What is Pathologized Totalitarianism ?

Now, I’m going to assume that you understand that the official “apocalyptic pandemic” narrative is predicated on propaganda, wild speculation, and mass hysteria, and that by now you are aware that we are dealing with a virus that causes mild to moderate symptoms (or absolutely no symptoms at all) in 95% of those infected, and that over 99.5% survive … thus, clearly, no cause for widespread panic or justification for the totalitarian “emergency measures” that have been imposed.

I am also going to assume that you watched as GloboCap switched off the “deadly pandemic” to accommodate the BLM protests, then switched it back on as soon as they subsided, and that you noted how their propaganda shifted to “cases” when the death count finally became a little too embarrassing to continue to hype.

So, I won’t waste your time debunking the hysteria. Let’s talk pathologized totalitarianism.

The genius of pathologized totalitarianism is like that old joke about the Devil … his greatest trick was convincing us that he doesn’t exist. Pathologized totalitarianism appears to emanate from nowhere, and everywhere, simultaneously; thus, technically, it does not exist. It cannot exist, because no one is responsible for it, because everyone is.

Mass hysteria is its lifeblood. It feeds on existential fear. “Science” is its rallying cry. Not actual science, not provable facts, but “Science” as a kind of deity whose Name is invoked to silence heretics, or to ease the discomfort of the cognitive dissonance that results from desperately trying to believe the absurdities of the official narrative.

  If you are going to try and dispute”science”, perhaps it would be helpful to actually quote some truths.
  
  For instance, according to worldometer, there are currently 10,392,555 confirmed cases and 507,373 deaths from the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak as at June 29, 2020, 22:51 GMT.
  
  which is a mortality rate of 4.88%.
  
  New Zealand’s population is, at the same time, 5,002,100.
  
  If we assumed that the coronavirus has the same mortality rate in New Zealand that’s 244,207 people dead.
  
  I can’t see any government in New Zealand believing that’s acceptable.
  
  And that’s just if we were as bad as the rest of the world.
  
  So don’t be so damn flippant.

    Don’t just pick and choose your statistics. For example, the CDC head says there could be 10 times as many infections in the US as have been diagnosed. That’s the country that is doing the most testing. So in other countries the true infection rate will be way higher. Also, there has still been no proper analysis of deaths with and deaths because of coronavirus. Do some proper research.
    
    Your figure above assumes a 100% infection rate. That has happened nowhere.
    
    If you want to grovel in New Zealand with it falling to pieces around your ears on the basis of statistics like that, go ahead. Just keep it to yourself, because there are enough numpties around that some might be stupid enough to believe you.

    Simon, I’ve just stopped laughing and can now respond to your hysteria.
    
    I respectfully suggest you do some research.
    
    Perhaps start by pointing me to a published paper that shows a, um, ‘mortality rate’ (whatever that is) of 4.88%.
    
    When you can’t find it, have a look at this. It details a global IFR of 0.1%
    
    Feel free to remain alarmed, and in the dark.

      I think it’s a fair assumption. Over a long term scenario, if we were to open the borders, and no vaccine be developed we may face a situation where we have to actually have the population go through the scourge of catching the Covid-19.
      
      As for not doing math well, interesting, especially as opponents to my point of view are using speculation to dispute my math.
      
      It was a while since I went to school, but please feel free to educate me as to how we no longer derive a percentage by dividing one number by another.

        If one or both of the numbers is false. In the case of this virus, the figures are very hard to ascertain. From personal experience, I was in a place where there was a lot of transmission but testing was only of people who could show contact with someone else who had tested positive. Which is a bit of a Catch-22. I caught what I am certain was the virus, which was confirmed by a doctor, but I wasn’t tested. So if my doctor’s diagnosis was correct, which I believe it to be, then I am someone who makes one of those figures wrong. In case it needs to be pointed out, it is the number of cases, not the number of deaths. It wasn’t that bad, either, if that helps allay your fears.

    IFR is about 0.5%, 60-70% for herd immunity assuming no masks worn. About 15k dead worst case scenario. With dexamethasone that goes down to about 10k. If everyone has good Vit-D levels (eg people who spend all their time indoors use supplements) then it drops further. With everyone wearing masks in public when we detect infections almost no-one would die.
    If we deliberately infected only under 50’s we could achieve herd immunity for less than 1000 dead.

  Thomas Sowell is a splendid chap. We need more with his clarity of thought, his wisdom, and his readiness to speak out.
  
  To the content of the vid, I have long said they most secure, stable, and ultimately valuable social construct is the nuclear family, where a biological father and mother raise their own children. The advancement of the social welfare state has seen increased support for almost everything except the nuclear family.

    krazykiwi, I’ve had some thoughts on the job losses happening in NZ – how about the women stay home and look after the children and extra income support going to working men to sustain a lifestyle for the family. Childcare costs would no longer be an issue just like the good old days when mum was home after school cooking a healthy meal, helping with homework and teaching the kids good manners. I think that would be a win, win for society as a whole.

    As well as being vital for the development of the child, the two income, home owning family is the greatest instrument developed for wealth accumulation for ordinary people.
    
    Recently saw some great stats out of the US showing that a few generations ago high earning men were quite likely to marry their pretty secretaries etc, but that these days graduates from top universities are tending far more to marry other graduates from universities, realising that such unions are the secret to rapid wealth accumulation.   Great video, thanks for the link. I couldn’t agree more about the deleterious effects of the welfare state both in America and here in NZ, and there’s another extremely dangerous campaign being waged on the nuclear family by the neo-Marxists.
  
  It’s discussed almost every day on KB and some other platforms – the normalisation and promotion of the idea that you can be any gender you want, that you can change your gender on a whim, that your child knows to a certainty at a very young age that they can “be whoever they want” and not surprisingly, they want to try something different.
  
  It’s no wonder kids are struggling with their identity and place in the world, when the adults literally don’t know if they’re Arthur or Martha. Schools and universities are not only actively promoting this tripe, but are also cancelling, shouting down, firing and often violently suppressing anybody with a differing view.
  
  Add the third piece of the puzzle – a global pandemic that plays right into the hands of those seeking to control us in the name of charity and benevolence, and you have the perfect recipe to keep huge chunks of the population dependent on the state and trapped in a life of poverty.
  
  I did like the quote about paying attention to the effects, not the intention, but the one I liked best was “what’s all this talk about poverty? The human race started in poverty.”

    I looked him up, and that doesn’t seem an accurate description. From what I can tell he’s no leading alarmist and has been criticising the environmental movement for 15 years.

      On behalf of environmentalists everywhere, I would like to formally apologize for the climate scare we created over the last 30 years.
      In the article he sees himself as in the thick of it but keeping back a bit to avoid strife. His concern about his young daughter’s fears has brought him to writing a book.

        I even stood by as people in the White House and many in the news media tried to destroy the reputation and career of an outstanding scientist, good man, and friend of mine, Roger Pielke, Jr., a lifelong progressive Democrat and environmentalist who testified in favor of carbon regulations. Why did they do that? Because his research proves natural disasters aren’t getting worse.
        
        You can argue that he is not a climate alarmist; he states he was and takes responsibility for helping shape environmental policy around this issue.

I see that in all official communications NZTA now calls itself “Waka Kotahi New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA)”.

I just see this as pointless. People will still call it NZTA. Including Maori. Just like the New name for Housing New Zealand. “Kainga Ora”.

It is just pointless virtue signalling. If it had an impact, everyone would know these names and use them. But they do not. Despite everything that they try Tūranga is still the Christchurch Library.

      I agree. The wise elders of the 1930’s knew that their people needed English for the modern world as did other nations. Te Reo is very important to tribal Maori as familial lines are described in it as well as land rights. Being oral it embeds and confers their cultural values which are very precious to those involved.
      
      Teachers cannot just be trained: they have to come with the authority of the elders to deal with matters which are culturally restricted.
      Trying to make the use of Te Reo universal is contrary to tribal authority. The kernel can never be appropriated and the basics of the exterior could be easily pidginised.

    No, he’s a lot worse. Over 50 years in politics and zero accomplishments except to make himself and his family wealthy through corrupt dealings. Sponsored legislation that targeted black youth for extra long sentences, personally said that he didn’t want his children to attend a school that was a racial jungle.
    
    And he is mentally affected, look at his recent performances compared to, say 3-4 years ago or even older, and he’s just not the same guy except in very brief instances. Forgets what he is saying, gets numbers completely bollocked up, loses the thread of his remarks. He was pushed very hard by the party and their allies to exclude Bernie, but now they’re sort of stuck. Presumably the strategy is to run with him through the election as he has so far proved to be the only Dem able to get out the black vote (though you have to ask why that would be so, given his history of racist gaffes). Then to have him step down voluntarily or through the 25th amendment process so his VP can take over and appoint an even more radical VP. No doubt the GOP will be pointing this out.

    Actually, pdm, all current regional and local councils should be abolished, and replaced by 16 councils based on the statistical regions as defined by the Department of Statistics.
    
    Each of such regions would have Local Boards (covering the entirety of each region) that would ensure effective “local representation”.

        In my humble, non-legally-trained, view, any crime that, today, would see the offender sentenced to, say, a non-parole period of 25 or more years, should see that offender sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

  Apart from that I’m sure the police would be interested to see if he exploited any weaknesses in our systems that allowed him to legally obtain an arsenal of weapons and drive around the South Is with them to a rifle range and up to Chch without causing alarm. The latest edition of the Catholic newspaper Zealandia has weighty articles and opinion pieces about the removal of statues, including religious ones, about changing our economic system away from capitalism and about the sinfulness of stating that ‘all lives matter’. As a Catholic convert who has done mission work in developing countries, who has a non white partner and a number of non white members in my extended family, I am proud of my European ancestry and no shame about being white. I would imagine that many Catholic NZers would share my concern about the white liberal guilt that is being espoused by many Catholic clergy and leaders in our country- particularly Cardinal John Drew. All lives should matter to the Catholic Church.

I just finished watching a programme on the History Channel about The history of the Magna Carta. Only two parts with the first part all about King John, the Barons and the serfs. The second episode was a surprise. It followed the decision making into the 20th Century, including the impacts of The New Deal (The original one not the ridiculous one flogged today by the Dems). It was a refreshing look at the impact of growing government and government dependency, and how the poor have returned to serfdom rather than the promised utopia.

Definitely worth a look if only to see a sensible, well researched argument, rather than the usual “Tax is Love”

Recently the world decided to go insane because a police officer killed a man he was trying to restrain and arrest. A man who has a violent past and was heavily intoxicated on alcohol and a cocktail of drugs.

So far the police officer has not been convicted of any crime although looks likely that some form of conviction will happen.

That insanity spread to New Zealand with a number of “celebrities” including maori rugby players joining in to show their “solidarity” with black people, because white people don’t actually kill maori people in NZ.

What a great shame that they elected to not speak out against the real crimes within New Zealand involving the killing of maori, both young and old, including this horrendous case from last year.

Our neighbor popped over for a coffee yesterday. A really neat girl. Solo mum mid 40’s. Dyed bronze hair. Fake tan. Ex Flight Attendant with Qantas. Often see her jogging along the Avenue. Black lycra gym gear and heels.
Roux was telling us one of her bestie’s works at Watercare as PA to the CEO. Reckons if you can put up with all the woke BS, it’s a very laid back office environment. She’s pulling about 90k a year plus bonuses. Never worked for anyone quite like Raveen. On the few occasions he bothers to pop into the office, always greets the entire staff with a huge….”BULA!”

I couldn’t help but think that’s nearly twice as much as the ADHB pays its Nurses 🙁

Unfortunately, my DW is momentarily drunk on the Jacinda coolaid.

I asked her the other day if she would vote Labour if Jacinda was leader. She said yes.

Then I asked her if she would vote Labour if David Clark was leader. Her answer was an emphatic no.

Unfortunately, this describes the current state of NZ politics. I think a lot of people seem to vote on the basis of a popular leader without a second thought for how strong the rest of the team is.

  I didn’t even know what papeha means, so I looked it up. According to https://pepeha.nz (which I would assume is fairly authoritative – but according to Chris Huriwai, apparently not – more on that in a sec), it means “Pepeha is a way of introducing yourself in Māori. It tells people who you are by sharing your connections with the people and places that are important to you.”
  
  Sounds simple enough. The website goes on to state, “This website is here to help all New Zealanders introduce themselves in Te Reo Māori, through Pepeha. We encourage everyone to learn the stories behind their Pepeha and share them with pride.”
  
  It even takes you through creating your own papeha. It asks for your name, where you come from, and a mountain and a body of water that is special to you or one that you have lived by. And that’s it. One papeha created, based on my NZ history.
  
  Except … Chris Huriwai (and a few people on the Twitter thread) seem to claim no, no, no, it’s not as simple as that. Of course not. So at this point I gave up.
  
  Sorry to say, this seems typical of the Maori issues floating around at the moment. Even if you try to do what you think is the right thing, someone will jump on you and say oh no, you absolutely can’t do (xyz) in that way, it’s disrespectful to real Maori. Or it’s cultural appropriation. Or something.
  
  To be fair, it’s not just Maori issues. I’m steering well clear of the whole BLM movement for the very simple reason that – as a pale stale male – I know damn well that the moment I say something, even if I’m trying to support BLM, I’ll get howled down. I’m not showing enough support; I’m not being sincere enough; I’m being culturally insensitive; I’m trying to tell the BLM activists what to do (remember Taika Waititi getting slammed for that?) It’s a minefield, so why would I bother?
  
  So, I’ll treat this issue the same way I do other similar issues around Maori culture, BLM, and all the other trendy stuff.
  
  I’ll simply ignore it, and have absolutely nothing to do with it.
  
  It’s a shame, because who knows? I *might* have been interested to give it a try – maybe from the perspective of my own heritage, which is English – but as people like Chris Huriwai would seem impossible to please no matter what I try to do, then stuff ’em.
  
  They’re welcome to bicker about the correct pronounciation, what is culturally appropriate and what isn’t, who’s entitled to claim what heritage, and so on. But I’m staying well out of it. And I imagine that people like Chris Huriwai will continue to lament that Maori language is dying and Maori customs aren’t respected enough, and will never quite work out that when they INSIST on people learning the language, learning the customs, but you have to do it absolutely perfectly because if you mispronounce a word or say the wrong thing or make the wrong motion with your hand then we’re going to howl at you and call you dumb ignorant people with no appreciation of the Maori culture … that we’re just going to give up and say stuff it. It’s just not worth it.

  Profiteering ought to be illegal, and their fine should have been doubled due to the pathetic excuse they gave, along the lines of “it would be unfair to advertise a special and then run out of it, so in fairness to everyone we removed the specials.”

      Not a big house brand fan, unless it’s for real basics. I use Pak n Save for bulk shopping and New World for the things I like. Yes, I know it’s probably dearer than CD and certainly dearer than PnS, but I like to shop there, they stock the things I like, it’s an NZ co-operative and that the stores are owned locally.
      
      Our Mount New World owner is a very genuine guy that cares about his customers and his staff. Some of the products might be made in China but the profits stay local rather than go to Australia. Each to their own and all that, cheers for the comment.

  That’s the most recent group, because a lot of people were trapped in India and flights have just restarted. As for coming through Doha, that is about the only way back from many places. To put your mind at rest, the flight I came back on a month or so ago was all white people who spoke English as their first language and hardly any of them owned a dairy.

      Well, as the saying goes, my ox is gored in this fight.
      
      I am (well, was) routinely sent offshore for 4 to 6 months of the year by my (NZ) employer, and my taxes and rates are all paid in New Zealand.
      
      I came back home and indeed arrived the very night that Level 4 Lockdown was declared, after my employer and I responded to the command from Winston Peters PBUH that we all had to come home now.
      
      I self segregated for two weeks on my lonesome in our family cottage (and by the way was never checked or called or tested or anything in those two weeks).
      
      Now, my employer is hoping that I can resume accepting overseas assignments, but Cindy is saying I can’t – and if I do leave even for work, I have to pay the full costs of my return quarantine.
      
      I note, completely relevant in my opinion, that we don’t even require actual criminal murderers, thieves, rapists, violent offenders, fraudsters, and so forth to pay the costs of their arrest, conviction and jail time.
      
      So why should I pay for the quarantine of required to undergo by the government, if I go overseas to earn foreign exchange for the government while paying full taxes and rates?
      
      Riddle me that, sweet cheeks…

To pay the Greens’ wealth tax you have to own an asset worth more than a million dollars. Even then you only pay a small amount of tax based on the amount over a million. So all those residents of leafy Wellington suburbs, mine included, can relax – especially if you co-own a house. Even if you own a million-dollar house and a million-dollar company, you’ll more likely be paying your accountant more per year than the wealth tax.

hmmm my house I bought a year ago is sitting at just over 700k, so not the $1m mark.
But my previous house (which was my first) that I had for 7 years went from $350k to $640k (and was the sole reason I could afford to buy a smaller house in the area I was moving to).
SO it wouldn’t be too long before It’s potentially sitting at the $1m mark.
I don’t have an accountant because I can’t afford one. I live from pay check to paycheck. And just had a 20% reduction in my salary that is increasingly looking to be permanent rather than the temporary measure we were hoping for.

  Yes they do. AA stopped being a driver / customer focused organisation a while ago. Or at least started taking the quiet individuals who make up the loyal AA membership for granted. NZTA give AA heaps of money to run “safety” projects.
  
  A big revenue line on their accounts. This might not provide full operational funding, but provides the “marginal income” that makes them profitable and happy. By the way the various cycling bodies including that idiot who leads them Patrick Morgan gets their salaries from running safety projects for AA.
  
  Also their marketing department has been hijacked by some cycling fanatics who seem to have been able to convince the AA that cycling is good for the car drivers because it apparently reduces traffic. Proof of all this is in the articles in AA magazine over time. Show me one project/case where cycling has reduced congestion after years of spending. The goalposts are always shifted or the excuses for lack of improvement become more creative.
  
  AA also seem to have stopped holding oil companies to account since they started making money on the AA card petrol discount marketing. AA is in their pockets too.
  
  The good old “mom and pop customers” who pay their annual dues are last in the line of people they care about. Its been a while now since I got rid of AA membership and instead depend on the roadside assistance provided by insurers. Outside of main centres it is the same people AA have contracted to provide service on their behalf anyway.
  
  There is a great opportunity for an industry body of service station owners to come up with a better product and take over the whole consumer book to lock out AA.
  
  The AA needs a CEO who is not woke and stupid.

How lucky are we, more tax increases to achieve bugger all by this government. Auckland hows that train your taxes went up for?

Fuel prices for Kiwi motorists are set to go up tomorrow as increases on road user charges (RUC) for light vehicles and petrol excise duty are introduced overnight.

The increase is the last in a three-year programme announced in July 2018 which has previously seen increases in September 2018 and July 2019.

According to the Ministry of Transport, the petrol excise duty will increase 3.5 cents to roughly 70 cents per litre while road user charges will increase by an “equivalent amount” of around 5 per cent. The cost of a road user charges distance licence for a light vehicle (eg a car, van, ute) will be $76 (up from $72) per 1000 km, including GST.

I was on the NZ Police website today looking for some info.

A comment made in relation to Murder victims, caused me to dig further.

The NZ Police highlighted in one of their reports that Maori were over-represented as victims of murder. They said that while Maori only made up 14-15% of the population they made up 33% of victims.

What they didn’t look at was the ethnicity of the perpetrators.

So I did a little search into the data tables on the MoJ site.

Interestingly for the past decade 44% of those CONVICTED of murder were Maori.

Not exactly like with like (multiple murderers, multiple victims, only those convicted) but it seems the rest of the population are more at risk from Maori than Maori are from them.

Just poked holes in tonites Apple Desert Cake and poured ginger syrup over the top.
While it was cooking, I decided to watch QT.
As the product of a strict Catholic upbringing (11 years at Catholic boarding school) I can’t help but notice that whenever Trev delivers the ‘Lord’s Prayer’, he always looks and sounds like he couldn’t give a shit.

Wait, you could leave isolation faking a text message. Damn. I would expect that the results would be given to not only the person being tested but the Ministry Of Health would of looked and said our records show this person in isolation is negative. Not that the person in isolation has to show the ministry they were negative.

I’d like to say monkeys are running the system, but we’ve seen monkeys are more intelligent than those running things here

Staff warned Housing Minister Megan Woods on day one of her new job that returning Kiwis leaving isolation could potentially ensure their exit by faking a negative test text message.

But this possible hole was swiftly patched up, and there is no evidence that anyone attempted to exploit it.

Reshuffle coming

National’s leader Todd Muller says he’ll be considering the representation of Māori when reshuffling the party’s caucus this week.

Just days into his leadership, Muller came under fire for the lack of diversity in his shadow Cabinet line-up.

There are no Māori MPs on the front bench, or of any other ethnicity, but three of National’s top four ranked MPs are women.

    The Insolvency Practitioners Regulation Act 2019 sets out a licensing regime for insolvency practitioners.
    An “accredited body” (eg Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and, I presume, the NZ Law Society) may issue a licence to an insolvency practitioner based on minimum requirements.
    
    And then, in the real world, section 280 of the Companies Act 1993 states who can’t be appointed as a liquidator.
    
    Unless the court orders otherwise, none of the following persons may be appointed or act as a liquidator of a company[.]
    
    The list of excluded people includes the obvious (eg a person less than 18 years old) and various descriptions of people who would have a conflict of interest (eg a creditor of the company in liquidation; or a person who has, within the 2 years immediately preceding the commencement of the liquidation, been a shareholder, director, auditor, or receiver of the company or of a related company).

The Kiwi contractors at the centre of Team New Zealand’s big spying scandal claim they’re whistleblowers, not spies.

The contractors were hired to run next year’s America’s Cup event, and they worked out of the team’s headquarters until they were fired by Team New Zealand following months of concerns confidential information was being leaked, sources confirmed to Newshub.

Just out of curiosity, I had a quick look at the pro-cannabis website makeitlegal.nz to see who might be behind it.

Turns out that one Nandor Tanzos is listed as a trustee (Whakatane based), and the pages all seem to be authorised by M Turei of Dunedin. Could the “M” possibly stand for Metiria, I wonder? Well, we were always curious about what she was up to now …

What a surprise. Never would have thought a couple of ex-Green MPs would be involved with this (/sarc)

Another leak? I’d say bridges team is leaking like they were jami lee

The National Party caucus has sprung yet another leak.

Newshub can reveal the party’s internal polling – which was finally shown to MPs on Tuesday – and it’s not great news for leader Todd Muller.

National MPs leaking from their sealed caucus room told Newshub they were shown slides of internal poll trends but were given no numbers.
