NZ First in-fighting

September 30th, 2006 at 9:08 am by David Farrar

The President of NZ First did the unforgiveable – he spoke of life after Winston. Everyone knows there is no such thing, so he must be punished.

Hence he will be challenged for the job by the NZ First Caucus who have nominated MP Barbara Stewart for the job.

Oh good. replace the experienced political figure with a nitwit member of parliament who has no grasp of electoral law.

Just a wild stab in the dark, but when MPs challenge the party hierarchy for control of the party, members usually leave in droves.

NZF has no future after Winston. It is essentially a personality cult for him. The Party has no coherent philosophy and therefore it will not survive the departure of Winston. The MPs elected on his bandwagon should count themselves lucky.

We currently have three cult of personality parties in our parliament that will die when the leaders do. Dare I say it, but good riddance to bad rubbish, too.

That said, Winston has managed to save his party more than once, perhaps he has the energy & enthusiasm to do it again?

‘The Party has no coherent philosophy’

    - so what, neither do Labour or National. The Greeens and Act have ‘coherent philosophies’- stupid ones. Perhaps waht you mean is that New Zealand First doesn’t have a fasionable ideology.
