H2

The SST has a lengthy profile of Heather Simpson, the PM’s Chief of Staff. Nothing particularly new in there, but made more relevant with her role in the pledge card affair.
One fairly harsh quote:
“Heather is the consummate apparatchik. Most of humanity desires to be liked. That doesn’t seem to matter to her.”
I’ve never dealt with her in a professional capacity, but certainly most Labour staff seem to have a story to tell of being half scared to death by H2 at some stage in their careers.

Slightly off thread, but political party advertising spending related.
The Labour party adds that we see on the petition web site, Labour pay a fee every time they are clicked ? If so, a script to add names to a petition web site might inadvertently run up a sizable bill for Labour ? Would this be illegal, or could you hide under the cover that it was confusing to write the script and the site allowed it so it’s not really your fault.

Private lives of officials in the Sunday papers.
Are there no private lives of politicians to write about

Well clearly the SST is just a right wing blog.

Burt:
Nobody should be using a script to add names to an online petitions. If this isn’t against the rules of the site, it’s certainly morally suspect.
Getting such a script to click-thru on online ads is fraud.
Simply loading the page doesn’t necessarily mean that the ad is generating revenue – but that depends on the arrangement between Google and the advertiser. Google’s technology apparently filers this type of activity out – but it’s still fraud if your intent is to generate a large bill for Labour.

Yawn. I’ve worked with Heather, she isn’t nearly as difficult as you’d like to make out (nameless disaffected researchers, whatever). If Bryan Sinclair was half the woman Heather is, well who knows what might have been.
October 22nd, 2006 at 11:03 pm
That’s right. Heather Simpson is twice the man of Bryan Sinclair…or any bloke, come to think of it.

I do not know the woman but I am sure she is very very competant but at first blush she is not the type of person one would warm to. So she is there on ability and a capacity for hard work. I suspect that many many people whould not want to work with her. Hence people who have other options in life would avoid being near her and she probably ends up working with second rate people which have more limited job options.

Another lesbian communist.. apparently the kind of person New Zealander voters want running the country.. and just look at what we have to show for it..

Seriously, you desperately need to get laid, Redbaiter. In one sense I hope you are somebody’s elaborate satire, because the other option is that you’re someone being eaten up by bitterness from the inside out. I just hope that one day you’ll sober up from your depression-binge long enough to notice the country you actually live in, as opposed to the Stalinist gulag run by lesbians that your fantasies seem to consist of.

Do you have an argument Milt, or do you just want to cry like a little kid because someone has dared top speak bluntly regarding H2 and the NZ voter’s political preferences? Is there something in my post you have the balls to take issue with, or like most hurt liberals, do you just want to drop your bottom lip and have a wee sulk??
October 23rd, 2006 at 5:16 pm
There was something there to take issue with? You continually indulge this delusion that harrumphs like “Another lesbian communist…” form an argument of some description. They don’t – they’re just grumpy interjections. It’s like continually seeing comments contributed by Father Jack.
I’ll cheerfully argue with anyone – assuming they have something other than “Feck!” “Arse!” or “Drink!” to contribute to the discussion. Make the attempt now and then, why don’t you?
October 23rd, 2006 at 7:07 pm
What the hell is delusional about it Milt? The article states she’s a lesbian and I have no doubt she’s a communist. I happen to think it is important in this country to start calling a spade a spade rather than use the destructive politically correct Stalinist euphemisms that have been the trend for the last few decades. At least I expressed an opinion that dealt with the issue. Obviously you lacked the balls to challenge me on those opinions and instead settled for a bigoted off topic attack on Redbaiter. Get a life you simpering panty waisted miserable little PC commie twerp.

You’ve really got a thing about balls – I find the brain of more use in an argument. However, I’m a patient and stoical character, so will do my best for you:
1. What’s delusional is your belief that your grumpy interjections constitute arguments, not your belief that H2 is a lesbian communist, which for all I know could be true.
2. Having just spent several comments challenging you on your opinions, I’m at a bit of a loss to see how I lack the bollocks to challenge you on your opinions. I don’t have any substantive response to your opinion on H2, because there isn’t any substance in there to base one on. For example, if I turn up in a thread on Don Brash and call him “another neo-con wanker,” I’d be very surprised if anyone felt they should enter into an earnest discussion with me about how Don might have tossed one of the wrist now and then but this doesn’t really constitute sufficient basis to characterise him as an onanist. Get the idea? You probably don’t of course, but like I said – patient and stoical.

Milt- Re your claims:
1. I do not regard my statement in this case as an “argument”. It is an opinion expressed in this case in response to the original post. There is not as far as I know any restrictions on posting opinion on blogs, and I don’t see the slightest reason to apply the word “delusional”.
2. You’ve completely lost me there. All I see previously are comments concerning how impolite and “delusional” of me it is to post opinion. This is not challenging the actual opinion. You seem to be unaware of what I actually said. I was making a sarcastic reference to the fact that NZers had voted to be governed by lesbian communists, (H2 is recognised as the 2nd most powerful even tho not elected) when the truth is they most likely had no idea at the time of the election that was what they were voting for, and that what’s more H2 had made a massive ballsup (oooh aahh) of the job anyway (which was a snide reference to the pledge card issue and other recent miscalculations) Leftists are customarily crippled in comprehension, but surely the gist is not that difficult to discern.
If I was a leftist and going to challenge that, I would have tried to justify H2′s powerful tho unelected position and/ or tried to show she had been doing a good job. As I’m not a leftist, perhaps you’ll forgive me for not being capable of coming up with the detail needed to support those delusional views, but I think I’ve made my point about your failure to address the issues.

Wow Redbaiter, you’re as much of a bore in blog comments as you were on the newsgroups. That’s quite an achievement.
