Germany bans far right group

Under the cover of a pseudo-religious Germanic belief in gods, the Artgemeinschaft spread its Nazi worldview, the ministry said.

“The group’s central goal was the preservation and promotion of one’s own ‘kind’, which can be equated with the National Socialist term ‘race’,” according to the statement.

In addition to the ideology of racial doctrine, the symbolism, narratives and activities of the group showed further parallels to the Nazis’ ideology.

The group gave its members instructions on how to choose a “proper spouse” within the Northern and Central European “human kind” in order to pass on the “correct” genetic makeup according to the association’s racist ideology. People of other origins were degraded, the ministry said in its statement.

That sounds a lot like the ideology of the Maori Party.

For “pseudo-religious Germanic belief in gods” put “pseudo-religious Maori belief in Gods” which we get with pushing Earth Mother and Sky Father and rivers and mountains having person status.

For “ideology of racial doctrine, the symbolism, narratives and activities of the group”, well, put the same thing as Rawiri says Maori are genetically superior, and you can’t do anything without a waiata or powhiri these days.

For “People of other origins were degraded” see Marama Davidson as well as Rawiri, Debbie, Willie Jackson, and John Tamihere.

  How is that any different to Zionism? Israel is a Jewish state established as a homeland for ethnic Jews, and to advance the group interests of the Jewish people, a people known for in-group preference and inter-marriage within the group. Asians and Blacks have similar views. There is nothing wrong with any of these things, but why is it only a problem when Europeans advocate for their own? How do we explain the double standards, and what is the double standard trying to achieve? If anything, it’s actually a hateful proposition to suggest that Germans cannot advocate for Germans if they want to.

      What does that have to do with Zionism’s inherent attribute (i.e. ethno-nationalism as an overtly Jewish state), and thus it’s similarity to the doctrine of this banned German party? How is Germanic nationalism and in-group preference supposedly morally reprehensible, while the Jewish version is seen as a moral imperative? How do you reconcile the clear contradiction here? Either ingroup preference based on ethnicity and a nationalist sentiment is wrong, or it isn’t. I happen to think it is perfectly natural, but because I’m European that somehow makes me a bad person: make it make sense, please.

        I see what you are saying, but have a slight correction for you.
        Of the twelve tribes, my understanding, they were of different races.
        The Jewish state as it stands today, is derived from these tribes.
        NB Palestinians are citizens of Israel, if they live in Israel.

        The land that gave the world the V1 and V2 missiles is buying rocket technology from Israel.
        
        Germany has just bought a joint Israel-US Arrow 3 anti-missile shield. The cost is about 4 billion euros ($NZ7 billion), and is Israel’s biggest military export deal yet.
        
        The Arrow 3 (also called Hetz 3) is a hypersonic anti-ballistic missile, jointly developed by Israel Aerospace Industries and Boeing. The deal with Germany was, of course, approved by the United States.
        
        The Arrow 3 is said to be capable of intercepting ballistic missiles during the space-flight portion of their trajectory.

        Not sure about quietness, but the Israeli Navy’s submarines are built to their own quite unique specifications. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dakar-class_submarine for example.
        
        Israel’s subs are an important part of their nuclear triad. The general understanding is that they carry nuclear armed cruise missiles and that there is always one of them on duty in the Arabian Sea … within reach of Iran in particular.

        I should have also mentioned … Israel’s more recent subs, and the upcoming Dakar class, have an equivalent to the Swede’s Stirling engine. The technical term is Air Independent Propulsion, or AIP.
        
        But modern diesel-electric subs use lithium ion batteries, which hold much more energy than the older types of batteries. So their underwater endurance and speed is much better than it used to be and there’s less need for AIP systems that take up material amounts of space and weight.
        
        And the Stirling engine has fallen out of favour because while it’s very silent it doesn’t put out a lot of power, so the submerged speed on the Stirling is only something like 3-5 knots.

        Subs and Stirling engines – double fascination.
        
        Curiosity leads me to the Net, and I have found a summary at Wikipedia (link below).
        
        Surprisingly it says both China and Japan have and/or are building “Stirling AIP” engines.
        
        Stirling engines have fascinated folk since they were invented 207 years ago. I was surprised to learn they were used in the Swedish subs, one of which was leased to the US Navy in 2005-2006 to give the Americans practice finding and tracking quiet subs.

        Yes, by all accounts the Swedish sub was able to easily penetrate the US carrier group and “sink” the carrier. The US loves expensive complicated nuclear subs, nd has lost touch with just how quiet and elusive diesel-electric ones are.

    Actually the majority have in group preference. Take a random sample of 10 people in a relationship at your work, the majority will be in a relationship with the same Ethnic group.
    
    My overall point was, why is this German group vilified, but the Maori Party isn’t, for similar behaviours?

Because I’m trying to get an angiogram done to determine if my heart is in trouble, it got me to thinking about the health system. Specifically the split of the health budget into 70% Health NZ and 30% Maori Health Authority.

When a Maori visits the GP, or ED, or has an operation or whatever, which budget does it come out of? Surely the MHA budget ought to pay for those things.

But I’d bet a dollar to a pound of goat poo that this doesn’t happen. That the now significantly less NZ health budget pays for it. Making it more difficult for non Maori to get treatment.

What is the Maori Health Authority money get spent on? Anyone know?

  At the coal face, we have seen no evidence of any racial differentiation wrt to the care and treatment of hubby’s recent triple bypass.
  
  viz: Angina problem tentatively identified by Maori GP at our local medical centre .
  
  Hubby was referred to Pakeha specialist at Hauora Tairawhiti (once known as Gisborne Hospital), then referred immediately to Waikato Hospital for further tests.
  
  At Waikato, Hubby was in care of ward nurses and pharmacists predominately from Asian subcontinent..and seen & operated on by Doctors from Ireland and NZ.
  
  He was flown back to Gisborne in the care of a local Maori nurse and thence back to the local medical centre, where he’s been lucky enough to be seen by the same GP who first identified his problem.

    There is much muddled thinking about “racism” in the health system. Yes Maori have worse health outcomes than other ethnicities for multiple reasons, all of which have been explored at length. For example, Maori get fewer check ups at doctors. Maori women get fewer pap smears to check for early signs of cervical cancer. Are Maori women really refused such check ups because of racism?
    
    When Kiri Allan was diagnosed with Stage 3 cervical cancer, she told the media that she had not had regular checks:
    
    “”To be honest, I’m one of those gals that hates anything to do with ‘down there’. And have taken a ‘see no evil, hear no evil’ type approach to that part of my body.””

    Are there racist doctors? I guess so. However I am not convinced that Maori are systemically denied access to health care because of their ethnicity. As always, I would be happy to look at any credible evidence that I am wrong.
    
    BTW Kiri Allen herself fell into the “racism” trap when discussing her prognosis. This is so revealing.

    That makes no sense. Maori women have a poorer survival rate from cervical cancer because their cancer is more often picked up when it is more advanced. Maori women also have higher comorbidities such as obesity and smoking.
    
    However if two women – one Maori and one not Maori – are diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer, and each are the same age and in similar general health, I would bet dollars to char su buns that they have similar survival rates. Because they are both biological humans, with 99.99 percent common DNA.
    
    As for this:

    What could she expect? The same care and attention as every other woman being treated at the hospital.

    Of course not. It would be absurd.

      Our prostate cancer surgeon said that Maori have worse outcomes, not due to late diagnosis but the cancer is more aggressive. Not sure if this is due to poorer general health though. The surgeon is South African.

        That may be just his opinion.
        Medicine is a huge international field of knowledge and not every doctor knows all about everything.
        GPs have a wide ranging knowledge of everyday conditions – enough to recognise something needing advanced treatment, and to refer to a surgeon or specialist in the relevant condition.

        Peer reviewed research or his observation? I find it hard to believe that all Maori with prostate cancer have a more aggressive form than anyone else. Unless the cancer god is Moriori which is equally hard to believe. My experience – I worked in the field for many years and now I am a patient – is that cancer does not discriminate with rare eg stomach cancer for one Maori family, exceptions.

        There are also different prostate cancer outcomes – and incidence – among Black and non-Black Americans.
        
        One question that’s been raised is whether this could related to Vitamin D creation from sunlight on skin.
        
        Darker skins give more protection against ultra-violet light, and thus also reduce resultant Vitamin D creation.
        
        The second part of the theory assumes that Vitamin D has some sort of role in prevention of prostate cancer.

        According to the Prostate Cancer Foundation the three most significant risk factors are Age, Family history (including genetics), Race.
        
        According to the New Zealand Prostate Cancer Society
        
        Māori men have a slightly lower incidence of prostate cancer but have a higher death rate than other New Zealand men. The reasons for this may be a later diagnosis or treatment choices offered to them.
        
        There’s more. My reading is that, given the relationship between genetics and ethnicity it is inevitable that ethnic origin will have some bearing on prostate cancer rates and outcomes.

        I believe it was based on some research or data. Given he does pretty much just prostate cancer removals i guess he sees quite a few. He mentioned they have a lower incidence and that Asians are on the other side (higher incidence, lower mortality) which wouldn’t be explained by vitamin D but could be overall health.

      I wonder what research she was expecting? Women with some Maori descent are only a tiny proportion of women on the planet, so it’s unlikely there is any specific research into them and cervical cancer, unless there was suspicion of some inherited problem from their genetics.
      
      Which couldn’t be, because the Maori Party (IIRC) said the Maori have superior genetics.

        Oh of course administration is important. But administration needs to be supporting the clinical activities.
        
        What clinical activities is the MHA undertaking?
        
        And again, how does the funding for a Maori visiting their gp get taken from the MHA instead of the funding everyone else. Almost certainly it doesn’t, or can’t because of systems limitations. Which affects the ability of Health NZ to deliver services to the rest of us

    We are constantly beaten around the head that Maori are a different culture. With a different culture you would expect different beliefs, attitudes, values and behaviours.
    So you would expect different ways of relating to the health system. So for example – later diagnosis.
    But in our game of let’s pretend it’s just the system that is blamed. Quite vicious blame it is too.

    Thank you. It does feel like head against a brick wall.
    
    Listen to your body, they say. Well I seem to be the only one listening.
    
    I’d more or less given up and then the Barry Soper heart bypass happened. I read the articles about his journey, which seemed relatively brief:
    * breathlessness walking uphill
    * feeling lightheaded
    * blood tests normal
    * treadmill ecg terminated early
    * angiogram
    * immediate* surgery (*more or less)
    
    I went back to my GP and said I tick off every one of those same things except the last two, because CCDHB basically seem to look for reasons to not proceed, rather than look for reasons for the symptoms.
    
    I’ve asked him to put the specialists under pressure, to ask them directly why Barry gets a certain level of treatment (in Auckland) whereas I get a different one (in Wellington). I’ve told him I’m happy to fly to Auckland for the angiogram.
    
    If this fails then the next step is to pay for one myself.
    
    Thinking it was sleep related I’ve tried CPAP (self funded), diet changes (twice), and bought a new mattress.
    The only thing I’ve not gone back to is exercise, which I gave up because I just couldn’t do it anymore. I went to cross-fit style gym for 10 years, age 50-60. During that time I’ve had a collapsed lung, got back up and trekked Everest Base Camp. Trained for another 6 years or so before running out of puff and being in pain after every session.
    
    Something is wrong. I just need to find out what.

Rather than trying to match Labour’s spending promises, National should simply say that they would love to, but that the bank is empty as Labour has already squandered all the money.

Repeat it over and over, so it may sink into the swing voter just how profligate Labour have been.

    The Nats have already said that they will keep the 39% tax rate in the short term, given the state of the books.
    
    They will change the brackets.

    Not a bribe – not moving the tax brackets is an effective tax increase. It’s our money so not stealing more of it isn’t a bribe.
    Also, the fastest way out of our predicament is more money in the pockets of productive people. Government spending is almost never the most effective or efficient answer to any question (other than “how best to destroy an economy?”).

  Couple of problems with that approach.
  
  Firstly, the media. They would run a minor article on this change on day 1. At the end of day 1 it would change to National admitting their sums didn’t add up. Day 2 would see non-stop reporting of how Labour are awesome, Robertson saying the books are awesome, tame economists saying everything is fine, numbers never better, record spending, blah-de-blah, and not one critical comment about the debt etc. Day 3 would then turn this into a rabid attack on National saying this shows they really just want to cut services. Day 4 might even see accusations that National want to kill your granny!
  
  Second problem is your average voter. Most voters don’t read the detail – if someone says free shit, they say yes please. The usually don’t even think about how it’s being paid.
  
  National will know they will need to change their plan – the finances are even worse than expected and most of their plans, well we just don’t have the money. Pivoting to this prior to the poll won’t work. They will probably be thinking, get over the line, form a government, then start breaking the bad news, and then blame it all on Labour. Opens up all sorts of possibilities once you are in power – you can roll out some cuts due to the nature of the books. Doing this before hand won’t win power.

For the Last 3 years since Chris Luxon has been Leader of National the media Labour Prime Minister’s and many around New Zealand have gone after him saying he was dishonest, out of his depth and in it for himself without trying to get to know the man until they got sick of successive Labour Leaders who were and are in it for themselves not ordinary New Zealander’s.
Now we have a Prime Minister Chris Hipkins who wants to play the race card and blame everyone else except himself
because he is in a position of weakness and needs a miracle to be able to survive
as the Government.
What a bunch of hypocrites this Government are, you started the arguments on race and now it is out of control everyone else is to blame yet it was your stupidity that has created the problem.

  I’m sure when they paddled thousands of kilometres from their home country to New Zealand , they kept the tonnes of sewage in containers in their canoes, and once in their new homeland, disposed of it ,on land in a sensitive way.
  To do otherwise would be hypocritical,wouldn’t it. Of course it’s easy to deny hypocrisy when you don’t have a written history to “ refude” your oration.

Remember years ago Wellington had to abandon the recommended long pipeline into Cook Strait, which would have resulted in tide and sun nullifying the pollution within minutes, for a land-based system which cost a fortune and resulted in more (but different) pollution.   RNZ interviewer then said if Auckland had 3 Waters you would not need any government assistance.
  What she ignored was that 3 waters under Maori control would ensure pakeha Auckland was at the bottom of the priority list (same principle as the health system).

In the event he’ll walk into caucus, say “any chance we could do light rail in my electorate?” Everyone will say “nope” and everyone moves on. I feel from reading these types of comments that unless a candidate says 100% of what someone wants to hear then they go “I’m not voting for you”. Who is the alternative?   I think there are parts that are worth keeping that national did last time. For example working with Maori health providers. Our local one was part funded by the dhb, that’s how it should return to, not a separate Maori health board. Partnerships with Maori education providers. We are going to vote as early as possible – if we get our voting cards sometime ? and know where to, so that this is in the belief that as soon as we can we will have done our part in getting the Ardern Government done and destroyed, as they have done to New Zealand.
In over 60 years of voting we have never early voted before.
So doing so will be physiologically good for us.

  Just vote in the electorate that your registered in because the roll will have your details on it.
  They will find you via address listed.
  
  If you vote outside your electorate, the ones adjoining usually have neighbouring electorate rolls, or else you’ll end up casting a special vote which is counted later on.

Guy Hatchard’s latest post is on point.

Our hospitals are overwhelmed, as they are in highly vaccinated countries around the world. UK figures show more than 400,000 people waited more than 24 hours in ED before being seen last year. Our wannabe political leaders are telling us they will fix our similar wait times by throwing more cash at the problem. But there just might not be enough cash, unless and until we have an open discussion about the causes.

Dr. Harvey Risch a world-renowned cancer and chronic disease expert and Professor Emeritus at Yale School of Public Health reports his research:

“Young vaccinated people are being diagnosed with cancers in numbers previously considered impossible, because the Covid-19 vaccine has ‘compromised’ immune systems by disabling the body’s ability to ‘gobble up’ non-normal cancerous cells….Clinicians have been seeing very strange things: For example, 25-year-olds with colon cancer, who don’t have family histories of the disease—that’s basically impossible according to the known paradigm for how colon cancer works—and other long-latency cancers that they’re seeing in very young people.”

Curiously, we aren’t reading reports like this in our newspapers or hearing about them from politicians standing for election. Instead, we are still being prompted by government-paid social media advertising to rush out and get more shots.

Concerning data re the rise in cancers and of course, ‘died suddenly’ syndrome.

Of more concern to me is the refusal of our politicians to even talk about this, let alone make some effort at finding out why it is happening.

Seymour tried saying there is no excess all cause mortality but the problem is, he was quickly shown to be telling porkies. Presumably that’s why the subject is now off the table for almost all politicians.

        The use of over sensitive PCR tests was ridiculous.
        
        About 5 weeks after testing clear with a RAT (having had CV19), I went to hospital for a cardioversion and they gave me a PCR. It had not come back by the time I went to theatre so they quickly gave me a RAT which came back negative.
        By the time I got back to the ward from the theatre, my PCR result came back: positive.
        So now I had become one of those statistics of “people sick in hospital with CV19”, even though I had not been sick in hospital with CV19.
        At the same time there were 12 others on the ward who were CV19 positive (really so). One of them had CV19 when admitted, 11 picked it up inside hospital. None of them were there because of CV19.
        
        So that day’s total for that ward: 13 people in the ward with CV19. Only 12 really had it. None of them there because of CV19.
        
        Death reporting has been manipulated. The definition of vaccine has been manipulated. Heck, even the word “science” has been manipulated.

        No-one knows what will happen.
        
        But those of us who begged and pleaded with the Sole Sorceress of MisTruth and the Ministry of MisHealth and the unHippocratic Medical Council to allow freedom of choice and to ensure proper vaccine testing in the historically sound 3 phases over *years*, were shouted down / ignored.
        
        *Interesting fact: until the Covid vaccine-treatment, the fastest-ever vaccine-to-market cycles was 3 years, for mumps vaccine in 1967.       I was extremely critical of Medsafe when the jabs were approved. Particularly when I found on their own website, clear evidence that they knew this thing was experimental.
      
      In their own Risk Management Plan they state plainly that they have identified risks like myocarditis among others, and that they had no information re the effects on most vulnerable groups nor did they have any long term data.

      But it is even worse, as revealed by Philip Crump/Thomas Cranmer.
      
      The Pfizer vaccine was granted provisional consent for use by New Zealand’s regulator, Medsafe on 3 February 2021. The development was immediately welcomed by then Prime Minister Ardern who ~~stated~~ lied, “Medsafe’s decision is the culmination of a rigorous assessment process over many months to ensure the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine is safe and effective to use here. It is informed by the most up-to-date medical and scientific data. We can have confidence in their decision.”
      
      However, in reality, the government’s representation of Medsafe’s assessment was overstated. Specifically, Medsafe’s clinical assessment found:
      
      “The duration of the vaccine protection has not been established beyond two months.”
      
      “At this stage, there is limited evidence of protection against severe disease.”
      
      “There is no long term safety follow-up information.”
      
      “Vaccine prevention of asymptomatic infection and disease transmission has not been established.”
      
      Therefore when it made its benefit risk assessment, Medsafe concluded:
      
      The benefit risk balance of Comirnaty (COVID-19 mRNA Vaccine) for active immunisation to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by SARS-CoV-2 in individuals 16 years of age and older, is not clear. At this stage, there is evidence only for short-term protection, and longer-term safety data are lacking. However, experience with the vaccine is accumulating rapidly.

      It would be interesting to find out the names of all who had access to the information provided by Medsafe but lied and pushed it as ‘safe and effective.’
      
      This is the only reason I can think of why Seymour and Luxon want this topic shut down. If they didn’t have access to this information, they could use it as a tool to hammer Labour.
      
      As an added bonus, it would remove Peters from the equation if they were seen to be addressing this shocking malfeasance.
      
      That they refuse to do so makes me believe they are aware of the information and therefore equally complicit.

        Thomas Cranmer/Philip Crump published it in one of his first posts. This is the gist of the cover up.
        
        My intention is not to second-guess the science or the decisions made by experts but to examine what recommendations were made by the relevant technical committees and then compare those with how the government decided to act and how those actions were presented to the public by the Prime Minister, the former Director-General of Health, Dr Bloomfield and others.
        
        We all know how it was presented, we were bombarded with bullshit to convince is just how “safe and effective” this experiment was and how it was “tested and approved”.
        It was all lies.
        
        I will refer to the minutes of relevant Cabinet and committee meetings which are publicly available. Those documents demonstrate that key recommendations made by the government’s technical experts were not implemented in relation to:
        
        increasing the dose interval between the first and second dose from three weeks to at least eight weeks for the under 30s in order to reduce the risk of myocarditis; and
        
        permitting the under 18s to have only one dose for the purpose of workplace mandates.
        
        In addition, there is clear evidence in the official documents that it was agreed that references to increasing dosing intervals as a method of potentially providing some protection against myocarditis should be removed from public communications.
        
        It’s all documented. No wonder nobody wants to discuss it.

  The incident that really struck me about covid vaccination was when Christian Erickson collapsed and almost died playing football for Denmark. Here was a fit young midfielder for no particular reason collapsing and almost dying. The authorities and the media said that it had nothing to do with the covid vaccination. But here’s my question – would they tell us if it was?
  Since then we have many incidents of fit young people, particularly young men, collapsing and almost dying on sports fields. What is going on?
  
  I would like an enquiry into the covid vaccinations. The fact of the matter is that covid was never a threat to young people and working age adults. Covid was only a threat to older people and those with other health conditions. And yet we shut the whole country down and demanded that everyone get vaccinated and were told that the vaccine is completely safe. And yet we have information like Mr Hatchard credibly giving medical evidence about adverse reactions to the vaccine.
  
  How many adverse reactions were there? I’d really like the truth. The New Zealand public deserve the truth about the adverse reactions to the jab.

    We can never know precisely, because Arden and Bloomfield instructed that no post mortems be done – and most particularly, no histology (microscope-level tissue examination) be done on heart muscle of the dead.
    
    When a living vaccine-injured person gets a cardiac biopsy that proves they suffer from severe myocarditis, the NZ MOH states without further argument that it “was from asymptomatic Covid infections and not the vaccine” and closes their correspondence on the case.
    
    Let’s also not forget Grant Robertson lying as usual – 14 Oct, 2021 03:10 PM – ‘Robertson reiterated that “Pfizer, the current vaccine on offer, is safe and all New Zealanders should get on board with it. All around the world millions of people have received it and it is safe.”‘

      NACT saw the political damage re lockdowns and walked it back a bit. Eventually. They saw the political damage of border closures and walked it back a bit. Eventually. So did Labour. Eventually.
      
      They all played politics with the health and livelihoods of the people of NZ.
      
      Don’t try and change history by implying none of this would have happened under NACT.
      
      To make matters worse, we haven’t heard a word from them to unequivocally state they wouldn’t repeat the exercise, if they have point me to it.
      
      Right now we have Saint Ashley Bloomfield at the WHO already talking up the ‘next pandemic’.
      
      I’ve been more than willing to give NACT my vote if they would only acknowledge the harms that were done and promise not to let it happen again.
      They refuse to even speak about it.
      
      You believe they will lose more votes than they gain for telling the truth and doing the moral and right thing? Well then it will be what it will be. But it’s a bloody tragedy.
      
      Don’t blame voters. Don’t call them stupid, it’s the last thing that will get them to change their mind.

  Media party are being very clever I think. While they would obviously much rather a Labour / Green / Maori government, pushing NZ First has three possible beneficial outcomes for the left.
  
  Firstly, throw enough dirt and maybe, they could turn it around and see Labour / Greens / Maori squeak over the line. Unlikely but not impossible.
  
  Secondly, there is no guarantee that NZ First will go with National – anyone with half a brain knows Winston can’t be trusted and if the bribe from Labour is big enough, he would be quite happy to go with them. I’d say this is 50/50 – nothing is certain and anyone thinking NZ First would automatically go with National is dreaming.
  
  Thirdly, if there is to be a change of government, the media and left are terrified of ACT having any real influence – this scares them so much that the likes of Trotter is voting NZ First. Much better, they reason, that if there is to be a change, let it be a change where NZ First neutralizes and ACT influence and makes sure there are no fundamental reforms undertaken that would be hard to reverse when the left takes over.
  
  As a strategy it’s pretty bloody obvious. Brilliant though and I think enough people might fall for it that all the above could be in play.

    However I still need to keep current with certain business matters and while I’m at it , I always scan the other sections , to see what the Bolshies are up to.
    
    I don’t directly subscribe but as I’ve suggested here many times before ,i do my “research” through pressreader ( I pay for that through my exorbitant rates)
    
    I suppose it’s the same with tv “news” watching , something I have generally foresworn but in this political season will check their headlines , in order to confirm my biases , towards the bastards.

So Wellington City Council investment in parking sensors (with numbered spaces) and associated radio infrastructure has turned out to be a flop. It has not been installed for that many years so to claim it is near ‘end of life’ is ridiculous. The sensors were obviously not fit for purpose.

So The Council dresses up what should be an admission of defeat as a ‘progressive’ move saying it is following in the footsteps of other councils who have ‘pay by plate’ systems.

Also too seems the Council will retain a card surcharge despite the intention that only half the machines will accept cash.

Democrats are not listening to the people. This is why they will lose. I am neither for or against – is is personal choice. What I hate is selfish females using abortion as a contraceptive.
America needs more Americans – but some of those Americans will want the American Dream and vote Republican. Best leave the border open and bring in millions of dropkicks who will vote Democrat, because democrats are kind. Kind? Where have I heard that before? It is also difficult to have a family with say 3 kids, because it is not affordable in some cases
Just remember America, if the USA should ever go socialist, you have no place to run to. Canada? Go for it!

Just as a matter of interest my comments do not appear automatically and yesterday I saw a Mod comment to the effect that you’ll be approved if you post under your own name.

Well I’ve been posting under my own name here at Kiwiblog since 2007, and that name matches the email address. Moreover in that time I’ve corresponded with DPF a few times and written a couple of posts.

Really don’t know what else I have to do to get set up as an automatic commentator? Drivers licence? Passport? 🙂

Good News:
Studies are finding that there is a high incidence of heart problems amongst people who get covid.
This is apparently as high as 28% for those who are hopitalized with severe infection.
The good news is that the studies have also found that vaccination reduces the possibility.
Great news at a time when covid vaccination rates have taken a great hit.

  So why did deaths in NZ spike up by 12% during our 2021 vaccination program (6% for year) compared to 2020 when there was no covid? Attribution for that seems pretty clear, but dangerous to a lot of powerful people. Covid free NZ was the clearest evidence in the world for the massive vaccine death toll. It probably still made sense for people with dicey health, but should never have been mandated for young and healthy people.

  Steve, this is a civil case, so it’s in front of the judge and there’s no jury.
  
  The judge has made summary judgment on 1 of the 5 charges. That was on the most important charge, which is the charge alleging Trump et al had committed fraud. Summary judgement is where the judge, after reading all the written evidence provided by the prosecution and the defence, basically says “This case is proven to such an extent, and the defence is so weak, that there is no point in using up court time having a trial, I’m just going to proceed directly to a decision.”
  
  The other 4 charges are still going to be covered in the trial, which starts on Monday. As far as I understand those charges revolve around things like how large a fine will Trump have to pay.
  
  Trump can, of course, appeal these decisions. I suspect he will.

      I’d ignore Trump suing people. It’s just a tactic he uses to hustle, and to appear like he’s in charge. If you look at his track record he either (a) withdraws them or (b) loses them.
      
      Look, the judge read through all the evidence and decided it was an open-and-shut case. If Trump thinks the judge is wrong then he can appeal. He will appeal, but basically as a delaying tactic.
      
      Here’s the thing. Although Trump is litigious that’s historically been him suing other people in civil cases, and those other people have been smaller, with less money and legal resource, than Trump. So basically his history is using the courts to bully contractors, business partners etc. Historically Trump has been able to get those people to settle, in his favour.
      
      But now he’s dealing with state and federal agencies who have enough money to take a case the whole way through, and they have better quality lawyers than Trump does. So now he’s the little guy. And his position is so weak that he’s going to lose these cases.
      
      Added to which a lot of these charges are now serious criminal cases, not civil ones. So he can’t duck these cases, and if/when he loses it’ll be prison time. Basically he’s now in big-time court and he doesn’t control the case.
      
      Honestly, he’s fucked.

Why would anyone trust the United Nations’ regime?

The UN wants us to believe whatever it tells us without reason. This is essential for the UN because it is ambitious, malevolent and utterly “untrustworthy.”

It can only achieve its nefarious goals while we accept its claimed authority.
In 2013, a UN Task Team was designated to specify the Post-2015 UN Development Agenda. It wrote:

[. . .] global partnership can promote a more effective, coherent, representative and accountable global governance regime, which should ultimately translate into better national and regional governance [. . .]. A global governance regime, under the auspices of the UN, will have to ensure that the global commons will be preserved for future generations.

You get the point, I’m sure. The UN considers itself the lead organisation in a “global governance regime”.

Of course, this is a ‘conspiracy theory’ even though it’s published on their own website.

The unelected parasites in the UN are in the process of implementing a global coup. They are doing this in conjunction with the WHO and WEF. None of these people are elected. They are all in the main, funded by extremely wealthy, unelected people.

    I have always believed the UN (United Nations) had a role in keeping major inter-nation disputes under some form of “control” either by shipping UN troops into war zones as peacekeepers or mediating between nations. The last few years and particularly the Ukraine-Russia spat has shown the UN to be toothless and expensive. If he really believes that he is saying that women have an abortion are murderers.

He should say on reflection I should have said abortion is wrong or even sinful.

Many Christians do not believe abortion is murder. Just look at countries in Europe that allow abortion.

  Over decades I’ve been tasked to respond to second- and third-trimester premature deliveries. The little ones thus brought into the world look like humans. We do our best for them as humans. Often we can’t help them, and their mothers grieve just as much as if their loved little ones had died after a term birth.
  
  I’m not accusing anyone of murder. I do think abortion is killing babies, and babies are people like us, just younger.

  More important, in my view, Paul M., are the economic effects of the shutdown.
  
  This caused Labour and their mate at the Reserve Bank to jump into “Social Credit Paradise” scale money printing through the issue of tens of billions of dollars worth of bonds.
  
  That blow-out of the money supply sparked the inflation that is now hurting everybody. The pain will continue for years.
  
  How did Sweden, which kept its economy open, fare in comparison with NZ in Covid health statistics? How did Taiwan fare during Covid? It did take intense counter-measures in health, but kept schools and businesses open throughout.
  
  Also, internationally, it would be nice to hear about the Covid collusion of China with its mate, the head of the World Health Organisation. It was Taiwan, through intelligence links, which brought out the news of the outbreak.

  I’m an undecided voter. I’ll only be voting for a Party that at a minimum, acknowledges the harms done to innocent NZers and states clearly they won’t repeat the exercise.
  
  The rest of the stuff like the economy, health and education etc is of course important. But it is totally irrelevant if we repeat the madness that was inflicted on us during covid.

Interesting to compare the TV news coverage of the rally at Parliament by Freedoms NZ.

Newshub had some comments from Tamaki. . . However Dallow’s crew didn’t play ANY audio of Brian Tamaki. No excerpts from his speech, nor any of his off-the-cuff remarks to reporters. Censorship by TV One?

And nothing allowed from Sue Gray either, who spoke really confidently by the way — not talking down to people. Just a natural orator, very comfortable talking to a crowd of people.
I don’t know what’s in Tamaki’s heart, I don’t follow his church, but his list of bad things was similar to mine:

• the UN
• Schwob and his World Economic Forum
• the climate change alarmism scam (he asked why are we importing dirty low grade coal (Indonesian?) while banning the use of our own high-grade stuff? )
• Blackrock
• promoting trans ideology to school kids.

I’m looking to express dissent with my vote. And there’s a LOT to dissent from, right now. Freedoms NZ look ‘odds on’ for my vote.

P.S. A funny thing about the malcontents who turned up on the sidelines, the so-called ‘counter protest’. Half of them were wearing face masks!… That’s right — still quaking in their organic sandals about the ‘vid!

  The owners of Huntly power station are free to use whatever coal they want. The only plausible explanation is that suitable New Zealand coal is more costly than Indonesian coal.
  
  There is no “ban” on using New Zealand coal.

      Then, add on the carbon emissions of transporting the coal here on ships. More emissions equals bad, right? (According to greenies).
      
      And if we’re not outright banning the mining of coal, we discourage it OR put onerous regulations on extracting it, don’t we? Which raises the costs — maybe that’s why importing is cheaper. Does Indonesia put any ‘green regulations’ on their mining operations?
      
      Something doesn’t add up. Tamaki wants us to use our own resources. We have coal. We have gas. We have oil. There is NO climate emergency.
      We can be more prosperous AND stop paying foreign exchange reserves to Indonesia AND burn cleaner more efficient coal AND make it cheaper by removing onerous regulations…. Net win for NZ.

        Well not really. Take carbon and burn it and it will output the same amount of CO2 as any other carbon. This is the same whether we’re talking about methane, coal, petrol etc. This is controlled by the formula C + O2 -> CO2.
        
        Indeed, if a carbon-based combustion is generating less CO2 then it can only do so through incomplete combustion (eg carbon monoxide: 2C + O2 -> 2CO). That can produce REAL pollutants as opposed to CO2 which is just plant food.
        
        Where it can differ is that the impurities require heating without generating any output (so are less efficient). They can also produce non-CO2 outputs (eg. sulphur compounds).
        
        High quality coal is really the stuff that is good for making steel etc. It is almost pure carbon with very little other crap in it. Burning this for fuel is a bit of a waste.
        
        Lyttleton loads a lot of coal onto ships going to various places. The last load I looked up was steel-making coal going to Japan.

        The coal burnt in Huntly is not lignite. It is regular thermal coal. (Even if it was lignite, it would still be accounted for in the ETS.)
        
        Most of New Zealand coal that is exported is high grade coking coal.

        I’d be pretty sure that Huntly has effective flu gas scrubbers to remove the majority of sulphur compounds from the exhaust. Thermal power stations are best run on cheap coal. Save the low impurity anthracite for metallurgical use.

    The coal seams extend under the Huntly station, and also include coal-seam gas, a potential fuel.
    
    Genesis the generator owner, began phasing out coal five years ago, and closing local mining is probably more related to Green strategy.
    
    Indonesia rivals Australia as the world’s biggest coal exporter, and cost would obviously count in buying coal from that country.
    
    At a million tonnes or more a year, the effects on generating Huntly power will from now also be affected by the downward value of the NZ dollar; by rising costs of shipping and transport from NZ port; and by the international coal price.
    
    The price of Indonesian coal (loaded on ship) seems to be about $US117 a tonne (nearly $NZ200).
    
    If that’s accurate it would be costing NZ around $200 million a year for imported coal, when the country has plenty of its own resources. (Excluding the vast lignite resources, there are more than three billions of tonnes of unmined coal).

      While Benedict Yu is correct in his statement that there is no ban on Huntly using NZ coal, we can’t assume that Genesis, the owner of Huntly generator was infallibly correct in its decision to buy Indonesian fuel.
      
      The chair of Genesis at the time (as in the link to my 12.17 post) was Jenny Shipley, a former Prime Minister.

    The dispute over using Huntly coal was who was to pay for the stripping of the over burden so that the coal was available when wanted.
    
    Solid Energy wasn’t prepared to subsidise Genesis, and Genesis didn’t want to pay Solid Energy to have the coal ready, so they imported it.
    
    Some of you might remember the late 1980s scandal of how much waikato coal had been wasted by weathering after being stripped and waiting at the outcrop to mined and then burnt. Good old state coal days……

Podcast recommendation- latest episode of Triggernometry. Benjamin dichter who was one of the leaders of the Canadian truckers convoy. Really interesting thoughts on Trudeau being a puppet for the bureaucracy and of the “una-party” of the two “sides” (bit like what we have here).

He has quite a bit of knowledge of politics…. Also talks about how they used bitcoin when the go fund me/frozen bank account issues occurred. He’s quite an advocate for cryptocurrency.

This business of the large sinkhole in urban Auckland spilling out human waste into the harbour.
Imagine if this had happened in a farming area or provincial setting and sewage was emptied into “our rivers and sacred waterways.”
We would never hear the end of it.
Farmers would be blamed and demonised for months. Lengthy investigations would be set up and fines demanded.
But Auckland people seem to be taking this with no such bother. The guy on newstalkzb this lunchtime saying it was a shame that people wouldn’t be able to go fishing and swimming during the school holidays and let’s hope it’s all fixed up by the weekend.

If they have a shortage then they will need to supply their customers on a pro-rata basis based upon the Warehouse previous purchase volumes likewise Woolworths and Foodstuffs. I was only a kid watching Bill Rowling trying desperately to score a hit against Muldoon on the parents Philips K9 TV.
Watching Chip Hiskins in his high pitched voice yappity yapping at Luxon the other day on the leaders debate brought back distant memories.
Back to 2023, it’s a shame old Luxo doesn’t have a bit more of Muldoon’s mongrel in him.

  Muldoon had the luxury of FPP – he didn’t need to build coalitions, or worry about coalitions acting against him.
  
  It is interesting to note that in 1975, when National won ‘by a landslide’ under Muldoon, the results were:
  National 48%
  Labour 40%
  Social Credit 7%
  Values 5%
  
  So under MMP, a coalition of Labour/SC/Values could have governed.
  
  And in 1978,
  National 39.8%
  Labour 40.4%
  Social Credit 16.1%
  Values 2.4%
  
  So Labour had the most votes. Social Credit again the Kingmaker under MMP. Muldoon won through more electorate seats (51 to 40, amazing given the popular vote), and FPP. Social Credit, with 16% of the vote, got one seat !
  
  Again in 1981,
  National 38.8% (47 seats)
  Labour 39.0% (43 seats)
  Social Credit 20.7% (2 seats !)
  
  So, different times, different tactics.

Doctors get minimal coverage and support from the news media as they continue their pay dispute.

This is unlike enthusiastic media backing for claims by nurses or teachers, both professional hotbeds of Labour support.

Rumours are that Labour’s health plans include filling the doctor shortage with “nurse practitioners”.

I’ve heard of one serious misdiagnosis by a nurse practitioner practice. Maybe others are better, but Labour’s reported nurse-practitioner plan seems akin to Mao’s “barefoot doctor” answer to Communist China’s early medical problems.

GPs are under enormous pressure.

Politicians of the Right should be expressing support for the country’s beleaguered doctors – GPs, hospital doctors, and specialists.

Here is one exception to the news media’s near-blackout on the national health crisis, especially as it affects health professionals.

Radio NZ reported the view of Tauranga cardiologist Dean Boddington, and it’s worth repeating here:

Boddington believed highly paid Te Whatu Ora executives were exploiting the professionalism of healthcare workers’ desire to care and heal.

“This goodwill by all of these employees has been taken advantage of for far too long. The senior executive team members can earn between $438,400 per year and $770,000 per year.

Labour, no longer the party of the working class, represents the Wellington Leftist elite, such as health bureaucrats (as well as representing and now championing racial separation).

  Jack, I have worked in a number of countries which have nurse practitioners, physicians assistants etc filling in the staffing gaps. Done well and not done just to save money, and in a system with robust medicolegal redress if the nurses overstep their diagnosis and treatment skill-boundaries, it can work quite well.
  
  But… if it becomes widespread in New Zealand – and I hope I’m wrong predicting this possibility – then coupled with there being zero ability to sue practitioners and administrators because of our ACC legislation, I think there’s a really good chance we will get a cheap and nasty service which will crank up both morbidity and mortality and against which we will have no redress.
  
  Those who follow the media about the things that have gone badly wrong in New Zealand practices and hospitals in recent years, and who have also some international living experience, will be able to attest that the things which my ex-profession and medical administrators and so forth routinely get away with the New Zealand, would equally routinely be the subject of multi-million dollar settlements.
  
  NZ’s no-fault compensation plus the PIJF means that NZ’s hospital managers and staff just have to look contrite, provide a vague apology, wait for the story to retreat from the headlines (or never hit headlines if it’s the result of Angry Andy’s Apartheid Agenda), then it’s back to the usual and bury the mistakes.

    Well my wife is an NP in the hospital ED. She is one of two. The consultants think highly of them as not only are they well qualified, masters in nursing science, but they have experience lacking in so many junior doctors. In my wife’s case 34 years as an ED nurse. I know who I would rather be seen by. An experienced NP or a junior doc straight out of uni with no real hospital experience. But then again I am biased.

  A majority of what GPs do can now (or will very soon) be replaced by Medical AI’s with perfect recall of basically all medical literature/knowledge in concert with a nurse able to do hands on aspects of diagnosis and treatment, and able to transfer cases to more highly skilled people where necessary. You can bet there is huge development going on in this area.
  
  And over next 5-10 years the AIs will get far far better, with addition of diagnostic sensors, cameras ultrasound xray etc. Medicine is going to get a lot better and cheaper.

    AI, basically algorithms, has been around for a long time, but the hype level is recent.
    
    On progress, some of the claims are valid, especially those arising from advances in computer processing with gear from the likes of Nvidia.
    
    But AI is also a vogue topic. We need to be sceptical about more extravagant claims, some motivated by entrepreneurs planning to float big ventures on US stock exchanges. Medical AI start-ups will likely be among those hyped up.

  My sister is a nurse practicioner. Pain management. We’re not talking just Panadol.
  
  Virtually every doctor and nurse in Auckland Hospital defers to her judgement on medication and dosage.
  
  Mainly because she’s there and available when the consultant or surgeon often isn’t.

    The responses to my comment suggesting Labour would replace most GPs with nurse practitioners, has drawn many replies.
    
    However, they are about nurse practitioners working in hospitals with other health professionals. I have no doubt they are doing a fine job.
    
    Does anyone here have experience or knowledge of medical practices, the equivalent of GP practices, comprising all nurse practitioners?

      No but I don’t think that’s the point. A practice will never be 100% nurse practicioner.
      
      But you don’t need to be a GP to prescribe flucloxacillin, or recommend a tetanus shot, or clean a wound or in my case recently lance a fingernail due to a crush injury.
      
      Nurse practicioners are an underutilised skill

Here’s the Newshub report over the accusations of racism from various Left activists and politicians.

It’s prefaced with comments from NZF’s Rangitata candidate, Robert Ballantyne, which in my opinion are perfectly acceptable because he’s not referring to Maori per se (as the reporter says) but to the activists of all stripes whose agenda it is to impose a non-democratic system on this country.

Shame Luxon agreed at the debate when asked by Hipkins if Ballantyne’s comments were racist. They are most certainly not but that’s Luxon for you. Let’s all just agree that menopause sick leave is something worth considering.

Earlier Grant Robertson was showing anger about Nationals bookkeeping even though a lot say they could see past his creative bookkeeping.

Can anyone tell me where Maiki Sherman’s claim that maori on average income would get $4.15 a week from National’s tax plan ?
According to MBIE, the mean weekly income for Maori is $1,020.
