Andrew Little talks about Game Changes and the success Hospitals are having with the joint participant with Maori in our Country but is it all weasel words and bullshit as it doesn’t show in the real facts that Doctors and Nurses are complaining about on the job.

I commented yesterday on how Andrew Little is a failure but it seems this Labour Government holds him in high regard even though all he has to show for it is a ability to piss people off with bad policy and I know better than you attitude.
If we the public don’t stop these looney policies this Government are pushing like Three Waters, Co- Governance, and the demise of our Hospitals with other portfolio’s also in the firing line future Generations will suffer and will not be able to change the disastrous Laws Jacinda Ardern our Prime Minister and Maori want to push on us.

    @Captn… I can tell you the ED is pressure like you wouldn’t believe. Not having the support and recognition from MOH/do-little is a bit soul destroying. do-little is just capitalising on nurses natural kindness (real kindness) decency and care.
    Look at their pay dispute, he just drags it out. Look at the staffing non-solution. wood for brains is complicit in this.
    USELESS.

      I have close family working in the system as well. I am starting to feel that many are in a sense almost complicit in what is happening to the healthcare system. The recent pay settlement that the senior hospital doctors accepted was well below actual inflation since the last round, let alone accounting for current and future inflation. Staffing issues are largely due to far better pay in Australia, which leads to more staff, which leads to better working conditions. This isn’t rocket science. There is clearly a majority of doctors who are very left leaning, but unfortunately not enough to actually staff the system appropriately.

      Yes, wife is an ED nurse, they are losing staff at a high rate ( she knows because many nurses ask her for references) . They are not recruiting to keep up with the losses. Most looking for jobs overseas, some looking for less stressful jobs and some are just taking early retirement. It’s bad now and will get a lot worse soon. It takes time to get the overseas jobs and time to plan the move. NZNO says 33% looking at leaving !

        But this is what my husband heard this week, a group of Managers off on a 2 day jaunt. My husband is discussing what is going wrong in the country and gets on to the nurse shortage, an Auckland Manager in a subsidiary field of Health says ” We have heaps of trained nurses graduating from AUT but the Health Agencies wont take them on as they say they dont have the funds”.
        
        My husband says “That cant be right” and second Auckland Manager from a different background says “Well, actually I have heard that story too”.

  Little came to our hospital more than once – didn’t meet up with any frontline staff, doctors or nurses …. In fact, the only interaction with a medical registrar was when she was ordered by his security team, to vacate the lift she was in, so he could enter.

Some people are bad losers. That they can get paid to be a bad loser is a bit over the top. That it is you and I paying is criminal.

Poor silly old Simon Wilson and his one-eyed rag, the Ferald, fought Wayne Brown and backed Efeso Collins as hard as was possible all through the mayoral campaign. They ran a dirty tricks effort to keep Brown out. The attacks were relentless.

However we showed Wilson and the Ferald bosses just how absurdly out of touch they are with “on-the-ground” Aucklanders. Brown romped to power and Efeso disappeared back to Mangere. But did Wilson and his masters admit defeat and realise the error of their ways? No way. Today they have run a couple of pages attacking Brown, offering puerile, pedantic and irrelevant rubbish about Browns first week or so. Give up, Simon. You lost.

That’s what your money buys, folks. Jacinda gave journalism a heap of your hard earned cash for this nonsense. It would be pathetic and funny in a way if it was harmless. But be warned – a state controlled media undermining those elected by the people (especially any non-socialists) takes us way down the road of totalitarianism – rule by the elites.

  I disagree Souvlaki. Luxon is a marketing man. He knows he has to take votes off Labour, not compete with Act. This means he has to come across as like Labour but more sensible.
  He has already stated his position against the most destructive Labour policies. Coming across as a hard nosed right winger, while it may appeal to you, will frighten off the sandal wearing luvvies who once idolised Jacinda but who are now having second thoughts.

      National supporters of the right are a myth. Along with National is a broad spectrum party. That is also a myth.
      Under the first past the post National did have a lot of right supporting members.
      That came to a halt in the 1970 winters of discontent. National lost Rangitikei
      By Election. Sheep were slaughtered in Invercargill streets. Reneging on the surtax was the final straw for many. That void has never been filled. Peters, Dun were just a waste of space. Resulting in the current power freak in power now.
      Now we have MMP and it’s all changed.
      Luxon is doing the right thing. Looking after Heartland NZ and disenchanted labour votes
      If National is to left. National is not going to change. The voter can sit on their arse and not vote. And let Labour win again. like 2020 or vote Act.

    RJ: I tend to agree, as I’ve said before I work with overwhelming Labour lefties but many of them are aghast at Labour’s failures and incompetence (cost of living, law and order and health failures, co-governance etc) and do not want to vote Labour again in 2023 (and not the far-left Greens because these people I refer to are in the “middle”).
    
    So they are unsure of who to vote for at the moment. But I suspect if National don’t come across as too extreme they might get their vote (and the odd one may vote ACT due to David Seymour’s positive demeanor).
    
    As rough seas engulf Labour, some steady sailing will see National, and ACT, move away into calmer waters to relief of NZ’ers!

      When JK agreed that WFF was indeed an “entitlement” rather than a bribe, he cemented in labour policy. We now have 70s unionism, state funded media, and a UBI in all but name.
      
      But its ok because the Nats are “centrists” and won’t rock te waka!
      
      Sadly I can’t dispute the strategy – this is what MMP inevitably leads to. Pandering and bribing voters with borrowed money.
      
      But fiat currency and debt will only take you so far. Try and get an operation and discover how far NZ has gone backwards.

  I fear Luxon is going to lose the election. What he should have said to that Dunlop person is that unlike other Parties National will chose the best person regardless of race colour or creed. It will be colour blind. It wont insult the electorate or the person chosen by chosing the 2nd 3rd 4th or 5th best person.
  Governance of a country is too important to be playing games with candidate selection. In a fulyl functioning democracy only the best governors will govern effectively.

  The National Party members in Hamilton West decide who their candidate is going to be, not Chris Luxon. It is about time journos learned about National’s candidate selection processes and not assume they are the same as Labour’s (where basically Robbo calls the shots). The top priority for National is for the locals to select the candidate with the best chance of winning the seat. The time for cultural diversity is when doing the list rankings and again this is influenced by what potential National voters are looking for, not journalists bought off with taxpayers’ money. Chris is fully aware of the implications of diversity and does not need preaching to by Karl and his ilk. Anyway can Karl flip a hamburger better than Chris?

  Most of the staff on the trains are overweight. Twice this week my Hutt Valley train ran just 4 carriages in peak hour, squeezed in like sardines. 3 carriages were left empty. The train guard told me it’s due to staff shortages and staff to passenger ratio requirements. On the plus side it was so packed he couldn’t collect the tickets and we got a free ride home.

Teens rampaging through Chch carrying out vicious assaults on random kids. The videos being posted on social media that our media has access to are horrendous. One shows the same teenager walk causally up to a random kid walking home from school and then do a swinging kick to his head. Another shows a teenage girl repeatedly assault another girl at a mall and the other girl never responds once, but even while on the ground from several blows is then kicked in the head.

This is the caring transparent reality of life under Jacinda.

      Yep BY, I do laugh when the green public transport agenda comes up against a red light every time there is a story about violent assaults and cages needed to protect bus drivers in Tauranga, CHCH, Wellington etc.
      It’s not unlike considering using a 1970s roading underpass, perhaps some convenience in crossing the road, but you’re more likely to be mugged.

    The PM is quoted as saying it’s “extremely upsetting” lol.
    
    Well PM, I’ll tell you what is extremely upsetting is, getting your dairy ram raided for the 8th time with you’re family working in it! Or maybe getting a random violent street attack by a gang prospect, or even being a random victim of delinquent youth crime all for a TikTok credit.

  Over the past 50 years Governments from both sides have allowed an underclass to develop and in many ways have encouraged it. It started with the DPB in 1973 under Norm Kirks Labour Government. My wife was working at the them Social Welfare and cautioned the outcomes. These came to pass. That Government like every Government that followed think that throwing money at a problem will fix it and the more money thrown the better the fix. As a recent example I give the $1.9 Billion thrown at mental health. I have seen no evidence that this has fixed the problem. The issue is Governments dont plan and have preset conditions that will demonstrate what success or failure will look like. In the case of Labour they have removed KPIs so the outcome whatever it is cant be measured. It is not surprising the country now finds itself in this shambles.

“My hope is that now that they are out of Iran that the Government will do what other Governments have done; impose sanctions, expel the ambassador and make a strong statement on Iran,” Greens MP Golriz Ghahraman told media.

Meanwhile –
According to Mfat, there are 19 New Zealanders registered on SafeTravel as being in Iran.
It’s understood many of them have dual citizenship for both New Zealand and Iran.
An Mfat spokesperson confirmed three messages had been sent to the 19 individuals in Iran since protests began, the first on September 27, the second on October 6 and the most recent one this morning.
All three messages warned about the protests and provided advice about what to do. The last two messages also included the recommendation to leave the country.

Has parallels to her government, all noise building up to the trip, photo op’s on the ice, then the wheels fall off and she will be in full spin mode on blaming Nationals 9 years of neglect on aircraft maintenance.
Coming home to a shit-storm over the Local Government (Mahuta) report significantly changing democracy in NZ, health system in melt down, farmers getting strength in numbers now, and the latest fiscal outlook looking dire for NZ. If she turns up in parliament, its going to be a testing week for her.

  How much are these Charters costing us ?
  I would not like to be around when she was told that the C130 could not do her return trip – her temper is reputed to be foul at the best of times – am sure it hit the frozen fan.

    She won’t have chartered the C17. It would have been on its routine flight to and from McMurdo. When I went to the Antarctic in 2011 it was by C17. They are the most frequent aircraft to fly from Christchurch to McMurdo. The RNZAF C130 only does the flight once a week, at most. The C17 flights are are least three times per week.
    I imagine she first attempted to go by C130 to demonstrate that she would use a RNZAF aircraft by preference.
    
    A few years ago New Zealand had the option to buy the last two C17 off the production line. It was a great pity that the offer was not taken up (Treasury resistance). For instance the C17 can fly to McMurdo, orbit for up to an hour before having to return if weather prevents a landing. The C130 PNR is several hundred miles north of the Antarctic. The C17 could also easily fly our troops to the northern hemisphere, think for instance of the 140 trainers of the Ukrainians.

      The C130s are an embarrassment. It is ridiculous that they were not replaced 10 and perhaps 20 years ago. I know they are being replaced in 2024. The 757s are not much better. They are 29 years old.
      
      What is it with New Zealand governments they they can waste millions on ruinous policies, but cannot maintain even a very small airforce? It is embarrassing.

        BY with utmost respect to our service people, we must be realistic about NZDF capabilities. These are often challenged conducting and sustaining domestic civil defence. By example the apparent success during the Kaikoura earthquake was largely down to significant international support due to a coinciding military exercise in our region.

        You are asking me to ‘prove a negative’. It would be more appropriate if you posted evidence that the USAF ‘hires’ its C17s to New Zealand authorities.
        
        I do know that the USA and NZ programs in Christchurch cooperate, and that New Zealand personnel sometimes ride on the C17s. But that is quite different to New Zealand ‘hiring’ one.

        To clear things up:
        
        The National Govt in 1997/98/99 were looking at options to replace the current (1960’s) Hercules by piggybacking onto an Australian order of new C-130J’s (12 for Australia and up to 8 for NZ).
        
        The incoming Labour Govt in 1999/2000 cancelled NZ’s options to acquire C-130J’s, (although the Australians still went ahead with their purchase, they replaced two squadrons of older Hercules with one new C-130J squadron and one new C-17 squadron), preferring to further upgrade the current (1960’s) Hercules to extend their lifespan.
        
        So under Labour (Helen and Jim), NZ missed out on new C-130J’s that wouldn’t be breaking down as much nowadays (compared to the current 1960’s Hercules) and didn’t consider locking stepping with the Australians and acquiring a couple of C-17’s that would have proved invaluable for Antarctica work and other deployments …
        
        The incoming National Govt of 2008 found the (1960’s) Hercules upgrade project in a spot of bother due to issues with the main contractors but thanks to the Ministry of Defence’s perseverance and National’s support (shout out to Wayne Mapp and his successor Jonathan Coleman) they got the project back on track (and a number of other projects that Labour initiated, particularity Navy shipbuilding projects) and because the (1960’s) Hercules had been upgraded it was too soon to replace them during most of National’s term (towards the end instead).
        
        National (shout out to Gerry Brownlee) then tried to acquire C-17’s but as Wayne mentioned Treasury weren’t as supportive and put up roadblocks. By the time things started moving again it was too late as C-17 production had ceased and the final aircraft were sold.
        
        The incoming Labour/NZF Govt of 2017 then approved to purchase the C-130J replacements (in 2020 – it should have happened a year or two sooner) but one can be sure if NZF hadn’t forced Labour’s hand (shout out to Ron Mark) no doubt Labour would have dithered particularly as the Greens were not supportive of buying new C-130J’s.
        
        So here we are today, Labour has played a major part in the current state of the Air Force operating both broken aircraft and not investing in other more capable aircraft to supplement the Hercules (like the Australians have done).
        
        If Labour somehow manage to win the next election in 2023, expect more rubbish and bad media headlines about breakdowns into the late 2020’s/2030’s as no doubt Labour would rather shortchange NZDF and replace the 757’s with other worn out/second hand civilian airliners (instead of new military spec’ed heavy airlift aircraft with a useful rear ramp to load/offload heavy equipment. Such as the European A400M or better still the Japanese Kawasaki C-2).

It occurred to me yesterday that the media really revealed in a stark fashion that it regards its role to manipulate its ‘customers’. If we assume they are in favour of co-governance they should have been delighted by the recent announcements on local body elections. It should have been front page news….but nothing. Why? Because they know it’s deeply unpopular and so better to hide it. They are not news – they are propaganda.

Aren’t these things the root of all this sinister ‘co-governance’ and division being thrust upon us?

      The rest of NZ was promised consultation on He Puapua last May I believe after the Maori elite were consulted. We have seen squat since, other than further erosion of democratic systems through 3 waters entities being set up without passed legislation, Local Government proposing the desecration of local democracy in favour of 16 year olds and Maori elite.
      The fact no MSM are investigating, or reporting, on these proposed changes is chilling, and unless groups opposed star getting significant traction, we are stuffed as a country.

He is in your face about everything these days ( mostly bad policy and bad decisions) though I enjoy Erica Stanford wiping the floor with him on Fridays on the AM show. Christopher Luxon writes a weekly email to National Party members and supporters giving his take on the hot issues of the week. Yesterday’s missive ended thus:

Today, a report called “Future for Local Government” was released by a group commissioned by the Government. In almost 300 pages of mostly ideological waffle, there are proposals for mana whenua appointments to councils and a shift away from one person, one vote. National rejects these co-governance proposals, and any co-governance of public services. National is also committed to equal voting rights which are a fundamental tenet of democracy.

Kudos to Luxon for quickly and clearly stating National’s opposition to what was proposed in yesterday’s draft report from the Review Into the Future of Local Government. He has made it abundantly clear that National opposes co-governance of public services and any erosion of equal voting rights which he describes as “a fundamental tenet of democracy”.

If Labour continues to promote divisive, race-based policies, they will get a reality check at next year’s General Election, where these policies will be strongly opposed by National and Act. And if Labour’s Maori caucus think they have won, by getting the Prime Minister to consider such policies, they might discover it is a Pyrrhic victory.

  Co-governance by stealth is already well underway with Māori entities been given affected party status by Councils with respect to resource consent (subdivision) applications.
  So what happens is the iwi entity says “yes we are affected” so we need a cultural impact report, who writes the report? the iwi do because no one else knows about their culture and history. A simple CIR here was $150K.
  and how do you argue against cultural affects that are purely feelings in someones head?
  A farmer here had a huge stoush with Council and local Marae where Marae reps swore that a pool where 2 steams joined on Farmers land was used to wash bodies way back in the day and it had to be protected and Marae had to have vehicle access to it (and the beach to get paua). Farmer told Council to FO so it ended up in a hearing.
  At the hearing old boys from the Marae swore its all true and totally sacred.
  Then farmer comes up with photos of his son DIGGING that pool with a digger 20 years ago.
  It all was just an attempt to get dive on access to the beach.
  No apology from Council or refund of the tens of thou$$ spent.

    The average 16 year old probably thinks that it will be fun and easy voting in a local election until the get their voting packs in the mail. Then they’ll have to read all the biographies and meaningless platitudes of all the low-profile candidates they’ve never heard of, and if STV is introduced, rank them in order. And then there’s the other boards as well. I’m pretty sure that all this work is one of the main reason why the over 18-year olds don’t vote in local elections. They’re probably more likely to dismiss it as hard work and get their parents to fill in the forms for them.

I disagree, iMP.
Given that mysticism is paramount to science in this country, we learn that the weather gods frowned on a pointless trip to the Antarctic at a time when the country really needs focussed leadership. We learn that the karma gremlins are sufficiently astute to realise that we won’t get that kind of leadership from Ardern and somehow contrived to disrupt the workings of her aircraft. And then we learn that the Italians are running some sort of shuttle service for stranded politicians.
Why is it that so many planes/flights associated with the PM seem to go awry? I am sure that this isn’t the first, second or even third time.

Is the Jackson’s redefinition of democracy not simple because when the Treaty was signed, in 1840, Maori were a majority of over 90 percent of the population, and non-Maori were considerable less than 10 percent, and that has now reversed to about 83 percent non-Maori to 17 percent Maori. with many of mixed whakapapa among that number? – “there is more of us than you” versus “we were here first”
If the Treaty is a “living document”. it sure didn’t see the simple but fundamental change in population portions.

  Alex – Have you asked yourself the question that if the useless, demoralised, ragtag Russian army is being so mauled by the Ukrainians and its NATO advisors, why is it necessary for the US to send tactical nuclear bombs to Europe? BTW the US is the only nuclear power that has a “first strike” capability coded into their nuclear plans. All the others have only a “retaliatory” response codified.
  
  My reading of the news from Ukraine outside of the British or US media paints a very different picture to what you believe. They reveal that the Ukrainian army has suffered enormous losses of men and equipment at the hands of an army (special operation force) of about a quarter of its size.

The authors wrote this: “However, the resulting mitigated epidemic would still likely result in hundreds of thousands of deaths and health systems (most notably intensive care units) being overwhelmed many times over. For countries able to achieve it, this leaves suppression as the preferred policy option.”

It was complete unadulterated bollocks. Never forget, Hendy and his pals at Te Pūnaha Matatini (who got $6 million dollars of government funding) repeatedly compared their models to Ferguson’s to show how “reliable” they were. Can we get our money back? Can Hendy be arrested?

As predicted, the whole covid narrative is collapsing and the useful idiots who fully supported it now want us all to shut up and pretend it never happened. That decent people weren’t discriminated against, segregated, demonised, vilified, smeared and punished, beaten by police etc etc.
Well all of this did happen, and it isn’t going away until their has been a full admission of the wrongdoing and a genuine apology, along with an absolute guarantee that nothing like it will ever happen again.

  One must never forget what was done to us by our governments. They have inflicted on us a “vaccine” that is neither safe nor effective. It is a therapeutic agent that will have long-lasting, irreversible and life-altering side effects about which we were not informed. They took away our bodily autonomy, our freedom of movement and association, they imposed on us non pharmaceutical measures that have caused more harm than good – especially to our young, and they are in (wilful) denial about the side effects and death they have caused. ..And they have used this “pandemic” as a means to impose a digital ID, CBDC and a WHO pandemic treaty that will disempower us and remove national sovereignty.
  
  The question that has bothered me most is “why have the governments around the world been so hell-bent on getting everybody vaccinated?”.
  
  Dr Robert Malone has gone some way to answering this question in this video on his substack. It’s an intriguing 1 hour.

I have so many “friends” who now can barely look me in the eye. They just want it to all go away. I think they are slowly realising the level of complicity they share regarding much of what happened.

Was sustained psychological manipulation utilized to create fear and coerce the public?

Were Covid symptoms genuinely unique or were we being conditioned to believe there was a new disease?

Were statistics about Covid deaths being manipulated to create the perception of a crisis?
Were lockdowns about protection or social control?

Did lockdowns reduce deaths or cause increased mortality?

Was there ever any evidence for ”asymptomatic spread” or was this overstated to frighten the public?

How did we go from “two weeks to flatten the curve” to permanent emergency “laws?

If you have to be persuaded, reminded, pressured, lied to, incentivized, coerced, bullied, socially shamed, guilt-tripped, threatened, punished and criminalized. If all of this is considered necessary to gain your compliance — you can be absolutely certain that what is being promoted is not in your best interest.

How much has the PM’s junket to Antarctica cost the taxpayer?

We had the aborted flight on Monday and then yesterday the news broke that her Hercules had broken down but surprise, surprise there was an Italian charter executive jet conveniently on standby to bring Ardern and her entourage home. I’m certain that I spotted that charter jet enroute to McMurdo on Monday on FlightRadar24. So has that aircraft been ‘on call’ all week in Antarctica and has the return flight always been planned to use the charter aircraft rather than the Hercules? I’m sure that the Cristal Champagne, caviar and lie-flat beds will suit Jacinda and Clarke far better than webbing seats and an RNZAF lunch box.

By the way the ‘royal party’ has taken off and is enroute to NZ.

  The Captain may be right, the Italians also use an A319 charter aircraft from Australia I think to support their Antarctic operation. It was based here in Christchurch a couple of weeks ago. Either way the aircraft may have been coming back empty after a freight or personnel run. The bigger issue is that the RNZAF don’t have newer aircraft available that are able to sustain the low level of operations they do. My own view for what’s it’s worth is that the RNZAF should have a good sized corporate aircraft available for the government of any party to use to move the PM and their support people safely and securely around NZ and offshore. Leave the Hercules and 757 to do what they do best, move their stores and personnel around.

  He then had to endure years of speculation regarding her relationship with Charles, and her reported relationships with other men , especially the one who is reputed to be ( and probably is ) his actual father, James Hewitt.
  
  The worst thing he and his brother William had to endure were the rumours regarding the possible involvement of the senior members of the Royal Family in the calculated death of his mother, due to her relationship with Middle Eastern tycoons of doubtful character.
  
  This is what I suggest: I would not be surprised if Harry decided to exact revenge for this in a most apposite way: before this happened probably the most infamous event regarding the Royal Family was the abdication of King Edward XIIIth when he chose Wallis Simpson over the Monarchy. For love. And thereby gave the Royal Family the fingers !
  Wallis Simpson, divorced more than once, American, high-society profile.
  Meghan Markle: divorced, American, film-star celebrity.
  Coincidence?
  One other thing: if Harry’s father was NOT Charles but James Hewitt then Harry actually has no Windsor royal blood in him: his mother , Diana Spencer, was not royalty.
  So Harry may be no more than a commoner after all !

Noah has the excuse of being a comedian. But the New York Times’ coverage has been almost as ludicrously slanted as its usual coverage of post-Brexit Britain, and it quickly ran two op-eds by British leftists trashing Sunak. Every story that refers to his ethnicity always slams his class “privilege” — i.e. that his parents were middle-class children of immigrants. This morning, the paper ran another hit-piece on Sunak’s wealth. The only benefit of his Indian ancestry appears to be that he will help the Indian diaspora in Britain itself. The incredible arc of imperial history finally coming full circle? Barely a mention.

Because of course. Barely any mention of the other non-white members of the Tory cabinet either.

Sounds like NZ MSM, as noted by Karl du Fresne in his piece on Luxon’s reaction to the whining about National’s “lack of diversity” and other BS.

The 61 year old man killed by a teenager at the bus interchange in Christchurch was “extremely upsetting”. The dozens of people who had their cars stolen in Christchurch – that is also upsetting. I have not heard Jacinda empathise with any of the victims of the crime wave in progress in Christchurch.
