So Mr.Tarrant is complaining that he’s not allowed visitors, phone calls or media access.
He should consider himself lucky. If this atrocity had happened in any other country the cops would have blown his head off.

  Well… no. Often such massacres end in the death of offenders because they shoot themselves or choose suicide by cop (e.g., David Gray).

  I believe we would all have been better off if that had been what happened. Overseas the usual apologists are saying that all Muslim mass murderers end up dead, so the fact he didn’t, is again proof that the West is crusading again, so on, so forth.
  
  However – I for one would like to hear what he has to say on the subject of how he got vetted and cleared for a firearms license…

  What is the sense of killing the best lead that you have to such an awful crime?
  
  Take them alive, and then take them apart.
  
  – Did they act alone?
  – Who else was on the “team”?
  – Who funded the act?
  – Who was paid to “look the other way”?
  – Who would have benefitted from the act?
  So many questions. Dead men don’t tell tales.
  
  The cardinal rule: always dispose of your weapon after the crime. (So why is this guy still alive if the act was a false flag?)

He let Suzie Fergusson cut him off as he was making a point about Cat Stevens re hate speech.
She tried insinuating he supported White Supremacy.
He needs to be less polite and stand his ground more firmly. Use short, sharp sentences during radio interviews.

        I am sorry but that is like me having to say that I have Maori friends or dated one once or twice so I can’t possible be a racist, I just don’t think of my friends in that way.
        
        I find having to do that offensive.
        
        Simon isn’t in his job because he has Maori heritage, nor would I suggest does Paula so why should they be goaded into stating the fact for that then to be used against them at a later date that they used that heritage as an advantage, like a ‘quota’, I prefer meritocracies, which I believe the National Party on the whole espouses.
        
        I did laugh last election at the discomfort displayed by various Maori MP’s when David Seymour had speaking rights on Marae or some such along with the rest, I do not know how many were aware or would have cared that he has Maori heritage, nor would it seem to be an issue.

        On Kiwiblog people sometimes complain about people showing racism/sexism towards white males, and it doesn’t matter if the offenders are white males themselves (pick someone from the Greens, if you like). So, I don’t think that being a member of a group automatically precludes you from being able to show racism towards other members of that group. The expression “Uncle Tom”, for example, was used to describe black americans who bought into the racism of the whites.
        
        (btw, this has nothing to do with Simon Bridges per se (I’m not accusing him of anything), I’m just thinking out loud about the general principle).

  In may ways that interview epitomises how utterly shit and partisan our media have become , that is RNZ , state funded and supposedly our most respected and Ferguson poses the question to the leader of the opposition :
  
  “So disseminating white supremacist views is OK in your view?”
  
  He never said nor even implied that and yet she put that out there baldly knowing full well that’s not what he was saying.
  
  Time for conservatives to get “woke” to what’s happening . The new New Zealand . And the media are to the forefront of the attack.

  Maggy, Simon is a classic example of the fear conservatives feel in this country since the shootings. Goldritz and Davidson spew all kinds of hate speech with impunity, but the rest of us are pacified by selected moderation. Facebook and You Tube slam much of right of centre opinion, but meekly allow left of centre hate speech. Radical teachers continue to drive their agenda onto naive school children.       I refuse to lay down and be walked over–I haven’t got a drop of Polynesian in me. I am white beyond my control being of Irish, Scots, German and Cockney ancestry. I see all those ethnic threads contributions to my life skills. Generalities may well express the truth of typical traits.
      
      I hope my tolerance is high as befits a Christian. Later this year my youngest daughter is to marry a fellow with Tuwharetoa ancestry. I spent 7 years working in a Pacific country where cultural respect was essential.

Well yesterday, Mrs HK gets an email about a school trip his class will be doing. Amongst the obligatory list of what he is required to have with him was, a PLASTIC BAG for his wet clothing.

  School books got soggy, leather schoolbag got damp and had to be dried out on the clothes line, or the leather would crack. Or get mouldy.

They refilled pens with ink, instead of buying a new pen, and they replaced the razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull. Back then, people took the streetcar and kids rode their bikes to school or rode the school bus instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service.They had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances.     I have the most utmost respect for Jordan Peterson, who appears on so many interviews where they try to trap him into saying a sound grab that others can use to destroy his reputation. He never loses his temper and chooses his words brilliantly. He’s not afraid of a moments silence while he contemplates what to say and often turns the questions back to the interviewer.
    
    A very hard skill to develop, especially when so many traps have been laid to get you.

A new ban in Tauranga City designed to move homeless away from the shopping district. A community worker is criticising the ban as he says the city buildings provide dry conditions for the homeless which they won’t have if forced to live in the local parks, etc.

Last week we drove past the Tauranga port where it was laden with mountains of containers. There are empty ones for sale that could be put strategically for the homeless to find shelter from the wind and rain.

On Saturday evening TV1 News at 6 ran two items on Islam.
The first said –
The past two weeks has seen our nation exposed to the Islamic faith and a culture on a scale not seen before. But many in the [Muslim] community say New Zealanders still don’t have an adequate understanding of their faith.

Two older men – one from Fiji and the other from Bangladesh – looked back on 50 years of living in New Zealand.
The front person suggests prejudice still exists – racism born out of ignorance.

And a young male Victoria University student ends with – “A wise person would say, before judging something, we need to learn” – a lesson in faith and culture (the front person says) these Muslims have long hoped to teach.

And, without pause, there is a cut to the next item:

A Hollywood actor, George Clooney, is calling for a boycott of hotels with links to Brunei after the country announced gay sex and adultery will soon be punishable by death.
From next week those caught in Brunei could face being publicly whipped or stoned. The Asian country adopted Islamic sharia law in 2014.
George Clooney is asking the public to avoid nine Dorchester-Collection Hotels in the UK, the US, France and Italy owned by the Sultan of Brunei.

And into the next item …

Since then, on shari law in Brunei, online media report –

But then, if you’ve read any of the Koran and know that where earlier peaceful portions contradict later violent statements, those later texts abrogate the earlier stuff and you realise it does rather exhort an unfriendly disregard toward you if you are, for example, an unbeliever.

And if, on maybe an Auckland bus, you sit next to a woman wearing a headscarf that you perceive is a hijab and so she a Muslim, might you not think “She seems kindly and reasonable, but if so, it is because she either do not herself fully understand her faith as the Koran prescribes – some people reputedly can recite it in Arabic, but not understand a word of it – or is she are enjoying New Zealand life and although displaying all the traits of Islam, do not ultimately believe in it entirely”?

Otherwise might one who is wise, perhaps feel a sense of reserve that you could be collateral damage – either from something she might do, or something some one else may do to her.
Because “Islam will dominate the world” the London protest placards say, and nobody refutes that, so as an unbeliever you may be a little excluded when they gain the population numbers.

Now how does Little want to counter that?

“We should reflect on where the lines need to be drawn and therefore, whether the laws should be struck so that they’re effective and provide some protection to people who’re otherwise vulnerable.”

Whether you are a believer or not may be a Little problem.

I was stopped in my tracks last week when a friend who professes to know a lot about international affairs (she has been on a lot of cruises around the Mediterranean, and buses around Indai and Europem and she religiously watches ‘The News’ on TVNZ) asked me what I meant by ‘the UN Compact on Migration’. She had been lecturing me on our need to accept as many refugees/immigrants as wanted to come for where else could they go?
I think I got her straightened out, but it was a reality check.

BTW – she doesn’t ‘watch’ youtube, lol.

Why is Ardern only going to China for a day rather than the original schedule which i think was 3 or 4 days? I get we had an attack in Christchurch but we have had many services and a memorial service on Friday. Why does she still need to be here because of the attack? It just makes no sense to me, the relationship with China is important and it has taken a hit since this government came in, she just doesn’t seem to give a shit about it at all.

We were led to believe by this Goverment that this should not happen and their goal was zero deaths on our roads, maybe their condemnation of National building better roads was not fallacy and maybe we do need better roads to stop this very serious problem.

The good news is that the Politically Uncorrect amongst us have time to prepare for our “outing”.

I imagine hubby can cope for a few years living on take-aways and his hard-as-rocks scones if I get whisked away to some re-education camp.

I might miss the cats for a day or two.. and I’ll fret that blackberry and tree privet are overwhelming my gardens… but I’ll look forward to having someone else preparing 3 square meals/day for me.

I trust I’ll be allowed to take some study… might see if I can complete my BA…. shouldn’t be any trouble in taking some Te Reo and Feminist issues papers.

I just read an interesting article about the Pike River re entry. Apparently they are filling the drift with Nitrogen at present to remove the methane, which was at 90% level. The explosive range for methane is 5-15%. I then assumed that the people entering the drift would don breathing apparatus while the nitrogen was still being pumped in, as the atmosphere would not be explosive and safe to enter. But to my astonishment they are going to turn off the nitrogen before entry and flood the drift with air so that the people entering will not need to wear breathing apparatus. This sounds like a recipe for disaster, especially if methane starts to build up again.

I have a serious issues concerning the direction this communist Govt is taking.

Rather than risk the wrath of our host by stating that Ardern has difficulty with the truth I am reminded by a phrase uttered by Winston Churchill.

“Terminological inexactitude”.

Basically it means a lie or untruth.

In parliamentary terms it is not good form to accuse another member of lying.

If the cap fits, wear it.

    As a public servant, the disaster this government wants to inflict on our country will damage you and yours first.
    
    Those of us that currently hold the wealth will become a target but those like yourself are a dime a dozen and will be grist for the mill.
    
    Only those at the top of the pile will get the baubkles and you mikey, are way below that.
    
    In most socialist societies the wealthy become part of the elite, you mikey do not.

Just heard on the 1 News, that liberals don’t want our NZ defense Force practicing the dropping of bombs. I guess they’d rather we don’t do it. That’s what our defense force is for FFS.
