MS XP Service Pack 2 Upgrade
August 31st, 2004 at 3:17 am by David FarrarOuch 100 MB of upgrade. Hope it is worth it.
Rather glad I am not on a 56K connection as it would have taken over four hours at maximum speed to download. Even 256K so called Jetstream would take around an hour. Nice thing about full Jetstream (2 Mb/sec) is even 100 MB took under 10 minutes.
Of course the bad thing is that it cost me $20 in traffic volume!

One of the best things about SP2 is the improvement to WI-FI management.
Vote:Also, don’t quote me, I think this months NZ PC World will have SP2 on its cover CD.

Maybe something is wrong with XP if they’re requiring a download twice as large as the full installation of the original win 95! Might have to get the CD though…

Simple solution: migrate to Linux.

I forgot how expensive slow internet is new zealand. 30 bucks for unlimited high speed internet a month. Hahahaha I just felt like rubbing that in.

I would love to dump Windows but I don’t know Linux and haven’t got the time to learn. I have been meaning to install it on one of my old laptops at some stage to play with.

*choke*… and I thought I was crazy taking about downloading the network installer over dialup over two or three nights…
Too bad I haven’t tried the wi-fi stuff yet. My vendor has some crazy program designed to run over SP2′s stuff with a menace.

Aren’t I glad…
I think I’m glad that I don’t diarise so often as some other people. Though I wish I’d Telecom’s parody of broadband to download a certain service pack. In other news: back to school on Monday. Yuck. In the meantime,…
