Up up and away
September 26th, 2005 at 4:02 pm by David FarrarIn a couple of hours I’m flying to Auckland and then London. Will be away for a month on a long awaited holiday. A wee bit of business and politics while over there but mainly relaxing and catching up with lots of friends.
I don’t expect to be blogging again until Wednesday NZST. And it will be probably very light blogging as, unlike when I am overseas at conferences with broadband, I’ll be relying on dial-up access and cybercafes as I’ll be crashing with friends, not staying in hotels.
Camera is travelling with me, so be prepared to get bored with lots of photos of London, England, Scotland and Ireland and maybe France.

Make sure you don’t take your laptop down on the tube, or fail to smile at police officers:

Enjoy the “Currant Bun” when you can.
Vote:I’m sure it still has page 3.
Though I’m sure you’re more of a Telegraph man.

Why don’t you get Cathy Odgers to take over your blog while you are away.

Farrar – one request, get a photo of Shane. Poor old bugger must be about 40 by now. And Mel if you can find her!! Last saw her loved up with a kiwi guy in Chelsea.

May I give you a list of my favourite drinking holes on which to investigate, photograph and report back?
You could think of it as an archaeological investigation.
Enjoy your holiday in any case.

I will make sure I have some warm beer for you when you arrive.
We also have wireless Broadband here, its 8G download, so not too slow, and will avoid you having to use the dodgy net cafes in the area.

And don’t forget the cheap flights.
Vote:Ryanair is particulalrly good.
Last October, I flew from Leeds-Bradford to Dublin for the day. It was about 70-quid all-in for the three of us.
The flights cost a quid or so, plus about ten quid or so tax each way.
Ryanair has heaps of options from Stanstead, Luton and maybe Gatwick too.
Prices all depend on timing and availability though and there is the cost of transfers to think of.
Bon Voyage!
