Measuring progress

Radio NZ has this summary of the Government’s progress towards its nine targets:

So of the nine targets four are on track – both crime ones (already met the 2030 target), emergency housing and climate. Two will probably be achieved – the waiting time for elective treatment and the education attendance.

So six basically looking good. Contrast that to Labour’s multiple targets where they didn’t even achieve 5% of what they promised.

The ED waiting times one is possible it will get back to the 95% within six hours it was under the last National Government. But progress is slow.

Finally the two that won’t be met are the employment and education ones. The education one is critical and only updated every couple of years (I think). Even if you get everything right at Year 1, it takes seven years to flow through to Year 8.
