Here is a couple of Paragraphs from News Talk Chief Political Reporter Aaron Dahmen in the Herald this morning that is short of the “Truth”.
The Front Page: One Year in- can Christopher Luxon beat Jacinda Ardern.
The latest polls have shown Luxon with a preferred Prime Minister’s rating of 21.5% compared to 29.9% for Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, Dahmer says Luxon will have hi work cut out for him in beating Ardern in the area she excels.
“The lack of experience in the Beehivemight be a draw card for some voters, but you need to be careful in the final run-into next year’s election. That Ardern’s bread and butter she literally won the 2017 race in from a standing start, she wasn’t even in the blocks”.

How can a Chief Political Reporter tell this story when their wasn’t even a race for Labour and Jacinda Ardern in 2017 she was elected Prime Minister by NZ First and Winston Peter’s and Bill English wiped the floor with Jacinda Ardern in the debates leading up to th e 2017 Election.
But will agree with one thing about our Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern if you win votes with lies Jacinda would be the Champion as their has never been a Prime Minister that has told so many in I believe in New Zealander’s Political History.

    I am asked to vote for my local MP, and which Party I favour under the MMP system.
    And Ardern is not my local MP.
    So sounds like Dahmer – whoever he is has been bought off too !

    A Chief Political Reporter who doesn’t understand that nobody votes for Prime Minister in this country is possibly more of a worry. Yes, we know that the Leader makes a massive difference, but they are elected by their caucus – in the case of normal parties, at least; Labour’s is anointed by the unions and members mostly.

Since Winston Peters has said –“We are not going to go with the Labour Party, this present Labour Party crowd, because they can’t be trusted. You don’t get a second time to lie to me, or my party and they did” [1] does being lied to by Jacinda Ardern and her colleagues in coalition with him, seem as demeaning to his reputation as the leaking of his “tax details”, which Winston described, at the time, as being – “… dirty, it’s rotten, it’s underhand, it’s just unethical, it’s illegal. Worse than that it’s in collusion with some media outlets as well” [2]

It could seem in fact that the superannuation mistake was actually of small importence – Winston immediately flew Wellington to Auckland and fixed it within 24 hours. Done and dusted, and should have stayed that way.

The Labour lie, however, is Ardern, Mahuta, Jackson and Labour’s doing – it is theirs to fix, but I doubt that will happen.
So, in next year’s Election campaign, will Winston seek redress, make a issue of it, or if he doesn’t will potential voters question him continually to reassure them of his position?

Will Winston, with his tenacity as displayed in his Wine Box pursuit of Truth, expose Pipa Mahuta chairing the Maori Advisory Council “total governance” position, presiding over Water Regulator Taumata Arowai, and their presiding in turn over the Four Regional Entities of “3 Waters” where the current issue of “co-governance” will occur,
Will Winston go for the top, the jugular of this issue – Pipa Mahiuta’s position of “total governance” – which everyone else is ignoring?

I see in the UK they are buying wood burning stoves to help heat their homes and do some cooking. Wood burning stoves are old technology that people are having to fall back on as green energy is a failure.

According to the conservative Powerline blog, green energy doesn’t produce enough power and only does it intermittently.

They say you could cover the whole state of California with wind turbines and it would only meet half of the energy needs of the United States. Our government is going to spend millions of dollars on wind turbines.

Common sense tells us green energy doesn’t work. At 7.30am here in Masterton, as I write this, the wind is not blowing, the air is totally still and it’s a cloudy morning, the sun is not shining. So there will be no wind or solar power as people get up, have their showers, boil their jugs and cook their breakfast. The electric car will not have charged up last night.

Green energy is a failure. Do we literally want to return to the dark ages?

  Installed a woodburner (old concept, but new tech – mine is a low emissions one) earlier this year, because dissatisfied with the performance of my two year old, 7.2kW heat pump. Used about 3.5 cubes of wood (a mix of dry pine and gum) and used it every night from May to late September. Heats the whole house, which is single glazed, 1970s build, insulation floor and ceiling only, beautifully. I think they are having a resurgence here, too. Was a bit of a waiting list for an install.

    Likewise dubya. I installed mine about 5 years ago, and hardly use the heat pump now. But hanging onto it because – y’know – ‘climate change’ is gonna make it so hot by 2030 that I’ll have to have it on reverse cycle to cool us down. //
    Actually, I like the heat up to about 35 deg.C from my years in Australia being a roofing contractor then a builder. Often worked in 42 – 47 C. when working out in central NSW – that was a bit bloody hot.

  The Green crowd will tell you that the solution is storage, that sufficient storage will bridge the time gap between when unreliables* generate dispatchable energy and when people actually use it.
  
  This works in theory if you have reliable generation that can meet gross demand but falls short on peak demand.
  
  In that scenario off peak surplus can create a hydro battery for dispatch at peak time.
  
  Problem is, charging the battery (hydro or otherwise) requires:
  
  a) Energy being reliably available off peak.
  b) Gross demand + storage losses being met by unreliables*.
  
  Most “storage” advocates seem to think the storage will arrive full and magically replenish.
  
  *Unreliables refers to wind and solar generation to distinguish between reliable renewables like Hydro and Geothermal.

  It is OK if you can store the energy to ‘make hay while the sun shines’. The existing network of hydro stations already provides this buffer storage to support wind and solar power. Admittedly this capability is not infinite but it is sufficient for the near future. Those who develop their own renewable energy sources generally need a grid connection or a fuel driven generator as backup.
  This is why the Lake Onslow project is being promoted – to provide buffering for wind and solar energy and to buffer hydro power for dry years. However the proposal does not seem cost effective compared with other storage options.

      Yes peanuts compared to Hydro. But our electricity usage is shooting up and we cant / wont build more hydro. All new power generation is Wind.
      
      My point is that we cant hope to provide the power we need from Wind at the current rate. Thats why we have been burning more coal than ever under Labour.
      
      Re Nuclear, yes its a great option. But I struggle to see it get acceptance here. Never udner the Greens and labour. Under National Act maybe but it might be a political poison pill. Most New Zealanders views on Nuclear were formed in the 80s and people just dont follow it / udnerstand it.

        We do not have sufficient Hydro power to back up the wind and solar capacity we already have.
        
        That is why we are still burning coal.
        
        For every megawatt of wind or solar that they add to the grid a megawatt of back up generation also needs to be built.
        
        Grid scale batteries are prohibitively expensive. Pumped hydro is very expensive, inefficient and there are very few places where it can work.
        
        Without sufficient back up power, wind and solar means blackouts are coming.

  MSD does pretty good reporting, including on emergency housing. See the below link for October 2022, along with some trends over time.
  
  Some stats of interest –
  
  – biggest number of households – Waikato region. There is a note in small print about some in Rotorua not included.
  – almost all of the primary applicants are working age (not necessarily working)
  – more than half have no children, mostly single people
  – recording ethnicity of main applicant, check for yourself.
  
  Reasons not reported except at a very high level, fair enough I guess. But have to wonder why for example there are so many working age singles.

    It’s maoris, of course.
    
    And not by a small amount either.
    
    16% of the population results in 52% of the emergency housing applications. That’s 14,447 out of 27,783 applicants. As a side note, remember when this government took over this number totalled less then 5000! What a wonderful job they have done.
    
    But apparently the way to fix this is for white people to fart out a few words in Maori when they talk, particularly those that are public facing and definitely force this on kids instead of teaching them to read or do maths.
    
    Nope, the way to fix this is to give them more money to make bad decisions with and instead of fixing this at the source (with quality educational outcomes like we used to have) the next step will be compulsory employment of said 16% in favour of horrible whitey (or asians) regardless of skills and experience or lack of ability to read and write and do maths.
    
    Oh you may need to pay overs for the privilege as well because why should someone who actually went to school and worked hard and has abilities in the role get paid more than a diversity hire…
    
    Don’t laugh, I know of examples where there is already pressure to hire based purely on skin colour. I thought we had moved past that but I guess not.

So the government has thrown out much of its proposed hate speech regulation excepting they plan to push ahead with rules regarding religion.
My thoughts are these regulations are to prevent “racists” from saying marrying your 12 year old niece is a bad thing, or blowing people up in the name of peace, or murdering someone for leaving your cult shouldn’t be allowed.
However what might the proposed rules mean for the attacks the LBQUERTY lobby is currently running in the Ferald against Bethlehem college for being faithful to the precepts of their religion? Will protections under the act necessarily exclude Christian and Jewish organisations?

Would the Establishment throw an election to get the Republican party they want?
In the total vote the swing against the Dems is what would be expected, but it didn’t translate to seats in the house.

  MHJ could have done this years ago but only chose to recently due to increased burglaries/raids on their stores in daylight. You could then say MHJ has gotten away with their security on the cheap for years. they will of course pass these costs onto the customer as now I would say their insurance premiums have skyrocketed. A Gisborne couple are recovering from a violent attack in their home carried out by four men in search of alcohol.

About 9.30pm on Saturday, a couple in their 60s were at their Park View Place address in Riverdale, when a dark-coloured large car or people mover reversed into their driveway.

Four men, described in a police statement as between the age of 18 and 20, got out of the vehicle and confronted the man at his front door, demanding he give them alcohol.

Even the wilfully blind would admit Luxon is a flip-flop artist and last week was no exception. He must have taken many deep breaths to restrain himself from saying that headmasters would also go to “boot camps.”
That Nats have too many people jabbering about nothing or repeating the same stuff. At least Labour appears to realise there is public fatigue with itself, petty politics generally, and some of its more frequent public speakers. I would say they may have mildly panicked and then decided to reset, the product of which we are likely to continue to see deep into the new year. They have been a disciplined caucus for some years while National has been anything but with cracks now causing some MPs to appear to backtrack or remain silent on some issues.
I think Jacinda showed her skills well at Apec compared to Luxon’s domestic performance and the ever-sly Peters sensing the chance to fire one across her bows to see which doors might be a little ajar for his potential advantage.
Whereas 5 years ago Labour was inexperienced, now they are not and it may be true that the Nats convinced themselves that a Key protege would do the job. I don’t think Luxon has it. He may end up looking like an entitled child among his peers in kindergarten pointing fingers over stinky smells.
It’s going to be an interesting year during which some will listen to static for imagined meanings and others will be more measured as the times require.

It is a slow day in a little Greek Village. The rain is beating down and the streets are deserted. Times are tough, everybody is in debt, and everybody lives on credit. The guy at the Farmers’ Co-op takes the ¤100 note and runs to pay his drinks bill at the taverna. The tavern owner slips the money along to the local prostitute drinking at the bar, who has also been facing hard times and has had to offer him “services” on credit. The hooker then rushes to the hotel and pays off her room bill to the hotel owner with the ¤100 note. The hotel proprietor then places the ¤100 note back on the counter so the rich traveller will not suspect anything. At that moment the traveller comes down the stairs, picks up the ¤100 note, states that the rooms are not satisfactory, pockets the money, and leaves town. No one produced anything. No one earned anything. However, the whole village is now out of debt and looking to the future with a lot more optimism.

That’s fine and dandy if they do get that right, but how about the responsibilty for any criminal activity which currently is not treated as adult. Can’t have your cake and eat it.

    Laws that has existed for 100 years would have been changed by parliament if that was there intent, or if there was a democratic majority in favour of it. There are no limits on the powers of parliament in NZ because they answer to the people. Same cannot be said for Judges and so their circle of power is much more heavily constrained.
    
    Judiciary, stacked with agenda pushing left-leaning ex lawyers, need to learn to stay in their damned lane, or they should be replaced by non-activists that understand the proper role of the judiciary in a parliamentary democracy.

  Obviously, the Bill of Rights Act is not Constitutional so this means nothing.
  Also, from the Act itself:
  
  “4Other enactments not affected
  No court shall, in relation to any enactment (whether passed or made before or after the commencement of this Bill of Rights),—
  (a)
  hold any provision of the enactment to be impliedly repealed or revoked, or to be in any way invalid or ineffective; or
  (b)
  decline to apply any provision of the enactment—
  by reason only that the provision is inconsistent with any provision of this Bill of Rights.”
  
  So the Act itself explicitly says that the Government can ignore the Bill of Rights.
  
  Note that the Human Rights Act disallows discrimination based on age from the age of 16. Again, the Human Rights Act is not Constitutional.
  
  It also states that the Attorney General should advise the Government if a Bill breaches the Bill of Rights.
  
  The big problem is that, logically the BORA cannot breach itself, especially when a specific provision is inconsistent with a general provision (I’m not a lawyer, but specific usually trumps general in legal decisions I’ve seen)
  
  The Bill of Rights Act includes the following line:
  
  “12 Electoral rights
  Every New Zealand citizen who is of or over the age of 18 years—
  (a)
  has the right to vote in genuine periodic elections of members of the House of Representatives, which elections shall be by equal suffrage and by secret ballot”
  
  So, they’re saying it breaches itself based on a general provision (you can’t discriminate based on age over 15) but ignoring the fact that it explicitly states that the age is 18.
  
  The Supreme Court is a joke.

    So, they are saying that the BORA only blocks ages above 18 being the minimum age and therefore, they can lower it despite the BORA specifically stating 18.
    
    A couple of issues:
    The Electoral Act only says adults can vote. The only place the age is stated (from what I can tell) is the BORA.
    Therefore, to lower the age you would effectively create a new minimum (by changing BORA) or add extra layers to already existing law (The Electoral Act).
    AND BORA states the age is 18. It doesn’t matter that the age could be lower because the only Act stating the age is the BORA and the BORA is by definition consistent with itself.

    That might be true. But I have met some very impressive 20 year olds and very stupid 50 year olds.
    
    I think the main argument against 16 and 17 year olds voting is that they have no real stake in the quality of the Government. They are at school. I guess they could vote for parties that promised to fix the education system. But they are much more likely to vote to “ban” things like oil and gas and to be given “free stuff”. And guess which Party is the epitome of banning things and giving away free stuff?

    “….it is important the public appreciate that what is made is a declaration of inconsistency, not illegality. Parliament is the sole arbiter of the content of legislation; the courts are the sole arbiters of legislative interpretation. The declarator jurisdiction requires the courts to identify, for parliamentary and public attention, cases brought to it where Parliament has passed primary legislation that, duly interpreted, takes effect in a manner inconsistent with the Bill of Rights. In some cases Parliament will know that already, because the Attorney-General will have told it so under s 7, any judgment then serving as authoritative confirmation of that opinion. it looks like mayor Wayne Brown, Ak council have gone all quiet on the investigation into Panuku based on a formal complaint made by Ngati Whatua ki Orakei’s Whai Rawa, Chairman M. Stiassny.
I’m guessing Stiassny already knows the answers to this and is waiting to swap notes and scrutinise the PwC report once it arrives.Which is nearly two months overdue!
And then, with regard to the call for an investigation into the IMSB election.
Its a case that Majurey cant deny as its happened before and you could assume Goff and his exec’s dragged their knuckles on the investigation for nearly the whole duration of the term. But this time Majurey’s pissed so many people off from all quarters, he’s finding it difficult to stay under the radar. And he’s in a teritorial biff with Tainui-Waikato, NWO, over Tamaki, and the Manukau Harbour, Waitemata-Hauraki Gulf and Tikapa-Firth of Thames and the Great barrier Island too. He’s got an affliction to claiming ‘manawhenua’ status everywhere but no iwi can claim that in his rohe. You’ve got to ask the question how does that work?

As well his conflicts of interests in a billion dollar bundle of housing developments with Ockham.

And then piss’n of the iwi in the Taranaki with his work for the Crown for offshore mining applications.

So yeah, its hard for him to continue to fly under the radar.

So Brown needs to get his act together pronto.

When Sean asked him why he thinks some countries are no longer jabbing younger people, and why is there resistance or concern about the vaccines, Michael replies “over time all drugs and Pharmaceutical products and vaccines particularly, because they ain’t given to healthy people, so it is very important you are balancing benefits and risks”
Seriously, we didn’t jab any healthy people? So 80% of New Zealanders were not healthy?

National Party leader Christopher Luxon has added to his growing list of people who should take responsibility for the truancy crisis, with parents in the firing line.

Luxon’s pointing the finger at parents and has no time for excuses.

“You chose to have these kids, you have to wake up at 7am, get your kids to school at 8am,” he said.

“You have now got subsidised free lunches, free breakfasts, subsidised period products, subsidised school uniforms.

“There is no excuses. What we have in New Zealand is a culture of excuses.”

There is a certain bunch of couples in New Zealand that breed for the money that is available after birth, and like Nationals Leader Chris Luxon said tonight on TV that if you have children you are responsible for them whether they are waging School , committing crimes or taking part in Ram Raids and whether you like it or not Parents in today’s world couldn’t care less so it time for them to be held to account for their children.
  When we have a Prime Minister that talks a lot without following up on her promises and plays politics because she is to scared to upset those who neglect their kids.
