Journalists Released

Hours earlier a video was released showing the journalists as having converted to Islam, and demanding Blair and Bush also convert to Islam. They have confirmed it was made under duress.
Most people will welcome their release. One problem though is that it undercuts the conspiracy theory put forward by local Greenie Praying Mantis on how in fact they were kidnapped, or are being held by, Israel as a way to scare journalists out of Gaza.
There are time when the one person one vote concept scares me.

I am delighted for Anita and the families of the kidnapped journalists ..I cannot imagine how worrying a time it was.
How David dos it undercut the theory Israel was behind this…I gather from the media know one knows who was behind the kidnapping as the group claiming responsibility was totally unknown.
Are you aware there is strong suspicion that the US/GB are involved in the insurgency of Iraq.
Why
1) because as long as the Insurgency continues in Iraq they can legitimately claim they should stay and not withdraw to assure the safety of the Iraq people.
2) They the US did exactly the same proven tactic in Al Salvador to assure the future out come of this country was what the US wanted..
Naturally this later suggests a strong suspicion as to the conspiracy re Iraq with the same consequences to US ..

Did you even read the post you linked to?
PM asks “who did it” then discusses who has benefitted from it and who has been hurt. There’s no suggestion that Israel was behind it. In fact, the statement:
It couldn’t have happened better for the Israelis if Mossad had planned it themselves.
demonstrates clearly that PM doesn’t think that “they werekidnapped, or being held by, Israel as a way to scare journalists out of Gaza.”

Paulinem – if YOU were the super intelligent secret overlord of the world how would you handle getting control over oil etc?
I suggest rather than invading a country and blowing up your own soldiers in order to make the people thing they should stay. There are lots of better plans possible, including the usual “coup” plan or the “food for oil” plan.

Actually reading more about it in today’s newspaper it could easily have been a very cleaver stunt by the Palestine Govt to show to Journalists they were a friend not a foe
( note the TV channel FOX both Olag Wiig and Steve Centanni were working for is well known for its altar right wing propaganda stance)
That the Palestine Govt were in charge and could legitimise assure the right outcomes happens if problems to journalists develop.
As the saying goes which is so true

Yes but the NZ Government sent an official to speak with the PA no doubt all the appeasing comments that we have made were brought up including giving money to the Hamas Government when other Governments have not. And the spat with Israel over their agents and much else and yes holding Arafat’s hand probably got a mention as well. I want to know now what the PA wants in return.

–Yes, well conversion under duress is not new. Abu Sufyan (taken prisoner) before the attack on Mecca by Mohammad was told to recognise Allah and Mohammad his apostle “before you lose your head.” He converted, not surprisingly!

Forcable conversion is an interesting development.
If these guys backslide and turn on their fellow Muslims, will Fox generally be considered to have caused the apostasy and thus be the subject of a Fatwa to kill all Fox employees?
It’s a good way to get Fox out of the Middle East.

The NZ Prime Minister’s Folly
Helen Clark, as indicated by her media statements, had placed implicit trust in both the President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas a Holocaust denier and the financier of the kidnapping and execution of the Israeli Olympic team in Munich in 1972, and the Hamas controlled Palestinian Authority itself.
Mahmoud Abbas, in his current Presidential position, has no effective power to give any sort of assurances to Helen Clark with regard to having had turned over every stone in the search for the Fox News reporters. The Hamas controlled government members literally out-gun him and are using him as a convenient puppet for dupes of the West.
Recently amid false reports that he was planning to dissolve the Hamas government and replace it with a government of technocrats, Abbas went to Gaza and asked Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh if Fatah, Abbas’s political party, that he could join his government. As instructed by his commanders in Teheran and Damascus, Haniyeh has not yet agreed to Abbas’s offer. Rather he set humiliating conditions which Abbas must accept first. Abbas already agreed to Hamas’s demand that he allow the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization to also join the government. He is similarly expected to agree to Hamas’s demands that Fatah join the government as a junior partner and that it abandon its negotiations with Israel.
Helen Clark and the appeasers and the apologists are cueing up to show that Hamas, by the way of the Hamas dominated Paleatinian Authority, is on the road to realism by bringing about the release of Olaf Wiig and his Fox News work mate It is yet to be determined under what circumstances they were kidnapped, if not by a third party paid for by Hamas themselves so as to give an impression to the world that they are good guys after all.

I can’t understand why Klark didn’t send Goff over to negotiate the release, it might have happened a lot quicker…..Perhaps before Irael release any Moslem Prisoners they should video them having a good feed of bacon and pork chops.

DEBKA-Net-Weekly 267 Revealed: Palestinian warlord Zakaria Dughmush kidnapped the Fox News journalists on behalf of Hamas.
The Hamas team which abducted Israeli soldier Gilead Shalit on June 25 sought to ease the pressure for his release by staging a more spectacular snatch. For this reason, they hired Zakaria Dughmush and his masked men to capture the two Fox News journalists in Gaza City on Aug. 14.
DEBKA-Net-Weekly`s exclusive sources on Aug. 25 identified the kidnapper as Dughmush, a former follower of the late Jemal Semhadana, head of the Palestinian Popular Resistance Committees who was killed in Rafah by rockets fired from an Israeli warplane on June 8, 2006.
The Hamas military wing Led by Meshaal in Damascus) uses splinter groups as a front for it’s own power play with the PA PM.
There are two factors
1. Hizbollah and Damascus Hamas co-ordinating their military (attacking IDF and taking prisoners) and diplomatic strategy (aftermath prisoner talks) without reference to the PA. Hizbollah had an interest in making the area seem dangerous to westerners to delay and deter the arrival of peacekeepers.

Well “dated little man”, how come a British Christian group was mediating for the release, if the PA did not know who they were (the deal is they do not identify who the hostage takers were).
The facts appear to line up, the Hamas military wing was behind it and those of the PRC’s are the ones they work with (as they did in the taking of the IDF hostage). The one named is a leading figure amongst the PRC’s (an alliance of Hamas HOLY militants, Islamic JIHAD and al aqsa martyrs BRIGADES) and is a logical suspect. Of course the Hamas political wing has every reason to hide it’s own internal divisions as part of this embarrassment.
But whatever, the small minded will make comments about media reliability rather than the issues themselves. Is it for
