For days after the Falloon saga our juvenile media ran hit stories on him and National. On the day after Stuff had five separate stories – all negative – running at once.
No surprises that today they have just one story on Lees-Galloway, buried well down overwhelmed by a ‘nothing’ piece on Scott Guy and other braindead fodder.

  Funny innit , how the Media party are among the biggest promoters of the ‘Give Cover to Pollies who Bang Away ‘ are also the same people who are so vociferously adamant that Joe Pleb loses his livelihood over such heinous crimes as having an opinion other than that which is approved.

    As I informed Stuff during one of their opinion polls when they asked for “honest feedback”, I find their “woker-than-thou” SJW attitudes pretty off-putting. Strangely enough, I don’t particularly appreciate being lectured sternly by a bunch of woke activist snowflakes, when all I’m looking for is the news and current affairs, preferably presented in an open honest and impartial fashion. So Stuff is generally at the bottom of my go-to list, and I have managed to get quite good at avoiding the vast majority of click-bait headlines and skimming over the “it’s time for another LECTURE on how privileged/racist/sexist/white our society is and why it’s ALL YOUR FAULT as a straight white male”-type articles.
    
    Means I very rarely have to even go to the bother of scrolling past Alison Mau’s diatribes.

  Interesting Tomtoddy but is just a continuation of controlling the narrative by the MSM. While it continues to be challenge to “listen” the PTPM it does let us catch some little gems that are inserted by her. After the rushed press conference yesterday the questions were quickly shut down with a new fob off. That other questions would be likely answered “on the tiles” which provided a bit of a chuckle from this listener. Especially after she appeared to avoid any such confrontation “on the tiles” after the bombshell. It was left to Judith Collins to have another chance to confirm the honest answer to a direct question on the AM Show in her usual short sharp manner. The only follow on was that it had been passed on the the PM by email to the PM’s supplied contact provided after question time on Tuesday. Which was the time Judith Collins made her aware that the issue had been sent to her by a complainant.
  The MSM have all added their own slant to this but it is no big challenge to follow the facts when reviewed in sequence. Game, set and match.

      Where your Judith Collins/dirty politics story comes unstuck is in the timing MCos. By the time Collins went on with Garner yesterday morning, Lees-Galloway Was already 12 hours post-sacking, and had been sent home by the PM to tell his family about his infidelity before Ardern told the public.
      
      It wouldn’t surprise me if Garner got a word from the same people who told media about Falloon’s transgressions; someone in the PM’s media team, whose tentacles reach deeply into the New Zealand media. Who knows, it may have even been the same staffer who told a journalist to ask the PM about the Easter Bunny at a Covid presser, allowing the PM to deliver a prepared answer.

    I had to laugh when Ardern said that she wasn’t moralising about the affair and that the reason he had to go was that he fell short of the professional standards she expected of a minister.

      An affair, whilst an MP is hardly a sackable event, it is unwise, but it happens. However when it is with someone that reports to you and you have the power to destroy their career, that’s not ok. When there is a power imbalance, it is definitely not ok – and i think this applies not just to politics, but in business etc too.
      
      This whole ‘affair’ is hardly going to impact the public much. The way this was dealt with will ensure that it fades from attention pretty quickly.
      
      It’s not really on the same level as Falloon with a Police investigation in toe, which will ensure that the story will continue surface in the coming weeks and months.

      Should voluntarily retire: yes, because he can hardly hold his head up in the community anymore for the reasons you describe (family).
      
      But be fired by the leader: only if he really had power over the woman and that makes consent very questionable.
      
      The leader of a party shouldn’t be moralising to the extent of firing someone for having an affair in 2020. ‘Let him who is without sin cast the first stone’ comes to mind.

      doggone this is 2020. Lange set a low bar in the late 1980s when he had an affair with his speech writer while still married to Naomi, who was raising their 3 children. Prior to Lange, there have been others too, on both sides and involving affairs with colleagues and staff alike.
      
      While we would like to believe that we all have expectations as to the standards set and morals of our parliamentarians, we have to accept that in this secular world, morals & standards are to paraphrase Groucho Marx, easily expendable, depending on the audience.
      
      I am not saying I find this acceptable, but it is too late to start moralizing as Ardern did yesterday.
      
      I do not believe the consensual affair, or the status of each of the parties in the affair was the reason for ILG’s sacking and announcement of his retirement. As others have pointed out, Ardern has had more reason to sack others in her cabinet (including ILG), but has chosen not to.
      
      Had the affair been the reason behind this, Ardern would said to Collins “thank you and what are you going to do about it?” Instead we have this tale of a late night meeting, Collins slipping the news out, & a hastily arranged 11.00am news conference and news that ILG is walking away after the election.
      
      That is all too easy. There must be more to it and Ardern must be living in fear that the truth will “leak” eventually. Not a world of morals at all.

    NZ may hold much higher moral standards, but if I was to go through one particular federal bench a few years back In Australia, I could have counted all being sacked under the bonking rule except a few I could count on my left hand.
    Impregnating the Governor Generals daughter whilst married wasn’t a bad effort.
    This is just bullshit all smoke and mirrors, there will be a powder keg waiting to be discovered.
    His political career is his decision not Arderns, she has the say in the Labour Party but he can stand as independent.
    Never start a war based on morality, both sides will come unstuck and no one will win.
    Hormones, promotions, and living the high life will always win the day.
    Private life is either private life for all, but it appears the press now decide what will be public and what stays private.
    And of course, the other really sad aspect is that all will be silenced by threat of litigation in this day and age.
    Not one person can now say what is really on their mind except as a pseudo and even that is debatable.
    You get what you vote for in this world.
    Free speech is dying very rapidly.

  Neither Falloon or the Lees-Galloway were sacked as MPs.
  The former was prevailed upon to resign, which is one degree away from being sacked, but as we’ve seen with J-L Ross one degree ain’t close enough.
  The latter was sacked as minister and chose not to stand again for whatever reason.
  
  As we know from past experience, including the current LOTO, demotion from the cabinet isn’t the end of the world.

      It’s the people of the electorate who put the MP in Parliament.
      Sort of.
      They have no say in who the main contenders are unless they belong to their parties, of course. So they are given a couple of people to chose between with not recall option if the winner is a turkey.
      If the turkey is chucked out of the party (J-L Ross) the party can get rid of them . . . . & the electorate can have another crack.

      The worst thing of all yesterday was a chorus of objections from Peters and his goons (and I use that term deliberately) when Seymour asked for leave to make a personal explanation after Peters’ speech. National subsequently forfeited its final slot in the General Debate to enable Seymour to have a right of reply.

        The people he names can deny they dunnit in the most strident terms, but that’s all they can do, unless I suppose, someone else admits it was them.

    I don’t think there is any recourse for members of the public who have been falsely named by a MP while under the cover of Parliamentary privilege.
    
    As we saw yesterday, David Seymour had to withdraw and apologise for calling Winston Peters a liar.
    
    Hence we must conclude either:
    1. Winston isn’t a liar, or
    2. Parliament is protecting a liar

Being no prude, but have we ever witnessed our parliament in such a disgraceful state? Over the current term we have seen Ministers removed for physically assaulting a staff member, lying about secret meetings over RNZ, being totally useless (Twyford), and now having an inappropriate affair with a staff member.
Added to the above is the speaker of the house being sued for deformation after accusing a parliamentary services employee of being a ‘rapist’ and a senior person in the PM’s office having to move on after allegations of sexual misconduct towards another junior staff member.
If you include the government’s failure in meeting many of their key election promises from the last election, captains calls on closing down a major industry like oil & gas, and the appalling handling of the measles epidemic and meningitis debacle in Northland you really have to wonder what the hell are they doing – And all the above has occurred under Ardern’s watch, yet she is hailed as some type of saviour. Time to wake up folks and put some adults back in charge before we totally lose our collective respectability.

  Personal behaviour aside, people like Twyford and Clark simply do not have the ability to get things done. In fact I would include the PM in that statement given the total failure on child poverty. Housing and child poverty (and transparency) were the flag ships and they are all at the bottom of the sea.
  
  Ministers like Key, Joyce, Ryall, and English are uncommon. And there are literally none in the current Government that are anywhere near the ability of those four to actually deliver. Small example I know, but Twyford as Transport Minister revealed that he had never visited the Transmission Gully site, the most complex transport project under construction, or had any conversation with the people doing the work about how things were coming along and whether there was anything he could do.

  As I have said before about Hollywood movie stars, singers, sports stars, etc, being in Parliament does not confer morals or nobility on someone. The people who work in Parliament are no better than the rest of us in the country. We seem to think of them as “up there” and somehow being more moral or honorable (the title they confer upon themselves).
  
  In reality, they are no better or worse than any other Kiwi you meet in the street – some are good people, some are ratbags. However, politics these days seems to attract more of the latter: those who want to shape the world to their own perverted image. Unhappy people who don’t like the way the world is so they gravitate to politics, or teaching in a university, or to the media where they can push laws in accord with their ideology or shape innocent minds.

Heard the two members of the “Odd” Couple Club better known as the Sopers . The senior one commenting on the deflowering of Lees- Galloway Immigration Minister installed under the auspices of Winston Peters after the ill fated decision by
him to select the Labour/Greens Partys’ when the Majority of the country wanted a National Government.
Well when the news filtered through that another of his selection named Ardern as NZs PM was about to fire Lees-Galloway the battle hardened Senior Soper from the Odd Couple Club more or less said he has seen it all before .
Alas the junior Sober member of the Odd Couple Club made a meal of the whole sacking and deflowering of the mentioned waste of space rat bag Labour Party MP .
Wee flap jaw Junior Sober appeared to blame Judith Collins for directing the complainant to the right Person to handle it Miss Ardern . Well and good most people would agree that that was the right decision .
Except we should not forget that Junior Sober from the Odd Couple Club is employed by the same people who print the NZ “toilet paper” Herald the anti National Party newspaper outlet . Nuff Said.

Winston Peters – alleged Rachel Morton heard about his superannuation details because she was present when former National minister Anne Tolley told her colleague Paula Bennett about it.

Winston’s court – action was taken against State Services Commissioner Peter Hughes, former Ministry of Social Development head Brendan Boyle and former National ministers Anne Tolley and Paula Bennett.
Following the two-week hearing, Justice Venning found that although Peters’ privacy was breached, he had failed to establish that any of the named defendants were responsible for the leak.

So Winston has used Parliamentary privilege to declare that Justice Venning is wrong regarding those involved in the leak – Tolley and Bennett.

And Winston’s source, the person who leaked to him that according to him or her, Rachel Morton was conduit of information Tolley gave Bennett. How did she or he learn of it, why then did Winston’s source sit on it until after the court case, why did that person tell him at all, back on May 20 – Winston Peters says leak details came from media: ‘We, and others, know who the leak is’ (RNZ) – and why did Winston announce this information yesterday under privilege?

Tuned into QT yesterday. Was hoping to catch a glimpse of Sarah Dowie’s latest outfit but she seemed to be absent from the House unfortunately. Must say though, Jacinda’s looking absolutely fab. What really gets my twat in a knot, is having to watch while that Tamati Coffey stands to ask all those same old pansy questions to the Minister of Finance. He does it every sitting day. They’re always sooo predictable and boring. I’m actually sure Grant probably writes them himself.

Is it just me or have these two been casualties of leaders trying to prove how tough they are?

One sends a rude picture to a young lady he fancies. More stupid than bad. I cannot see how anyone was harmed.

The other has a consentual year long affair with someone who works under him. Workplace romance are very common and the fact that it went for a year suggests that everyone knew what they were in for.

  I have a 23 year old daughter – if a guy sent her a rude picture she would either laugh or slap him. Would she ask me to sort it out? NO.
  
  As for the other guy, workplace romances are a thing and so are “affairs”. But the power imbalance between a Minister and a junior public servant (which I am guessing she was) is so big that such a liaison is at least – very unwise. Should he have been sacked? I think he was sacked because Judith Collins knew and the PM was embarrassed. If ILG had told Jacinda 6, 12 months ago she would not have sacked him. She might have said “It is not wise, and if you ever embarrass me you are gone”

Someone on this blog also said it was photoshopped with the face of an mp. So It sounds like the intent was gutter political humour . Still gross and unprofessional but would not be the same intent as what was initially wrongly stated (without apology by the media) that he was sending port to children
    Interesting that they give no details on the age of ILG’s lady friend. The fact they seem to want to drive home their was it was consensual. But again without the detail of how it affected their workplace it’s hard to say.

It’s possible but seems unlikely that he got fired as a minister just for the horizontal waltz with a different dance partner. More likely is that the taxpayer has been funding the mechanisms of seduction and insertion on the country’s time – and that would righteously exercise a lot of people who have had their wages and salaries removed and their jobs ripped away while we see the public servants having neither of the sort.

  heavy tax disincentive not to get paid the higher rate.
  I can’t understand how a very high income earner who was paid the higher super

    In the interests of accuracy, the guy who wrote that letter was the President of the Fraternal Order of Police, ie the police union – not the Superintendent of Police. The FOP is a highly politicised union and constantly in battles with the Republican Mayor (and previous such Mayors). It has no status in running the Police Force, nor in the line of command between the Mayor and the Police Superintendent. In other words, its letter to Trump is a political ploy.

I have been thinking about the events of the last couple of days.

It seems to me that National has been the winner out of all this.

Firstly, they have forced Cindy into a “damned if you do or don’t” situation. If she didn’t sack Lees-Galloway, she would have appeared weak compared to Collins.

But now that she has sacked Lees-Galloway she has set a very low bar for sacking an MP.

It is likely that other Government MPs have offended in a similar way. So, if National can find similar dirt on other government MPs then Jacinda may have no option but to sack them also in order to be consistent.

Secondly, Collins has invited Cindy into a mud wrestling contest with her.

This would be of no surprise so far as Collins goes. Hence won’t damage her brand. But Cindy has an image she has fostered of being saintly, and above all this sort of stuff.

So, if Labour want to preserve Cindy’s saintly image, they will have to become a punching bag for National and just endure all the attacks. But if they get down and dirty then Cindy”s halo is going to suffer a few dents and slip down a bit.

Also, Cindy is going to appear weak if she refuses to engage with Collins.

Jacinda again in Parliamentary Question tim yesterday trying to fabricate the truth out her graph to rebut the National Leader Judith Collins. The Labour Leader Leader Jacinda Ardern is the first to criticize other when she is asked where are these infrastructure that will help our people stay in jobs that were announced to help get over COVID-19, and to show graphs of what you say has has been more than National have done in infrastructure, then say that Judith Collins the National Leader is “oversimplifying the issue” and the Goverment needs to do it due diligence before beginning any infrastructure projects is bullshit. So Jacinda Grant Robertson has had from the beginning of March when he announced the projects to do due diligence and now it is the end of July so like usually and similar to the border situation you are all talk with very little substance and again using lies to get re-elected.

Ive been thinking about NZ and Taiwan and Covid. So by my numbers Taiwan which is an island but very close to the epicentre had 7 deaths with 25 million people. I make that 0.28 deaths per million.

NZ had 22 deaths and 5 million so 4.4 deaths per million. NZ is also an island but far away from the epicentre.

And Taiwan didnt shut down its economy where NZ did.

I have also thought about the Health & Safety aspects having been responsible for H&S in a large corporation with many dangers that could result in workplace death.

The principles of H&S are to identify the risk and either eliminate or mitigate the risk.

With Covid IMHO there were 2 risks known from the outset.’
‘1. The virus originated offshore NOT in NZ.
2. The virus killed the old and those with certain health conditions.

So those were the risks.

So to mitigate the steps were to stop as many people as possible crossing the border and to isolate the old and those with health conditions.

The spread of the virus was known at least in January. Yet it took until mid March to take action at the border.

Many of the deaths took place in small nursing homes. That was always going to be the risk point as they dont have the resources to protect the staff and residents like the corporate retirement villages who didnt suffer any deaths.

NZ didnt go early and hard it went late and weak. We should have had no deaths and very few cases and the economy should have been open throughout.
The Government and the Health Department failed to plan and planned to fail and they did spectacularly on the basis of the Taiwan numbers and situation.

The Spin Doctors have conned the sheeple by first spreading fear and then spreading bullshit.

And the sheeple have believed them. More fool them.

    Taiwan had an excellent system already in place for combating a pandemic. This was established after the earlier SARS epidemic.

  It took at least 18 days to do its next 780 tests to reach it s first 1,000 tests.
  That was neither hard or early.
  Still yesterday Hipkins used the slogan “hard and early” three times is one statement.

The PM can choose personal staff, press officers, some secretaries, private household staff, such as housekeepers and nannies, and his or her spouse or partner, one imagines, but can only influence the choice of the Cabinet. Apparently dismissing Cabinet members for cause is allowed, as he or she can dismiss staff such as a housekeeper or nanny, and a spouse or partner.

GDP per capita, now behind Australia and the UK, is on a slide, and overly fast population growth is the cause.

There was discussion in a couple of comment threads earlier this morning about members of the public having a right of reply to statements made about them under parliamentary privilege. This is covered by Standing Orders 159 – 162:

RESPONSES
159 Application for response

(1) A person (not a member) who has been referred to in the House by name, or in such a way as to be readily identifiable, may apply to the Speaker in writing—

(a) claiming to have been adversely affected by the reference or to have suffered damage to that person’s reputation as a result of the reference, and
(b) submitting a response to the reference, and
(c) requesting that the response be incorporated in the parliamentary record.

(2) An application must be made within three months of the reference having been made.

(3) Any response must be succinct and strictly relevant to the reference that was made. It must not contain anything offensive in character.

160 Consideration by Speaker

(1) The Speaker considers whether in all the circumstances of the case the response should be incorporated in the parliamentary record.

(2) In that consideration, the Speaker—

(a) may confer with the person who made the application and with the member who referred to that person in the House, and
(b) takes account of the extent to which the reference is capable of adversely affecting, or damaging the reputation of, the person making the application.

(3) The Speaker is not to consider or judge the truth of the reference made in the House or of the response to it.

161 Speaker decides against incorporation

If the Speaker decides that the response should not be incorporated in the parliamentary record, the Speaker must inform the person concerned that no further action will be taken.

(1) A response that the Speaker determines should be incorporated in the parliamentary record is presented to the House and is published under the authority of the House.

(2) The Speaker may decide that a response should be incorporated in the parliamentary record after the person has amended it in a manner approved by the Speaker.

It is entirely the decision of the Speaker as to whether a person who believes they have been unfairly referred to in the House can gain some recourse. It certainly doesn’t happen often, and I can only recall one such example in the last ten or so years.

However the mechanism is there for any of those falsely accused by Winston Peters yesterday of being involved in the leaking of his pension overpayment details, provided they can satisfy Speaker Mallard that such a response is justified.

How the U.S media are flat out lying about covid numbers –

Here’s a typical report, from USA Today a few days ago: “As the outbreak continues to surge across the southern states, Florida, Texas and South Carolina set records for new daily deaths, reporting 156, 129 and 69, respectively.”

ABC News reported that “Nineteen states set single-day records for the most cases this week … Three states set a record today.”

According to PBS in Arizona, the state “on Saturday (July 18) set a record for coronavirus-related deaths reported in one day, with 147, according to the Arizona Department of Health Services.”

The last story is particularly illuminating because the website the PBS article links to includes a chart of daily deaths in the state. It lists only three deaths on July 19. What’s more, the chart shows that there hasn’t been a single day in the state where deaths exceeded 65.

So where did that scary 147 number come from? The same place all the other “surging” numbers come from. Each day Arizona and other states file reports on how many people died from COVID-19. It’s not a measure of how many died that day. In most cases, the people died days or even weeks earlier.

In fact, in Arizona’s case, 106 of the reported deaths on Saturday resulted from a periodic review of death certificates.

None of those caveats made it into the PBS story.

The same thing happened in Florida, when a wave of news reports screamed about how the state had recorded 156 deaths in one day last week.

“The grim milestones come quickly in the Sunshine State,” CNN reported. “The Florida Department of Health reported 156 new coronavirus-related deaths on Thursday, the most yet in a 24-hour period.”

Yet Florida’s health department reports only 59 deaths that day. The most deaths occurring in a single day in the state is 99.

In California, meanwhile, the Los Angeles Times told its readers Tuesday that “for the weeklong period that ended Monday, 674 deaths were reported in California, the highest weekly total to date. In the previous seven-day period, 640 people died, which had also been a weekly record; the week before that, 474 died.”

The CDC, however, reports that it knows of only 48 people who died from COVID-19 in California last week, 276 the week before that, and 476 two weeks ago.

Nationwide, it’s the same story.

The media seem to be dishonestly reporting a cumulative sum, or running total, not the actual numbers of deaths per week.

I remember when

Government considers Maori tender rights in $42b contracting spend.
Maori Development Minister Nanaia Mahuta wants a portion of these contracts set aside for Maori only tenders.
This would raise some interesting questions:
How and who would set the contract price?
Where does the capital come from so the Maori contractors have the equipment to compete for the contracts?
Would they be excluded from competing for the contracts for the remaining 84% on the contract total?

The iwi wants to see more Te Arawa run businesses employing its people locally.
The Vision highlights a Te Arawa parliament and bank, its own Silicon Valley, and restored wai and whenua for descendants by 2050.
The document, which has been one and a half years in the making, was launched at Te Puia on Sunday.

  Te Arawa have 26 entities – companies etc – registered as charities.
  
  Tribes are following Ngai Tahu in group registering their businesses as charities.
  
  This means they don’t have to pay company tax on any profit.

        A company can donate all its profits to charity and have the exact same tax result as an Iwi (or any) charitable company. The key question is whether those charitable companies use their profits for charitable purposes.

        Isn’t the position that companies can get tax credits (with a limitation) on donations to organisations with donee tax status, and practically all organisations with this donee status are registered charities?
        
        The position remains that the church that owns the big food business, Sanitarium Products, and several Maori tribes run their businesses under group registration as charities. This exempts them from paying company tax.
        
        Companies can also use imputation credits to pass on to shareholders compensation for tax paid. This prevents double taxation. However, company tax will initially be paid up front.

        Jack, as I said a company simply has to donate all its profit to a charity it then has no tax to pay as charitable donations are a deductible expense. It also then has no profit to give to its shareholders. A registered charitable group (including companies) may only use its profits for charitable purposes, it is the enforcement of this that is the only relevant matter. Advancement of religion, relief of poverty, advancement of education or other purposes beneficial to the community. Personally don’t agree with some of those purposes but they have a lot of case law to back them and were confirmed under the Charities Act 2005.

This would be about the twentieth time I have this from Political or Financial journalists, and is, to borrow a phrase, demonstrably baseless.
In 2017 National ran a successful line that Labour would increase tax rates to pay for their extravagant (and eventually fanciful) promises.
Grant Robertson committed to holding a Tax Review Working Group, and any changes to come out of that would be taken to the 2020 election before implementation, for the people to decide.
Well, the Tax Group recommended CGT. Labour could have adopted this for 2020, and in fact would be in a very happy position of at least having a plan to fund their promises, and asking National ‘Yes but how will you pay for it ?’ every time the Opposition made a spending pledge.
Fortunately for National, neither Ardern, nor Robertson were capable of understanding and selling the new tax, so they enlisted an ageing and unwell Michael Cullen. Cullen was solid, but not well liked and certainly not the person to sell a bright new future. There must have been other contendors, eg Deborah Morris, but we now know Ardern is not one to promote or trust new talent, so in a move that she and her followers must now deeply regret, she scuttled the tax as ‘not on my watch’.
So, NZ First had no say in whether Labour took CGT to the electorate in 2020. It is probably useful for Labour and NZF to claim otherwise, but the fact is Labour was too timid and incompetent to follow through their 2017 agenda.

Christchurch City Council, the ratepayer-screwing entrepreneur …

First millions locked up in a secret jet-engine reconditioning plant, which will no doubt be hit by the crash of world tourism.

Second, the city’s three-quarter owned Christchurch International Airport, has spent $45 million in buying land at Tarras, Central Otago, so that in five to 15 years on building an airport to service Queenstown, which already as an airport that in a few years may be too small.

Taking the project to its first operational stage, able to handle a million passengers a year – about the same as Queenstown Airport – would be a $350 million to $400 million investment.

Malcolm Johns, chief executive of Christchurch International Airport, says the investment was the decision of the company board, but the shareholders – Christchurch City Council and the Government – were kept in the picture.

Future labour policy or at least advice for MPs on how to not get caught having an affair

The Canadian government released a 16-page safety document online this week on how to best avoid the spread of coronavirus after lockdown.

One of its most notable tips? To use glory holes when having sex.

The British Colombian Centre for Disease Control advises that when partaking casual sex during the pandemic, people utilise “barriers, like walls (eg: glory holes), that allow for sexual contact but prevent close face-to-face contact”.

JC shifts Falloon aside, having agreed with him that it’s a mental health issue, something he repeats. That is clearly the first plan.
When the next day other accusation emerge JC’s concern is turned attack which is yet to stop. If he was having mental health issues they are no longer relevant by her consideration. She reveals things which are prejudical to his right of due process and comments freely as the week continues that he has been untruthful and indirectly says he is a serial offender.
A number of Nat MPs were interiewed about Falloon and all sing almost identically from the same song sheet about Falloon’s alleged behaviour. Not one comments that there is a police investigation, or point out that there may be privacy issues. Nobody sticks up for him, mentions the stress of the job and that they don’t want to judge him. His “team” of a week ago is kicking the heck out of him.
Collins gets info on ILG and tells the PM before speaking to the press about it. ILG is already gone JA having sacked him from his Minister’s role. On paper he has done something many others have done. His family, like that of Falloon, are put in a bad position. He is not attacked by his own party. But politically the 2 men and their families have become political waste.

  I’ve been disgusted by the way the media is trying to belittle the claim of mental sickness/breakdown in the case of Andrew Falloon.
  
  His sleazy behaviour and silly lies seem completely irrational to me.
  
  Now if he has always been a total sleaze, surely folks wouldn’t be surprised about his fall, but by all accounts, it seems out of character.
  
  I note RNZ and the Media have put up Mental Health “experts” who seem to be of the opinion that Falloon and Collins / National have used “Mental Health ” as a smokescreen
