  Andersen has 2 choices, either:
  1. Privately apologise in full to Mitchell, then very publically repeat the apology (which will include the line, “I will not repeat the lies of Labour trolls”), and then slither away to hide in a dark corner; or
  2. Resign her seat in parliament.
  
  This is because this morning, Hosking (& NZME) are playing the Alistair Campbell podcast of the British diplomat who owes his life to the work of Mitchell in Iraq.
  
  So, Ginny & the Labour trolls, you are in a s**t hole all of your own making, apologise and take the public humiliation, else you’ll live a ground hog day that you’ll not be allowed to forget!

  I’d say her emotions got the better of her. She basically got shamed by Mark (and Mike). Mike questioned her over Labour’s lack of real world work experience and not owning their own businesses. She said her overseas experience was 3 years working in bars waitressing, wow. She knew they were right and became extremely defensive over it and had to attack Mark. A shameful display by a politician. After Jacinda I’d say this is another notch in the belt for Mike.

    Cynically, I suspect Hipkins is being nuance d in his ‘she went too far’ comment.
    Mitchell’s past will have been a much-discussed attack point to pull out at some point. Ginny is not some rogue Mark Mitchell obsessive who has been digging through his past without anyone in the party having the foggiest.
    Where Hipkins will think she went too far is going full screaming fishwife while attacking Mitchell. He would have preferred a more stealthily, snide and sly performance, as Kieran ‘Something of the night about him’ McAnulty would have delivered.

  Last night FakeNewsHub at 6pm stated on a number of occasions that Andersen apologised to Mitchell. They also said Mitchell wouldn’t accept her apology (as if he was the bad guy and therefore she was the better person).

      1. It is (mostly) all in Tongan; and
      
      2. It is mostly Tongan and/or American religious shouting.

    Hipkins said she “crossed a line”, and I got some feeling that the text she would have sent Mitchell would have been along the lines of “crossed a line which I shouldn’t have”.
    
    In any case, Mitchell just said “a text isn’t the way to do it” which is quite right. Public accusation, public apology

I hope that others on this blog make a formal complaint to TVNZ that they ignored the Anderson story thus showing a lack of balance and also write to Anderson and Hipkins to express disgust at her outrageous statements about Mitchell.

Talking to each other on a blog doesn’t fix things.

    TVNZ did not carry the story on One News. The response from the broadcaster is that not carrying a story is their prerogative. To not carry a story that one MP made such outrageous accusations against another WHILE OUTSIDE THE HOUSE and on a radio station with hundreds of thousands listening is nothing other than selective bias.

    You have to make a complaint to the agency first before BSA to show you’ve tried to deal with it through their channels.
    
    I complained to TVNZ about the piece that called National white supremacists, akin to KKK, and all the other garbage.
    
    The response was not breaching standards. Haven’t got around to complaining to BSA yet

    British Army is doing the same to tick the diversity boxes. There is a media advert running in Britain showing army solders, looking all theatrically very military with guns etc and looking on approvingly whilst a Muslim solder dutifully kneels in prayer just beside them and the ad beseeches that the British military is all about everyone joining them.
    
    Interestingly, I was at a diplomatic event in Singapore just before Covid struck and was talking to a very drunk army major, where military service is compulsory, who openly told me that the Singapore military is very wary of its Indian-Muslim population getting any higher rank than Major due to very good evidence that their loyalty was to Islam first, not to Singapore.   Real republicans got everything they wanted.
  Both sides would have signed off on the deal.
  Every single agency wanted the deal
  All these illegals are ok by Trump for another year.
  Trump just nuked his campaign for real republican and independent support.
  
  Then we get to the latest presidential rankings.
  Trump shows LAST, the worst president of all time.
  That is Not entirely correct though, take out the democrat vote and he jumps up to 41 st worst…but add back the independants its 45 again.

      If the President apparently has all this authority to address the border issues then two simple questions:
      1) Why didn’t Trump do just that when he was President?
      2) Who would pay for it, given that Congress has to approve any funding?
      
      Simple answers to simple questions:
      1) Trump didn’t do it because the Courts ruled that the law (pesky thing) doesn’t actually give the President the power that Moses Mike thinks they have.
      2) It couldn’t be funded, because Congress would have to approve the funding.

    If these alleged ‘men’ had any guts or stickability or masculinity in them, they’d stay home and be trying to improve their own countries – or at the very least bringing their women and children with them to improve their family’s lives as well as their own.
    
    So either they aren’t the people that you want in your country because they will never be anything more than a bunch of useless criminal troughers sucking up $$$ from other people’s hard work – or they are military-aged and -trained men (and a few women – reference the Chinese sniper chick a few days back) deliberately infiltrating the US to rerun October 7 in the United States.
    
    I don’t see a third option for this mass invasion.

  The DEI idiocy has wrecked our Universities and a lot of our schools. Prof John Raine accurately compares NZ to Germany 100 years ago (remember Einstein fled Germany well before WWII).
  
  I suspect our Universities are too far gone already to come back from this. And they will be financially destroyed (already happening) as Asian students won’t pay to come here to be told they are “non-Maori” so they don’t get special privileges.

    Woke-ism in the West in some ways resembles what was happening in Germany in the 1920s.
    
    In NZ’s case that includes our MMP electoral system, modelled on post-WW2 Germany’s. That was changed from the 1920s model largely by adding the 5 per cent threshold for election.

After Ginny Andersen’s appalling behavior yesterday against Mark Mitchell, should “we” (eg MSM) be shining a light on the bullying allegations made against her last year by her staffers?

Granted, some would say that staffers (even young staffers) perhaps ought to “toughen up” as “that’s life”.

But what if Andersen’s bullying of her staffers were based on falsehoods, as we witnessed yesterday as she continuously attacked Mitchell’s character using these falsehoods?

Imagine being yelled at (as a staffer) by Anderson, spouting total bullshit, knowing that she knows she is spouting BS … and that she is enjoying the power trip?

So should the MSM be revisiting her bullying of staffers?

And should Andersen resign as a MP?

Like past National MP’s that have resigned after displaying inappropriate behavior (eg Aaron Gilmore comes to mind).

What does Labour leader Hipkins have to say about the integrity of one of his MP’s, who has been caught out again but this time in full view of the public?

  500 made redundant? Make is 5000. Those on the floor doing the real work (nurses, doctors, radiologists, orderlies, specialists) should not be reduced. Admin is the problem. North Shore Hospital is fantastic, until Admin get your file.
  “the number of patients waiting more than a year for routine surgeries had fallen from 12,000 to 600.” 12,000 to 600 my left tit. To me that means 11,400 have been booted off the waiting list. I think I will be one of the 11,400.
  I have been waiting for rotor cuff surgery for nearly 3 years – to the extent of being kicked off the waiting list so Labour could make the numbers look good.

    As you’ve correctly pointed out the public system drop cases like this off the waiting list to prioritise cases deemed more urgent, problem being if a tendon tear is left too long the tendon retracts and loses elasticity.
    
    The muscle attached to the tendon undergoes fatty atrophy. This means the muscle fibres are replaced with fat. This fatty degeneration of the muscle is irreversible. This means you cannot rebuild this muscle even if the tendon is successfully attached.
    
    Sorry to be the bearer of poor news – like you the years are catching up to me in terms of bits and pieces no longer working as well as they used to.

      It is not priority, it is Admin keeping the numbers lower.
      You are right about the tendon being left too long. That should get me higher up the list. Recovery is a long time.
      Right now I do not even use my boat. I am not able to swim so not silly enough to take risks. I enjoy dropping anchor and swimming to the beach.

    Interestingly, I went to the GP about something and went “oh, by the way, want to check these moles out?”
    
    Thought one was def melanoma so did a biopsy on both. Results back in 7-10 days. One confirmed melanoma. Wanted to do it himself but after a large scar from the last time a GP cut me I said I want a dermatologist to do it.
    
    Referred to public in Hutt Hospital, appointment confirmed 5 days later, surgery on Tuesday.
    
    I was astonished, as I thought I’d have to go private.
    
    But I am still not even on a waiting list for an angiogram.

Labour should have learnt years ago that our can’t fudge any numbers concerning the unemployed because in the end it will come back to bite you.
The latest numbers of those on a jobseekers benifit is 172,546 almost 52,000 more than when Labour took office 6 years ago.
It’s concerning to see the numbers of New Zealander’s increasing eight of the nine weeks reaching the highest level in a year, thatsa extra 4,713 New Zealander’s on jobseekers in 9 weeks.
And our politically corrupt media still fawn overour former politically corrupt Government and Labour Leader Chris Hipkins that were more concerned about themselves than ordinary New Zealander’s, and Newshubs Jenna Lynch, Lloyd Burr, and TV Hosts on the Newsstill get away with misinformation and lies on a dailly basis in their abuse of The Prime Minister when he mentions,those abusing the benefit.

  Trouble is public transport to get to jobs. My partner is on the jobseeker payment. She can not get a job at 64. Last application was a bakery in Newmarket. 4am start. So there are no buses at that hour of the morning from the Shore. Another was in Kumeu, 3 buses. Who wants to spend 4-5 hours a day to do an 8 hour job? Winz have the cheek to say public transport is not a valid excuse.

Four involved motorcyclists. Two collided with another vehicle, one hit parked truck and fourth on country road.
One involved another vehicle at a rural intersection.
One in a four vehicle crash, two were trucks, in poor visibility on Expressway.
A Mobility Scooter and vehicle collided.
Car hit fence opposite Marewa Shopping Centre.
Final crash was inside Napier city boundaries.

Is it time the police started advising on other causes of accidents.
Were those involved observing the existing speed limits at the time of the accident?
What road rules were not being followed?

  Probably right, but it is just the first day of testing. Most of the day would have been spent on checking correlations with the wind tunnels and CFD, and checking things like engine & brake cooling. Many teams would do that at low engine modes. And there’ll be a wide range of fuel loads too. And most drivers will have been told that under no circumstance are they to crash the car, so it’s mainly 8-9 out of 10 levels of effort.
  
  We’ll have a better idea once we wake up on Saturday morning (the teams will do quali simulations on Friday in Bahrain).
  
  And we’ll have an even better idea at the end of the Bahrain GP qualifying next Sunday morning.

  More pertinently Wikileaks leaked the Afghanistan war logs without properly redacting the names of Afghanis who had cooperated with the US forces. The Taliban then hunted down and killed many of those Afghanis.

Has anyone read that article on nzh about these chief execs from three waters getting those huge redundancies? Another example of inept handling of a policy enacted that Ardern and Labour never even campaigned on.

Someone like the taxpayers union or act should start a website doing a running tally of all the wasted tax payer money the Labour government just threw down the toilet. It’s pretty much in any area that they touched. In particular the Covid response, co governance initiatives, botched infrastructure policies, health department restructuring and on and on.

Truly galling for any tax payer working their arse off, not least of all this household paying over 6 figures in tax. No wonder so many NZers are voting with their feet and moving out of nz if they at all can. No reflection on the incoming coalition government but you’d have to wonder if nz can be adequately repaired with the Herculean efforts that will be required.

If you want them to turn up to your village you have to invite them and expect to wait a bit as some already have full schedules of places people have invited them to go to.

      It’s the fact that the refugees pouring into the West are mainly single men that is alarming.
      
      In the run-up to World War 2, for example, hundreds of Jewish children were evacuated to Britain, and the roads of Europe were full of fleeing families.
      
      Earlier I posted links to a video for the Telegraph of Ireland’s surge of immigrants and refugees.
      
      In it was stated that thousands of single male Ukrainians were each given a tent and a sleeping bag and were clogging up towns.

It also mentioned the sad and premature death of Green MP and co-leader, Rod Donald, in office in 2005 aged 48.

Former health minister Dr Ayesha Verrall told an audience in Dunedin last night she believed tobacco control was one of the main ways to take pressure off the health system.

Has anyone else noticed the price of pork has shot up lately?

I’ve been to several places this week and they’ve all been $25-26 per kilo for shoulder pork, except for one which was low ‘20s.

I don’t buy a lot of pork but I just don’t remember it ever being that expensive.

  I think most pork in NZ is imported as regulations make it uneconomic to raise pigs here.
  
  Could it be due to some sort of regulatory change that makes import more difficult.
  
  Pak’n’save do (imported) frozen pork fillet for about $13/kg which is great for all sorts of meals, and generally do shoulder or leg roasts for about $10-12/kg

    It may initially be a boon for non-workers as a lot of office based and easily automated services will likely get cheaper (warehousing, deliveries, much medical, lawyers, accountants etc). They could probably do a good job of replacing judiciary even now. But it’ll be devastating for most work from home careers.
    
    And it will quickly creep into a lot of other repetitive labouring jobs like home care, gardening, agriculture, painting, driving.
    
    There is nothing you can do to prepare or protect kids career-wise outside of giving them practical skills where combination of brains/problem solving,manual dexterity and physical versatility will retain some value. Ie trades. Or getting them into insulated civil service roles.
    
    But I expect most medical, retail, food service, hairdressing/beauty workers, will be robots in a decade.
    
    Not sure what the point of living in cities will be – when we’re all out of work. Expect a collapse in property values and flight to cheaper rural/provincial lifestyles with robot maintained lifestyle sections. Robotic housebuilding will make it a lot cheaper.
    
    There just won’t be many fields where humans can economically compete/contribute. And those where we can will rapidly diminish. It’s going to be utterly devastating to the life plans and dreams of almost everyone, but probably worst for men as they lose a major pillar of their existence/self worth.
    
    And without work I think a collapse into totalitarian socialist tyranny is inevitable (if the AI’s don’t take-over ruling the planet), as the non-workers will very soon outvote the workers and vote inevitably despotic sociopaths into power.

So, whlie we await the reurn of the fab Ryan Bridge and his primetime show on TV3…. they’re busy runing a seires of ‘Gold Coast Cops’ fron TEN years ago!

Sky do the same sort of thing off course, only differnce iswe have to pay for there old shite 🙁
