisher for a long time.
  
  Fisher’s article seems pretty balanced but I imagine he would have had a wry smile in writing about Ross’s association with Slater, Slater’s modus operandi and current standing with National MP’s.
  
  The person who comes through well in this yet again is Simon Bridges.

    Fishers shots are getting more subtle too and they cut deeper because of it. I naturally assume whatever Slater says is a lie or twisted beyond recognition from the actual facts.

  I like the Whip’s letter to Jami (cc to Trevor) saying it is Jami’s job to inform the Speaker that he is no longer a member of National caucus or party. Presumably until he does this, National collects the funding attributed to him and the National whips still hold by default his vote (but presumably will not exercise it).
  Hopefully while Jami is away, the National whips would have arranged with Parliamentary Services an alternative office outside the National ‘zone’ and rejigged his swipe card ‘accesses’ accordingly.

    Just had another thought. Jami obviously wants to stay in Parliament, both for the renumeration and to secure his Parliamentary pension (he will have clocked up the 9 years in March 2020). It is safe to assume he has no chance in the 2020 election – I doubt that even Winston would want him.
    He however has the Sword of Damocles hanging over his head. If he breathes through his nose for the remainder of the term, National will most probably tolerate his presence in Parliament through gritted teeth. National would be reluctant to use the Waka hopper law against him. However if he speaks out of turn again, National would need to weigh up whether his actions or the use of the Waka hopper law would cause the most political damage. There does not seem to be a time limit for invoking it, but if it went to court, the court would probably rule that it had to be invoked within a ‘reasonable’ time.

    So Cam remains totally arrogant on this one. He am Simon Lusk should be advising Jami to keep his head down and use the window of opportunity (remaining in Parliament) to re-build his life and find a new career direction.
    I do not know of any other ’employer’ who would give an employee two years of gardening leave on full pay.
    Perhaps having caused the unintended consequence of a mental breakdown his mentors should cease using him as a political pawn. His mentors probably cannot resist it.

    In all the party votes I have seen this week, National’s tally has been 55 votes. That confirms that the National whips are not exercising any right to claim Ross’ vote. He is consigned to the “Any other votes” category at the end of every party vote, and as long as he is absent, his vote will not be recorded unless he now givesw another party his proxy.

  Another interesting aspect is that many, many months ago WO would write (as a bit of a threat) that National (Bridges) made “promises” to MP’s that he wouldn’t be able to keep (eg in terms of promotion), which the David Fisher article touches upon.
  
  This looks like WO is referring to Ross, if so, Ross’ “unhappiness” about Bridges goes back before June (the date which Ross started “plotting” according to the David Fisher article).
  
  The sad thing is, Ross appears then to have been spending these last several months rather unproductively scheming (and leaking to WO) instead of fully concentrating on his job!
  
  However despite all this, I wish Ross well in his health recovery and if he could concentrate on being a MP (instead of being lead “astray” by his “friends”) and work constructively in Parliament, perhaps he could redeem himself from the disaster he has helped cause …

      I agree. What is more, it’s a safe bet that his parliamentary colleagues instinctively have been uncomfortable with him. Some people just don’t ‘ring true’, and in the end expose themselves for what they are. It happens in all walks of life.

    The thing is Ross is obviously a narcissist, I am sure he and Bridges did discuss potential jobs post leadership. Ross wanted them all- he had a completely unrealistic expectations about what would happen. Bridges was thinking yes- JLR may be in line for front bench or shadow leader of the house or chief whip- but no one would ever be all three. JLR wanted all three- he heard what he wanted to hear, as he has with his recordings that showed nothing other than SB thought his list MP from the West Coast wasn’t up to it (which she isnt). JLR had never had a real job outside of politics other than as a swimming pool life guard, he does know how the real world works. It is wrong to make out Simon Bridges broke promises. What we have is an unstable mind that read more into this than what was actually there.

  Winston’s Electoral (Integrity) Amendment Bill reads like it was written by Joseph Heller, author of “Catch-22” – famous for the exchange:
  
  “Is Orr crazy? Can you ground him?”
  “I sure can but first he has to ask me to. That’s part of the rule.”
  “And then you can ground him?” Yossarian asked …
  “No, then I can’t ground him.”
  “You mean there’s a catch?”
  “Sure there is a catch,” Doc Daneeka replied. “Catch-22. Anyone who wants to get out of combat duty isn’t really crazy.”
  
  One question is – While is seems National can choose to use the new legislation in regard to Jami-Lee Ross, does the new law actually state conditions that apply automatically whether Bridges decides to act or not?
  
  For the purposes of subsection (2), a member of Parliament ceases to be a parliamentary member of the political party for which the member of Parliament was elected only if—
  (a) the member of Parliament delivers to the Speaker a written notice that complies with section 55B; or
  (b) the parliamentary leader of the political party for which the member of Parliament was elected delivers to the Speaker a written notice that complies with section 55C.
  
  Does “only if” require action under this law or is it’s statement then untrue, and Ross is still a National Member?
  Does it mean “the member of Parliament” [Ross] must act under this law, or “the parliamentary leader of the political party” [Bridges] must act.
  
  Media this morning report National Party senior whip Barbara Kuriger has written to Ross detailing why the party had rejected his proxy vote. And adds –
  “You were expelled from the National Party caucus on 16 October 2018 and on the same date you resigned your membership of the New Zealand National Party … [It is] “now incumbent on you to confirm with the Speaker that you are no longer a member of the National Party caucus nor the New Zealand National Party”
  
  Doesn’t that mean, If Ross acts under 55B, a Notice from member of Parliament, Ross brings about is own demise – The seat of a member of Parliament to whom this section applies becomes vacant if the member of Parliament ceases to be a parliamentary member of the political party for which the member of Parliament was elected?
  
  Or Ross could not act, which presumably requires 55C Notice from parliamentary leader of political party, which means Bridges has to do for him.
  
  I guess the “Catch 22” is which happened first?
  Was Ross expelled from the caucus on 16 October, before he resigned his membership of the National Party on the same day.
  Does who it is now incumbent on to confirm with the Speaker, that Ross is no longer a member of the National Party caucus nor the New Zealand National Party, rest with who acted first?
  
  The other question then is – If Bridges, as party leader, simply informs the Speaker in writing of what the Speaker already knows (because Mallard’s own words recognising Ross as an Independent is in Hansard), but does not mention it “has distorted, and is likely to continue to distort, the proportionality of political party representation in Parliament as determined at the last general election” or “that at least two-thirds of the parliamentary members of that party agree” (because Ross is expelled and has resigned), will Speaker Mallard then have to instruct Bridges that Winston’s Electoral (Integrity) Amendment Bill applies here – use it
  So, National has to use the waka-jumping bill because they are told to?

Yesterday evening, it sounded like ILG was saying Sroubkek was given PR on his correct passport because he already had PR on his false one. They were just “validating his current residency”.

What a ball of crock. Since his original residency was on a false passport, it was null and void, and any new PR decision should have been taken in light of his history and the current circumstances only. ILG really screwed up that decision.

    And this is partly why I tend to believe the basis for ILG’s decision. The useless prick made a bad decision, then when the $#!t hit the fan, they realised it wasn’t going to stand up to scrutiny, so they tried to obfuscate with “absolute discretion” and implying his life was at risk. Now everyone has read between the lines and found there’s nothing there. Some of the MSM (believe it or not) also raise a lot of facts that ILG would have had access to, if he had just taken the time to read the reports. Now the chickens are coming home to roost.

  This morning Red Radiointerviewed their go to Immigration Lawyer on the matter, Alistair McClymont on the matter. He was one irritated individual on this matter.
  
  He pointed out:
  1. The Czech will have had permanent residency from 2003, what ILG did was approve an administrative tidy up in the Czech’s real name. So to the CoL trolls, who have been peddling misinformation all week, you guys are as bigger liars as Ardern;
  2. More importantly, ILG was lifting the deportation orders for when the Czech left jail.
  
  So, in effect ILG was giving the Czech a level of protection.
  
  The rest of the interview was almost comical, because the suggestions were:
  1. ILG clearly hadn’t asked for any further information that would be readily available from Immigraion officials;
  2. That ILG had given the Czech more consideration (apparently) that he gives to more deserving migrants cases, which he never gets to see; and
  3. This case exemplifies how Immigration case management has become a tick box exercise.

Oh well, The Commerce Commission has released its report about apparent ‘overcharging’ by Auckland Airport. Airport critics claim it is a ‘victory’ but the Airport company does not seem too concerned with it. Indeed the share price has gone up a bit, so the market does not seem too worried.
One effect of this process and the criticisms from airlines is the Airport Company is risk adverse when it comes to investing in new facilities. They are probably using an ‘internal’ rate of return of 15 to 20% when making capex decisions. This favours incremental developments over ‘big bang’ developments such as a new Domestic terminal (the present one was built as a cargo shed to be used as an interim temporary terminal and has grown like topsy ever since).
The losers for the Airport using such a high internal rate of return are the airlines and the customers – both because facilities are continually slightly stretched and slightly under par, and because as long as the facilities are fully utilised the cost of cumulatively inefficient capex decisions are passed on regardless of Commerce Commission thinking.

  Housing redevelopment is pushing ahead in Glen Innes.
  The aging 1940s/1950s stock of weatherboard houses on 1/4-acre sections are being demolished and the sites are being amalgamated into huge blocks, ready for the construction of 3-story terrace houses.
  Glen Innes is a good location for workers, with a short drive to Penrose and the industrial areas. It should not be a place for non-workers.

        Mrs Annie, I’m largely of old pioneer-settler stock, and believe a constitutional monarchy is one of the most stable forms of government, and in NZ’s case extremely cheap, and much more cost effective than a republic.
        
        But some of the most ardent republicans I know are Pommy folk living in NZ.
        
        Of the bullshit side of Royalty, I’ll take the distant mob as easier to ignore than the Auckland glitterati. Those locals would be even more unbearable if NZ were a republic.

  Had to laugh about Porirua, particularly Cannons Creek. The whole area is a ghetto. Maori , PI’s and lesser preferred neighbours were deliberately placed there and area is out of bounds otherwise.
  The housing stock there is old and in need of refreshing. The community will not welcome KiwiBuild ballotees who are cultural misfits. KiwiBuild “homes” are well out of the income range of the Creek people.

Right now there is a caravan of thousands of migrants from Central America heading north to the United States. The plan appears to be to set foot in the United States and claim asylum because of supposed persecution back in Guatemala and Honduras.

They have been offered asylum in Mexico where presumably they will be safe? But no – only the USA will do.

The reporting on this has been abysmal. Even the embedded fox news reporter has been more like an apologist for the caravan rather than a reporter asking actual questions.
For example who is funding this exercise? How are they being fed? Who organised this trip? Are there criminals amongst the caravan as President Trump has claimed?

Is this all an exercise to embarrass Trump and the administration prior to the midterms? The reporting has been that they will not arrive till after the midterms. But now we see that buses are involved. Who is funding those buses? Will they arrive a day or 2 before the midterms to give maximum impact of border officials clashing with the caravan?

These questions have so far not been answered. Oh for a news network with actual reporters who will ask actual questions to actually inform actual viewers.

I’m not normally a conspiracy theorist but there are so many aspects of this caravan and its timing that are so convenient to the left-wing open borders cause. Is the whole thing being funded by George Soros and his affiliates?

And the message not lost on every one is, if they can rally towards the American borders, why aren’t they back home agitating with their Governments in such an organised way for improved conditions?   A few days ago we were watching Mike Heggetty? discussing the caravan. Mike Pence has indicated organisation, encouragement of migrants and funding of the caravan is coming from Venezuela. Not cheap to feed and accommodate 7000 people so it will not be an organic movement. The idea is to swamp the USA to destabilize the USA political system because of ‘interference’ of the USA in South American politics. There were reports of further caravans forming with possibly 50000 – 60000. There are now reports some members of the caravan have returned home after hearing of the troops on the boarder.

  By international law asylum seekers have to seek asylum at the first border they come to, so they have no legal right to asylum in the US. However there is the humanitarian issue of exhausted people arriving with sick children etc. I imagine Trump has a plan to deal with this. Will be interesting to see how he handles it, but it won’t hurt him. Agree with the others, it’s a Dem own goal.

  The implication is that there are 200,000 families trying to buy homes but can’t afford them. Where I suspect the reality is this is a pure statistic that has nothing to do with those actually not owning or renting.

  The Shared Equity Scheme is not a new scheme.
  HNZ has been doing it for a couple of years in conjunction with local Affordable Housing Charitable Trusts…
  It does work.
  The difference is the Trusts choose the owners. There is no ballot.
  You put in your expression of interest and then go through a process to be selected.
  The Trusts ensure that the people chosen are ones who actually need the help,ie low income and also we try to pick people who are actually doing work in the Community.
  The Govt claiming this as a new initiative is bullshit.

An adult drew the mountains, sun and main “flower” Kids drew the houses, swing and blobs on the right and may have coloured in the brown stem, leaves and petals. That’s the point, you’re discriminating against those that have trouble paying for things. A bit like those companies that offer “no deposit now”, they’re doing the opposite, trying to attract people that can’t pay for things knowing full well they can sell the debt onto a private company without, potentially, every delivering the product.

I know Kiwiblog will have a Jewish or affiliate readership cohort.

I understand there is a lot of evaluation as to how the horrendous murder and desecration could have occurred. A lot of focus has been on what might have motivated the individual. Most speculation has simply centred on brute, primitive, vulgar anti-semitism.

I want to assist Kiwiblog members to understand some of the foundations of the growing antagonism between Americans and Jews.

Exhibit A: Michelle Goldberg writing in the New York Times ‘We Can Replace Them’.

Goldberg could have written anything. She chose to write an article whereby she states that the overriding goal of Jews in the United States is to replace white Americans with Hispanics, muslims and to a lesser extent, African Americans.

Goldberg could have written a different article. Here are the many contributions of Jews to American life. Here is why we are American. What occurred was a tragedy. Let’s heal together. Instead? She wrote a lead opinion editorial stating that the Jews in the United States seek soft genocide of Americans against the will of those Americans.

What are the thoughts of an educated reader, reading such a piece? They are simple – no, Jews will not replace Americans. Jews will be replaced. You will not replace us. We will replace you.

Goldberg regards it as axiomatic that being a European American is intrinsically illegitimate, immoral, and evil. She believes that European Americans have no right to exist in the United States.

She says white people are afraid of non-white rule in the United States. Well, one reason that might be the case is because Jews like Michelle Goldberg regularly say that whites, in essence, need to be annihilated. Replaced.

So it is now an unspoken but open conflict. Will Jews be able to replace whites in the United States? Who make the United States what it is? Or will white be able to resist Jewish cultural and national terrorism and replace Jews first?

So that’s one example. Goldberg could have written anything. Everyone is repulsed by the violence. Even the barest modicum of conciliation would engender goodwill. Instead – we, the Jews, will replace anyone who resists our agenda to end the United States of America and turn it into Mexico.

Okay? So that’s one aspect for what is going to be ever increasing hostility from Europeans towards Jews in the United States.

And if you’re honest – what other choice do US whites have? The SJW Jewish left has shown time and again they truly wish to annihilate them. For national survival, Europeans are in the United States are going to have to defend themselves against the Jewish agenda to annihilate them. It’s overt. It’s public. There is no doubt. Immigration in the US is a weapon, being wielded by Jews against people who just want to have a right to exist in their own country.

So I predict that you will see more Irgun like activities from whites in the United States struggling for survival against Jewish hatred and supremacy. It wasn’t regarded as terrorism when Irgun were murdering Europeans in Israel. There needs to be some recognition that if you state your political agenda is the annihilation of a sovereign nation there is possibly going to be some consternation and resistance yes?

That’s one aspect.

        You should, if you are able, read some real science advice. First, the collected writings and videos of Richard Feynmann.
        
        Don’t you know there are highly qualified recognised scientists who have predicted that a prolonged cooling has commenced?
        Also that the IPCC itself in its TAR plainly stated they were dealing with a chaotic system and no predictions by them were possible. The maths is impossibly difficult and can yield very peculiar results. As a result the models all produce something agreeable to the modellers.

In the local Eastern Courier here in Auckland there was an article about how Mt. Wellington will be “pedestrianized” (car less).
The article spoke about the cultural significance to the new co-owners (iwi corporation and Auckland Council?). It didn’t mention that the people of Mt. Wellington will no longer be able to drive up to the summit with their fish and chips (which is a local custom that apparently doesn’t count any more).
Like Mt. Eden, a lot of expensive vehicle-controlling electronic infrastructure will be installed at Mt. Wellington. I suspect the rate-payers of Auckland will be footing the bill.
Is it moral for the taxes of the masses to be funding the wishes of a very small racial minority?

  Odakyu Sen, as I live close by Mt Eden and often walk up to the summit.t I’m not aware of electronic controls and surveillance. Most enjoy the experience including Tourists who don’t have to walk far to get there. Also many enjoying their fish n chips up there.

I was trying to understand a bit more about what’s going on in the US.

It’s not a reference to ‘white nationalists’ (as in people who adopt a much less virulent form of nationalism then Israelis). She refers to the white male Republican candidate in Georgia and all of his voters. They are the people the Jews in the United States want to replace.

What’s so strange is that Goldberg propounds the annihilation of essentially every white American from the United States. But she has no self-perception about why people would modify their behaviour in the face of such a vicious and surreal promise.

It doesn’t excuse murder and sacrilege. However the conflict is only going to increase. It will not be due to primitive, brute, vulgar anti-semitism. It will be due to people seeing a small group of people trying to annihilate them, and resisting their annihilation.

Can Jews not understand that an animating proposition to destroy people who have given you everything, power, their sons’ blood to defend Israel, trillions of dollars, and their entire culture and way of life and existence is going to cause consternation and anger? Which is justified? Imagine if white Christians in Israel said to the Jewish people in Israel – we are going to replace you, and then poured all their energy into bringing in millions of say, South Africans and Russians into Israel that the Jews have to pay for?

It’s hard to read an article like Goldberg’s and not feel a streak of ‘no, the Jews will not replace us, we will replace you, instead’.

She could have written anything. A simple tribute to the victims of the murder, a traverse of all the manifold contributions of Jews to American life, and a request for friendship to end violence would have been unimpeachable.

Instead, she wrote an article saying Jews will work tirelessly in the United States to annihilate the national cohesion of the posterity of the United States constitution.

So if people are wondering if the hostility is random – no it isn’t. Unfortunately I suspect this is only the beginning. People don’t generally simply accede to being destroyed against their will when they are the sole reason a state functions. What was always an unspoken truth is now in the open – the United States is in a race. Who can replace who? Will the Jews replace the posterity of the constitution? Or will those people be able to defend themselves first?

In the first trial, the judge Tony Ellis had a BA majoring in mathematics.

Later the appeal court wrote

“The Crown accepted at trial that if it was impossible for Mr Lundy to have driven the distance from Petone to Palmerston North and back, and committed the murders, in the period of just short of three hours said to have been available to him, he should be acquitted.”

And then

“The distance between the Lundy home in Palmerston North and the motel in Petone was measured at between 147 and 150km depending on the exact route. To drive that distance in 75 minutes involves an average speed of about 120kpm. The jury were, in our view, entitled to conclude that this was by no means an impossibility, particularly bearing in mind the circumstances in which the journey took place.”

Do you see the problem here, this is mathematically impossible, so the appeal would have been allowed if Andrew Tipping j had a maths degree like the trial judge, who was compelled to accept the jury verdict.

      This was 7 to 8 pm through the old route, there is no point arguing it’s possible because it is now universally agreed it’s not, and reinforced by the police changing the theory to early morning.

His thesis is twofold:

NZ to introduce Alimony.

Feminist think tank, The Law Commision has announced.

This is as result of its review of the failed Relationship Property laws.

A major change is a carbon copy of what I have advocated for years. Property owned by a person at the beginning remains that persons. Capital gain on that property will be split 50:50.

Other changes include.
The primary caregiver will automatically get the house. Only 10% of mothers walk out leaving the kids and males only get awarded custody in 6% of family court cases. This is code for the woman gets the house until settlement. High risk of manifestly unjust outcomes in such a policy. But it sounds good.
The split ratio of 50:50 will be modified by ‘The best interests of the Child’. This is code for mothers get extra. Agian high risk of manifestly unjust outcomes, but the catch phrase sounds good.

So what they have added is uncertainty. The carrot for women to engage lawyers, forcing men from children’s lives, and for men to employ lawyers in defending themselves.

As for the Alimony.
What the hell is this doing being added as matrimonial property. This will be tested on the bases of transitioning women from being stay at home mums. Compensating them for their choice not to work. The money will however be confiscated as offsetting DPB payments. Or maybe it won’t.
The issue becomes a man might pay 33% in tax, 27% in child support, 10% in student loan leaving 30% to pay rent etc etc. There is nothing left already.

While they intend to fix a major error in current Law. Probably due to women being ripped off which was not envisioned when the law was first created. The new sound good but obviously bigoted changes will have only one benifactor.

    As a general principle 50:50 capital gian is the just option. It prevents or limits the obvious predatory false love situation. If you don’t go with such a rule you end up with an argument over every cent contributed, compensation for non earning contribution etc or sexual predatory behavour.
    
    In effect everything earned during the relationship is shared 50:50. Protecting pre relationship assets like retirement savings. Obviously inflation over time affects the end result. A 3 year relationship is made vastly safer. A 25 year relationship becomes more like present 50:50 split of everything.
    
    If you believe you need special protection then get a pre nup. Be aware however that they are routinely voided. The change actually for most people removes the need for pre nup.
    
    They also intend to change Trust Law so assets are no longer protected in that way.
    
    Guys are getting ruined because there is presently no protection for existing assets. Unless the person goes to extraordinary lengths to isolate and protect existing assets. Again courts routinely ignor those efforts.
    
    There is an endless list of severely harmed people, profound majority male that have relationships end the day after the ex qualifies for matrimonial property. This shift to asset gains being split is a major improvement making predatory sexual behavours less attractive.

So why the seeming insistence of a repeat?

Anyway, I totally repudiate the murder in Pittsburgh. Nothing justifies murdering innocent people, particularly elderly people, who almost certainly have zero knowledge of any of this.

But I just want there to be some reflection. Because crimes and hypocrisy of such a high order – stealing such a vast sum of money, betraying such a steadfast ally in such a forceful manner, calling for the annihilation and replacement of people who have allowed you to essentially take control of their society, debasing culture whilst purporting to be it’s protectors – that is going to have ramifications.

So anyway. Enough. It’s all distasteful. But you know what the real tragedy of this is? I know, without a doubt, that any New Zealand Jews actually reading this, their first thought will be not self-reflection. It will be – how can we remove the ability of this individual to have an opinion and to express it in New Zealand? He or she is an awful anti-semite. And all of this is truth imparted out of concern for our wellbeing is one cast insult on our being.

Well no, it isn’t.

Anyway. No doubt the Dems will take the house, and the left will have an opportunity to show magnanimous it is.

  As Maggy wrote, NZ was desperate for unskilled & semi-skilled labour in the 60s & 70s. We manufactured or assembled nearly everything we could buy. Cars, TVs, furniture, clothing, nails, whiteware, carpet were a few of the items inefficiently produced in NZ factories.
  
  Featherbedding was rife in the freezing works which employed about twice the staff they needed because no one did a full day’s work. In the Hutt, for instance, employers would engage a worker on Monday, pay him before lunchtime on Thursday when he would go on the piss until Monday, get sacked, walk to the next factory up the road & get hired, no questions asked.
  
  In this circus the unions prospered, largely helped by dirty stinking Poms who inevitably wrangled themselves into positions as union delegates.

I hear from reliable sources that the investigation should reveal that the minister ignored advice from immigration and did not take the obvious steps to deport him. What surprised everyone was that he also granted the crook residency when it was not requested.

It was entirely his decision and typical of his arrogance.

If this is proven it will be another scalp for National.

  In these situations there’s a fine line between being a “strong” leader, and cravenly throwing your subordinate under a bus. Toothy has no idea where that line is, let alone how to walk it. Having said that, Sleaze deserves all that’s coming to him. Bring on the bus.

  The only way to stop high Maori crime rates is to stop them joining gangs and to educate them properly and give them some work ethic and pride in themselves.
