It is to easy to poke fun at this governments failures, the list is just to long.

So I thought I would look at the successes of the evil tyrant.

Higher taxes, more regulations, fewer freedoms.

Now the poll numbers might say one thing, but I suspect that the undecided vote has increased add in the margin of error and you have a section of the voters waiting for the inevitable lolly scramble, what’s in it for me.

Expect the mother load of all election bribes.

  Regarding the Roy Morgan Poll IMHO if Winston gets 5% he will go with Labour/Greens/Maori Party. They will be so grateful he will get Deputy PM and Foreign Affairs. It will be his last swan song. He will be knighted at the end of the term. This way he gets to stick it to the Nats (remember 1993) and sticks it to Seymour.

    Te Pati Maori will have a real problem if they become the decider of who wins the next election.
    They are a party of protest which means they lose their voters if they become part of the government.
    Their hope would be for a minority government, which would mean greater power to influence without being part of the government.

    Everybody still got paid the same no matter how much work they did — just like under unionism.

    IMHO the 1984/87 Government was the best government this country has ever had. Under the Terrific Trio Douglas Prebble Caygill they freed up the economy slashed poor government spending and introduced good governance and fiscal responsibility.
    
    All governments since have been a pale shadow. For the past 35 years we have had poor governance taxes wasted on a massive scale a loss of individual responsibility a loss of individual freedoms.
    Again IMHO the country and society has gone backwards.

•4,423 miscarriages

The CDC claims that none of these deaths were caused by the Covid-19 vaccines, but their own data shows that 50 percent of deaths occur within 48-hours of getting vaccinated with a direct correlation between the number of deaths and the number of days after vaccination.

Ardern’s Government and the media are telling a lie of omission.
References are made to John Key’s National Government signing the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and so obliging us to co-governance.

    There is an irony in advocating a ‘Fijian model’. The Fijian coups successfully overturned a democratic constitution that might have allowed the ethnic Indian citizens to outvote the ethnic Fijians. This dynamic has since changed, with the economically crippling exodus of so many Fijian Indians. But ‘Fiji for the Fijians’ is entrenched now.

      It was meant to be ironic, while hinting at the real question: how do we reign in the current gov’t? What real power do we as voters actually have?
      I’m beginning to wonder whether votes should be tied to passing a basic civics test, would make a lot more sense than being tied to race.
      But back to our system of “democracy” – the current mob’s carte blanche has not been good for NZ, no accountability to anyone including the media, how do we fix it?

  Yvette: You miss the point entirely. ACT vehemently opposed signing the UNDRIP because we could see where it would lead in the medium and longer term. It is hugely significant that the wily Helen Clark also saw the future, and had refused to sign up to it.
  
  Key went ahead and did it anyway. Rodney Hide – whose opinion of Key is less positive than mine – has opined that Key was never much concerned about things that would not negatively affect either him or his government for the next couple of years. In other words, he was a short term thinker. Maori by contrast have always been prepared to play the long game.

  I suspect that any gain for NZ First will come from Labour. Those who support the right of politics will never trust Winston Peters again. NZ First may become a parking spot for voters who are upset with Labours failures but could never bring themselves to vote National. The Greens too may get support from that thinking. Labour ,NZ First and Greens getting 42% between them won’t bother me.

  I wouldn’t be at all surprised that at some point, probably a bit closer to the election day, Luxon will copy Key’s approach and unequivocally rule out National working with NZ First post election. That is probably the only way you kill any opportunity for Peters to sweep up disaffected right, centre-right votes. Key completely took him out at the knees when he did that – I suspect if English had done the same in 2017, it would have completely stopped the ‘Winston will keep National honest’ crap.
  
  The fact this guy is back at 4% despite his long history, is a sad reflection on the NZ electorate in my opinion.

German parliament rejects mandatory jabs for elderly:
Germany’s lower house has voted, 378/296, against a bill requiring anyone aged 60 or over to get vaccinated against covid-19.
Chancellor Sholz was last week forced to drop plans for mandatory vaccinations for over 18s as he couldn’t muster a majority.
Daily infections in Germany are high but have dipped in last week or so, with 201,729 infections reported on Thursday last week.

Two nights ago I watched a Taxpayers Union zoom meeting on the treaty partnership issue with Stephen Franks. Someone from the audience came up with a cool idea.

The Labour Party constitution has the following exerts on the role of democracy “All political authority comes from democratic means including universal suffrage with regular and free elections with a secret ballot. All people will have equal access…. to the political and legal spheres….the same basic rights apply to all people regardless of race…”

The idea would be for a member of the Labour Party to take a court case against the senior members for breaching those clauses of their constitution. I guess the outcome could be that the entire Labour caucus could be expelled from their own party.

At Stuff this morn Michelle Duff has a long rambling “boohoo women are all victims if criticised”hagiographic piece on PM Ardern, y’know, the leader who traded her political brand on the cover of Vogue and took her baby for a photo op in the UN chamber, etc.

Clearly Duff was not there during the Muldoon era when that PM was perennially known as “ piggy Muldoon”, comments about his shortness (“a shirt knight/night)”), his cheek ; didn’t notice any of the visceral anti-Trump coverage including endless comments about his hair, the Orange One, or Jim Bolger being called Spud cos he was Irish.

No ‘gender war’ then, just justified leftist attacks on leaders of the center-right.

No, when criticised as PM, Ardern is the victim of a misogynistic ‘right-wing’ conspiracies.

And how does Duff know all those Parl protesters were “ right-wing”? Did they do a survey?

  So for the first time in history the Opposition parties must not carry ‘anti-Prime Minister’ messages.

  Not to mention that John Key was regularly attacked on a personal level as was Helen Clark and every PM before that. The current PM has been more proactive in cultivating her brand with the Vogue shoots etc plus a ton of favourable press.
  
  Basically being savaged is part of the job description and has been amplified by social media. I don’t think it’s a great thing and would put a lot of people of running for public office.

  The problem I see a lot of though is that the justified dislike for Ardern politically, all too often results in criticisms closely aligned with her gender.
  
  Kiwiblog is a classic case in point – you could spend a day reasonably and rationally pointing out Ardern’s many political flaws and failings but all too often you read comments that are borderline misogyny….and a fair number that seriously cross the line. It can range from minor ‘stupid girl’ crap through to some pretty nasty comments.
  
  When thinking about Ardern’s high support amongst women, I remember a quote from the1980’s about all the bad guy dictators the CIA supported – something like ‘he may be a son of bitch, but he’s our son of a bitch’. I think the attacks on Ardern, particularly those that are borderline sexist, will just reinforce the ‘she may be useless but’ attitude amongst her supporters and encourage them to circle the wagons.

  1, Methane from farm animals is close to net zero as methane, which is supposedly our big issue, is degrading to CO² at the same rate it is produced in a completely carbon neutral cycle.
  2, Hydroxyl Ions produced by water evaporation/respiration from our temperate pastures is sufficient to oxidise not just every molecule of methane produced from animals grazed on that pasture, not twice as many, or ten times as many but more than one hundred times as many molecules of methane or other pollution.

Emotion driven reports such as this, which makes several assertions about abuse of women being a national “security issue”, do little to make a positive impact for anyone.
In the case of the current government, it is obvious that the pool of governance experience and ability from which to choose and promote leaders, is very shallow.
Very shallow indeed.
This applies to women/men/other.
Politicians who are being paid by the taxpayer but
who are ill equipped for the job, dictatorial, can’t answer a question and are super sensitive must expect to be challenged and held to account.
If they can’t cope with it, don’t blame the constituents.
Just saying: “I’m a man/woman/other and you must do as I say without question” doesn’t cut it – especially I’d they don’t really know what they are talking about.
Stop making excuses about having personal, health, gender issues and just get on with the job as a professional. Win some respect.

  Note to labour and reporters such as this – the entire Labour government is incompetent, and that’s not misogyny. Jacinda is the figurehead for that ire for people who want competent leadership, and it was the labour machine who made her that figurehead and promoted that perspective, because they knew that she is the only reason labour got elected and the only thing maintaining that popularity.

National promises three waters repeal as Canterbury town resident speaks out over dirty drinking water
The Opposition party has nailed a billboard in the Waimakiriri district advertising its pledge to repeal the laws, under which the government would take control of drinking, waste and storm water services and assets from local councils.
In the neighbouring Selwyn district, water the colour of weak tea still runs from the taps in the town of Springfield.

An implication is that National opposes the solution (“3 Waters”) which would solve Springfield’s problem.

(We are committed to ensuring all communities have access to safe drinking water every day. We also have an oversight role in protecting the environment from the impacts of wastewater and stormwater) This is an entity of “3 Waters” already in existence.
Does Christopher Luxon not know this?

This is the entity which right now should determine what exactly is turning Springfield’s water to pale tea, and presumably define what needs to be done, in current council responsibilities, to correct it.

That brings the issue to the point where council can fix it, or “3 Waters” would do a better job.

The new unheralded entity, Taumata Arowai, is the 4th part of “3 Waters” which science activist Dr Mike Joy said was missing, but is now first.
And it was “unheralded” because its existence should “blow out of the water” the whole “never repeat the Havalock North contaminated water disaster that so much of the argument for “3 Waters” is foistered on us with.

New Zealand has started into high inflation, caused mainly by the Government in effect printing money in a spendaholic outburst primed by fighting Covid.

And now, the Ardernists plan to impose on businesses red tape and responsibility for “slavery” — that is wages – in foreign suppliers.

The Government wants to create another Wellington bureaucracy to hound businesses and try to they are fighting slavery in places like Bangladesh, Ecuador and wherever else we source products from. There is no end to this: low-priced clothes for our kids, cellphones and computers from China, bananas from South America,cobalt from the Congo for hundreds of products.

The Labour-Greens are deranged, extreme socialists. What happens to hundreds of thousands of low-paid Bangladeshi textile workers if sales are cut off? They starve.

New Zealand’s clothing and footwear industries have long since all but died. The slave-labour rules will push importers and retailers towards higher price products, and that’s going to hurt NZ families who are about to have a really rough time in the Ardern inflation surge.

    My sister in law has a shop in Bangkok selling school uniforms at a fraction of the cost they go for here.
    They pay the factory workers close to min wage. Less than $2/hr

  I’m with the animal-rights people, the Greens, and whoever else wants to ban large scale live animal exports. I’m against it economically.
  
  It’s another ratshit export industry from NZ’s point of view, like the Chinese companies bottling our water. They have bought old agricultural-industry plants in the south to get water extraction rights.
  
  One example, the steep decline of wool scouring. It used a lot of water. Chinese companies have bought at least one dying plant for its water rights, and have brought in scores of Chinese labourers to do the bottling for export.
  
  The industry isn’t unrelated to the Three Waters hokum, with Maori wanting to join China importers in dominating our water industry.
  
  If globalisation is now retreating, as many commentators suggest, live cattle and bottled water exports should be scrapped.

      This is about ownership of resources, not about meeting market requirements. Water is valuable just as oil is. You don’t just let anyone come into the country and help themselves to its oil.
      
      There are limits to benefits of market freedom. Booming economies in the last half-century show that: West Germany after World War 2, China, Singapore, even Japan, and now Vietnam. All pretty much planned economies with strong intelligent State direction.
      
      Meanwhile, free-free market America’s dominant position erodes.
      
      Our farmers have been bright at building competitors. Our deer farming expertise has spawned rival venison and antler competitors in several countries.
      
      Our dairy expertise, down to Fonterra farms in China, has contributed to China being a larger dairy producer than New Zealand and to ventures such as the vast Chinese-Russian dairy farm supplying Siberia.
      
      If the goal is being a stud animal exporter, surely it’s more efficient to air-package semen or embyros than ship whole animals.

    The legislation’s whole purpose has been said by Wood and his bagmen to FORCE employers to raise wages. And he means to achieve this using the coercive power of the state and under the threat of punishment by the state.
    
    Surely ‘fair’ or ‘fairness’ in terms of any commercial activity is a rate or value mutually agreed upon by buyer and seller.
    
    The state forcing one party to pay or reward another party in a wholly voluntary transaction more that they are otherwise willing or able to is the very definition of ‘unfair’.
    
    Following your lead I think I’ll settle on ‘Labour’s corrupt and compulsory Union-payola wage extortion laws’.

  When the government forces pay increases for workers the government benefits through a higher income tax take.
  
  The affected businesses raise their prices so the workers who are a captive market for those higher priced products don’t gain much if any in the end.
  
  The other losers are the businesses that export and can’t increase their prices due to foreign competition. Fewer export dollars earned = lower standard of living for Kiwis.

Just been reading about the Wellington bar that’s continuing with vaccine passes (but only some nights a week so the implication is that covid is only contagious on those nights).

But it made me wonder why some people are so desperate to only mix with those who have been vaccinated. If a person is concerned about catching covid and therefore has been vaccinated to gain more protection, another individual’s vaccine status is irrelevant. With the vast majority of people being vaccinated, a person’s unvaccinated state affects them, not you.

It’s like having a bacterial infection and demanding that everyone around you take antibiotics.

    My initial thoughts
    1. It’s very likely they haven’t updated their website. Just a couple of days ago I was looking at a website of a cake shop which had a big banner saying which days/hours they were open over the Christmas break.
    2. Even if they say they require a vaccine pass the likelihood of them actually asking to see it is quite low. Between December and last weekend I’ve been asked for my vaccine pass once at the hairdressers and once at one cafe. Even when vaccine passes were compulsory and the cafe had enormous signs saying they must see the vaccine pass, they still didn’t actually ask to see it. I think the signs were to prevent anxious people complaining, but most places just get on with business. There’s some very anxious people who still say things like “unvaccinated people are going to kill everyone” but these people are increasingly in the minority. Eg 1 person at my work said this last week, compared to around 20 with this view 6 months ago.

The NZDSOS teachers and doctors lose their case. One of the key issues in the case was the safety of the vaccine. The judge reckons its “safe and effective.” I’m not sure he got this right. “safe and effective” is a marketing term that means approved by the fda. But in NZ it’s only provisionally approved. Eg. Medsafe has not seen fit to fully approve it. Not for delta or omicron. Not a year after the vaccines been in use in NZ or after they are recommending 3 vaccines. It is not fully approved. And Pfizer still has indemnity because it is still only provisionally approved. Provisional. Hasn’t been through a proper full process.

But Medsafe said it’s provisionally approved BUT we should trust it because their was safety data supplied and extra checks. Because usually provisionally approved doesn’t require any safety data but pfizer provided some. Regardless it’s still only provisionally approved because of a lack of long term health and safety data. Provisional. So who is the judge to say it’s safe and effective. And if Medsafe thinks it’s safe and effective enough to force on the public then approve it. Put the data and application through the full process and make it transparent. Stake your names and reputations on it. It may have had extra checks but it is not fully approved. And the provisional approval process requires no safety data apparently. So anything else was a bonus. Provisionally approved. Provisional. The medical body has not fully approved it. Provisional. So is it right for the judge to now say it’s safe and effective. If it was it would be fully approved. Pfizer won’t take the chance, medsafe won’t put their name or reputation on it, but you must take it or you’re rabbit hole dwelling conspiracy laden filth.

Here is what medsafe says about their provisional consent. “[111] The Pfizer vaccine has been approved in New Zealand under the Medicines
Act. As explained above, Ellis J considered and dismissed an application for interim relief associated with the approval although she identified an issue with the general availability of the vaccine under a provisional consent. She concluded that interim relief should not be granted. 58 When doing so she said:59 … it must be recognised that the process gone through here was not an orthodox provisional consent process—it went above and beyond. Although s 23 applications are not required to provide the s 21 particulars about the safety and efficacy of the vaccine, it is clear that those particulars were, in fact, provided by Pfizer, in part (no doubt) because an application for full consent
was also made. And it is difficult to see how the assessment process could, in the circumstances, have been more thorough. As set out above, Mr James’ evidence makes it clear that there were a number of layers of reflection and review in addition to those that would ordinarily be expected in a provisional consent assessment. The risks with which s 23 is concerned—and the reason for the restrictions around granting a provisional consent—have therefore been considerably diminished.”

So it wasn’t approved but the judge essentially says it’s safe enough. It went above and beyond they say. But still not far enough for full approval it seem, but safe enough to over ride the bill of rights.

From the judgement ” His evidence is striking, however, because he is the Medical Officer of Health at Waikato District Health Board. He has concerns about the safety of the Pfizer vaccine, and he significantly doubts its efficacy and has chosen not to be vaccinated himself, putting his job at risk. A key aspect of his evidence is that there is uncertainty about the safety of the vaccine, and that mandates are fundamentally inconsistent with usual medical practice and the principle of informed consent. ”

From Dr Bloomfield: “Data about the impact of the vaccine on onward transmission of Omicron is still developing, due to the time since discovering this variant and being able to observe the effects of booster dosing. As such, data are only available that assess the effect of ‘all vaccines’, not Pfizer alone. However, non-peer reviewed data from a small study suggests that vaccinated people infect fewer people in their household, which is a setting where many ‘exposure events’ are likely to occur” A small non-peer reviewed study!

Judge: ” Having considered the evidence I am not satisfied that the Pfizer vaccine has unaddressed safety issues.” But medsafe is satisfied there are unaddressed safety issues that’s why it’s provisionally approved. And it’s medsafe who is qualified to make a safety medical decision.

My 19 year old daughter was serving tables at an Auckland CBD eatery last night, a crew of a dozen mixed Islanders and Maori with one Indian guy walk in around 9pm.

The place was pumping and chocker and my daughter said “sorry, I can’t seat you all right now but I have one table for four free and the rest of you could sit at the bar and wait for a table to come free if you’d like….”

One of the group (a light skinned Maori by my daughters reckoning) said quite loudly “Nah, they won’t seat us ‘cause we’re black….”

Finally got to watch the ‘E’ channel last night.

I must say all this ‘gender-equality’ shite is getting a bit silly.
Apparently, there’ll be a new James Bond movie coming out, which will have 007 starting out as a man, but during the action will undergo Gender Reassignment Surgery and end up as a woman!

Due for release Summer 2024. Will be called ‘COCKTOPUSSY’

A Dunedin Bar is also still requiring them. So i did a quick survey last night at 11pm. Using google my business live which shows expected busyness of a company versus their actual live busyness. And the three dunedin bars i checked were all as expected normal busyness but the mandated bar had dropped by 1/3. I will check again tonight to see if there is a trend.

  A penguin was at the seaside for the day when his car started to break down.
  He just managed to get it to a mechanic’s before it conked out. Lots of steam and such.
  The mechanic was friendy but adamant. “I can’t look at it now, but if you come back in an hour I might be able to tell you what the problem is.”
  
  As it was a nice day, the penguin decided to go down to the seafront, check out the wildlife and the sights, where he got a vanilla icecream.
  
  Anyone who is familiar with penguin anatomy will know he had to attack the ice cream with his beak and well, made abit of a mess of it.
  
  Looking a this watch her realised it was time to check up on his car, so he waddled back to the mechanics.
  
  “Well did you find out what the trouble is?” he asked.
  
  The Mechanic looked up from under the bonnet and said:
  
  “Looks like you’ve blown a seal.”
  “No.” replied the penguin.
  
  “It’s only ice cream.”

The biggest and most damaging lie of this govt: Claiming that unemployment is down to historic lows. Since Labour came in official unemployed numbers have dropped from 125k to 93k a claimed ‘3.2%’.

Hidden in that bullshit is that they have switched 100k people to different benefits that have grown massively from about 180k when labour came in to 280k now A 35% increase. There are huge numbers now receiving what is effectively a universal basic income with no requirement to look for work, just sit around getting fatter, stupider and more miserable growing labour’s welfare vote base. Insidiously destroying their future prospects, hopes and their children’s potential with the half existence that welfare dependency creates.

The damage labour are doing to their voting base in this sneaky lying (to the country) manner vastly outstrips all the other destruction they are wreaking on this country in it’s terms of the long term negative consequences, financial cost and destruction of human happiness that it is creating.

We’re having a Street Party in my street this evening, both Kainga Ora families have moved on (intentionally or not, we don’t know). YAY!!!
Kids can now play in the street without the fear of being attacked by a fucking big half-starved dog, no all-night noise due to parties, no expletives shouted at pedestrians, and cars parked in the street will no longer be intentionally damaged.
A time to rejoice.

Fuck Jacinda’s government I’m afraid.

Son just got his brand new motorbike back, after it was stolen by the mongrel mob a couple of weeks back. Son is a student with no money,and this theft meant he had no transport around town and to uni. It had a major impact on his life.

Cops caught this mongrel mob coward turd riding his bike with no number plates. No doubt the punishment will not match the impact on my sons life.

Mongrel mob have done a lot of damage to my son’s brand new bike , put 1900km on the odometer. Obviously crashed it a number of times.

Makes me so angry that Jacinda supports the mob financially. I can’t stand this woman’s politics and the sooner she goes the better.

I detest the gangs with a vengeance, and I’ll back any party that vows to tear apart the gangs and put them all in jail if necessary.

  Dropping traditional honorics at this stage is probably cowardice in the face of the Woke who want gender free English.
  
  No longer any need for reportes to choose between Mrs, Miss, or Ms for second mentions of a person (these pronouns have long gone from first mentions).
  
  The next wave of change, neutral pronouns, will be harder.
  
  Using the plural “they” for “he” or “she” will he a challenging choice for news media. Use they for as a gender-free pronoun will brand the news medium using it as Woke, Liberal, and Grauniad-like. And not worth buying.
  
  Use of honorifics has been changing for many decades. At one stage, and perhaps in some places still, some sections of a newspaper, such as for sport news, might not use honorifics, while other sections used them.
