    4 most frequent things that I have heard KJK say are:
    1. Women don’t have penises
    2. Men should not be allowed in women’s only spaces (changing rooms, single sex toilets, prisons etc)
    3. Men should not be allowed to play in women’s sport
    4. Children should be protected from pharmaceutical and/or physical mutilation

      And you may be surprised or perhaps disturbed to know that the media council – ie a self-policing body of legacy media members – found no faults with the media’s coverage of the KJK visit despite 16 complaints being laid. I have attached some snippets and a link to an article on this.
      
      The fact the media can froth up the mob over nine days by only giving a voice to one side of a story and claim that nine days isn’t a sufficient timeframe over which to judge balance just highlights how corrupt the media council is. Time to appoint an independent body to hold media to account!

      … a complaint by Natasha Hamilton-Hart against the Herald which cited 50 articles over a period of nine days around the Parker visit, said it was “disappointing” that while 15 opinion pieces ran in the paper and its site, it was “unable or unwilling to find someone to wrestle with the issues raised by the complainant”.

        Kiwibank’s own, overall, New Zealander of the Year award was to Rangi Matamua, described on Wikipedia as “professor of matauranga Maori at Massey University’s Te Putahi-a-Toi School of Maori Knowledge.”

        I had two uncles (brothers) killed during WW2 by actual Nazis.
        This caused absolute devastation for the family, particularly their mother and sister who never really fully recovered.
        Mr Lal needs to pull his head in and get over himself.
        I don’t imagine for a minute that Lal would put himself in any danger for anyone other than his own activist associates whose lives seem to revolve totally around sexual orientation.
        That he feels entitled to compare today’s men and women as Nazis is an insult by someone worthy of no respect.

    I think she has been constructively blocked by Richard Owen, manager of immigration, at the behest of the government. In the Herald:
    
    Last month Immigration New Zealand general manager Richard Owen said Keen-Minshull holds a New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA), allowing her to travel here without applying for a visa in advance.
    
    Owen said Keen-Minshull’s entry into the country was still subject to border officers granting her a visa and permission to enter when she arrived at the airport.

Over at Bassett, Brash and Hide a list of race based special treatment initiatives by Labour and friends has been published.

A couple of favourites (sarcasm intended) are:

– Labour have decided that rather than looking for low price and minimum risk, government agencies need to ENSURE 8% of government contracts go to Maori business. Only Maori can apply for all government contracts, everyone else is restricted to 92% of them.

– $560 million tax payer funding to support Maori in getting the free Covid vaccine, including cash incentives for Maori to get vaccinated. Also, a Covid vaccine ‘Priority Access Code’ was made available if you were Maori.

The media have really gone feral over Nationals tax policy. I completely accept questioning it but at some stage they have to let voters make up their own mind, it has become an absolute obsession for the media and it’s ridiculous! I for one think it doesn’t add up but they will be able to make it all balance some other way. I wonder how the average voter feels about it. It’s a weird campaign so far, I wonder if this constant attack will change the polls at all. I am a political junkie and even I am sick to death with them going on and on about it, it’s really turning me off the election so I can’t even imagine how the average punter feels. I was expecting the turnout to be high this election but if the media keep going like this for the next 4 weeks I think it will be very low.

  SG – we have a good friend, she was a bridesmaid for us 53 plus years ago, so in her mid 70’s who is considering not voting for the first time ever.
  
  She has had a gutsful of the biased media coverage and four weeks roughly to go.
  
  It will get worse as Labour continue to slide in the Polls.

  I have taken to keeping an eye on the tv “news” again in the run up to the election.
  
  tv1 last night , yet again on the Nat taxes .
  
  You could feel the delight that they have in that they feel they have manouvered Willis into a corner over staking her ministry on this.( I think she has foolishly played into their hands)
  They want a scalp and are sharpening their tomahawks .
  They feel their relentless propaganda may be paying off . “Shifting the dial”.
  
  I fully expect Luxon will get grilled quite hard on this too at the so called leaders’ debate .
  
  And again today’s Ferald is full of attacks on this policy . Two big cartoons and tons of commentary .
  
  All well and good , but Ardern and Robertson and co have dug a hole 100 billion deep and there’s no questioning at all.
  
  The Nats are up for a mere $2 bil and the whole news cycle of all our media has revolved around that and that alone.

  I too am sick of the media’s obsession with the minutiae of the Nats tax policy. It’s gone beyond what could be considered investigative journalism. I’m also deeply cynical as to why 3 economists feel the need to do a group critique. Something smells here. One is a green party economist so no surprises there, and I understand that the property chap is a marketing person not an economist. The other economist appears to have a personal agenda. Funny how the media can’t join the dots, or doesn’t want to.

While I personally think it’s now too late for them to do a lockdown or somehow milk it, they are desperate so I wouldn’t necessarily rule out them at least trying something that stupid.

An advisory panel to the FDA in the USA has determined that cold medications containing phenylephrine do not work. They are totally ineffective.

These products have been promoted in the USA since pseudoephedrine was banned from over the counter medicines in 2006. The New Zealand Government made the same decision a few years later. The objective was to curb methamphetamine production by meth cooks buying hundreds of boxes of cold tablets to use to manufacture the drug.

It is now probable that all of these medications will be removed from sale in the USA.

So the pharmaceutical companies have generated untold billions of dollars selling medications that are literally useless. Another episode that will erase any trust that people have in pharmaceutical companies, regulators and governments.

In 2009, John Key got this totally wrong.

“Professor Gluckman [the then chief science advisor to the Prime Minister] advises that clinical evidence shows there is a safe and effective alternative to PSE [pseudoephedrine] available for cold and flu relief. It’s already being used in up to three quarters of the cold and flu medications Kiwis use. It’s called phenylephrine.

For most people, medications based on this chemical are just as effective as those containing PSE.”

So the Government deprived people of an effective medication. The Government facilitated the pharmaceutical companies to sell junk medicine. All to no effect. The methamphetamine plague is still with us. The meth cooks simply found alternative supplies of pseudoephedrine.

  It used to be German South West Africa and run by Dictator. They have recently found good hydrocarbon reserves. Prior to this the main export was Fish with the rich up welling currents.
  Luteritz is also the richest Diamond deposits in the World, Hence de Beers being based there. They would shot you if caught on the beach.
  Some of the SA expats can ellaborate more, But the Law of buying diamonds was worse if caught than murder. IDB i believe.

David Fisher at the Herald finally does something that resembles journalism. Paywalled. (Those of you who know how, do your thing).

The story is about Mick Hall, the journalist at RNZ changed aspects of stories reporting on the conflict in Ukraine to better reflect the truth.

He got harangued and vilified to the point it caused serious health issues and he resigned from his job.

His crime? Modifying news stories to reflect the truth. Yes, he was technically in breach of procedural policies, but he was actually doing what journalists are supposed to do. Report in a balanced manner, not regurgitate US state department propaganda.

A couple of quotes from the story. Hall stands by his actions and had strong support at the inquiry.

He’s not alone in this and presented the inquiry letters of support from internationally-regarded academics who have studied the Ukraine conflict.

University of Chicago professor John J Mearsheimer wrote to the inquiry, saying he did “not believe Mr Hall is purveying Russian propaganda”. “In fact, he is speaking truth to power, much to his credit. I find it profoundly depressing that in a liberal democracy like New Zealand, Mr Hall is being severely punished for simply being honest.”

Depressing indeed. What a comment from such a renowned academic, but an accurate comment describing just how bad the mainstream media in NZ has become.

More support.

Columbia University professor Jeffrey Sachs wrote: “The claim that the edits are pro-Russian propaganda is nonsense. The edits add depth of historical context and understanding, and open minds to a deeper inquiry.”

Which is what journalism is supposed to do.

John Pilger also describes the depressing state of NZ mainstream media accurately.

Renowned journalist John Pilger described Radio NZ’s criticisms of Hall’s edits as “compliant, frightened censorship”.

What the story describes in detail, is a good metaphor for what has happened to doctors, nurses, academics and others who have dared to oppose the covid narrative. Do so at your peril. You will be hunted, you will be punished, there will only be a ‘single source of truth’ in NZ.

Orwellian doesn’t describe what is happening in NZ adequately.

Read these disturbing comments discussing how Mick Hall can be ‘rehabilitated’ after he’s been ‘re-educated’.
Here’s the ‘kind and caring’ Gavin Ellis, Herald editor doing his best Jacinda Ardern impersonation. No doubt with a benign smile on his face.

The man is not dishonest. He failed in a journalistic duty. I’m sure if he was presented with the same problem again he would almost certainly behave differently.”

It’s likely there would be initial supervision and a restraint of working remotely, says Ellis, as a relationship of belief and trust was established.

Yes, once he gets his ‘mind right’ everything will be fine.

  Once you realise that the “Western” coverage and framing of the war in Ukraine, i.e. completely one-sided and inherently dishonest, is the rule and not an exception in the coverage of any war, you start to take a different view on past conflicts and the popularly accepted view of much of history in general.         There seems to be an increasing number of people who are unable to, or just don’t want to, gather information and form their own opinion.
        There are also many who are frightened to express their opinion.
        This results in a compliant, as opposed to cooperative , population and that at the end of the day is one of the aims of war.

      Mearsheimer and Sachs are both highly respected at an international level and have extensive experience in international political intrigue. Both are knowledgeable and present it well in all the videos featuring them that I have watched.
      
      Another person who seems to be well informed and balanced in his discussions is retired Indian diplomat MK Bhadrakumar who writes a substack called Indian Punchline. He’s well worth following.

  I don’t know what the issues are that he edited, but if he changed stories without being clear that he did and giving context that is a problem.
  It’s similar to graduates barely out of nappies saying “but actually the truth is” when reporting on people like Trump.
  Opinion should be reported as opinion, and “facts” should be properly given sources for verification.

  Fisher was suffering from a very severe case of NZ cultural cringe writing up a minor and inconsequential hack as some sort of international news savant on the basis that he was Northern Irish and questioned BBC bias ( but only biased in the sense that it was pro Westminster , bwahahahaha)

Opie – interesting to note, Trotter doesn’t mention the nightmareish excesses of the covid policies implemented by Labour.

That will possibly be because he was one of those advocating for stronger punishments for the terrible transgressors opposing the ‘single source of truth’. Something he has been offered the chance to walk back but to date, has refused to do.

Is it still a tenable proposition to suggest that after so many weeks of unrelenting messaging, from a vast array of sources, delivered from, and to, every conceivable platform, there are still people out there who have not heard that the Pfizer vaccine is tested, efficacious, safe, and absolutely crucial to New Zealand re-emerging into something approximating normality?

It beggars belief to argue that more than a tiny number of such individuals exist.

But, if the message has been received and understood by the yet-to-be-vaccinated, then only one conclusion can reasonably be drawn. The so-called “vaccine hesitant” aren’t really hesitant at all. Though they may lack the courage to come right out and admit to being vaccine resisters, they have, nevertheless, made that choice.

Chris is one of those who fell for the bullshit so I understand his mistake, however, he’s refused to walk this position back even though he’s been given multiple opportunities.

I got a prize for Volunteer of the Year from my local authority in 2017.
One must consider the sanity of anybody who gets such a prize in 2024. The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, through their incredibly idiotic reforms to the Incorporated Societies Act, make voluntary work the task of the mesmerised and deluded.
One small outfit has been quoted $4600 in legal fees to reform their administration to cope with the new act. That is nine times what they have spent on legal fees in the past 50 years, so one old timer told me.
I wrote, about 7 months ago, about the new accounting policies and principles for very small societies. You’ll go to sleep if I explain the stupidity of the 77 pages of gobbledy gook.
My vocabulary is so limited, my lexicon so small, that the only words I can use to describe it all is absolutely fucking hopeless.

What’s going on in this country?

Last week when I went to the Bank to withdraw 5k in cash, honestly, you would have thort I was attempting an armed hold-up.
Got asked a thousand questions by the snarky woman behind the screen what I wanted it for? Anyway….it’s the ‘rules’ now, apparently.

Yet this morning, there’s a paywallwed story in The Horrid:

“Auckland Money Launderers Walk Free From
Court After $123 MILLION In Cash Deposits”

Turns out it was a couple of Chinamen running a ‘Foreign-Exchange Office’ in Queen Street. They were facilitating drug dealers, cigarette smugglers and fraudsters to transfer their ill-gotten gains to offshore accounts.
After adopting a starting point of nearly 4 years in prison, but then reading the Cultural Report and applying discounts, Judge Bergseng sentended them to 9 months and 2 months Home-D respectively.

Shame they didn’t run into the same Teller I did.

The Nats tech sector policy includes a very useful policy on taxing options for staff in startups. Put simply defer tax liability until the share is sold ie cash flows. This will encourage this approach to inkind investment by avoiding a cash flow squeeze from tax liability on the employee when the options convert (current arrangements).

Also a better way for the Crown to share the risk. The tax falls on the successful ones.

  This will get gamed. Every company is going to spawn a bunch of start ups.
  
  I will likely personally gain from it, but I am fundamentally opposed to people in other businesses having to subsidize the tech sector.
  
  ie Why should a baker be subsidizing a software developer?
  
  Why can’t start up microbreweries and artisan bakeries and whatever get the same deal?

The rape law change being proposed by Labour doesn’t mean you will be guilty if consent isn’t given.
You will be guilty if you can’t prove that consent was given.

I guess there is an answer out there somewhere, but it isn’t going to be easy to find.

McKenzie played a lot better at No.10 than he did at No.15.
Roigard is destined to be No.1 halfback very soon, and probably captain at some stage as he reads the game so well.

    McKenzie has played at least 40 tests for NZ since 2016.
    There is no doubting his skills and abilities, it is just that at No. 10 he plays a role which fits in with the rest of the team, and he is more of a team player, whereas at No.15 he is often on his own and his subsequent choices are not always correct.
    Anyway, that is how I see it.

The US Red Cross has blamed “Climate Disasters’ for a Blood Shortage.
They say the US supply has dropped 25% since August.
Hurricane Idalia caused more than 700 units of blood and platelets to go uncollected.
The Red Cross is relied on to collect 12,500 donations every day.
Because of the busiest travel season on record it helped contribute to a shortfall of 30,000 donations.

Grant’s seat looks like it will be an interesting one to watch

When polled on which party candidate they would vote for if the election were held tomorrow, 30.6 percent of the 450 respondents who had an answer said they would vote for Labour’s Ibrahim Omer.

This is the highest of any of the candidates but is still dramatically lower than the 57.7 percent Grant Robertson received in the 2020 general election.

In second place is National’s Scott Sheeran on 28 percent, which is higher than the 17.9 percent Nicola Willis received from the electorate in 2020.

The Green Party’s Tamatha Paul is in third on 26.6 percent, again higher than James Shaw’s 17.7 percent in 2020.

  In March, Biden banned imports of oil and other fuels from Russia – except of uranium.
  
  In May, a bill banning uranium imports from Russia passed a US House of representatives committee but building American replacement mining and industry will take time.
  
  The US imports only about 14 per cent of its uranium ore from Russia, but about a third of its enriched uranium. Russian enrichment is cheaper than that done in America.

Doctors, nurses, teachers, etc have had to strike under labour for pay rises, don’t believe a thing they say. But hey let’s just keep putting wages up so businesses have to keep putting their prices up and around and around we go

Labour has committed to annual increases to the minimum wage, and the end of the lower-paid training and youth wages.

Labour leader Chris Hipkins also said he would ensure everyone working in health and education fields would be paid the living wage, during a town hall meeting in Māngere, south Auckland, with Pasifika leaders and the E Tū Union.

I see labour and the greens are promising even more costs onto businesses not to mention making it harder for young people to get a job by abolishing the youth wage. Of course the media will go just as hard on them asking if they did studies to see the implications as they have on National I’m sure. Orrrrrr maybe they won’t!

Stuff says Kyle Chapman, the NZ far right political activist who has been arrested for unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, had a Chinese version of the Russian Kalashnikov AKM rifle.

The Norinco NHM 90 that Stuff says Chapman is charged over is described by America’s NRA Museum as a “sporterised” version of the Russian AKM. Modifications so that it could exported to America included reducing the magazine to 10 rounds, and, presumably by limiting it to semi-automatic.

Ten rounds is also the maximum magazine size for rifles in NZ ,

Norinco exports to America were eventually blocked because of Norinco weapons being sold from China to Iran.

The Stuff report says Chapman met ex-soldiers and marines in the United States. Surely that can’t be illegal?

Let’s hope Labour sympathisers aren’t using the Chapman arrest to drum up support or sympathy for Draconian censorship and speech controls Labour has worked on.

    Ardern’s fixation on firearms was more intense than I thought. And what was the result? The recent legacy of the Left and the Woke in NZ has been raging crime and rampant violence.
    
    Criminals seem able to get guns, and knife-wielding fanatics can damage several people at a time.
    
    But back to the ban on semi-automatic rifles …
    
    British and Commonwealth – and armies of countries as remotely related as Finland and Japan – did great damage with bolt-action rifles. The “mad minute” test for riflemen entailed 15 rounds at a 300-yard target within 60 seconds.
    
    It must have been movies that put the focus on automatic weapons. From them the aura – and fear – spread to semi-automatics.
    
    Perhaps if the latter had been more widely known to the public as “self loading’ they would have received less attention.
    
    The legislation CMM led me to, shows that pistols are exempt from the ban on semi-automatics.

No, really, another thing labour touched f’d up. Who would have guessed

Last year, we received an email to advise us that we were losing our prompt payment discount in return for cheaper power rates. This year, we received another email to advise us that power prices were increases. We are no better off. We are paying more for power than we did last year and without our prompt payment discount. What is going on?

The power companies used to all offer customers a discount, sometimes as much as 20% if they paid their bills on time.

But in 2019, they were told they needed to offer them to everyone, because the Government said they were really “hidden” late payment charges for people who didn’t get them.

Companies took a while to phase them out, and some had them for longer than others.

But since then, power prices have risen. Consumer NZ says power prices are 35% higher in real terms than they were 20 years ago.
