    Sorry accidental uptick. For the record, Donald Trump banned Epstein from his clubs years before any public complaints about him came up. Linking US President Donald Trump with Epstein is trying to deflect the really close connection between Epstein and all those Democrat politicians.   More to the point … Barr tried to change the leadership of SDNY because he knew the Maxwell arrest was coming.
  
  You have to remember that Barr’s family goes *way* back with Epstein – the Barrs are more tightly wound in with Epstein than the Trumps are. My own speculation is that Barr wanted to be AG so he could “manage” the Epstein situation.
  
  I’m sure there will be a genuinely interesting book written about Epstein’s history with the Barrs, Maxwells, Khashoggi, Israel etc.

LOL this morning Gluckman was so angry and frustrated in Red Radio interview: the daft interviewer was utterly confused by the law word ‘elimination’. Gluckman says reopening the borders is important, vaccine is years away and won’t be 100% and some covid cases in NZ will be inevitable. Testing, quarantine and contact tracing are the only way.

The funny part: he said the use of the word ‘elimination’ was a *communication* failure!

What was our PTPM meant to be so great at?

    Unfortunately, middle New Zealand, whoever that may be, is so terrified of this virus that they would rather see us go to the wall than risk it coming in. Our leaders need to be telling us the truth; it’s not that bad, you won’t die unless you’re over 80 or morbidly obese, and even then, you are most likely not going to even get symptoms let alone end up in an ICU. But they are now too invested in this “team of 5 million” nonsense. This government would trade our children’s futures for another term in power, and the arrogance of that is simply breathtaking. Thank god the scales are falling from the eyes of some educated, intelligent and influential people. I hope they will also fall from the eyes of others, and that they will be allowed to by this government.

      and it’s what could always have been happening with decent quarantine and testing procedures…
      
      Not a slack-arsed approach that mixes up folks at different stages of quarantine, or fails to register/check correct details of arrivals, or fails to test folks in isolation, or fails to instruct security guards in how to carry out their duties, etc.

        Of course Maggie, and that is why new border control is in place. The criticisms of the leaks are warranted but common sense and observing the rules were also expected. Now we see it has to be enforced and monitored at a higher level than trust. Everyone got a sharp reminder and we cannot ignore Corona 19 still appears not to have peaked.
        Probably a majority favours gradual re-opening with the caveat ‘safely,’ when Dann put to Gluckman that we had a high standard of border control he said we didn’t and pointed to the recent problems. Dann is deeply confused on this and repeated the same question in different ways getting rebuffed each time, he also unsuccessfully tried to put words in Gluckman’s mouth.
        Things are moving on while some folks want to milk errors and things learned long after their use-by date.
        Too many people crying wolf means the community switch off because they live in a bigger world than KB. Important to note when the majority on KB was against the lockdown public sentiment was recorded as highly in favour of it. Then the “herders” got their comeuppance in Sweden, Victoria, and other places.
        I heard yesterday the Minister is visiting Motels and Hotels this week, to think there are no thoughts about the suitability of increasing inward arrivals, including possible students, is silly.

  Thanks for that. It is good that more people are raising the issue of our exit plan. Because there is no plan. There may never be a vaccine. The virus will never be eliminated. What situation are we waiting for to reopen the borders? I have never heard the PM explain this.
  
  The other thing is the scale and cost of the 14 days quarantine for arrivals. They are now talking about sending folk to hotels in invercargill and Queenstown. Not sure that will lift the mood in Queenstown.

      1. The virus does not spread as fast as others. So a vaccine can cause the infection rate to shrink rather than grow even if vaccination is far from universal.
      
      2. A lot of the problem is paranoia more than the disease itself, which the vaccine will help with even if the risk is still there.
      
      3. If vaccination can eliminate the virus from some areas we can open up to tourism from just those areas. Many of the alternative tourist destinations will be ruled out, so we could get decent numbers despite fewer places to draw tourists from.

Winston’s horse-trading of policies is widely reputed to be the demise of future oil and, particularly, gas exploration, in exchange for Green support of his paranoiac wake-jumping legislation – a decision initially made outside of Cabinet, which considering the Coalition agreed condemnation of UNSC resolution 2334, should have been an anathema to NZ First.

People may dispute this. and I’d welcome a detailed official account of what was proper about the ban.
The industry consultation, the research and prior public discussion that allowed Labour to take over the Greenpeace petition on this, allowing Jacinda’s image on protest post-cards (to be sent to her own Coalition Government), the preparation of major photo blow-up Labour “inpromtu” placards for the Parliament Steps in reception of the petition (Google any photos of the Nazi formatted incident), and Ardern juggling attending that with delaying a state luncheon for a foreign dignitary. Ardern supposedly needed some morale crutch of virtue singling in her first big international trip as new Prime Minister but using the gas ban in fact rubbed the nose of France in it – a country that imports 95% of its methanol because it has none, from natural gas, itself – Ardern utterly wasted her virtual signalling, sort of “lost in translation” – must have left the French trēs puzzlement for quite a while.

Gone in a wasted fucking moment for the French – gas exploration – gone from New Zealand forever.
I’d have thought reinstating proper exploration for a product New Zealand can cleanly supply the world, or use to manufacture hydrogen the normal way (from gas, not water and electricity) is more important than reversing Winston’s paranoiac law which only applies to list members, not electorate members anyway.

Incredible. Megan Woods wants to use hotels in Queenstown, Dunedin and Invercargill for housing NZ’ers in managed isolation and as it turns out the people seem to be coming from India, Korea and Pakistan where Covid is still raging. Someone points out that the isolation procedures have been a shambles and all of a sudden the question isn’t about health and isolation but is racism. Suzy on Moaning Report particularly accusative. I’d like an investigative reporter (scarcer than hen’s teeth these days) to find out the countries that these returning NZ’ers came from who have refused to be contacted after leaving isolation without a test. Probably that’s “racist” somehow….

        Roy. Those defence bases are full of beds, even some 25 at Whenuapai. I have only mentioned a few places. There are many more as you go south.
        My grandson did a LSV course last year, out of Whenuapai. They shacked up somewhere out west, dunno where, but there were about 300 involved.

    It may have something to do with the fact that there are no international tourists in Queenstown and as a result the hotels have been laying off staff and closing down. Ask the average hotel worker which they would prefer; a job or the negligible (to date no cases) chance of infection with a relatively mild illness.

  As it turns out someone told the MP down there that 11,000 people from Korea, Pakistan & India could be quarantined in Dunedin, Invercargill & Queenstown.
  The MP is Hamish Walker whose patch includes neither Dunedin or Invercargill.
  Currently there are c6000 people in managed isolation so to suggest 11,000 are going to the frozen south is a clear exaggeration, maybe for political purposes. (Don’t know why; he has a huge majority in that electorate).
  I’m not sure why he should single out these Asian New Zealanders when there’s no telling who is going anywhere, but his whole message sounds like a dog whistle to me.
  I note on his flyer no indication from whence he received his info. Clearly an ill informed source.
  He finishes off by saying it’s a disgrace that the local community hadn’t been consulted. Well maybe this flyer shows why.

        Yeah, I agree. The idea of AIMs was a bunch of geneticists trying to demonstrate the migration patterns of H. sapiens sapiens out of Africa. It’s had limited generalized success due to our admixed nature. Also, there are some groups (e.g. Native Hawaiians) that refuse to allow AIMs to be developed for various reasons, so we’re missing a bunch of the picture. That they can be used to find even a modicum is also interesting (ahem, E. Warren).

    Dr Stephie, you seem to be at odds with many medical doctors that both prescribe VitD and take it themselves.
    
    There is huge evidence linking VitD to the performance of the immune system. This has not been disputed for at least 50 years.
    
    Lack of VitD is dependent on many factors including those you mentioned, but you missed a few very important ones: location (how much sun you get exposed to), race (melanin in your skin) and age (older people have reduced VitD output).

        Vit D shortages end up causing all sorts of problems. Heck, in some areas black people are even getting rickets!

        Vit D deficiencies in NZ are significant, especially in South Island and among darker skinned, obese and older people.

        Vit D is stored in fat and the natural fat cycle acts (or acted) as a moderator.
        
        In the old days (before food was almost free and plentiful), you’d store fat during summer/autumn along with a lot of that nice summer time VitD. Through winter and spring you’d burn up those fat reserves releasing the Vit D back into your body when you can’t make it due to lack of sun. Sweet, isn’t nature amazeballs.
        
        But then comes almost free abundant food and that natural fat cycle has gone. Now people eat more in winter and tend to get fatter over winter. So Vit D levels are lower in winter and you’re putting down fat so storing away some of that limited VitD, so Vit D goes down further. The cycle is now running in reverse. Bugger. Not surprisingly there is a correlation between obesity and VitD deficiency.

  In NZ we get no UVB rays during winter so you won’t be able to make any vitamin D until Spring. Sun has to be 40 degrees from the horizon. So supplement or sunbed. Your doctor might prescribe it for you if you are particularly concerned.

    Not so sure about that. Perhaps that 40 degrees thing is more related to Northern Hemisphere conditions.
    
    I’ve got a UV sensor that is reacting well to sunlight here in Chch and giving pretty solid reading. Not as high as summer, but still substantial.
    
    This sensor is mainly tuned to UVB and I’m pretty sure it is working properly. If I go outside I get a reading, but no reading if there is glass in the way.
    
    Since glass filters out UVB and not UVA I am fairly confident I’m measuring UVB.

    Guys, Auckland only exists to Aucklanders that live within its urban confines. You must remember that many of these people are not even born and bred Aucklanders, like Mike Hosking.
    
    But this type of phenomenon is not unique to just Auckland, my wife (she is not NZ born) has seen the same in expressed by Wellingtonians about their perceived cafe/food/theatre culture. Then if you live abroad you hear it in the UK/London, Australia/Sydney or Melbourne or the US/LA or NY.
    
    Generally, it is a phenomenon of ignorance based on a perceived urban sophistication versus the country hick. But in reality it is ignorance and arrogance showed by the urban large city dweller and the rest of the population.

Finally I have discovered Cardinal George Pell’s true crime. He is a “climate denier”. You will recall the Cardinal was released from prison in April this year after the High Court of Australia quashed his convictions for sexual offences. In its judgement the Court said,”The High Court found that the jury, acting rationally on the whole of the evidence, ought to have entertained a doubt as to the applicant’s guilt with respect to each of the offences for which he was convicted, and ordered that the convictions be quashed and that verdicts of acquittal be entered in their place”.

Cardinal Pell has been a prominent critic of man made climate zealotry. He has given lectures and written extensively on the matter, noting: “pagan emptiness and fears about nature have led to hysteria and extreme claims about global warming. In the past, pagans sacrificed animals and even humans in vain attempts to placate capricious and cruel gods. Today they demand a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions”.

Clearly the Green Reich could not allow such a prominent and respected community leader to remain in circulation challenging their orthodoxies. If you thought the Greens were simply misguided but well meaning tree-huggers, think again. They pose a serious threat to our freedoms and to civilization as they pursue their vision of a totalitarian dystopia. They are truly “enemies of the people”.

    Sorry, not so forgiving. Woods had spoken to the mayor of Dunedin about the plan. She wouldn’t front the radio, so it was the mayor who was fronting for Woods and started the name calling on Walker. By 8.30am, Hipkins had also called Walker a racist, and there was comment that Woods had also used the phrase. But at no point when given the opportunity, had any of the Labour party ministers or the mayor in Dunedin denied the accuracy of the story.
    
    So the bottom line, had it not been for the.leak from what it appears is Southern DHB, this plan would have started possibly as early as next week.
    
    In this case I go back to what Garner said earlier this week, the borders need to stay shut at this time (even to Kiwis wanting to come back) because as Gluckman has been saying this morning, there is no proper strategy to open the borders and keep those of us here safe.

      Right so a couple of things here too unpack. The first is Breitbart, who are not exactly a reliable source, who are citing the Federalist, which is in turn not citing verified sources. So if we play the same game as some, who say the NYT has not verified the Intel, then this claim must also be bullshit.
      
      However, if we assume it is true and Schiff or his staff were told, then that indicates the Intel was true and verified. The admin and Intel agencies would not brief the gang of eight or members of Congress without having confirmed the Intel AND having told the President. So that’s more proof that the White House has been lying, and hasn’t done it’s job.
      
      Further, I seem to recall a lot of people being mad about Schiff ‘releasing’ classified intel and using it for political purposes, in their view anyway. Well here we have a case of Schiff apparently holding onto presumably classified intel and not using it for political purposes, and now that is apparently the bad thing and the conservatives are all mad at him.
      
      Well, that’s great for them but all it does is confirm their steaming hypocrisy and spineless toadying to Trump. In addition to being a rather shaky straw man argument.
      
      Speaking of Trump, there is still the open question of whether he wasn’t briefed because they knew he would react badly because he’s a coward for Putin’s gain, or he knew and did nothing, which makes him a traitor in addition to being a coward for Putin’s gain.

Plantation forest covers approx 7% of NZ land area. Approx 15% of forest harvest is “slash’.
Harvest residues are particularly high in areas of ‘storm damage’ and those with high levels of stem breakage. In these areas it can be as high as 25%.
Residues as a general rule, are beneficial when well spread over harvest area. Debris flows that entrain cut-over residues are infrequent, but high risk events.
The issue of high volumes of harvest residue moving off-site is complex as they occur infrequently, and with a combination of steeper slopes, erodable soil, and a larger rainfall event (or smaller events but saturated soils].
Biomass use mentioned as a possible solution but often presents logistical difficulties.

My perennial grouch about the modelling of coronaviruses is that all of the modellers were so catastrophically, astronomically wrong that we would have been better off if there was no modelling, they didn’t pretend to an expertise they didn’t possess, and we were left to muddle our own way through.

We could not possibly have done worse than those clowns. For New Zealand – yes, Hendy, Siouxsie, & the Prime Minister’s telephone BFs in London whom she herself claims persuaded her to lockdown – I’m looking at people like you. You need to face disciplinary action in whatever ‘discipline’ it is that you claim(ed) to have expertise in, and be struck off, and never again be rewarded with a cent of taxpayers’ money until after the heat death of the universe.

    Well dg, since you ask, because I have worked on the ground/on the spot through SARS, swine flu, avian flu, and two separate Ebola epidemics. I’ve looked after cases, flown them to better care when feasible, and advised them, their families and their employers where relevant. I have also been professionally involved since January in the clinical and transport responses to this year’s Xivirus.
    
    And with that background and on the ground experience in mind, in February I wrote politely and in detail to the PM, the MOH, and the Opposition with my recommendations and reasoning – primarily for much more careful pre-flight history and examination assessments, after-landing assessments and quarantine, and to quickly and widely test, test and keep testing so we get ahead of the curve not just keep up with it. To my entire unsurprise, no response – other than in one case (Ardern Central) the pro-forma acknowledgement.
    
    Now, on the internet everyone can be who they say they are. So I would not have put the above online except that you specifically asked why anyone would want to consult me – so I’ll take you at your word. You don’t need to believe it of course, but over many years a considerable number of people have not only consulted me but even paid me for it – and come back for more :-).

  I knew then that she is now officially beneath my contempt.
  
  I won’t go on with a big write up – but sufficient to say that whenever you hear a politician talking about “tax” and “fair” in the same sentence you just know 1. they’re lying to you 2. they’ve got no other argument so they resort to emotion and 3. they’re saying that the current amounts extracted from NZers is therefore unfair and 4. that next time they find it opportune they’ll announce that a new rate is “fair” ignoring the fact that but a short while ago it was a quite different rate that was “fair.”
  
  What also sickens me is that no journalist will go hard at her/them and get them to define once and for all what they define as “fair” so at least NZers can have transparency.
  
  Of course, she will refuse to answer it, but if she gave an honest answer I would be amazed if she said the top tax rate would be any less than 60%. Davidson will be up around 75% would be my pick – she displays that much economic lunacy.

What the media is not reporting about Joe Biden. A vote for Biden is a vote for Obama’s plan, and Cory Booker’s plan to get rid of the suburbs. And not this is not conspiratorial rhetoric. It means the end of zoning for single-family houses.

I’ve been studying Joe Biden’s housing plans, and what I’ve seen is both surprising and frightening. I expected that a President Biden would enforce the Obama administration’s radical AFFH (Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing) regulation to the hilt. That is exactly what Biden promises to do. By itself, that would be more than enough to end America’s suburbs as we’ve known them, as I’ve explained repeatedly here at NRO.

What surprises me is that Biden has actually promised to go much further than AFFH. Biden has embraced Cory Booker’s strategy for ending single-family zoning in the suburbs and creating what you might call “little downtowns” in the suburbs. Combine the Obama-Biden administration’s radical AFFH regulation with Booker’s new strategy, and I don’t see how the suburbs can retain their ability to govern themselves.

Obama’s radical AFFH regulation puts every part of progressives’ “abolish the suburbs” strategy into effect (as I explain in detail here). Once Biden starts to enforce AFFH the way Obama’s administration originally meant it to work, it will be as if America’s suburbs had been swallowed up by the cities they surround. They will lose control of their own zoning and development, they will be pressured into a kind of de facto regional-revenue redistribution, and they will even be forced to start building high-density low-income housing. The latter, of course, will require the elimination of single-family zoning. With that, the basic character of the suburbs will disappear. At the very moment when the pandemic has made people rethink the advantages of dense urban living, the choice of an alternative will be taken away.

That’s all bad enough. But on top of AFFH, Biden now plans to use Cory Booker’s strategy for attacking suburban zoning. AFFH works by holding HUD’s Community Development Block Grants hostage to federal-planning demands. Suburbs won’t be able to get the millions of dollars they’re used to in HUD grants unless they eliminate single-family zoning and densify their business districts. AFFH also forces HUD-grant recipients to sign pledges to “affirmatively further fair housing.” Those pledges could get suburbs sued by civil-rights groups, or by the feds, if they don’t get rid of single-family zoning. The only defense suburbs have against this two-pronged attack is to refuse HUD grants. True, that will effectively redistribute huge amounts of suburban money to cities, but if they give up their HUD grants at least the suburbs will be free of federal control.

The Booker approach — now endorsed by Biden — may block even this way out. Booker wants to hold suburban zoning hostage not only to HUD grants, but to the federal transportation grants used by states to build and repair highways. It may be next to impossible for suburbs to opt out of those state-run highway repairs. Otherwise, suburban roads will deteriorate and suburban access to major arteries will be blocked. AFFH plus the Booker plan will leave America’s suburbs with no alternative but to eliminate their single-family zoning and turn over their planning to the feds. Slowly but surely, suburbs will become helpless satellites of the cities they surround, exactly as progressive urbanists intend.

Sometime in the future the government of the day is going to have to consider reviewing the situation at the border; almost certainly starting with an arrangement with Australia.
A few weeks ago the goal seemed to be an imminent conjunction with Oz.
The current situation in Victoria is a setback. Other states want little to do with those people; why should we until they get under control.
The last thing most of want is for the virus to take off again.
My impression is that the Fyfe, Clark, Gluckman group is intentionally or unintentionally preparing the public for a move to the next level on behalf of the government.

Why on earth would they, after our PM has been slagging off Scott Morrison on various issues since he was elected. Surely the ozzies would prefer that their citizens spent their vacation funds within their own country, for the same reasons that we won’t let our public holiday into the South Pacific while we are heavily subsidising certain players in our tourism industry.
Same applies with our complaints of the US stockpiling the medicines. Maybe if we had been civil to Trump rather than childishly mocked him, we could simply ask to share their resource in this time of need?
These people running the country, who the majority of us did not vote for, are consistently proving how wise we actually were not to vote for them. Let’s hope it works out for the majority next election.

Their figures appear to be close to the gold standard for testing.

      For literally ages we have practised quarantine in the not-Ardernian sense: people with infectious diseases such as hepatitis B in the old days yeah verily even in NZ, plus yellow fever and tuberculosis and cholera for millennia to name a few, were all quarantined away from the healthy.
      
      This time round with the Chivirus, it would be a reverse quarantine – barrier nursing and barrier care w/PPE to protect those over the seventh decade and/or those with significant comorbidities. So, not imprisonment of the majority as we have seen on lockdown, but isolation and protection of the minority. Because, they wouldn’t be locked in, we already know that outside in fresh air with breezes etc and sufficient distance equals an almost 0 risk of transmission.
      
      Instead of trashing the economy and spending billions and still having hundreds of deaths and thousands of casualties from the effects of your lockdown and fearfulness, you maintain the economy and spend millions on screening, tracing, isolation, protection and – for the people who wish it – seclusion.

        It is an untenable approach because of politics, ethics, legality and we’ve already been in isolation. Do you really think all the over 50s will take one for the team and go back to isolation now?

LOL, after the mayor of the District of Columbia painted “Black Lives Matter” on her street it set a precedent of sorts. Now Judicial Watch is suing her to be able to paint their own message, seeing at how the streets are maintained with public funds.

But in doing so, she also established a precedent of sorts. Public streets in the nation’s capital that are maintained using taxpayer funds were now apparently legitimate for the expression of political opinions.

Taking that signal to heart, Judicial Watch decided to get in on the action themselves. They sent in a request to paint another street in the same area with their own slogan. Strangely, despite multiple attempts to prompt a response from the Mayor, they were unable to obtain permission to do the same thing she had done. Seeing no other recourse, the group is now taking the Mayor to court to ensure their own right to free expression under the First Amendment. Let’s all break out the popcorn and see how this one plays out.

The group is pointing out that the Mayor has obviously determined that the painting of expressive messages on city streets is a method of expression protected under the First Amendment. Bowser has failed to provide a persuasive answer (or any answer, really) as to why the group can’t paint a corresponding message on a different street. She’s also demonstrating obvious government favoritism of one message over another.

  Tip of the iceberg, Maggy. Those are the ones with Jobseeker benefits and the unemployment relief payment, the latter being for people who have lost their job due to Covid. There are still in excess of 1.5 million people technically employed, whose employers are receiving the wage subsidy. God alone knows how many of them will slide onto one or other of the unemployment benefits when the subsidy stops, but it will be a lot.

    A woman who’s been in quarantine in Auckland for two weeks after returning from overseas has spoken of the “emotional” moment she met Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern after arriving back in Wellington.
    Kate Catalinac, who’s been keeping a Facebook diary of her experience in quarantine, rounded out her diary in the perfect way after she bumped into Ardern in Wellington Airport on Thursday.

    “High on freedom, I flew from Auckland to Wellington. Upon touchdown I received an urgent text from my sister – alerting me that she had a visual on Jacinda proceeding on foot to the Wellington Koru lounge wearing a grey backpack,” Catalinac said on Facebook. “After defibrillating myself, I too proceeded on foot to the Wellington Koru lounge.”
    
    Catalinac told her Facebook friends of the moment she came across the Prime Minister.
    
    “Then, like a shimmering mirage, she appeared. In an expertly chosen jewel-tone coat and aforementioned grey backpack, the woman from my laptop screensaver was walking towards me.”
    
    Catalinac said she “blacked out” before she started having a conversation with Ardern, before the Prime Minister revealed she had been reading her blog.
    
    “Physically I was still standing. Emotionally I had exploded into 1000 tiny kittens now swirling around the ankles of everyone at the airport.”
    
    She said she then asked the Prime Minister for a photo.
    
    “Her reply, ‘Oh of course – you’ve got to round out the blog’,” Catalinac wrote.

    She said she proceeded to thank Ardern before they parted ways.
    
    “Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, you are truly the sweetest slice of the day.

  Here are a few of the diary entries: Image of an open computer with screen saver of Jacinda Arderns’ vogue photoshoot image next to a brownie and Kate lying on the bed.. Kate says,”Sweet slice of the day: traditional brownie with icing sugar dusting, enjoyed with one of my regular-but-imaginary chats with a goddess. ” She is looking at the computer so we assume the imaginary chat is with goddess Jacinda.
  
  Entry 2: “The Ministry of Health workers who administered my Covid-19 test on day three may have been covered by their head-to-toe, powder blue PPE, but their kind hearts were very much exposed.”
  
  Or this one, “From the moment I boarded my AirNZ flight from LAX, it was clear to me that I was in the sanitized-but-moisturized hands of a country with a very solid plan.”
  
  Or, “If you’re complaining in any way about the New Zealand Government’s managed isolation plan, I assume you are incorrectly wearing your Covid-19 mask over your eyes. ”
  
  Every day is a plug for the government and Jacinda. And on the final day’s post ….magic she runs into Jacinda at the Koru lounge for a photo. It reads like a professionals influencer’s plug. Hard to believe this doesn’t need a promoters statement!

Just for the record…caning the Southland MP for his “racist” press release is total bullshit…of course 11,000 returning “kiwis” from Covid infested shit holes like the sub-continent give rise to a damn sight more justified concern than the same number of people from the UK or Australia.

I’ll go further…anyone half a brain will be more anxious about being followed down the street late at night by two Maori males rather than two Euro males…just as you’d be more anxious if it was two males of any race rather than two females…although women have been known to bash people too…just much less often.

But Queenstown Lakes District Councillor Dr Valerie Miller, who is also a senior GP at the Wakatipu Medical Centre, said Walker was just doing his job by trying to keep the community safe.

Why would anyone in Auckland want the Greens to be anywhere near power.
It means that half the home owners in Auckland, once you add their other assets to this, will exceed the $1 mill. and be liable for the 1% wealth tax.
Whats more, this will apply to rest of the country before their 3 yr term will ave ended.

Ardern starting the vote buying plan letting temp visa permit holders back in to NZ, quarantine paid by long standing tax payers. I heard a report on Newstalk zb tonight about an argentinian woman who had a child in NZ, who is in Bali. Now allowed to return to NZ.
Has she been collecting the NZ wage subsidy over in Bali? Just wondering will she be allowed to vote at the next election? Just saying.

Just wish it was as easy to get all the benefits in Australia, UK, Europe and US (hope it comes right…) as a NZ temp worker. I guess they aren’t as generous as the good old NZ Labour and CoL.

Also the millions of dollars allocated to schools to chase up truants is a joke. Total overkill and won’t contribute to getting NZ back on it’s feet economically. Will buy a lot of teachers votes. But I guess most teachers vote Labour anyway.
