  Yep the trend is all bad for zero covid nut jobs. The economy, mental health, the dying despite the jaxx, there were much better ways to deal with the virus. Flushed away by zero covid now come the deaths over a prolong period. Fourth booster might buy 2 or 3 months.
  
  Also next is the steady and increasing total of jaxx injuries all the while the virus will attack the jaxxed more than the unjaxxed.
  
  There will be an accounting for those who enforced the mandates. This is just a matter of time.

What gives Labour the right to use anyone’s email address to post their propaganda of what they have delived to those in need in this Country.
I have replied before saying I want nothing to do with the Labour Party as I don’t believe in there agenda, not once but two or three times, now I know I am a pensioner and we are included in the latest pension wage increase but it goes further than that because they also have a donate to Labour piece at the bottom of the email.
Many Politicians don’t like getting emails from the public and complain of abuse, well this is also abuse, yes a abuse of power and should be stopped.

  The pay rise for pensioners has nothing to do with the party in power. It’s enshrined in law and is tied in with the CPI. We get it regardless of what’s happening in the country at the time. And Jacinda certainly can’t take any credit for it. Pensioners are not beneficiaries.

    Of course not. Their pensions are paid from the pension fund that they have been paying into all these years. Not sure about the 60-year olds that started getting it right off the bat in 1975. Maybe they hadn’t been paying into the fund … and their kids were funding ir out of current income …
    
    What fund was that again?
    
    I suppose a 50 year old who loses her job and gets money from MSD is not a beneficiary either if she has been paying into an unemployment fund for 30 years ….

I have a confession. I am a racist. I believe that every NZ’er whatever their ethnicity should be treated equally under the law. That apparently according to Stuffed and writer Janet Wilson makes me a racist.

Trying to sort out the Ardern Govt’s handling of 3 waters and related separate treatment for people of different colour makes me even more racist according to Wilson.

The idea that Maori underperformance in social and crime stats can be fixed by giving a few chosen elites over paid jobs on Commissions and Departments is bizarre and impracticable. But do not expect the MSM to write that.

  I have a lot of sympathy for the rotten statistics Maori suffer but I’m yet to hear a single argument as to how this co-governance will improve them.
  Surely before you can fix any problem you need to clearly define the cause. And that doesn’t seem to have happened, except anecdotally.

    In order to hang that painting, you are going to need a nail (qualification), the bigger the nail, the bigger the painting you can hang.
    To bang the nail into the wall, you will need a hammer (education). The bigger your use of the hammer the easier the nail will go into the wall.
    Then you can hang your life (painting) on the wall.
    Small nail, small painting, small hammer will take longer to drive the nail home.
    The common thing here is YOU and what YOU do.
    NB Education….not just schooling
    Qualification not just education.
    BUT
    The education system is just a fixed (or should be) a tool YOU can use to achieve.

  The ACT party opposed that every stip of thew ay and voted against it.
  
  These days supposed journalists when constantly lecturing us aren’t even embarassed when they have their facts wrong. They are morally virtuous, that overcomes that particularly difficulty.

      coolas: I still remember warning our caucus about Finlayson’s lying. Some time after I left in disgrace, dear old John Boscawen rang me one day shocked, and said “Chris Finlayson just lied to my face David”. I laughed like a drain at John’s surprise. John’s a lovely guy, but not the most worldly of men.
      
      Finlayson lied constantly: in particular, about the supposed “full and final settlements” he was negotiating while handing out hundreds of millions of taxpayer money to compensate for real or imagined grievances.
      
      He was, and I’m sure still is, a waspish nasty little bastard to boot. When he was still Treaty-Giveaway-Money Minister I wrote to him asking him to explain why the settlements he was signing off would be any more durable than the settlements of the 1940’s.
      
      He – or one of his minions – responded with a smart arse letter asking for a copy of my passport before he would deign to reply, i.e. a nasty reference to my misdeeds of 30 years before without even attempting a proper response.
      
      Instead of just visiting Thailand for their —attractions— he should stay there and be “taken care of” all year.

      I can confirm all Rodney has said above – I particularly recall the aggression of the Maori in the public gallery, who were allowed to jeer and insult all the ACT caucus with impunity. If they had had white skins rather than brown, they would have been promptly ejected from the gallery – as I saw happen a number of times when various nutters sought to “add to the debate” from there.
      
      IIRC – and it is now almost 12 years ago – as ACT whip I had to made strident efforts to get our “five votes against” recorded when voting on the final reading, and loud singing broke out in the gallery. I can’t remember whether Rodney was in the House at the time, but if he was, he will either confirm my recollection or correct me.

        Correct. The abuse from the gallery was allowed and used as an excuse to not hear voting in opposition. There was great enthusiam to have unanimous support then as now. Mr Garret had to work very hard to have ACT’s vote recorded in opposition. The attempt continues with Mr Findlayson apparently making up his own history. And yes I have complained to stuff.

        The ACT caucus of the day could very clearly see where “co-governance” was going to take us, both of the rivers – As Rodney’s speech noted, the Waikato was just the start – and generally.

      On RNZ Finlayson was replying to ACT’s referendum proposal when saying you took part in the process.
      
      Janet Wilson was a National press secretary (Muller) and cheer leader forever.

    “Neither the column nor the article say that you supported the Waikato River legislation. They say you worked with Christopher Finalyson to develop a set of principles for co-governance,which Finalyson then applied to various settlements, including the Waikato one.
    
    We are happy to clarify or correct the record where that’s necessary but in this case I can’t see that we are wrong as you claim. I’m not trying to be difficult about this.”

  Tom toddy – quite right. There is an article in newshub this morning implying Maori people are more at risk of covid because of misinformation they’ve received. So they are not getting double vaxxed and triple vaxxed like the rest of the population.
  Two things bug me about this article. It implies that Maori people have no agency. That they can’t decide things for themselves. Some Maori people I’ve spoken to really don’t like Jacinda and basically don’t trust her. Surely that’s their call, that’s their opinion?
  
  Secondly it’s like Maori people are a separate category of person, that they’re not really like the rest of us New Zealanders. Somehow they need special treatment as if they can’t decide for themselves what’s right. In some ways it’s a patronising view. In another way it’s a deeply racist view. That suddenly we’re not all NZers and race is what divides us forever and for all time.
  
  I’d like one standard of citizenship and one rule of law for all. I think that’d be the best thing for all NZers, regardless of the colour of their skin.

      It’s very good. I really struggle to understand how it’s possible to argue with the points Seymour makes. This is a critical issue and needs to be aired in a rational, civilised manner. Dismissing as racist anyone who dares to suggest we all have equal rights in this country is really doing a reprehensible disservice to future generations. We need to get this right.

  The inequality is plain to see when you look at Māori figures for health, for education, for housing, for the justice system

  And you don’t see the difference there with for example the Maori Health Authority? Which gives Maori access to 100% of Health funding with everyone else has access to only 70%, and gives unelected Maori elites veto over health outcomes for non-Maori. That model is set up for racketeering.
  
  …it’s timely to remember that racists abide in all parties. They can be identified as the ones who object to the word Aotearoa and complain bitterly about the amount of te reo spoken on RNZ National
  
  I’m at the point where, use whatever language you want on RNZ. But don’t expect me to fund it, cause I won’t be tuning in.
  It is incumbent on those who want to connect with others, to do so in a culturally appropriate manner.

  And if Seymour really believes his race-based “one-person, one-vote” referendum is handing him a lifeline…

With all the complaints about Labour wasting money one place where they receive excellent value is Stuff.
This morning we have articles on how excellent Co Governance has been and will be, how awesome Fair Pay Agreements are, how the benefit increase improves lives.
If it wasnt for rising rents, mortgages, food or Little having to destroy 20 million bucks worth of measles vaccines while 300,000 kids remain unvaxxed (irony but where is the vax mandate on something far more contageous), the bloated waste of the tourism rescue fund etc etc I would feel wonderful about the way the gaff is being run and the exciting changes coming up.
No mention of 3 waters or Robertsons social insurance scheme, maybe that will be in tomorrows edition.

  Stuff is often presenting itself as the media arm of Labour.
  
  Their “journalists” often write how they are full on Labour only types and several of their staff have moved into Labour employment.
  
  Stuff often will have a surreptitious way of deplatforming opposition to Labour/Jacinda. During the heights of covid restrictions the gloves came off with this for an example. They will have a story about nutters burning 5g towers then half way down the page insert a pic of Judith Collins with a caption about National having some opposition to some aspects of Labours covid response.
  
  Labour also seem to use stuff comment sections often as a basis for the PMs scripts, it has been noted how often the PM would address those comments almost word for word during her “I am you you, are I we are one” phase before climbing into the “I am the only solution” phase of the podium of strewth waffle-a-thon.
  
  I just hope it’s possible to hold off the inquiry into New Zealand’s covid response until a less corrupt alt-left committee selection can be put together, the money and email trails will be fascinating.
  
  It’s going to be a filthy politics election and the MSM are preparing their advertising fees for the influx of clicks.

  FWIW, I land about 95% on the “Covid is a lab leak” theory vs only 5% on the “Covid is from the Wuhan wet market” theory.
  
  And I suspect Covid was circulating in Wuhan from Oct/Nov 2019, not just Jan 2020.

    I read something in the Press in the mid 90’s from memory about the Treaty negotiations – a syndicated piece by Sir Douglas Graham and he said something like “Those in the past did the wrongs and it is maori and pakeha today who will work together to right the wrongs.”
    
    It was hi-jacked as elements in maori and pakeha since then have done nothing but excuse people from working, and therefor paying the taxes to right the wrongs – fund the repatriations to the Tribes. Not only that but these people who have not contributed in the process by working have had millions and millions more spent on them, and that is just under ‘general welfare’.
    
    There is no ‘white man’s tax’ in NZ and maori who work should be looked upon as ‘doing the right thing’ for everyone in the future. They too are funding repatriations through taxes. They are good examples to their kids.
    
    Some look at the whole ‘maori thing’ as an IOU. Too many trouble makers, mostly in Wellington, and right from the very top with the current PM – creating further division for future votes. Supporting the local police across the entire country would start to quiet things down is my 2c worth.

      Benedict, there is no difference between the two. As I wrote above, my partner is vaccine hesitant, it does not matter what is in the vaccine or anesthetic., she is very hesitant to have anything put into her body apart from food, water and fresh air if she can help it.
      That is the same with most vaccine hesitant parents, they will not and do not differentiate between different vaccines or anesthetics

      Yep. We didn’t vaccinate our kids again the common cold/omicron.
      
      In laws were encouraging it, but we said no. No point whatsoever. Overseas evidence is very clear it is not required or even useful unless child has serious underlying conditions. Our kids are vaccinated against all the other stuff using the vaccines that are well tested, have a history, and work. The covid vaccine is none of those things.
      
      We didn’t think that we, or any of our kids would catch covid simply because we don’t catch colds. However one child has come home from school with omicron. In the house we are taking zero precautions around said child. He had symptoms night before last (a head ache), had a bit of a fever yesterday and today is completely fine.
      
      He is obviously unvaccinated, and the vaccine was going to help him in what way exactly? I would rather him go through a headache for several hours than inject him with something no one knows the effect of in years to come.
      
      The half Panadol we gave him took the headache away, so other than that, nothing actually happened.
      
      I know there will be people around that say we are just lucky, but that is not the case. Our kids spend a lot of time outside, hiking, gardening, biking etc. We feed them well (proper food) and they get 12 hours of sleep every night. CoronaVirus was never going to be a problem, and we already knew it. Lots of parents are the same, and there are also a lot that are not. I see no reason to inject my kids with something for a low level flu that is only a threat to unhealthy children, that are this way mainly due to incompetence on the part of their parents.

    Plus the serious illness and blindness it causes. IIRC the MMR vaccine came out in 1970, just a few years too late for me. I had already contracted measles, fortunately with no ill effect. But I clearly recall a school friend who had vision problems from measles. The vaccine provides 95 percent protection for at least 10 years. An amazing achievement.
    
    That’s why I was so excited about the covid vaccines. If their claims had been correct they could have ended the pandemic. It took me only a few months to realise it was lies. And yet Jacinda never acknowledged those lies from the vaccine makers. She just doubled down in her statements and vaccine passes and mandates.
    
    History will judge the last two years as the worst public policy failure of the last century in New Zealand.
    
    And of course we now know that her judgement and honesty cannot be trusted. Anything she says or proposes about any matter at all will likely be lies or stupidity or both. I have doubled down in my determination to avoid her face and her voice. I have never ever behaved like that in relation to any public figure in any country.

  Those Countries buy their crude from Russia.
  Another lie by omission, and the media let her get away with that shit.

I’m looking forward to driving Transmission Gully at Anzac Day weekend. We are staying at Kapiti Island overnight. Never been.

The Maori name for the motorway is several syllables long and does not have a hope of ever being used.

I was discussing this with a Wellington based public servant yesterday. He told me that every initiative, team, process or system in his agency are progressively being given exclusively Maori names with no English translation.

I had written a document for this agency and I was asked if I could upload it to their secure document server. Which is called “Kete tuhinga”. 😳

I then discovered something alarming about Maori “science”. According to legend, all knowledge preceded humanity and is provided in three baskets of knowledge…
te kete tuauri, te kete tuatea and te kete aronui.

The reason it is alarming is because it is clearly absurd. We should not be teaching young people that someone descended through 12 heavens to bring all knowledge. I am not going to even explain why that is wrong.

Anyway back to the public service here. They are definitely moving towards requiring information exchange in a pidgin combination of Maori and English. In fact I now receive ONLY such communications in relation to projects I am involved in. Any data analysis that I undertake with a geographic dimension must refer to Maori names of all New Zealand cities and geographic features. Because I can’t get that perfect, I need to pay someone else to do it.

My complaint about all this is that the Chinese and English languages, and probably other languages, have evolved over centuries to improve in functionality. Just try to read English text from the 15th century and you will get my point.

But the New Zealand government is now driving at break neck speed to degrade the usefulness of the New Zealand language in the state sector and in broadcasting. It is doing this through coercion. If you resist, say goodbye to your career.

I am aware of no country that has embarked on such a course. Instead, countries like Canada, the Netherlands, and Switzerland, with dual or multiple official languages, ensure that documents, dealings, and broadcasting are all provided in each language. You don’t have someone on the news speaking Dutch suddenly breaking out in Flemish. For reasons I should not need to explain.

Apologies for the long comment, but I find this very worrying. Having devoted many years to studying the English language, I am alarmed that it is being degraded in New Zealand.

      The silly thing is that the maori word “kete” meaning a kit – like the flax or fabric kit bags that we put stuff in to carry around, is a corruption of the english word ‘kit’.
      The original maori language had – I think – less than 4ooo words, and many words had multiple meanings, depending on the context.

  Languages have been crafted into being the best means for communication.
  Some purists would claim math is the most precise language.Maybe so , but only in a very limited spectrum.
  English is comprehensible to most of the world.It is and is our major communication tool in business, commerce ,politics and social connectivity.It is also the major written language.
  Changing this tool to accommodate any local language will inevitably reduce the English languages efficiency and the precision it offers.
  Degrading these communication methods is totally insane,
  There should be a cost- benefit analysis of any government induced changes to matters of this importance.

My prediction is that the “colonial hating”, Māori can’t move on trough suckers will be in favour and the real Māori leaders who want a positive, grievance fee future against.

Can already see Mathew Tukaki, John Tamahere etc lining up for more paid “governance roles”.

Media is happy to call out the wealth of the whiteys. How about exposing the wealth of the Māori elite?

How Janet Wilson can write total untruths (ACT and Rodney did not support co-governance) and a totally illogical argument (appointing tribal elites such as the Maori King’s cousins to well paid committee jobs will not change Maori health, longevity or imprisonment rates) is beyond me. I can understand run of the mill journos writing rubbish – that’s normal, sadly – but she’s usually better than that. The price of a latte in Ponsonby must have gone up.

Has anyone noticed the step up in attacks on the Nats in the Ferald & Stuff in the last 7 days? In comparison to the praising of Ardern and her policies (including only publishing flattering photos of her in the Ferald).

It’s clear when the likes of Fran O’Sullivan & Derek Cheng at the Ferald have been directed by their editor to write pro Ardern articles or ones that don’t criticise Labour. These two journos are definitely not pro Ardern or pro Labour policies on the whole. It’s blatantly obvious what’s going on.

You just have to look at the hit pieces Ardern’s commissioned on National in the Ferald this week to see that Ardern is still controlling the narrative and NZ’s political landscape. Nothing $110m won’t buy. 

That new zero road toll policy is just a front to keep up the msm bribery using tax payer funds. The vax campaign for measles will be another excuse to keep placing over the top advertising with the outlets Ardern wants to control.

Apparently the covid advertising contracts were worth $35m. That’s on top of the straight out $110m bribe fund payments.

Thank goodness the covid bribe fund mechanism is getting less and less effective for Ardern as a lot of NZers know her game with regards to controlling the msm and it just makes her look worse with the likes of the Ferald and $tuffed fawning all over her.

A couple of random thoughts.

1 Why isn’t the speed limit on Transmission Gully 110? The Tauranga Expressway has that speed limit for the most part.

2. NZTA resealed part of our state highway last week. Already it is showing signs of wear and tear. instead of doing all those bloody excruciating ads, just fix the roads better.

3. In relation to those bloody excruciating ads ( I am about to throw something through the TV at them), would we be more inclined to watch if they had used the three legged dog ( sadly gone to doggy heaven).

I want to know if any police have been charged? The image of that elderly gentleman going to the aid of a woman being held on the ground and beaten, a move that result in him being hit and falling to the ground unconscious is my defining image of the barbarism of our cops. In a supreme lack of awareness the Waitangi Tribunal thunders that the government must do somethimg about this.   My partner’s father is 84. Sadly he has esophageal cancer, moderate heart failure and has just finished intensive radiation treatment. Of course if he gets covid he may well die and he will be recorded as a covid death.

  How many of the folk in hospital under 70 with omicron were otherwise in good health with no serious medical conditions?
  
  We deserve to know the answer. The current covid “deaths” are just Orwellian bullshit to help justify the policies of that dreadful woman.

    I hope your father-in-law hangs in there. My sister-in-law is late 50’s, overweight, unvaccinated and undergoing cancer treatment got covid and had very mild symptoms for only a few days. Just to provide a bit of hope, it’s not all bad news for those undergoing cancer treatment.

I am currently being bombarded by texts and phone calls from the Covid Healthline who are clearly worried that I have chosen not to have a 3rd jab. I don’t answer their calls because I fear I will use intemperate language to tell the caller to mind his/ her own business. Are others being harassed in this manner?

BMJ did mention that 7% of covid deaths in UK also had influenza or a related respiratory illness (or was that n% of influenza deaths also had covid.)

The Russians are blaming the Ukranians for the latest incident. The Ukranians are neither confirming or denying that they were involved.

It seems to me most likely to be a Ukranian special ops attack, as this would be an ideal target to disrupt Russian logistics.

A false flag attack by the Russians makes no sense at all. But an intriguing possibility, is that disgruntled elements in the Russian military could have attacked their own infrastructure in an effort to force Russia out of the war.

Russia relies on large amounts of heavy armour that require lots of fuel. So, if the fuel can’t be kept up to them, they will just grind to a halt.

These clowns have rocks in their heads, the exact opposite is true, prioritising maori is the opposite of equity.

Prioritising people by need is fine, by skin colour is not unless their is some genetic condition that puts maori at risk. However, a fat maori smoker and a fat european smoker have equal risk factors I would think. Just that there are more fat maori smokers about.

And anyway, figures out the other day said about 50 people died because of covid (as opposed to ‘with’ covid which is a much higher number). How many of these 50 were maori? Government obscures the data, so , anyone’s guess.
