In their rush to get their vaccine to market, it looks like Pfizer did trials that had serious flaws, compromising both data integrity and patient safety. And the company fired whistleblowers, not the actions of an organisation with nothing to hide. The trials definitely should have not passed peer review. Which calls into question the validity of all the medical authorities’ permissions to use the vaccine. They definitely did not follow the protocols as they should have picked up these faults.
There are probably no significant issues with the vaccine, other than its lack of long term effectiveness, but those who parrot “follow the science” will be left with egg on their faces. But then, this is only the British Medical Journal reporting the problem. No doubt it will be dismissed as just a crank anti-vax site.

  Thanks for the link. Btw cardiovascular side-effects, sometimes lethal, are pretty well-documented for some of these vaccines. Not enough to cancel their utility for the covid-vulnerable, but enough to raise serious questions for those who would mass-vaccinate the young.

    Don’t be stupid Brian. The trial had serious flaws as they were not double blind and were not done to the protocols. That is what the article said. In normal drug trials, the issues reported here would have totally invalidated the data from the trial. How about you read up on what double blind actually means before commenting?
    And just read what I wrote in the last two sentences. I was being sarcastic as that is how any scientific reports that go against consensus are classified.

    There are a lot still trying to frantically pay down debt though and given the current political situation, I cant imagination the remainder are investing too much on infrastructure, whats the point if your not going to be aloud to farm in a couple years. Why invest in irrigation if it might get stolen, why do some planting if it might get stolen, why fence something if your just going to get told its slightly wrong and you have to pay to do it again.

    It sounds good doesn’t it, but with input costs, and compliance costs rising markedly at the same time, margins aren’t as good as you would think.
    It’s like saying petrol stations must be doing well because the price of fuel is up, it is a poor indication of profitability.

  I watched the pictures coming out of COP26 with both amusement and horror. A bunch of self important self centred up their arses wankers lecturing and hectoring the peasants to reduce their carbon print and by implication pay more taxes and costs to enrich government and these rich pricks.
  
  I have said it before and I will say it again when these aresholes get their carbon foot print to even a very large multiple of mine I might listen to them,
  Until then I will treat them witrh contempt and laugh at them. Now I know it wont matter in the greater scheme of things.

“In considering ways to facilitate new competitors’ entry in the grocery market, Crampton said, the Government could simply resolve to dismantle the barriers to entry of its own making.” The Commission, he suggested, could then write to international grocers with the following invitation: “Hello international grocer, New Zealand might not have featured in any plans you might have had for international expansion. Small markets at the far end of the world beset by regulatory impossibilities that make it hard for new entrants to set up shop are not the most enticing proposition. We at the Commerce Commission are writing you today to ask you to reconsider New Zealand or that you think about us for the first time.

The letter would promise waiving the cumbersome Overseas Investment Office approval process for foreigners buying land purchases for grocery stores, and easing council zoning and consenting rules to allow for the speedy building of stores

  The Government of the Soviet Union used to impose such interventions. Very successfully as the prices in their supermarkets were consistently maintained at most affordable levels. An unexpected and unfortunate side effect was lack of stock on the said supermarkets shelves.

Informatics Economist Brad Olsen pauses, and seems to take a big breath before he utters the “r” word.
Economists hate being on the hook for predicting Recessions, a oft – repeated joke’s that Economists have predicted 9 of the last 5 recessions, so you can understand why he might be reluctant to repeat the mistake.
“Our model is currently showing that economic activity in the fourth quarter is looking 10% lower than normal” says Olsen.
” And that’s going to be a second decline in economic activity “.
A recession is defined as two consecutive quarters of negitive growth, so yes: ” we are starting down the barrel of a technical recession”.

Auckland Council is drawing up a radical plan to remove parking on many of the city’s roads to make way for more bus lanes and cycleways.

Tomorrow, councillors will consider a new parking strategy that means Aucklanders will no longer be able to rely on parking outside their homes.

The strategy is an attempt to cut the city’s greenhouse gas emissions by reducing the distance travelled by petrol and diesel cars and shifting towards more climate-friendly forms of transport.

Under a proposal going to the planning committee, Auckland Transport will be given the power to remove parking without any consultation with residents or Local Boards when it selects roads for new bus lanes, cycleways or makes other changes to the roading network. Nor will it have to provide alternative parking elsewhere.

To enforce the new rules and bigger fines, AT’s parking team could be bolstered by 25 per cent to 50 per cent.

These people are power-mad, and appear to answer to absolutely nobody.

“The allocation of road space will need to change over time. This means Aucklanders cannot rely on the public realm for longer-duration storage of vehicles. Land use should provide for its own longer-duration storage of vehicles,” said the report to the planning committee.

And how many existing apartment blocks do that?

Dominion Rd Association general manager Gary Holmes called the strategy radical, saying it showed the anti-car focus of Auckland Transport which wanted to remove parking on roads for cycle lanes without any thought about the effect on businesses.

Yup. How about sparing a thought for the poor businesses that will be impacted?

Honestly, I swear the morons that come up with these mad ideas are so cocooned within their own little idealistic worlds, and so power-hungry, that they give little if any thought to how anybody else has to live in the real world. And even sadder is that when they barge ahead and implement these ideas they nearly always manage to screw them up completely. The Richmond Road cycle lane through the Grey Lynn shops is truly awful, and on the odd occasion I’ve cycled that road I find it easier and safer to stay on the road.

  In Japan you cannot own a car until you can show the police that you have an off-street parking space for it.
  Years ago I had to pay 5,000 yen ($NZ63) a month for a space in an outdoor lot some 400 m from my apartment.
  Would similar laws be enacted in Auckland?

    Possibly. But at the same time Auckland Council, and the new housing intensification Labour and National announced, there is no longer a requirement for developers to provide any parking on new builds.
    So you going to have a bunch of new builds with no parking, and AT won’t allow parking on the street….

    I’d be interested to know what the rules are about building car parking buildings in NZ. The Japanese I think have some innovative technological responses to the problem.
    
    And I’m sorry some people are outraged by all of this, but I think it is simple maths. We have more and more people in our cities; their presence does not make our streets wider.
    
    We will have to look for more efficient and effective ways to move around than every person needing to drive themselves everywhere, often alone in their car. Buses that run on time will be part of the answer – they just hold more people than a car can fit in the same amount of road space, even if the passengers are socially distanced. They also transport those too young, old or infirm to drive themselves – and those of us who do enough driving in the week and like to take a break from it at the weekend.
    
    Decent footpaths and, yes, the dreaded cycleways, also offer options for space-saving movement. They offer the possibility of children and teenagers moving themselves around locally, saving Mum and Dad a drive (and the petrol cost of it). They can actually also be used for local/last mile delivery, using electric cargo bicycles (possibly occupying some of those teens in useful after-school jobs).
    
    Movement is also a key to tackling problems like obesity and depression. Movement in the fresh air and sunshine provides a daily dose of free vitamin D at next to no risk of contracting any contagious disease.

  I am in favour of road pricing and, therefore, if you want to pay to park your car on the road and it makes economic sense for you then I say go for it! No subsidies though.
  
  However, we have to acknowledge that the roads they will “mode shift” it is not economic to park cars. I wouldn’t get worked up about the carbon reduction – that’s just a greenwash.
  
  Rather, Auckland is no longer a big town but rather a small city. Being able to park outside the butcher on Queen Street is long gone (as has the butcher). Whether any of the above mentioned places makes sense to convert I can’t comment. But I do remember a similar uproar when it came to Onewa Road in Birkenhead/Northcote. However, it was the right decision to introduce a bus lane as before Covid far more people will travelling down Onwea in the bus than in a private car. Now, it will be an uproar to take out the bus lane.

    A family member lived on Tarawera Tce in St Heliers. An ordinary suburban street in a good area. The cars/house ratio had run off the end of what was originally provided for. So this not-all-that-wide street had pretty much solid parked cars down both sides. The remainder was about one car wide, so getting up/down the street can be a bit interesting.
    
    Does anyone have a solution? Possibly there are other streets not all that different …

She is so unfocused, it’s like she just found herself on TV and will answer whatever question is asked of her. No prep, no message ,nothing aside from a catch up with Ryan and a quick chat about things being a little rough for some and agreeing with the Northland lockdown.

    It goes back far earlier than Collins. John Key had nearly nine years in power but, because he also didn’t believe in anything at all other than getting elected, he was just marking time until the Clark administration on steroids got back into power. What evidence is there that National was even in charge for nearly a decade? My abiding memory is of Key mincing about at a Big Gay Out. The problem is, none of them are in any way reactionary against the kind of politics espoused by Labour, but are simply less fanatical about it. Labour are taking liberalism directly to its logical conclusion, while the liberal National Party want to take the scenic route to its logical conclusion.

    Not a fan of Ardern for starters. Have a look at the interview with Ryan Bridge and then have a look at how Key was interviewed by him.
    Key grabs the direction of the interview in an engaging manner and steers it to where he wants it to go and gets his points across. Bridge then follows along and after watching it you feel better informed and energised. Key has his homework done and is always ready to win, everyday and seizes every opportunity.

  Judith has a stressful job although I was surprised to see her become tearful recently when there were no changes to the Auckland Covid settings, she was upset for small businessess. But no one can say she isn’t hanging in there and people do identify with a politician showing their human side. The contrast between how she handles stress compared to the PM is distinct.

    I must say seeing that side of Judith did touch me. There are millions of stories of suffering from the Covid response that weren’t allowed to be heard before. If she stays focused on the suffering of the Covid response and the clear incompetence of this government then I think she has a shot of being PM.
    
    When National offer a real alternative then I do see people interested – but not just Labour done better. I think the country is ready to hear alternatives. For example, end MIQ for doubled vaccinated.

        Lol Leo, did you ever hear Muldoon get interrupted by a heckler? I did, a couple of times, he used to slaughter them verbally. Both times it was hilarious the way he humiliated the heckler.   sadly i was talking to someone who works in aged care facilities this morning and interacts when she is in there with residents. Most don’t get to see friends and family and really would rather be dead.
  Apparently most of them have now exceeded the expected life of one entering a rest home, because that cold or stomach bug that would have killed them didn’t get in. And this is causing issues for rest home operators as places are not being freed up as frequently as historically indicated….

You know you’re living in an Orwellian reality when rather than address the question of the Israeli covid dataset showing the vax doesn’t work, your PM shuts down the presser and moves it indoors so only “accredited” journalists can be asking her the “right” questions.

Are we getting truth about the most critical national security issue NZ has ever faced in its history,. or are we just being allowed to absorb the approved propaganda complete with allegations of misinformation attached to anything that doesn’t comport?

BTW, how can a covid dataset from a foreign country, esp a sophisticated Western ally like Israel, be “misinformation?” It can’t be, of course.

Which is why she never addressed the question being raised about it, she just pretended she couldn’t answer because the questioner wasn’t “accredited.”

Wake up people. This is your heath, and more importantly the health of your children that is at stake here. You owe it to them to do your due diligence, anyone who has them, or any grandparents who read this. Because they can’t. Start by looking up the Israeli dataset.

  Yes, it’s true pdm. All the hot-shot leaders will have departed by the weekend, but that’s when the actual work starts. Lower-level Ministers like Shaw, and the officials and diplomats they bring with them, stick around for a forum for another week where they will sit down and try to nut out putting what the leaders have all promised into action.
  
  The last few days have been all about show, and it’s basically been a talkfest, or in Joe Biden’s case, a snooze-fest. Then again, he wouldn’t be the first person to fall asleep whilst Prince Charles was speaking! Next week, something might actually get done!

I am a lifelong sports fan, and particularly a lover of rugby and cricket. So I found this story on The Spinoff this morning particularly distressing:

Carl Hayman was once estimated to be the highest-paid player in rugby. Now, less than six years after the end of his playing days, he has spoken of the disorientation he felt as his career was winding down, the ceaseless headaches that plagued him and sent him into a spiral of alcohol abuse and frequent suicidal thoughts, culminating in a suspended prison sentence in France after admitting to charges of domestic violence.

“I spent several years thinking I was going crazy. At one stage that’s genuinely what I thought. It was the constant headaches and all these things going on that I couldn’t understand,” Hayman says.

The 41-year-old, once regarded as the finest tighthead prop in the world, now has an explanation. He received a shocking diagnosis after extensive testing in England that included a brain scan that can identify changes in the brain’s white matter. He has been diagnosed with early-onset dementia and probable chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE. It’s a progressive brain condition which has been strongly associated with former NFL players and boxers. The “probable” refers to the fact that it can only be properly diagnosed post mortem.

CTE has a profound impact on its sufferers and has been associated with many premature deaths in the US, including NFL superstars Junior Seau, Dave Duerson and Aaron Hernandez, the latter committing suicide in prison while serving a life sentence for murder. There have been no confirmed cases of CTE among former All Blacks, though the New Zealand Herald has reported links between rugby and high incidences of Alzheimer’s disease in specific teams.

At his peak, Hayman was a magnificent athlete. One of the tallest props to have played for New Zealand, he redefined the role of tighthead prop, and was the rock of a dominant All Black scrum in the early years of the Sir Graham Henry era.

Hayman received a massive offer from Toulon in France after the 2007 Rugby World Cup. He played 156 times for Toulon over five seasons, then a further 64 games for Newcastle in England over the next three seasons. He basically played non-stop from the time he was selected for the New Zealand U16 team at the age of 15.

Carl Hayman only had one serious concussion during his All Black career, versus Australia in 2006. But it was the volume of sub-concussive hits over his career that is most likely to have affected him.

The issue of dementia and CTE in professional sport has become a real talking point in the last few years. Is it too much to hope that Carl Hayman’s diagnosis might be the one that stops New Zealand and global rugby authorities from talking about player welfare to actually doing something about it?

    Props use the top of their heads as a weapon. To create a hole or clean out they go head first into a gap or where they want a gap to be. Then there are the hitups that are part of the job.
    
    Hayman at his peak was circa 6 foot 5 and 130 kg and very mobile. That is a shit-ton of bang for the brain each time he runs.

      Years ago, early-mid 2000s I guess, I was walking along Elliot St in downtown Auckland and following just a few feet behind a true man-mountain.
      
      I remember thinking that this must be one of the largest and most-solid men I had ever seen. A giant. Some sort of super man. I’m over 5-11 and felt puny and small next to him.
      
      We drew level as he stopped and turned slightly towards me as I passed him – it was Carl Hayman.
      
      Good grief, the thought of trying to stop him ball in hand….

  A sad story but I would be asking what is the incidence of early onset dementia among the general population vs people who have played a lot of rugby? Also, what would you like NZ rugby to do? They could introduce compulsory head protection but the NFL has helmets and that hasn’t stopped it.

  When I was a young fella, I was lucky enough to play a few matches against Richard Loe. He was about same height as me, 6’2″, but quite a bit heavier than my 105kg. When he ran into you, you knew about it, I can tell you. I vividly remember him putting on shoulder on our hooker (who wasn’t a light weight) and literally lifting him off the ground and catapulting him backward about 10 feet. So I can’t even grasp what it must have been like to come up against Carl Hayman.
  And before anyone has a moan about Loe, while he was hard as nails as a player and gave no quarter, he was a really good bugger.

    None of it makes any sense to me. I feel that the climate has always changed and always will and there is nothing we can do about it. It’s created by the solar system. We can do something about pollution, plastic bags in waterways etc though and should. I’ve lived by the coast all my long life and the water hasn’t risen at all. Of course we get extreme weather events, king tides etc but that has always and will always happen and there is nothing we can do about it apart from being prepared and being sensible where we allow buildings to be put.

In today’s Ferald there are a number of interesting juxtapositions on two Bat flu stories.

The first is an internal jux on the “yank” interupting the Prime mangler , he is identified by name and nationality , but they don’t name his website , presumably not to give it any publicity . Yet they don’t tell us the woman heckler was Maori and stating that the PM had no sovereignty over Ngai Puhi .

The other jux is that is over a story about gang leaders promoting the vaccine . We’re treated to a photo of two of them and the names of their criminal organisations .

To be fair to the “yank” , at least he’s asking the PM the questions the so called accredited media won’t or are literally too scared to put to her .

They will in time though , when the fizzer efficacy falls off a cliff and our negligible ICU’s are overwhelmed.

  Don’t pay attention to what the host says. While I admire him for putting up a channel that is a breath of fresh air, his views on the virus and the vax should not be taken seriously, just listen to what his various guests say, both in this one and the other vids on his rumble channel.

  May I politely enquire where you might go? As far as I know the only place a New Zealand citizen – not dual – can go without a visa is Australia. And having lived there several years I can tell you being a Kiwi in Oz is not exactly a level playing field. But if you have information of other places we could go to freely live (and work if we need to) please advise.
  If you are in fact not a New Zealander, then I apologise, but I would have to wonder why you haven’t already left the region.

Dime was looking over his share portfolio this morning.

A lot of US stocks. The gains are unreal.

If my portfolio had a few more zeros on the end of it, the government would see me as pure evil.

But is anyone actually holding these governments to account? the way they have grown these giant corporates at the expense of small business is unreal.

Does anyone remember when the left HATED corporations and BIG PHARMA??

Some market caps:

Microsoft – 2.5 trillion
Apple – 2.42 trillion
Google – 1.98 trillion (no bathroom breaks you greedy employees)
Tesla – 1.182 (jesus christ this is over valued)
Meta (Facebook) – 912 billion

Total

9 trillion dollars.

Total revenue last 12 months:

1.32 trillion dollars. (Tesla makes up about $90 of that. “investing” in tesla is gambling).

There are 14 countries with a higher GDP.

This is just at the extreme end. Damage is being done.

Im not sure what the answer is – but capitalism isnt about govt control, barriers to entry etc

  The Auckland property market is doing the same thing due to the money printing here. With the locking out of first home buyers it’s effectively the biggest redistribution of wealth from millennials to the boomers in history. I think the US market still has a way to run with the money still sitting on the sidelines.

    Assisted dying is not available for reasons like depression, your business is struggling, or that you broke up with your girlfriend and such.
    
    You need to be terminal, so it is a way to exit from those people who have to face the horror of slow, painful, and even humiliating death.

“Though marrying off children under 15 is illegal nationwide, it has been commonly practiced for years, especially in more rural parts of Afghanistan. And it has only spread since August, driven by widespread hunger and desperation,” CNN reported.

The CNN report released on Tuesday detailed multiple instances where the young girls were sold, while asserting that international aid has dried up and the country’s economy has collapsed. Mohammad Naiem Nazem, a human rights activist, told CNN, “Day by day, the numbers are increasing of families selling their children. Lack of food, lack of work, the families feel they have to do this.”

Parwana Malik, a 9-year-old girl, told CNN that she was being sold to a man who says he is 55 years old and has white eyebrows and a thick white beard; she added that she was fearful he would beat her and force her to work for him. Her father, Abdul Malik, told CNN, “We are eight family members. I have to sell to keep other family members alive.” When the buyer arrived at her home, her father wept and begged, “This is your bride. Please take care of her — you are responsible for her now, please don’t beat her.” Abdul Malik added to CNN, “The old man told me, ‘I’m paying for the girl. It’s none of your business what I’m doing with her … that’s my business.’”

“As they left, her father watching by the doorway, Parwana dug her feet into the dirt and tried to pull away — but it was no use. She was dragged to the waiting car, which slowly pulled away,” CNN reported.

Did anyone see the 7.10 am interview yesterday on the AM show with the Auckland retailer and the restaurant owner who are still in this living hell imposed on them unnecessarily by Ardern. Absolutely broken people. It was very hard to watch.

Bridge did a great job of a tough interview showing empathy for the plight of these people. The hospitality industry in Auckland still has no end date for this nightmare. And I suspect for many akl retailers it’s all too little, too late. Very hard for people outside Auckland to fathom how it feels to be an Auckland business owner. Life is largely back to normal outside of Auckland. Only when people start to lose their jobs do they start to get the incompetence of Ardern, Hipkins, Robertson and Bloomfield.

With 99.7% of adults in the Irish county of Waterford having received the COVID shots, they have the highest per-capita case rate of COVID anywhere in the country.

The Irish Times reported last week that with one Waterford city district at a 14-day incidence rate of 1,486 cases per 100,000 of the population, Waterford has the highest incidence rate of anywhere in Ireland. The COVID case rate is three times the national average, which in itself has been increasing steadily in recent weeks, despite 91% of Irish adults being vaccinated. However, Waterford takes the cake.

“Waterford has the highest rate of vaccination in the country with 99.7 per cent of adults over the age of 18 (as registered in the last census) fully vaccinated,” reports the Irish Times. “The county has gone from having one of the lowest rates of Covid-19 infection in Ireland to one of the highest.”

  And clearly with a 90% vaccination rate, restrictions are reduced and covid becomes the mild endemic disease you’ve been hoping for.

      So yes, the obsession with case numbers is likely down to the media needing simple metrics to talk about and get clicks with.

    Normally 5 to 20 % of the population catch the standard flue. Even if the Covid19 Delta version is more virulent, I can’t see everyone catching it.

A Reefton couple shut down their gym rather than discriminate against the unvaxxed.

Powerhouse Fitness Centre manager Rachel Fifield owns the Reefton gym with her husband Murray Fifield.

The new Covid-19 Protection Framework, or traffic-light system was announced as the couple were moving the fitness centre to new premises and it made them consider if they wanted to continue the business.

Rachel Fifield said the couple did not want to discriminate against its members or employees based on their personal choice whether or not to get vaccinated.

“We both agreed that we weren’t prepared to do the Government’s dirty work for them and discriminate against our community and that is exactly why we closed our gym, it is a political stand against tyranny, we won’t enforce discrimination of any kind.

“I think New Zealand needs to look at this really seriously, the division that it’s making in our communities, families and workplaces.”

The couple had recently spent thousands buying new gym equipment and painting their new building ahead of what would have been the gym’s third birthday.

She said the decision was not made lightly and the couple had since received support from around the country for their stance.

Looks like the Government and the Opposition are pushing for vaccinating 5 – 11 year olds. Apparently Pfizer is applying in the next couple of weeks.

Next stop – 3 and 4 year olds in mid-2022. That trial is about to conclude in the USA.

I have made it clear that I am thankful for the vaccines. They have clear net benefits in people over 50 and probably over 40, and at my age I am very pleased I am vaccinated but for 5 year olds? Show me the evidence Chris.

  Why is it assumed that kids under 12 need to be vaccinated at all?
  If that becomes part of a mandate, then I expect even more social division.
  
  I haven’t been too pleased with Bishop as a Covid spokemen, in that the Nats ideas I heard from him are not really a point of difference to the current government strategy.
  
  Additionally it feeds in to the “National would have done the same thing” defence that some people make for the Labour response.
  How about….Set a date, and open up, regardless of vaccine rates. Personal choice & personal responsibility in vaccination. Focus on hospital capacity over social control…and just stick to these as a central point of difference?

Listened to Hipkins on Hoskings show. Gee Mike sure doesn’t mince his words. No wonder Ardern and co are scared to go on the show! Someone has to hold them to account.

I work in retail on a Saturday and can see that those vaccine passports are going to be another train wreck and yet another handbrake on retailers trying to make a recovery from the shambles of a covid response of Ardern’s government.

Expecting retailers to police customers with vaccine passports is going to turn to custard fairly quickly. We have violent, obnoxious and at times unhinged individuals (forgot to take their pills, on benefits, coming into the shop deliberately to shoplift etc) coming into the shop, who will never comply with a vaccine passport. And there is no way I’m going to confront any of these individuals if they don’t have a passport or for that matter a smartphone even.

Saturday’s are extremely busy and there’s no way you could ask every person coming through the door to show their ‘credentials’. If people have to queue out the door they are just going to walk off.

It’s clear none of Ardern, Hipkins and Robertson have ever worked in a business or retail or had any skin in the game with a live business. Retail workers are not going to put their personal safety on the line to do the dirty work for this government. I’m predicting this pie in the sky, vaccine passport gig is going to last about a week before it all goes out the window like the contact tracing has. Predictably many millions of taxpayers money will have gone down the drain developing it, just like the failed contract tracing system, the MIQ lottery debacle and any others Ardern has touched. They are just spraying money at anything and everything.

The local media would have had a field day had the National Party been involved in today’s protest, so it was better to leave it to the anti-vaxxers, anti-Three Waters protesters, the Maori Party crew, Voices for Freedom with their professionally made billboards, and a few other malcontents. Ironically though, there were a number there who would normally protest any visiting National leader or MP, yet here they were venting their collective spleen at a Labour Prime Minister.

To be fair, the second article does say a bit later:

Jacinda Ardern told ZM’s Fletch, Vaughan and Meghan this morning that the Government was still working through the logistics of enabling Aucklanders to leave the city and visit friends and family for Christmas and over summer – but it would only apply to those who were double jabbed or had returned a test.

Get that? “… those who were double jabbed or had returned a test.” Which implies that even if you aren’t vaccinated, you could still get through if you return a test.

But then the article seems to contradict itself:

The issue to letting vaccinated Aucklanders leave wasn’t so much other regions reaching the 90 per cent target, but how they could manage 30,000 cars at a time trying to leave while checking they had returned a vaccine certificate and produced a negative Covid test before they did, she said.

So Aucklanders have to returned a vaccine certificate and produce a negative Covid test. Umm …

Isn’t it wonderful having such clear, unconfusing direction from the PM?!

A health worker from Adelaide –

“The hospitals are not full of Covid patients. The hospitals are full of vaccinated patients. I’ve got friends who work at ICU at Flinders[?]. Thirty out of 38 patients currently are vaccinated. That is a fact. [I’m seeing] 20 year olds that have dropped dead. Nothing is getting on the media. Myocarditis is a rare condition. All of a sudden every 3rd 20 year old has myocarditis? [We’re probably losing] two and a half thousand nurses in South Australia alone [because of the mandate]. Are you hearing ambulances all the time? Sirens? That’s the vaccine injured. This is Adelaide. We’re a small city. You don’t get ambulances every hour. […] You cannot produce a safe vaccine in 4 to 6 months. Why [are they rolling out vaccines for kids before America] in Australia? Why New Zealand? Are we the testing ground?”

  In SA there are currently no Covid cases in hospital or ICU. So these 38 are there for other reasons than Covid. Given the level of vaccination in SA, it is not statistically odd that 30 out of 38 people in ICU should be vaccinated.
  How many 20 year olds have dropped dead? And of those, how many did she see?
  Does “every third 20 year old” have myocarditis?
  I call bullshit on what she was saying, but, Fletch, I invite you to dig out the stats to support it. I’m sure the parents of the many thousands of kids with myocarditis, and the large number who have inexplicably dropped dead after vaccination would welcome proper confirmation that doesn’t come from a shrieking motor-mouth on a picket line..

I see the Ferald has removed all the comments from the article on Hipkins announcing there might be time slots allocated to Aucklanders to get out of Auckland over xmas. There were around 119 comments earlier in the evening all calling BS on Hipkins latest clusterfuck idea. Some comments had 250+ up votes. This is further evidence that Ardern and co are in complete control of the Ferald editorial decisions. Nothing $55m can’t buy.
