Covid-19: Government facing backlash over the decision to drop Covid – 19
framework.
Well the first thing I have to say don’t blame anyone but the Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and her Deputy Prime Minister Grant Robertson because the made this overdue decision solely on what the polls are saying on this and our economy.
New Zealand’s had a guts full of the Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and her Labour Government for there blatant disregard for peoples rights and how they have used it to devide New Zealanders.

  This is a very bad call on behalf of the principal in question. May not be illegal to have this person as a teacher aid but given his convictions it’s morally and ethically wrong.
  Also, what is disturbing for me is that the name of the school is withheld. I would be very unimpressed if this was at my child’s school.
  This principal needs to check back in with themselves on this decision.
  Surely there is a law in NZ that prohibits a person with a sexual conviction can’t work in places like this?

  This is a very interesting article, as I suspect there is more going on here, than the article provides.
  
  My understanding is that conviction for rape would automatically disqualify someone from holding this role or a similar role.
  
  I searched the article to find details of the conviction and I can find no mention of this. In fact, it carefully never says that he was convicted, only labelling him as a rapist.
  
  It could be a case that he was accused of rape, perhaps even charged with rape, but the courts either found him not guilty or dismissed the charges.
  
  I guess the point is I wouldn’t trust “stuff” not to call someone a rapist even if they weren’t convicted.
  
  He may have every right to get on with his life, until we actually have details about the conviction or non-conviction we don’t really know.

    The article is definitely light on information. But you would think labelling someone as a rapist would require some proof. (But that didn’t seem to apply to the former Speaker of the House.)
    
    Journalists often use the expression “convicted rapist” but that isn’t the case here. Of course, that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been convicted of rape. But maybe he was convicted of a lesser offence (sexual related) but Stuff has decided to embellish his conviction to include rape. This is not a well-written article as much information is missing.

      That is vague – was he 14 or not? Stuff has spoken to the victims, yet doesn’t seem to know how old he was at the time he committed rape. Was he convicted or merely warned?
      
      Offender warned (39 cases or 2 percent of all cases). In almost half of these cases the warning reflected the victim’s wishes, either that she wanted the offender warned or trespassed rather than prosecuted (nine cases) or that she did not wish to proceed with the case (eight cases). A further 12 cases were not proceeded with due to insufficient or conflicting evidence or consent issues, and the other cases had no clear reason specified.

    You can’t publicly call someone a rapist unless there is a conviction. Otherwise that’s slander.
    
    So he was probably aged 13-15 (16?) so that the conviction is in youth records and may escape scrutiny…

  Some points that may or may not be relevant:
  
  1. The principal is a woman, which surprised me. If everything in the article is true, it’s astonishing she would put her female pupils in such a dangerous situation.
  
  2. Nowhere in the article does it state the teacher’s aide has been charged or convicted of anything. This begs the question – are they allegations, or was he actually charged and convicted with any crimes?
  
  3. The article mentions one girl being raped and then, 18 months later, being raped again. Something doesn’t seem right about that.
  
  4. This is in $1uffed, so the correct default position is to question everything very carefully. It’s quite possible it’s just another of their hit-jobs.
  
  If the teacher’s aide has been convicted of rape and sexual assault, he shouldn’t be in such a position. From the article it’s impossible to say, which makes me question it – surely they would say a “convicted rapist” or “convicted sexual offender” or even “facing serious sexual assault charges” if the case is still pending.
  
  I strongly suspect there’s a bit more to it than what $1uffed is sharing.

        @Maggy: the article rules out 2 of the options you suggest:
        
        1. “The teaching aide met both young women while all three were students at the same Auckland high school.”
        
        2. Both girls appear articulate and intelligent, if their quoted statements are anything to go by:
        “One of the survivors, Olivia*, says regulations need to be tightened to ensure the aide cannot continue working in a classroom.
        
        “They were given advice from the police and they chose to ignore that. Clearly, something is really wrong and dangerous. The whole role is to support these children as they grow up, and [the school has] put them in danger.”
        
        Another survivor, Sabine*, says the school needs to be held to account for its decision to employ her attacker.
        
        “You have a manipulative rapist, around at least 30 vulnerable kids at a time… He’s in a position of power and you are responsible for him, you are letting that happen,” she said.”
        
        In any case, the hit-job has fulfilled its intended mission, the teacher’s aide has resigned immediately. No doubt there will be question os the Principal and BoT, as there should be in cases such as this. No winners.

Nurse recruitment, and Maori language

Has the on-going recruitment drive for Andrew Little on SHORTLAND STREET now become as entrenched and normalised as the delivery of Māori phrases in 1-News’ 6pm presentation. and to what effect really, in reality, of either?
At my age both slightly arouse my emotional hackles.
A weak daily reminder: this Government is all words and no actually delivery
What it does for younger people, I have no clue.

SHORTLAND STREET’s plot lines would seem to be rather counter-productive in inspiring would-be nurses – currently featuring medical incompetence (Jack’s diagnositic oversight), to TK’s sexual indiscretions effecting his administration, and his daughter Tilly’s under-age sex, leaving Madonna the only one clean enough to front for Andrew Little’s campaign pitch (“Yeah? Nah?” – interesting the first time, but increasingly boring and irritating ever since) and the male twerp who just stands there smiling, but doing nothing and says nothing to sell a career in medicine, which is likely to have the same effect – nothing.

Which leaves 1-News to represent the sharp end of the $200–600 million spent each year (nobody seems to know how much really) on preserving the taonga that is re reo Māori.

  And 1-News is becoming increasingly irrelevant and unimportant in an online era.
  
  My wife used to watch the news and the weather without fail, every night. But her preferred news sources now are all online. She still watches the news at 6 pm but is skipping over large chunks because she’s already read about the story online (or because the article is infantile and a waste of time).
  
  And when the weekend weather presenter a few months ago started using large swathes of Maori – which we simply could not understand – she gave up on that segment altogether and found a weather website that serves her needs.

      The Sunday girl may well be fluent, and good on her – but what’s the point if the viewers can’t actually understand what she’s saying? This has always been my argument – I have absolutely no objection to people talking Maori unless it’s inappropriate, and if you’re supposed to be presenting news or weather to a predominantly English-speaking audience, then it’s inappropriate. Because they can’t understand you. Which is why my wife gave up and switched to a weather website.
      
      I can only assume that the bosses at 1-News are all too aware that traditional broadcast television news is an increasingly archaic institution in an online world, and therefore – in a desperate attempt to hold on to their jobs – are seeking to please their political bosses by increasing the use of Maori language, and never mind the viewer.

  Cindy’s position to seek advice looks on the surface to be doing something but with no intention to do anything. This is all part of controlling the narrative and outcomes. Criticism is not in Cindy’s vocabulary.

  I commented yesterday that my partner’s parents in their 80s are now sick with covid after having had FOUR shots of the vaccine, the latest shot being only 6 weeks ago.
  
  John Campbell was enthusiastic about the vaccines 2 years ago but he changed his views as the evidence showed that they were pretty much useless with accompanying risks. At yet here we are in New Zealand still listening to ads on the radio imploring people to get vaccinated, even children.

      I do.
      One of the ways people keep up to date, and less lonely and isolated, is to listen to the radio.
      After the initial purchase, the radio doesn’t cost anything for old people on fixed incomes who may not be able to afford the latest iPhone.
      So yes, for many of the nice ordinary people I know, radio is “still a thing”.

Two random thoughts:

In all the coverage I’ve seen, there’s been no mention of what the Queen actually died of. Just imagine what speculation might have been had she died a few months ago.

And, you’d have to think that the two weeks of mourning is collectively a super spreader event like no other. Will we see a leap in infections? Or will, by its absence, this be a fullstop on the pandemic panic and the last service rendered to her people by QE II?

A question for the legal beagles on the site please :
NZ is a signatory to the UN declaration on human rights, where it is deemed ‘illegal’ to discriminate on the grounds of race. Is Te Whatu Ora now in breach of UN conventions by allowing anti-covid medications to be dispensed to 50 year old Maori, but Europeans must wait until the age of 65 ? If I ‘feel’ like a Maori when I next contract Covid, will this cut the mustard and can I then potentially access lifesaving drugs previously withheld on the basis of race ?

        The Tongans and Samoans are/have been classified as Western Polynesians. Cook Islands & NZ Maori, Tahitians etc. as Eastern Polynesians. There’s obvious subgroups within European as well – Nordic, Germanic, Celtic, Mediterranean etc.
        Things are pretty mixed up now, the Government have given up on trying to categorise so use “identify with” as their criterion. Whatever the hell that means.

  Souvlaki: a good question. The thinking behind this discrimination against non-Maori (“the other populations” as the Ardern government calls them) is set out in the legal opinion offered by the Ministry of Justice on the compliance of the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Bill 2021 with the Bill of Rights Act 1990 which implements the UN Declaration in New Zealand law, as follows:
  
  “The Bill could therefore be seen to draw distinctions on the basis of race or ethnic origins.
  However, to the extent the distinctions reflect the status of Māori as the Crown’s Treaty
  partner, and the Crown’s duties under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, we do not consider any other
  group is in a comparable position. The result of this assessment is that s 19 of the Bill of
  Rights Act is not engaged.
  
  26. Nevertheless, for completeness we have considered whether a disadvantage arises to
  any class of people. We do not consider that this is the case, for the following reasons.
  
  27. The relevant provisions are not designed to provide a specific advantage to Māori, but
  rather to achieve equity among New Zealand’s population groups. Addressing inequity
  does not result in disadvantage to those not already disadvantaged. As the Bill identifies,
  disparities in health services, access, and outcomes exist currently, in particular for
  Māori. This factor also supports our assessment that the Bill’s distinctions are not drawn
  between comparator groups.”
  
  In sum, this government considers its interpretation of the Treaty of Waitangi outweighs the basic human rights protections enshrined in New Zealand law which also reflect New Zealand’s international obligations. Secondly this government considers manifestly unequal treatment of non-Maori promotes “equity”. This the key to understanding where the Ardern government is taking New Zealand under “co-governance”.

    If a Maori and a non-Maori have the same health condition, being equally human, they both need the same treatment.
    
    That is what our health system should deliver. Anything less is unacceptable, whichever person is denied treatment.
    
    It’s time someone reminded these politicians and the tribal elite that all the funding for Maori this, that and the other, comes from the work done by ordinary New Zealanders (Maori and non-Maori). We work, earn income and pay the taxes that fund all of this.

Utterly ridiculous airport ‘security’ experience at Wlg this morning. Huge queue. We were barked at three times about laptops out, belts off, jackets including suit jackets off, shoes above the ankle off. I complied, and barely clothed with nothing on my feet or in my pockets went through the x-ray which pinged me. Off to the full body scanner which also pinged me showing something on my left side. Patted down and, obviously, nothing found. What an authoritarian charade.

  I noticed this on a domestic flight out of ChCh a couple of weeks ago. Totally over the top actions by officious jobsworths. First there were duplicate security screenings held at both the entrance to departure gates & then at the gates themselves. Then despite having excess staff at both checks they also only opened one lane creating unnecessary backlogs; they opened up the second lane just before the boarding call was made.
  
  The previous week I travelled internationally to Australia & there was only one check, no removal of belt’s & shoes & only random body scanning.

  My favourite was at Seattle airport where I was pulled aside so they could examine my artificial leg. The look of confusion as I was wearing shorts and it was blatently obvious I didn’t have one was priceless.

  Last year that Labour lover was giving out 8/10 to Labour ministers. This year it seems that even she can’t stand the embarrassment of pretending they are any chop.
  
  Apparently ‘Adrian Rurawhe’ is the top performing Maori MP. That will be no surprise as he isn’t a cabinet minister and has only recently taken the helm as parliaments speaker. Her superb rating system gives him the top award of ‘Exceeded expectations’.
  
  ‘Rurawhe has been the most successful of Labour’s Māori MPs when comparing expectations to actual success’.
  
  Wow so any old labour muppet can be a top performing MP simply by not being as usesless as expected.
  
  Peeni Henare – ‘Primarily valued for his oratory skills as the only native speaker in the Labour caucus, and being steeped in Māoritanga.’ Wow the quality, can speak Maori.
  
  Meka Whaitiri – ‘ working away solidly and competently since being reinstated as a minister this term’. Does doing nothing count as competency in Labour?
  
  Rino Tirikatene – She talks about his family history. That’s right, nothing to say about him.
  
  Tamati Coffey- ‘successfully reinvented himself to an issues MP in a similar space vacated by former colleague Louisa Wall’. What more can you say, gave up reading at this point.

  On this topic, I had a night out around Shoreditch High Street in east London. This is essentially a Courtenay Place restaurant and bar party zone. I didn’t once feel unsafe. Herds of people having a fun night out, but unlike Courtenay Place no menacing gangs or violent dunks. Perhaps I struck a lucky night, but I’d go there again anytime. I avoid Courtney Place mostly, and always after 6pm.

    All depends when that was.
    
    My sister has lived in Liverpool for 10 years and never had a problem, either, although the city has dodgy areas she simply didn’t frequent them. But in the last five or so years there’s been a real uptick in violent crime, especially with knife attacks, so she and her friends simply won’t walk the streets unless they are well-lighted and populated. They use taxis to go everywhere.
    
    The UK’s rise in violent crime is a Western phenomena made worse by the waves of illegal immigrants the Brits themselves let in every day. There are parts of British cities where you just don’t go, mainly Muslim, or Pakistani, which is code for Muslim.
    
    That’s just the way it is. The police are so woke all they can manage is dancing in Pride parades and arresting people who opine that only a man can have a penis.

Considering we expect the police to investigate crime and determine if a crime has been committed è.g with a burnt out vehicle to at least thoroughly check inside, why is the Police Commissioner Coster not being asked how 2 police officers overlooked a dead woman in a burnt out car. At least we have a right to know that they are being stood down pending an investigation.

Observations from the clown world of social media posts by government appointees.

On LinkedIn Matthew Tukaki, in his role of Director of the Office for Suicide Reduction posted about the imminent disaster to be caused by human driven climate change. He took this down after I challenged him. Then yesterday the Productivity Commission posted about how great it would be if we all learned Te Reo.

This is magical thinking. Pessimism about the future is a prime cause of suicide especially among the young. Anyone who works in business would know that poor communication, eg from language misunderstandings, is a leading cause of mistakes and low productivity.

Where do they get these people from?

  Exactly, Al Gore, the Greens and all the other climate alarmists have spent the last 25 years convincing many young folk that there will be no livable earth for them as adults.
  In doing so they have encouraged lack of academic achievement, loss of motivation to work, increased the youth drug and alcohol uptake flowing into excessive youth crime, drug dependency, mental illness and ultimately suicide.
  If only we could be a little more positive and a little less alarmist and explain to our kids that there is indeed a future and a potentially bright one at that.

Out-of-control inmates have caused chaos at Waikato’s Spring Hill prison, prompting a lockdown, and landing at least 20 prisoners in segregation after a series of assaults.

Newstalk ZB today revealed details of five separate incidents over the past fortnight alone, while the prison’s director says a review is underway and maintains “assaults on staff are unacceptable”.

The vicious saga has brought forward a visit to Spring Hill by the Corrections Association, which yesterday visited the Waikato facility to “sit down in person and pull information out.”

Corrections Minister Kelvin Davis has also been advised via text message about the events, the most dramatic of which occurred on Sunday morning.

But he told Newstalk ZB he didn’t follow up the text with a call.

“I trust the professionalism of Corrections to be able to manage these situations,” he said.

“The reality is, it is a prison.”

Kelvin’s right in one respect; prisons are bad places, housing bad people.

But you’d think, even on a weekend, he’d make a quick phone call to the prison’s director to check that everything was ka pai, and under control.

After ball, he was widely criticised for his hands-off approach to the Waikeria “prison disorder event” (a.k.a. riot) of a few years ago. This weekend seems just to be a case of rinse and repeat for the hapless Corrections Minister.

  My key takeaway from that is how his tune has changed.
  
  When he was in opposition, he was on the news every time there was a problem in a Serco prison. Now, whenever there’s a problem in a union-run prison, nothing. Crickets.

I was away for a few days and on mobile only. I had sporadic internet access so found it difficult to respond to comments here.
I had one response to a comment in particular from Colville which I found to be sneering and dismissive in tone.
They challenged my assertion that I have never worn a mask even once over the duration of this covid circus. I am posting to reiterate, I never did, ever. Even when I had to go to shops while at the Wellington protest. Wellington being one of the most militant masking areas in the country. I shopped at the Countdown at the railway station, was challenged at the door each time I went in by security, each time I simply said I am exempt and walked on in. If Colville is so convinced I wore a mask then contact the management there and ask them to review security camera footage. You will then be able to pick out those (there were many) who went in, did their shopping and left. All the time maskless.

I have never worn a mask against my will and never will, no matter what penalty someone wishes to impose on me.
I am not a deliberately intransigent person, but I refuse to play virtue signaling games, particularly when being bullied and coerced. I have always found that bowing to bullies only encourages them, best to stop them in their tracks asap.

On that note, here is a link to the excellent and clearly well qualified academic who writes under the psuedonym Eugyppius. Discussing the recent extension in Germany (where they live) of the emergency powers allowing states to impose severe mask regulations. It may be paywalled, try using “getpocket”. Very much worth the read but I will try and give the gist of it in a summary.

Masks are not a small thing. They’re not sensible and they’re not normal. They’re ugly, they stink, many of them are full of carcinogens, and they’re ruining our kids and our lives. It’s time to stop.

We have been doing this for a very long time now. That is pretty much the only observation I have left in me. We have had two-and-a-half years of recurring all-day masking regimens for schoolchildren. We have had two-and-a-half years of masking in the hallways of our offices, but generally not at our desks. We have had two years of masking on the way to the toilet at the pub, but not at our tables. We have had two years of non-sealing FFP2 respirators instead of surgical masks, although we’ve known since the beginning that SARS-2 is transmitted primarily via aerosols. We have had two-and-a-half years of masks failing every natural experiment that they’ve been put to, two-and-a-half years of masks serving as a pretence to ban protests, two-and-a-half years of social anxiety and unnecessary arguments with confrontational terrified old people, two-and-a-half years of mandated social isolation and anonymity, and it has all been for nothing.

This Science Following upon which we’ve embarked, has been a curious experiment indeed. It amounts to an abdication of our own sense and reason, in favour of some nebulous superordinate authority that is the only true source of knowledge about the world. For millions and millions of people, masks simply work even when they don’t, because The Science says so, and the mandates are necessary to prevent infections, even when they cannot, because The Science says so. Following The Science has turned us into a society of dead-eyed zombie lunatics, robbed of every last intellectual immune defence against absurdity. That might be the main reason that all of the policies ushered in under the banner of The Science are so blatantly ineffective, irrational and contrary to all evidence. Anything that makes sense doesn’t need The Science. People can be convinced of its importance in their own minds.

I know the mask mandates are (mostly) gone in NZ, but Ardern is retaining the ability to bring it back. My point is, masks are meaningless, virtue signaling of the very worst kind. They indicate nothing more than “something” is being done. They also allow the visible proof of support for Ardern and permit generally beige people to indicate they are “special” and they are “team players who care”.

Other than the rare case of someone who genuinely has serious health issues and who is terrifed thanks to 2.5 years of constant propaganda – (even though the mask will do nothing to protect them from covid) – there is no reason whatsoever to be wearing a mask.

This is pure logic. It is based on science. It is why I will never wear a mask.
It is nothing to do with my being “difficult”. It is nothing to do with my dislike of Ardern and her inane policies. It is not a political decision. It is simply refusal to play a game that has no relevance or impact on the realities of the situation and has no scientific basis.

    Thank you KK. That is correct, and we aren’t talking about a big boat. It was a very small boat, a large body of water, a lift to a friend and a borrowed car. It included getting tickets from the friendly Wellington police for “infringements”. All in all the best part was meeting up with the wonderful people at the Freedom Village, then krazykiwi and another commenter on this blog who were very welcoming and hospitable.

      Joely Doe – we operate from a very small area that Air NZ doesn’t fly from. The small operator was 100% militant in refusing anyone on board without a mask. It was dropped a couple of weeks ago after 2 or 3 people reported them to the Human Rights Commission who must have schooled them on what the legalities around masks actually are.

  If they truly believed in their efficacy, they’d still be wearing them.

    The only study that they can bring themselves to quote is the Bangladesh study of 300k people.
    Sounds impressive, a study of 300k to see who caught C19 and whether they were wearing masks.
    
    Trouble was, 1086 people wearing masks caught C19 and only 1106 people not wearing masks caught C19.

      For me it did.
      I still flew all over NZ and went to events which required masks so my daily life was minimally effected by these rules.
      Restructuring your whole life to just try and prove some righteous point which most others don’t actually care about anyway only punishes yourself and really is just tragic.
      Life is too short to get all wound up about non events such as mask wearing.

        Mask wearing made communication difficult and must surely have impacted education. Moreover it made next to no difference to infections. A family member was sent to work at another site where another worker infected him. He returned to his home site for one day before he knew he was infected and when he returned from isolation found he had infected seven people. Everyone was vaccinated and wearing masks. There have been various posts about Auckland Transport here before. From creating bus lanes that mean a car lane is done away with, to a $20k bus stop on a Gulf Island that has no buses. Well, not far from where I live, AT have put in a pedestrian crossing controlled by lights, making it a whopping raised judder bar. The crossing is on a longish, straight stretch of road with a 60kmh limit. Purportedly it was put there because of safety issues, as there is a retirement home right next to it, and both retiree’s and staff, who parked their cars on the other side of the road keep crossing the road stupidly. 150m down the road, there is a crossing at a light controlled intersection. So, AT in another moment of enlightened brilliance, have created for the few, an impediment to the many. Because the few couldn’t be arsed walking a while and need to be protected from their own stupidity.

  AT in Pukekohe have buses traveling round town all day long and almost always empty. At what point does someone do a business case and decide demand is not increasing. Economics 101 supply and demand, there is no demand so stop supplying and wasting our money. A local councilor told us patronage on some services had gone up 100%, but actual numbers mean they went from one person to two. Spend our rates on infrastructure like waste, water and roading.

  Lies, lies lies.
  
  Yes these are enough if the wind blows at full power all the time (ie. operates at its nameplate capacity).
  
  Reality is that wind power only produces a small fraction of its nameplate capacity. Less than 20%.
  
  If you want power the rest of the time then you still need to build a coal station (or nuke or whatever) to pick up the slack. Thus you need to build both. Double the cost.

  The problem with polytechs is that they themselves have created their chaos. They were once for trade training now they all offer courses on everything from business degrees to Phd in pet de-hairing (I jest but point made).
  
  If they all went back to their core business models and offered quality course training aligned with apprenticeships etc then they would be able to retake their autonomy.
  
  They went after the money, bums on seats and governement cash and that house of cards has tumbled…….

      I think the point is that, if the problem is misdiagnosed, and the “solution” imposed is for an entirely different problem, the result is an even bigger mess than there was in the first place.
      
      What I can’t figure out is whether Hipkins and co could not see this, or whether they simply didn’t care because they wanted to take control.

Went to the Fendalton Library this morning – all the checkout computers are programmed in Maori (for Maori language week).

Confused oldie in front of me couldn’t understand what was going on – even the instructions on how to reset the computer to English – were in Maori!!!!!

  Given the lingusitic eugenics currently embedded in this Government you may dind come Monday they stay in Maori and are not changed back to a language more than a larger majority of citizens actually use.

  Same thing at another Christchurch City library, 103PapPap, but no instructions how to change to English language.
  
  Finally found that little flags in the bottom left of the screen allow the user to set the language. The one under a pirate flag is worth trying.

New Zealand’s trading position with the world continues to worsen.

Statistics NZ reports the annual current account deficit has continued to widen. In the year ended June 30, the annual current account deficit was $27.8 billion (7.7 per cent of gross domestic product ), $16.3 billion wider than in the June 2021 year (3.4 percent of GDP).

The largest annual current account deficit before the COVID pandemic was $14.7 billion in the December 2008 year during the global financial crisis (7.8 per cent of GDP).

  21 babies handled by very different people in very different ways with no hint of control for environment etc hardly strikes me as a valid way of “proving” anything with science. The sample size is just too small and the methodology is far more robust.
  
  Still, with all the other attacks on what passes for science this is to be expected.
  
  I’m with you on your choice: boob is best.

  He’s also on the board of the Free Speech Union which is bizarre considering he posted this a year ago. Apparently “free speech” is only available to people who agree with him.
  He clearly wanted the unwashed “anti vaxxers” punished as hard as possible, he even says the Ardern government were too nice to them. What a lovely socialist he is. Have a read and remember these people.
  
  All very well for the sociologists and medical ethicists, but not at all helpful to a Government struggling with the problem of what to do with citizens who refuse to acknowledge either the validity of “The Science”, or their obligations to the collective welfare of the society in which they live.
  
  After all, the proudly vaccine resistant – the so-called “anti-vaxxers” – cannot even point to a brutalised upbringing in poverty as the explanation for their selfishness. In the avowed and proud anti-vaxxer, the state is confronted with the sort of reckless solipsism that it is actually dangerous to ignore.

Haven’t looked it all before and now, after yesterday so distressed at the top of the state of Queen street { being a country cuzzi} to see S & C with “beggars” outside and the lovely
arcade nearby with graffiti ………..so sad As a country cuzzi……. I was there before 10.00 opening and walked around to fill in time… I would never go to that area again Huge buses with 3 people going past for WHAT…… what has happening to this lovely country……….. sigh
